Link didn't really know what to make of the "meeting table" that the counselors had gathered around. It some weird green table with a small net in the middle that ran its width, and it was covered in bags, bottles, and bowls full of snacks that he (probably) had never seen before. He tried a few of them, and quickly developed a love for Doritos and Cherry Pepsi. The "cool ranch" flavor of Doritos was easily his favorite so far.

The massive hole in the ceiling and wall made privacy a bit of a concern for the counselors and company, but nobody else seemed to want to come by. The fact that the Big House had been subject to halfway destruction by a giant, dead, undead monstrosity was probably what turned them off from the place.

"I say we get rid of him," said Clarisse, a girl that Link thought looked more like a man than a woman. "He brought a fire-breathing skeleton here with him. We have no idea whether we can trust him or not."

"Did you already forget that he also killed the fire-breathing skeleton?" Connor Stoll pointed out.

"No," the daughter of Ares answered shrewdly. "I just think that he could be lying to us about having amnesia. He's not even human. He could be working to gain our trust just so he can stab us in the back at some point."

"Calm down, Clarisse," Annabeth recommended calmly. "He killed the monster. Plus, he was chased here by a pack of hellhounds. I doubt he's affiliated with any enemies of the camp."

"And beyond that," Chiron spoke up, "he is not of this world, as I said before."

"Wait, what?" Link said with a bewildered look, as though the centaur had become even more bizarre than he already was. "Hold on a second. Why wasn't I told about that?"

"You were unconscious for most of the day," Percy stated bluntly. "Unconscious people don't make great listeners." Link raised a finger and opened his mouth as if to say something, but stopped himself. He shrugged and sank back into his seat.

"Fair enough," the green-clad boy said. "But can I at least get an explanation as to why that Rachel girl randomly spouted out that creepy poem and why her eyes glowed like that?"

"She is our Oracle," Chiron explained. "She gives prophecies of quests for teams of campers. That 'creepy poem' was a prophecy. And the fact that you triggered it is… disconcerting."

"It didn't sound like one for a typical quest," Annabeth said in an analytical tone. "It was more like some kind of warning than anything else."

"That is why it has me so worried."

Mr. D grumbled slightly as he drank his Diet Coke. "I'll talk to Zeus about it. See if he has any idea what's going to happen." He set aside his empty soda can and conjured up a new one, popping it open. "The Big Three know more about that other world than most of the other Olympians."

Chiron nodded, and Link held a confuse expression. Who were the Olympians? They sounded fairly important. Maybe he could someone later. Now didn't seem like a good time.

"For now," Chiron continued, turning an eye toward Link for a moment, "we should come up with a plan to deal with Link here."

"I'm right here, you know."

"I still say we get rid of him," Clarisse suggested stubbornly.

"I say we keep him here in camp," Will Solace countered. When he received a glare from Clarisse, he said, "We'll keep him under close watch of course. My cabin can handle that. If he makes a break for it… well, you guys know we rarely ever miss."

"That's reassuring," Link deadpanned. "Look, I don't even know where I'm from. I didn't even know my name until that giant thing brought it up. Besides that, I doubt I'm much of threat compared to all the people here. As far as I can tell, you're all warriors-in-training, at least."

Percy chuckled at that. "Dude, you have no idea."

At that, Chiron cleared his throat. "Well then, I believe this meeting is about to reach its conclusion. Link will be under the watch of Apollo Cabin until further notice. He will require a bunk in the cabin. William, I suggest that you inform your siblings on this matter." Will nodded, and the camp counselors all rose from their seat, the son of Apollo motioning to Link for him to follow.

As they walked through the camp, Will explained to Link about a few things, like how the Olympians were the gods of Ancient Greece (Link had no idea what Greece was, so he just nodded like he understood, basically lying through his teeth), and how just about everybody in Camp Half-Blood were the children of those gods. At first, Link didn't bite, but he didn't argue about it. If a man can have a horse body, why couldn't kids have godly parents? He also said that Mr. D was one of the Olympians, the wine god Dionysus.

"You're kidding," Link said in disbelief. That pudgy little guy was a legitimate god? That had to be a joke.

Will chuckled a little. "I can understand why you'd say that. He doesn't look like what you'd expect a god to look like, but none of the Olympians do, really. Well, except for Hades, the Lord of the Underworld. But I think he gets a pass because he doesn't usually interact that much with mortals."

Link nodded, still not entirely sure about the whole "gods making babies with mortals" thing. It didn't make a whole lot of sense. Then again, he probably had whole different set of religious beliefs back in his… world.

That was a rather unbelievable concept in itself. Finding out that he was from another world was more than a little shocking. But it didn't surprise him that much, somehow. He had a feeling that he came to this world for something, but he just couldn't quite place it. It wasn't a very comfortable feeling at all, really, and it wouldn't go away. "Power," "battle," "help." Those were the first words he had recalled. He didn't bring it up originally because they didn't really seem to matter that much. But now, they kept rolling through his mind.

And a single image flashed in his mind.

He gasped in shock as a massive migraine struck him. The image he saw… a single scene of bloody chaos. Bodies littered all around him. Across from him, a huge man stood with his right hand raised high, the back of it glowing with a bright gold light, equally beautiful and terrifying. When he recovered from that, he saw Will standing over him, his eyes wide.

"Are you all right?" he asked. Link just nodded in response. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah," Link replied as he took a deep breath to try and relax himself. "Just… some kind of… I don't know. I think a memory just came back to me."

"Do you need to talk about it?"

"I'd rather not. It was… there were a lot of dead people."

"Oh," Will said, taken aback a bit by the description. "Well… we should probably keep going. My siblings and I usually spend a lot of our time at the archery range. You sure you're all right?"

"Yeah, I'm good," Link lied. "Lead the way."

After a brief moment of reluctance on Will's part, they made their way to the archery range, where, sure enough, most of the Apollo kids were hanging out. Some of them were practicing their archery skills, while others were just relaxing and talking on nearby benches. Alice was the first person to notice Will and Link's arrival. She hurried over to them almost immediately, dropping her bow to the ground.

"What happened?" she asked. "What are we doing about Link?"

"I'm fine, by the way," Link stated, making Alice's face turn red suddenly.

"Don't worry," Will said. He then whistled, getting everyone else's attention. "All right, people, listen up!" He briefly explained that Link would be staying with Apollo cabin until Chiron said otherwise, to which some of the children of Apollo groaned, while others offered suspicious glances, or else seemed indifferent. When he finished, he told them to carry on with what they were doing. With that done, he waved Link off and went over to the bow rack to get his own bow to practice.

Alice looked at Link a bit nervously. She blushed and looked away when he looked at her, to which he gave a confused expression.

"So, um…" Alice started shyly. She wasn't used to talking to boys without someone else around. "What are you going to do?"

Link shrugged and examined the archery range. "I guess… I'll try my hand at archery." Without another word, he headed over to the bow rack and took one. It was a bit heavier than he was expecting. He felt like he might've been used to lighter bows. Regardless, he held it up in his right hand and gave the bowstring an experimental tug with his left hand. He pulled it out as far as he could, but shook his head. He put it back and tested another one. And another one. And another.

Alice was beginning to think that he was never going to pick a bow, but he eventually found one that must've suited his apparently meticulous tastes. He grabbed a quiver full of arrows and went over to the range. He stopped in front of a free target and notched an arrow, pulling it back with his left hand.

The Apollo kids all watched him warily as he took aim at the target, some of them thinking he might turn the bow on them. After a few tense seconds, he released the arrow. It landed just an inch from dead-center of the bull's eye, which actually impressed the others somewhat, Alice more so than others.

"That was an amazing shot!" she said with genuine awe. "You were probably some kind of archer before you came here."

"It still doesn't feel right," Link said, giving a scrutinizing glare at the weapon in his hand.

"What?"

"The bow. All of them were either too heavy or too light. This one's too light. Marginally, I mean. I must've had a really unique bow of my own."

"So ours aren't good enough for you?" one of the campers asked indignantly.

Link shook his head. "They're great. They just don't… work with me…" He trailed off, getting a distant look in his eyes.

"Link?" Alice asked him. He didn't respond. She waved a hand in front of his face and snapped her fingers. He didn't even flinch.

He reached down to a pouch on the back of his belt. His hand went in way further than it should've been able to, considering the pouch was barely the size of his fist. When he pulled his hand out, he somehow pulled out longbow of sorts. It was made of a wood that Alice didn't recognize, and had metal bracings on the tips and on guards for the hand. He then reached back into his pouch and pulled out a quiver that was almost overflowing with arrows. He set the quiver down on the ground and pulled out three arrows, notching all of them at once.

"There's no way," one of the campers said when he got over the shock of seeing Link pull a full-sized bow out of his magical pouch. He was quickly shushed by another camper.

Link waited a few seconds, taking a deep breath as he aimed the arrows. Then, he released all of them… and they all struck the target in a perfect triangle. That was even more impressive to the children of Apollo than a bull's eye. Some of them stared with mouths agape and eyes wide. Others cheered and applauded. That was about when Link came back to reality, blinking in disbelief at the triangle pattern that he had fired into the target.

"Wait. What just happened?" He looked around at the sound of a few people cheering and stared at the campers in befuddlement.

"Link!" Alice called out to him. "That was an amazing shot! All three arrows in a perfect triangle? That's incredible! How did you do it?"

He stared at the dark-haired girl for a moment, blinking once. "I…" He looked over at the target he had hit, amazed at his own skill. "I really don't know," he admitted. "It just… happened. I guess archery is in my skill set."

"I'll say," Will Solace said as he approached Link. "To say that you've got good aim would be an understatement. But personally, I'm more interested in that." He pointed to the bow that Link still held in his right hand. "Where, exactly, did that bow come from?"

The green-clad young man stared at the weapon in his hand and shrugged. "My pouch? That Chiron guy did say I came from another world. Who knows how many other surprises I might have?"

From a distance, Chiron watched as events transpired. He narrowed his eyes. There was something about this boy… he couldn't quite put his finger on it, but this child had something special in him. Some kind of potential that had yet to be tapped into. He thought back to the prophecy that Rachel had given. Link had somehow triggered it. The centaur turned on his hooves and made his way back to the remains of the Big House. Perhaps he could figure something out in what was left of his office.
