I let the water work it's way over me, changing it from hot to cold so neither was comfortable.

I couldn't stop thinking about Peter. What was wrong with me? For months, Tobias was waiting, waiting for me to be ready to be able to accept him back into my life. And all this time, I had told myself I wasn't comfortable yet, just a little while longer. And now, here I was, trying to wash off the aftershave Peter wore because I slept in his bed?!

Shivering, I stepped out of the shower and wrapped myself in a large fluffy towel. When I got out of the bathroom, I found my room occupied.

"So you are alive," Will said, flipping through a book I'd left on the side. Rolling my eyes, I flumped next to him, the towel hitching up my thigh slightly. When Will and Christina were together, we got really close, mostly during the times she was getting ready. Since they broke up, we remained talking, which I loved. Will was just so much more observant than Christina.

He placed the book down, appraising me with green eyes. "You ok though?" He asked, his voice touching with concern. I sighed and put my head on his chest.

"Everything is messed up." I huffed, pouting like a little girl. "You and Christine, me and Four... It's just all gone down the drain."

Will laughed. "And here I thought something was actually wrong. Perk up, you're bringing me down."

I cracked a little smile, then heaved myself off the bed.

"I need to get ready. For work. With Peter," I groaned. I couldn't tell Will about what I felt when I was locked up in his room last night, but I could at least rant a little.

His eyebrows hitched into his messy blonde hair. "Peter? Really? Four let that happen?"

I scoffed. "As if Four has been doing anything else but 'let things happen' nowadays." I leafed through some clothes, deciding for a short pair of black running short and a black sports bra. I would be working out with the new initiates all day, and it wasn't uncommon to walk round in gym kit. I had adapted so well to the Dauntless life, I thought, pulling on the clothes. In Abnegation, if I was seen with my stomach showing I would be locked up for weeks, most likely.

"Well, he wasn't just 'letting things happen' last night when he got into a fight with Peter this morning."

I froze. Will looked at my with surprised eyes. "What, you didn't know? Apparently, Peter had taken you back to his room or something last night - complete lie obviously... What, what's with that face?"

I shook my head. "Nothing, carry on," I murmured, turning my back and pulling on my trainers.

"Tris." Will stressed, his eyes watching boring into my back.

I snapped up. "Fine!" I yelled, my hands crossing over my body in a defensive structure.

Will jumped out of bed, his eyes crazy. "Fine what?"

"I may or may not have ended up in Peter's room last night. Nothing happened!" I assured quickly, scared of the colour Will had just turned. "God Will, say something."

"Peter? You ended up in Peter's room? Tris that boy tried to murder you-" I let him rant for a good five minutes, before gently explaining.

"I guess that's-" he started angrily, then stopped. "That's actually, quite gentlemanly."

I threw my hands up in exasperation. "Will, I need you to tell me this boy is disgusting, that he's vile and I should keep my distance."

He waved me off. "Of course, he's all those things. But he was nice, as well."

"A leopard doesn't change his spots," I recited from an old book. Will looked at me, confused, and then we began laughing at it as I explained it. I managed to steer the conversation for the next twenty minutes, and when we left for work, Peter was the last thing on either of our minds.
