Greetings, One and All! Here's the latest comic script for Chapter 9 of The Affections of a Villainess! By the way, my friend and partner Henrik-Drake has uploaded a lot of good art recent over at DeviantArt (plus some other goodies over on his Patr-reon) and I've uploaded a few mature pieces over at Hentai Foundry. I highly recommend checking them out. Also, I would greatly appreciate it supporting my partner with with a $1, $5 or even $10 donation to his Patr-eon account. Speaking of which, I'm thinking of setting up one of my own. What do you think? :)
*Ron could only gaze into Shego before turning his attention to Selene Goh on the television screen and then back to the pale green-skined woman who was his heart and soul. The tears that fell and streamed down her cheeks from earlier when she told him of her horrible experience in high school returned in greater force. The memories of that day and the weeks that followed began to overwhelm her. She a stood from the couch, head hung low and her back to Ron as she rubbed her arms. Concerned, Ron rises from the sofa, approaches the heroine-turned-villainess and slowly, gently rests his hand on her shoulder.*
Ron: Selina...
Shego: She's my Mother, Ron.
Ron: Okay... I'm a bit confused here. More than usual. What is this all about? Who was that woman talking on the screen? And why did your Mom... do something so incredibly horrific to her?
*Shego closed her eyes, but was unable to stop a few from escaping and streaming down her pale-green cheeks. She felt a familiar pain enter her heart, the memories coursing through her psyche as she remembered everything on that terrible day and the days that followed. She turned to face Ron, opening her teary eyes to gaze into his loving, caring, concerned brown irises. He reminded her so much of her best friend, of the girl she loved... Kara Lothbrok. It was then she began to speak. He deserved to know everything about her, including about the darkest time of her life.*
*Note: When Shego tells her story, it will be shown in flashback visuals. And, yes, it's going to be very emotional.*
Shego: I've always been close to my parents, especially my Mother. They were always there for my brothers and I. Even when running Goh Industries, they would both always managed to spend quality time with all of us. They were the best parents a couple of kids could ask for. *She smiles, remembering her burly father carrying Hego and Mego on his shoulders while her pregnant Mom held her affectionately in her arms as they walked through the park.*
Shego: I was very shy. I tried making friends, but that didn't go so well. But I always had my Mom to encourage me, give me confidence to keep trying. Then, one day... I met Kara Lothbrok. She was funny, odd, weird, adventurous, carefree... but she was also very honest, loyal, optimistic, compassionate and kind. In a lot of ways... She was a lot like you, Ron. *She smiled affectionately at him, reaching up to caress and rest her hand against his cheek.*
Shego: Kara became my best friend. She was always by my side, from Kindergarten to High School. When most feared, hated, or stayed away from me once I got my powers and skintone after getting hit by that damn comet... Kara stayed. She didn't care about my appearance or anything. She loved and accepted me for everything that I was, regardless of what everyone else thought or believed. It's why I loved her so much and why it's so hard to think or talk about her. *She feels the tears sting in her eyes, but managed to keep them contained as she bit her lip forcefully, unaware that she was clenching her hands into fists.*
Shego: My Mother had invented something that would provide limitless energy to the entire world. The Black Matter Extractor Generator. An invention that could literally harness Black Matter from the depths of space/cosmos and creation itself. She invited Kara and I to witness it in action at the Gala my parents were helming at Goh Industries... but something went wrong. The machine let out a pulse blast that leveled everything. My Mother was caught in the blast, the Black Matter imbued her with great power. My father tried to rush in to save her, but was caught in the blast. He ended up in a coma. 11 people died... And one of them that night was Kara. *She begins crying profusely, lunging forward to wrap her arms around Ron as she buried her face against his shirt.*
Shego: I survived because of my powers, my heightened durability and healing factor. But... Kara... I held her in my arms until she died, Ron! I couldn't save her! I couldn't protect her! I'd have rather died, so she could live. I wanted to die, I wanted to burn away to nothing, I... I wanted to be with her. The last thing she said was... "I love you, Selina. I'll always be with you. So, please, don't cry." She never stopped loving me, even when she... she...
*Shego continues to cry, sobbing as Ron comforts her in his arms, his hands gently caressing her shoulders and back. He leads her back to the sofa, gently sitting them both down as she continued to cling to him like a drowning person, fearful that if she were to let go that he'd disappear forever. A few minutes pass before she's able to compose herself, Ron offering her a tissue to wipe away the tear trails and blow her nose. Releasing a shakey breath, Shego continued to speak and tell her tragic tale.*
Shego: After her funeral, I became distant from everyone. I'd visit my Father at the Hospital, speak to him even though he couldn't hear me. And even though I know it wasn't her fault... A part of myself blamed my Mother for what happened. I was angry at her, but... I blamed and hated myself more than anything. I know there was nothing I could've done, but I hate feeling helpless! It makes me so angry, Ron... I hate it...
Shego: A few weeks passed. I continued to work alongside my brothers in Team Go. I figured fighting villains and keeping busy would help keep my mind off of everything... but it didn't. Then, one day, we get an emergency call from Goh Industries from the woman you seen on the broadcast, Yui Mafune. She claimed my Mother had gone mad, was destroying everything in her path, and threatening to kill her. We confronted our Mother, tried to reason with her, but she was lost in her rage. She defeated my brothers, but I managed to defeat her. Dr. Director and Global Justice arrived, they took her away and that was the last time I seen her. It wasn't long after that that I got into an argument with Hego, our worst one ever. I quit Team Go, walked out on them, and severed my ties to my brothers. If I had known then what I do now, that that fucking bitch Yui Mafune sabotaged my Mother's invention... that she was responsible for killing Kara, for putting my Father in a coma, and betraying & framing my Mother! She's to blame for all of this, for everything that happened to my family and me!
*Tears of rage, pain and sorrow formed in Shego's eyes and slowly stream down her face. She was in such an emotional state that she didn't even notice her fists becoming ignited in fiery green plasma. When she turned her gaze back to Ron, seeing the sadness and concern in his eyes, she extinguished her plasma, lowered her head and closed her eyes.*
Shego: I lost my Father, my Mother, my Best Friend, and my Family all at once. Everything I loved, cherished and cared about in my life... was reduced to nothing more than a memory.
Ron: Selina, I... I'm so sorry.
*Silence reigns for several moments until Ron gently pulls Shego into his embrace. He rubs her back and kisses her head, comforting her in her time of need. They weren't sure how long they sat on the sofa, whether it be minutes or hours. Ron knew that she needed this, that she needed him now more than ever. Eventually, they locked eyes, Ron offering her a gentle, supportive, compassionate smile.*
Ron: So... What are you going to do?
Shego: I've got to go to her.
Ron: Wait, what?
Shego: I'm going to face my Mother. *She rises from the sofa, intent on marching up to Ron's room to retrieve her green & black jumpsuit.*
Ron: Okay. Then I'm coming, too! *He rises from the sofa to follow her, only for Shego to stop dead in her tracks and turn to face him.*
Shego: No, you're staying here! I can't risk you getting involved and hurt because of me. I need to face her. Alone.
Ron: Sorry. Not gonna happen. I'm coming with you. *Shego grabs him by his Jersey and lifts him off the ground with one hand, attempting to intimidate him.*
Shego: No. You're. Not!
Ron: Yes, I am. If you want to stop them, Shego, then you're gonna have to knock me out.
Shego: You're serious?
Ron: Note serious face.
Shego: Damn it, Ron...
*He wasn't bluffing. And there was no way she could change his mind. He was going to be by her side forever. She releases a sigh, a smirk gracing her features as she sets Ron down. But before she releases her grip on his shirt, she pulls him in for a passionate kiss.*
Shego: Fine. You can come, but you stay in the lobby until I need you. Capiche?
Ron: I'm down with that, Selina. Let's go!
Shego: Uh, Ron?
Ron: Yeah?
Shego: I've got to change first.
Ron: Oh! Heh heh. My bad. Got a bit overzealous there for a second.
Shego: Why don't you come with me? You can watch as I get ready.
Ron: *Blushing profusely.* I-I-I... Um... Well... That is...
Shego: Come on, stud. It won't take long. Besides, you seen me in less, so this should be easy.
*She drags the blushing, muttering, incoherent Ron upstairs to his room. She made sure to do a nice little teasing striptease for her boyfriend until she only had her panties on before getting into her green & black jumpsuit. Then, once that was done, Shego and Ron quickly raced out of the house and into her hovercraft. Their destination? Goh Industries.*
*Shego and Ron board the hovercraft, with Rufus tagging along in his friend's pocket, as they soared across the sky towards Go City. She lands the hovercraft several hundred meters from the entrance of Goh Industries, activating the cloaking device before she and Ron begin making their way towards the massive complex.*
Ron: Whoa! This place is huge!
Rufus: Uh-huh, uh-huh! Big!
Shego: Yeah. Amazing to think that my parents created all of this from nothing, right?
Ron: I'll say! I can't remember any corporate industries even close to being this scale!
*They approach the desk in the lobby where a beautiful secretary/receptionist was seated, working on various paper and computer work simultaneously. She has short brown hair and wore glasses, she reminded Ron of Eina Tulle from the anime Is it Wrong to Pick up Girls in a Dungeon & Velma Dinkley from Scooby-Doo. She greets them with a smile.*
Secretary/Receptionist: Good afternoon. I'm Hannah Roberts. How can I be of service?
Shego: I'm here to see Selene Goh. I'm her daughter.
Hannah: Ah, yes. She's been expecting you. She's in her office. You'll have to take the elevator.
Shego: Thanks.
Hannah: And who is this handsome gentleman?
Shego: He's Ron Stoppable. My boyfriend. So hands to yourself, unless you want to lose them.
Hannah: I-I understand, Miss.
Shego: Ron, you stay here. I'll be back as soon as I can. If I need you... well, you'll know.
Ron: Selina... be careful.
Shego: No worries, Lover. *She gives him a wink before walking to and entering the elevator.*
*Rufus crawls out of Ron's pocket and onto his shoulder, letting out a concerned squeak and groan.*
Ron: I know, pal. I'm worried, too.
*The elevator doors open, Shego steps out, her eyes scanning the massive room that seemed virtually endless. It was oddly serene in this vast space as large or larger than a warehouse. The lights weren't blinding nor dimly lit. The black, smooth marble flooring is so clean that Shego could see her own reflection in it. She slowly made her way through the room, making her way toward the a large desk. A sole figure stood, their back to Shego, looking out the massive glass window screen that revealed Goh Industries, Goh City and everything else for as far as the eye could see.*
Abyss: You've come at last, my dear Selina. *She turns around to face her daughter, her cold blue eyes locking on to her child's emerald-green irises.*
Shego: As if I could stay away.
*Abyss walks around the desk, stopping right before her daughter. She reaches out to caress her daughter's face, tenderly resting her hand against Shego's cheek in a motherly manner. She smiles genuinely, even as Shego tries to keep her face an emotionless mask yet fails.*
Abyss: You've really blossomed since I've last seen you, Selina. You're as beautiful, strong, intelligent, and independent as I had hoped you would be. Your Father and I raised you well.
Shego: Thanks, Mom. *She lightly brushes her Mother's hand away.*
Abyss: You want to know why you're here, don't you?
Shego: More or less. Not that I'm not enjoying our touching reunion.
Abyss: *Chuckles* Still have that sarcastic wit, I see.
Shego: What can I say? I get it from my parents.
Abyss: Indeed.
Shego: What's this all about, Mother? You already got your revenge against Yui Mafune. So what else is there?
Abyss: Oh, Selina... there is so much more.
Shego: What do you mean?
Abyss: Doctor Director and Global Justice. Never once did they bother to conduct on full-on investigation of the incident that resulted in your Father being put in a coma, my forced transformation that gave me these powers, or the deaths of those 11 people... including your best friend, Kara. They never even once thought to investigate or acknowledge the fact that Yui Mafune was working alongside villains, crime bosses, corrupt organizations, terrorists, or scumbags like Jack Hench. No, they would rather lock me away to rot in the depths of one of their prisons in one of their bases and allow Yui Mafune to get away with all the murder & treachery she's caused!
Shego: Get to the point!
Abyss: When I escaped my imprisonment, I managed to download all the information from Global Justice's computer data banks... including the location of every single one of their secret bases along with those of every villain, terrorist, crime boss, and corrupt organization on the planet.
Shego: Yeah, so what?
Abyss: I'm going to eliminate them all, Selina. Every last one. Every corrupt organization, every villain, every crime boss, every terrorist. I'm going to come down Global Justice and all those bastards like the right hand of God!
Shego: You can't be serious!
Abyss: Yes, I am. Will you join me? No... Will you help me and stand by my side, Selina? Will you avenge what's been done to to us, to our family, and humanity itself by their hands?
Shego: Never stop making them pay, huh?
Abyss: Precisely.
Shego: How are you going to accomplish this?
Abyss: The Dark Matter Extractor Generator. It will only take a few modifications and then I'll have in my possession the most powerful weapon on the entire planet. A weapon that I will use to bring extinction to those who've inflicted so much harm upon us and the world itself.
Shego: This is a dangerous path. Taking out the woman who was responsible is one thing, but... killing hundreds or thousands of people? Don't get me wrong, I have no love for Global Justice or Dr. Director, let alone corrupt organizations, terrorists, or villains for that matter. But this... It's extreme.
Abyss: As far as I'm concerned, Global Justice is no better than the ones they claim to be protecting the world from. All of them deserve to be punished and wiped from the face of the Earth.
Shego: What about the innocent people who'll be killed?
Abyss: There are always casualties in war. If hundreds must die so that hundreds of millions can live a good life, then so be it. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.
Abyss: So... what will it be, Selina? Will you help me, or will you stand against me?
Shego: I don't have to make any damn decision! You want to take down Global Justice? Be my guest. You want to eliminate all the terrorists, corrupt organizations, and villains in the world? Go for it. But I'll be damned if I'm going to get innocent blood on my hands by helping you seek vengeance!
Abyss: *Sigh.* I had hoped and expected better of you, Selina.
Shego: Whatever. Deal with it.
Abyss: I believe you need to be taught a lesson in respect. And I am more than capable of teaching it.
Shego: I beat you once. I can do it again. *She ignites her fists in fiery green plasma, getting into a fighting stance as she did.*
Abyss: *Laughs.* Rest assured, that will never happen again. For you see, my daughter, I had barely any control of my powers when we last fought 6 years ago. And furthermore... *She begins powering up, encasing her hands with Dark Matter energy.*... I was holding back.
SHAAAAKOOOOOOOOOOM!
