CHAPTER 14
Last chapter guys! Thanks for reading my story! I'll start a story called 'Till The End' after I'm done with 'Waiting For You.'
:)
6 Months later
It had been six months since Dan's memory returned. For Runo, these six months, were bliss. She had gotten her Dan back.
Lara had returned to her kingdom. She contacted them from time to time. Drago, on the other hand, had returned to Vestroia. That was the only time she had seen Dan cry, but it was the right decision. Drago belonged there, not here. Shun and Alice were happy together. Shun got his friend back and Alice could see the smile return to Runo's face.
Now she walked with Dan, hand in hand. Over the past few months they had been going on dates, spending time together and all that. Runo had accepted that Dan was going to take time, and she was ready to wait. Though he remembered everything, the fact that he hadn't, made it all weird.
"What are you thinking about?" Dan asked her, "Is something wrong?"
Runo shook her head, Dan had been behaving more and more like himself. Everything was perfect. There was one thing that worried her though, he still hasn't proposed to her again. She didn't know why, but it worried her. Maybe he didn't want to get married anymore?
She wanted to ask him that, there and then and she was about to, when he kissed her. It caught her off guard. He hadn't touched her, much less kiss her in the past month. Why was he kissing her now? In the middle of the street, that to. Yet, she didn't complain. She kissed him back.
His hand went around her waist, pulling her closer. The kiss was soft, it made her heart melt. Her hand wet around his neck, she was about to pull him even closer, when he pulled away.
"What?" Runo asked, annoyed. "First you kiss me after six months and then you pull away so hastily, are you trying to get even?"
Dan chuckled, "I stopped cause I wanted to tell you something. Something which I haven't told you in two years." Dan's voice was suddenly serious now, so were his eyes.
"And...what is that?" Runo asked.
"I love you." Dan said, smiling.
Runo's eyes flew wide. She wasn't sure if she had heard it right, when he said it again. This time drawing her closer, looking straight into her eyes.
"I love you Runo Misaki. Now...will you say something in return, I don't want to feel like an idiot here."
Runo could feel tears building, yet she managed a reply, "I love you too. You doofus. Who takes so much time in saying that?"
Dan smiled at her now. Slowly he let go of her, took her hand and went down on her knee. Which made Runo gasp. "Well then, if you don't mind me asking. Will you marry me Runo?"
Runo nodded, she was crying now. What was the use holding back? "Yes, yes, yes I'll marry you."
Dan got up, he reached for her, meaning to kiss her but she flung herself at him, almost knocking him over as she hugged him. "I love you, I thought you'd never say it to me."
"Well, you're crazy then, why wouldn't I?" Dan said, hugging her back.
Runo smiled to herself as she kissed him, this time with all her passion. This was, after all, the perfect end to her story. She had what she wanted, and she never going to let it go.
