Title: Fight
Author: razra_eizel
Pairing: hint of Sherlock/John
Warning: none
A/N: I read a fic once in which Sherlock and John were fighting, and John refused to talk to Sherlock. That is the basis of the concept of their fight in this story. I think, if they were ever to fight, they'd probably ignore each other rather than resort to violence.
Fight
Lestrade did a double take when Sherlock and John arrived at the crime scene. They had taken a cab per usual, but there was a strange, stony silence surrounding the two that caused even Donovan to hold her tongue.
He had to admit that John was actually a bigger mystery than Sherlock. The good doctor was loyal and righteous; he'd do anything to protect the people of England (especially Sherlock), perhaps something he had picked up from his days in the army. He was good-natured, nice, and caring, possibly something he picked up since medical school.
He was also practically a saint. He had put up with Sherlock's random composing, his experiments, the body parts in the fridge, the fact that Sherlock never went down to Tesco and buy milk, the constantly interrupted meals, the sleepless nights, a mulish Sherlock who would refuse to eat or sleep, and the list went on. For him to actually be angry at Sherlock, there had to be something big.
Lestrade surreptitiously asked Donovan to check if Sherlock had caused a nuclear meltdown somewhere.
Sherlock entered the crime scene without so much as a greeting, snapping at Anderson with more ferocity than usual while John stood beside Lestrade.
"What did he do now?" Lestrade was almost afraid to hear the answer.
"He forgot my birthday."
