Amelia was in love with a boy. Problem was, said boy didn't care about her.

Stupid, stupid Ivan Braginski! Out of all the boys, why did it have to be him? But she knew why. It was his captivating violet eyes, the soft silver hair, his strong build and even his stupid accent! He was smart too, although she wasn't sure whether she really loved that. He always showed her up in class, making her look like an idiot.

It was hard coming to terms with her feelings. It felt like she had betrayed her country by falling in love with a stupid commie. But once she was sure she knew it was time to act. No more staring from a distance or silly little notes that she never had the courage to give him or stalking (that was once, okay!). Amelia Jones was a strong woman and she could take matters into her own hands!

That's why she was here right now, in the corridor, waiting for Ivan to come out of the class. The bell rang. Students spilled out of the classroom and headed in the general direction of the cafeteria. She grimaced when her stomach rumbled, knowing they were serving pizza today. See the things I go through for you, Ivan? You better appreciate it!

Half a minute later the hall was empty. Ivan had stayed behind to talk to a teacher. Perfect, she thought. A shadow of doubt passed over her but Amelia shook those thoughts away.

She watched the two men exit the classroom, the teacher headed off in the opposite direction. Braginski still hasn't noticed me, well he's definitely going to now!

This is her chance, it's now or never! She grabbed a fistfull of his shirt and pushed him into the wall. A suprised expression overcame the usually calm and composed Russian.

Oh God, she was close enough to smell him. Vodka and pine trees. Hot! He stared down at her and she knew she should probably speak.

"Listen up Braginski. I like you, okay. So you better-" She never got the chance to finish because he reached down and kissed her.

This is better than pizza!
