This chapter happens in the chat between Mycroft and John, right after John's phone beeps with a text from Sherlock.

John's phone in the show is a Nokia N97, I'm neither advertising, nor tarnishing that phone's reputation here.

Disclaimer: If I owned it, then this would have been in the show, not on fanfiction!

John looks at the strange man evenly, "Well, thank God you're above all that."

Right at that moment, John's mobile chimed in order to announce the arrival of a text message. John pulled out the mobile without breaking eye contact with the man. Then he opened the message and read it.

"I hope I'm not distracting you." Mycroft said sarcastically.

"Not distracting me at all" John replied absently, while still contemplating his phone. Another text arrived and John read it. Then he pinched the bridge of his nose and let out a frustrated breath.

Mycroft was confuse, "What seems to be the problem?"

"Sherlock has asked me to forward a text he is about to-" he was cut off by the phone's chime, "er…he has just sent me, to a number he has sent me in another text." John said with a touch of misery in his tone.

"And what is the reason for your distress?" Mycroft inquired.

"I just got this phone four or five days ago." John answered in a monotone.

"I still fail to see your problem" Mycroft said, trying to control his rising ire.

"My problem is that, I've barely managed to work out how to make calls and do a simple texting exchange. I haven't figured out all the other fancy functions of it!" John answered him with frustration.

"Forwarding a text is hardly a 'fancy function' of a phone." Mycroft told him condescendingly.

"It is if you have to navigate between the touch screen functions and the keyboard functions of it." John told him miffed. "I need time to figure out where to hold and where to tap..."

"Oh for heaven's sake." Mycroft said rolling his eyes. "It's a Nokia N97, not one of NASA's super computers."

John glared at him, then held out the phone to him, "Fine, you do it then. Since you think it's such a simple task."

Mycroft raised an eyebrow at john, then took the offered phone.

*Ten minutes later*

Both men are bent over the phone and trying to figure out what to do.

*Ping*

"Oh for the love of-" Mycroft growls, "give us a break Sherlock!"

"He keeps sending 'have you done it?'. Is he always this impatient?" John asked Mycroft in exasperation.

"This is him being patient." Mycroft grumbled.

"Have you figured out how to forward the text yet? You sounded pretty confidant a few minutes ago."

"I've never used any Nokia phones before; I'm not familiar with their layout." Mycroft admitted.

Both men raised their heads at the sound of clacking heels approaching them. Anthea came out of the shadows towards them, still texting away on her blackberry. She stood in front of them, put away her own phone, and held out her hand to Mycroft.

Mycroft silently handed her the phone, and the PA did a few quick taps on it. John and Mycroft watched her in awe.

"All done." Anthea said smugly, and handed the phone back to John. Both men looked at her dumbfounded.

"Amateurs!" Anthea said with a smirk and sauntered away.

And that is why Sherlock dragged John halfway across London to send the text. He knew this would happen... ;)

Getting used to a new phone is hard, I'm still discovering new functions on my phone after a year and half from buying it!
