AS IF BY MAGIC
Backstory: Dillamond is trying to prove there is no difference between Animals and Humans. Elphaba helps Dr. Dillamond with his studies (as seen in the book) and later Fiyero helps them as well. (I'm guessing after the Lion Cub scene, it's hard to tell). At this time they have proved there is no difference between Animals and Humans.
Dr. Dillamond: Dear Oz, I can't believe it. Can it be? We've really done it.
Fiyero: It looks like you have.
Elphaba: But how?
F: Must've been (F/E): the heat of our hands.
Dr. D: Children no matter now who could've imagined, when this night began. (E/D): We'd see the success of our plan!
F: As if by magic!
E: As if by magic!
D: As if by maaaaaaaaaaaaagic!
D: We've achieved crystallization!
E: How is it crystal clear?
F/E/D: Still this calls for a celebration!
F: Tell me, do Goats drink beer?
E: Aren't you the wonder?
F: Aren't you the one?
D: Through science!
E: Luck!
F: And blunder!
F/E/D: Instead, as if by magic! As if by magic!
F/D: As if by magic!
E: No, I'll be making good, undertaking new inventions and discoveries- talk about your great discoveries!
F/E/D: Time to raise our glasses!
D: Make a toast in joy.
E: To the greatest Goat!
F: Girl!
E: And boy!
F/E/D: As if by magic!
They dance, Dr. Dillamond does a jig and Elphaba and Fiyero waltz. They hear a knock.
D: Oh no, don't open the door.
Knocks again.
E: I better see who it is.
D: Master Fiyero! Hide that will you?
Fiyero hides equipment under a cushion as Elphaba opens the door a crack peering out.
E: Oh! It's just Madame Morrible.
Morrible: I saw the light! What are you doing here, Elphaba? What is all this commotion?
E: Oh Madame, the most wonderful thing has happened!
D: Miss Elphaba…
E: We discovered PROOF
D: Miss Elphaba! Don't interrupt your elders. Madame, this young woman has simply been helping an old goat pack up so I can leave here.
M: Ah, yes see, well that's very kind of you Elphaba but it's way past curfew.
E: Oh, yes sorry Madame
F: Oh, can't she at least wait here until the storm subsides?
M: What business is it of yours, Fiyero?
E: Madame we only meant…
M: Alright never mind I see the young man's point.
She crosses to the window, opens it, makes a sudden violent gesture and the storm stops.
M: Hm, didn't I ever mention, weather is my specialty? Come along Miss Elphaba, Fiyero.
Fiyero and Elphaba follow her out. Dillamond is left alone in the laboratory he takes out the crystals from where Fiyero concealed them when suddenly there is once again a knock on the door.
Knocking.
D: Oh Miss Elphaba, did you forget something?
He crosses to the door.
D: Miss Elphaba is that you?
He opens it. We do not see who is behind it.
D: No, no…
-End scene-
I cannot say what happens here, but I'm assuming this was when they were using more of a book story line and Dillamond was killed by grommetik, I do not know what the crystals meant in this so yea.
