The first thing I noticed when I started to wake was the constant ache of my body. Almost like every muscle in my body was pulsing along side my heart. A groan left me when my attempts to move made the pulsing stop and be replaced with straight on wails of protest. Looking around I was greeted by a sterile room. The kind of sterile that hospitals and other medical places have perfected. Taking a deep breath I made a quick move to get out of bed. All that I was able to do was successfully pull myself into a sitting position followed by deep breaths in an attempt to gain some control of my enough time had passed and I felt up to moving again I slowly lowered myself to the floor. As my feet connected with the cold hardwood a hiss passed through my teeth. Every limb felt heavy and alien as I maneuvered towards one of two doors in the room. The geometric cool metal handle in my hand clicked quiet loudly as I heaved the solid door open.
I triumphantly chuckled as a very sterile looking bathroom came into view. Aided by the steel bars along the walls I set about on relieving myself and freshening up with the unopened toiletries that rested on the counter besides the sink. Once again about to heave the heavy door open I was halted by the click of the other door being opened. A shiver ran up my spine and the hand holding the doorknob clutched at the cool metal. Then all at once every muscle in my body relaxed as the low voice of Mystogan called out for me with concern.
Heaving the door open with renewed energy I launched myself into the surprised arms of Mystogan. A low grunt was heard as we fell to the ground from the force of my hug. This bastard had made me worry. Who the hell did he think he was leaving me behind so he could go deal with the problem all by himself?
A wave of nausea hit me as my mind supplied me with a picture of Laxus. He was the problem that Mystogan had to deal with. His eyes had gone completely white and lightning had rippled off of him in a dangerously hypnotizing way. That man I saw was not my brother. Well not the one I remembered. For the first time in my life Laxus had scared me. He had made me doubt if my brother was waiting for me to come back or if Ivan's son was waiting.
A hand wiping away tears that had unbenounced started falling from my eyes snapped me out of my revery. Looking into Mystogan's eyes a broken sob erupted from me. His eyes. That's all I could see, he was back to wearing his headpiece.I could no longer see his red tattoo, crazy blue hair, or cautious smile he always seemed to wear. I clutched on to him harder as intense sobs racked my body at the realization that I had returned to a broken family and that the man in front of me was not the one I had come to befriend on the journey home.
He held onto me with almost the same intensity that I held onto him as if he had read my mind and was trying to reassure me that he was still with me. I had waited for so long to come home and the place that I had returned to felt wrong: this was not home. Soon my mind became a whirlwind of different thought zooming through. . I miss Juvia. How Natsu had changed. Where was everybody? Where was Laxus?
))
How was I supposed to tell her. How was I supposed to tell the breaking blonde in my arms that her brother was gone. That he had been banished by Master. The man she called grandfather had sent away her brother. Of course Master had said Laxus could stay and wait for Lucy to wake up but Laxus had refused. He had left in the night with no explanation of any kind to Lucy. Just the thought of what the man had not only done to Fairy Tail but Lucy had my blood boiling again. How was she going to handle learning that over the years she had been gone that Laxus and Master had began falling into bad her brother who had promised to protect their family had tried to destroy it. How was she supposed to come home only to realize that it may not be the home that she was looking for. That bastard could have at least tried to stay and help her work through some of this. But no instead he had run with his tail between his legs not man enough to accept the fact that he screwed up. As my anger began to rise another thought struck me.
If it were not for the blonde in my arms I would have killed that man. A shudder of my own ran through my body as I pulled Lucy closer. Of all the things I had done in my life I had never taken another's life. It created an empty feeling in my gut knowing that I had come so close to breaking my own very slim moral code. The girl in my arms was both the reason for me beating the man so badly and for stopping. Ever since I had found her in the dark guild the little blonde had grown on me almost like the little girl from before. Except the little girl did not leave my mind a mess the way lucy did.
Taking a deep breath I picked Lucy up and returned her to the bed. Her violent sobs had started to die down and the poor girl looked exhausted. Her whole world had been turned upside down yesterday. Master and the rest of the guild had been filled with excitement to learn that Lucy was alive. However, they also were curious about how she survived, where she had been, and how she had ended up in the phantom guild. All the same questions that had plagued my mind for the weeks that I had known her. From the beginning of our little journey she had stated that she was not ready to talk about the things she had experienced. Plus I couldn't very well dig into her mysterious past without telling her some of my own and that damn sure wasn't going to happen
Master walked in and broke me from my dark thoughts. "I see she's asleep again." Looking down I realized he was right Lucy had cried herself to sleep. The slight puff of her eyes being the only hint that the girl had even woke up in the first place. Master slowly advanced towards Lucy and I with a sad smile. He came to stand beside me and look down at his granddaughter . For awhile we just stood in silence and watched over the sleeping girl.
"Mystogan, my boy, how will I ever thank you enough for bringing her back to us? " Before I could open my mouth to deny needing to be was shaking his head and turning to leave. "How could any of us thank you for finding the light of Fairy Tail?" And with those words he left me alone with Lucy again. Looking back down at her I couldn't help but smile at how accurate that was. I had only spent a week with her and she had brightened up world. This begged the question how was I going to leave her after all this?
So... Please don't hate me. I abandoned my stories for so long. All Hihypergirl was super bad about keeping up with stuff but, this is new Hihypergirl. Also, i'm hoping that my writing style has improved alittle since the last time I updated. Like alway comments are also welcomed and feel free to message me. Love you guys.
