Well this one hasn't been updated in a while... Sorry about that all of you readers, as always life has a way of getting in the way of what we really want to do... but anyways here's the next installment of Ron Stoppable, Rise of the Monkey King!
Last time on Rise of the Monkey King:
"Ron jumped over the edge of the building and went to find his girls, thankfully they were all together, taking a step towards him he began to fall. Then the world shifted again."
Rise of the Monkey King:
The Movements of an Empire
-Western Headquarters of Senior Enterprises, London, England, Top floor of Senior Tower London-
The room was full of men and women in expensive suits sitting around a large oak table, out of the window set up behind the head of the table an unobscured view of London could be seen, the Eye spinning as always alongside the River that allowed the great city to even form. At the head of the table a tired and worn looking man sat, his charcoal suit and white shirt were perhaps the simplest suit in the room but cost easily twice as much as the next closest in price, the man ran a wrinkled hand through his silver hair as he sighed slightly. Adjusting his reading glasses the old man took the file in his hand and tossed it across the table the carefully crafted forecasts and market predictions spilling out of the file and cluttering the otherwise near empty table.
"Would one of you be so kind," The Spanish tilt to the older man's English gave it a refined edge that made almost everyone in the room sit up a little straighter, behind the man, the only standing person in the room eyed each one of the men and women who surrounded the board table. "As to tell me why we have allowed Senior Enterprises to fall into this kind of threat level? Johnathon? Amile? Susana? Any of you?"
The owners of the names called flinched slightly at the growing anger in the old man's voice. One of the figures near the back of the long table cleared his voice slightly and raised a hand, everyone near the brave idiot of a man looked away and distanced themselves from him. Senior Senior Senior looked the man with a raised brow deciding that one of them might not be a mindless sheep after all.
"Yes Killian?" The olive skinned elder statesmen turned his head slightly as the thin pale man stood moving the mop of black hair out of his face and adjusted his glasses slightly revealing sharp green eyes.
"Well Mr. Senior Senior, the fault lies in of course us, the upper management, and our…" The Junior president looked up the table eyeing several of his bosses. "…inability to differentiate between a risk and a suicide run. That and the refusal to risk once some loses were incurred. As well as a lack from some of us to risk the wrath of our superiors to act out of turn, and for the later I do apologize."
Senior looked the Junior President in the eye, he had known about some of the trading habits and risk trends of his senior management but that in and off itself wouldn't have put them at a projected loss, even if those trends were to be maintained Senior Enterprises should have had a firm enough hold on its portfolio and the diversity of its subsidiaries should have absorbed the losses by multiple times. There was something more going on than the service answer given by who was likely a planned sacrifice by the upper management of his company, give one of the promising Junior Presidents a trail to follow to try and undermine them only for him to make a fool of himself.
"It's fine young Killian, you cannot be expected to put yourself at extended risk, although I will take what you have said into consideration," Senior felt a hand on his shoulder, his body guard Raoul leaned down and whispered something into his ear causing Senior to stand and start walking. "Walk with me Killian, this company has been around in one form or another for over 250 years Ladies and Gentleman. I refuse for you to put it on a course that will cause the transfer to my son next year to be in worse shape than when I received it from my own father. You will all find out how to change the predictions and make them more positive."
Moving slowly Killian followed behind Senior Senior out the door and into one of the elevators heading down. Senior gave his bodyguard a look that caused the man to nod and wait for the next lift. Pushing the button for the ground floor Senior sighed and allowed his body to sag slightly his years catching up to him.
"You are what Killian 28 now?" the young Irishman looked shocked for a moment. Shaking his head the man looked a little away.
"26 sir, I'll be 27 in a few months." Senior sighed at the man's response smiling a little and nodding his head as the elevator ticked down floors, reaching forward Senior hit the stop button for the elevator bringing it to a stop.
"Youth and ambition are both wasted on the young, but you seem to be using yours well," Senior looked at the young man from the corner of his eye the young man had two Masters in business from ESCP in London, as well as several other degrees in a variety of fields. He had taken advantage of the reimbursement program that Senior Enterprises offered, the young man had started in the mail rooms at the age of 14, he lied during the interview but Senior allowed it, the young man was someone that Senior Sr kept an eye on over the years, an investment that was starting to show large returns.
"Th-Thank you sir." The young man smiled a little ducking his heads in thanks for the complement.
"I want you to do some investigating Killian, into the company for me, you and three people that you trust, one from outside the company to be a third party… I want answers William Killian, figure out what they're doing and fix it. You've worked for my company for over 10 years now, and by the way, for your 24th Birthday I'd love to send you and your fiancé on a honeymoon consider it a wedding gift."
Senior hit the resume button and watched the composed man's jaw drop in disbelief. It was always nice to remind the younger generation that the older one was to still be feared and respected.
"How long did you…" Killian got his mouth to work properly again after a moment.
"I always knew that you were under-aged when you signed on with my company, young Killian, I do review all of the interviews before accepting of course." Senior didn't even look towards the young man or wait for the follow up question. "I allowed it because of your eyes, you held a fire even then that told me that you had great things in your future. Ah, our floor, please do give Kanti my congratulation on your upcoming nuptials as well, and ask her if you had a destination in mind or would you rather a surprise?"
"O-Of course sir…" The Young man followed the older out, of the elevator and into the lobby of the grand building, the body guard was already waiting there for him, the car, an armoured Rolls-Royce Phantom sat waiting outside the glass front of the building. Killian watched as the old man walked away into the misting London day, the light rain not enough to send the sun behind cover even if people on the street were ducking into shops and store fronts. It had been hard years but Killian knew where he wanted to be…
-70,000 feet above the ground over the Atlantic in a small Jet headed away from the rising sun-
Ron awoke, groggily at first he felt a slight rocking in the ground around him even as he began placing the mix of voices that he heard.
"Really, we are happy that you are all safe that had to have been quiet the ordeal… unfortunately I know firsthand how damaging summons of that kind can be," That one was new to him, trying to remember what happened Ron felt his eyes flutter only for him to crunch them shut again after the light seared his vision. Where the hell did all of the light come from, letting out a moan Ron tried to sit up only for him to collapse back down.
"Shh, it's ok Omo," Ron was again surrounded by the smell of cherry blossoms as he felt his head gently picked up and laid down into a soft warm pillow. Cracking an eye again, Ron smiled at the sight of Yori having her head turned slightly and laughing at something, turning he head slightly Ron saw Tara and Bonnie together on one of the nearby couches, then it all came back to him, sitting up quickly Ron again clenched his eyes shut as he hissed out in pain.
"Alright there Ron?" The sound of the male voice caused Ron to open his eyes and face Sam who now instead of just Lily pinned to his side, he had a silver haired woman opposite of Lily and a petite Black haired woman curled up on his lap, seemingly asleep. Nodding his head he felt a bit of pain. He had always felt drained after using a lot of MMP, but the pain was new.
"The pain comes from you nullifying the miasma of the area around you for extended periods of time." The woman in Sam's lap opened her crimson eyes and smiled at him as she turned her head slightly, "you have to understand that what you did was no simple feat, Asmodeus is a master of manipulating areas even outside of his own influence. You should have by rights been put to sleep, the fact that you weren't? Simply astounding, I apologize, Katarina Deluna, Sorceress of the silver Isles."
"Ron Stoppable… ninja?" Ron was enchanted by the petite woman's voice it was so rich despite coming from such a small body. Feeling Yori push in on his side Ron shook his head slightly as another pang of pain hit. Sam sighed and flicked the girl on his lap on the nose causing her to eek a little and start rubbing it.
"We don't entrance the Great Sage Kat," The droll tone of Sam's caused the two girls on either side of him to start laughing a little under their hands, an inside joke of some sort, Kat puffed up a cheek as she started pulling at Sam's face.
"Don't try and act cool now Mister." At this point all of the people in the jet started to laugh at the sight of the small woman messing with the man. Ron looked out the window and sighed at the sight of the dawn they seemed to be almost fleeing, the red in the rising light caused him to smile a little and for a second he felt a head fall onto the shoulder that Yori wasn't leaning on… wait… Looking away from the window Ron saw Bonnie's brown hair against his still armor covered shoulder.
"Thanks Stoppable," her voice was quiet, hidden under the sound of the laughter of everyone else, Ron slipped an arm around the woman and simply let it rest there.
"Any time Bon-Bon." His voice equally soft he looked out the window again seeing the red fade away into the light of day, grieve but move on… what was the right speed to do that though… watching the last of the red disappear Ron turned and joined in on the laughter.
-Deep in the mountains of Japan-
A spark of electricity seemed to run across the surface of a statue… the nearby wild life paused in their business as a tremble could be felt through the air… only for them to return to their own cycles of life.
