Chapter 3

Yugi, Yami, Cyndy, and I looked up at Kaibia, shocked to see that he was here. What could he want so late at night? Cyndy glanced over at me.

"Who's that?" she whispered.

"That's Kaiba," I replied in a whisper. "He's Yugi's rival in the show."

"What do you think he wants?"

"I dunno. But, we'll find out soon enough. Count on it."

Yugi stood up and walked over to the older boy, Yami, who was still in his ghost-looking form, followed after him. "Hi Kaiba. What do you need?"

"Yugi, I am here to-"

"Get Grandpa's Blue-Eyes?" I questioned, wondering if it was going by Season 1 of the Anime or not.

Kaiba glanced over at where Cyndy and I were still sitting. "If you must know, I already took it and ripped it to bits!"

So this takes place after that.. And where Pegasus took Grandpa's soul then... Aw.. I wanted to try and fight that creep.. Oh well. So this is before Battle City then.. I think...

I snorted. "That was low of you to do Kaiba."

The teen shrugged. "I don't care. I did what I had to do to make sure it would never be used against me."

"It was still pretty low of you rich boy."

"You wanna start something kid?"

"Only if you think you're man enough to fight me, Kaiba."

Cyndy put a hand on my shoulder, trying to calm me down. "Easy Talesy.. No need to start something."

I shrugged her hand off, glancing at the rich kid. "I'll start something alright. Kaiba, you and I duel. Now."

"Duel?" Yugi gasped. "But he's pretty tough!"

"I can take him." I crossed my arms. "After all, I learned from the King of Games how to duel."

"You learned from Yugi?" Kaiba laughed. "You'll be just as easy to beat as Wheeler!"

"We'll see about that rich-boy!"

"Then let's duel."

"Fine."

The two of us got our Duel Disks ready. It lit up and both our life points started at 4000. I put my deck in itself spot and glanced up Kaiba.

"I hope you're ready to loose rich-boy."

"We'll see kid."

"Duel!" the two of us yelled.

"I'll go first!" I drew another card from my deck, now having six cards in my hands.

Key Mouse, Chain Dog, Monster Reborn, Lock Cat, Fox Fire, and Kuriboh. Well, this is a fine way to start off the duel! I thought, letting out a sigh. What was I thinking? Dueling Kaibia? I'm so gonna loose this..

"Hurry up!" Kaiba called. "I don't have all day."

"Fine. I summon Key Mouse in defence mode!"

The little monster appeared on the filed, crouched down, glaring at the rich teenager. Kaiba stared at the small rodent on the field for a heartbeat, before he began laughing.

"Is that the best you can come up with?"

Key Mouse glare harder, and he let out little angry squeaks, jumping up and down. Cyndy, Yugi, and Yami watched, though they looked a bit worried.

"You think she can beat him?" the 14 year old asked.

The 17 year old shrugged his shoulders. "I dunno. Kaiba's not easy to beat. Yami and I know that.. And she must know too, seeing as how she learned to duel from us. However, as long as she tries her hardest, and trusts in the heart of the cards, then, she can do this."

Yami nodded. "That's right."

Cyndy blinked, and nodded after a moment. "Alright then."

~Time SKip~ (AN: I'm too lazy to type out the duel, and I don't know Kaiba's cards by heart. I know, great fan I am, huh?)

"And, that's game, Kaiba!" I said, as the duel finished.

Wow, I watch Yu-Gi-Oh GX way too much... I thought.

Kaiba growled and glared at me with his blue eyes. I smirked and crossed my arms, and stuck my tongue out at him.

"Sore looser."

"Just wait kid, you got lucky this time.." he told me. "But next time, you or Yugi won't be so lucky! I'll take both of you down. You'll see."

"Yeah, sure. Whatever you say, rich-boy."

He glared at me before he left the Game Shop. I blinked, having realized something.

"Huh, he never did tell us why he was here."

Yugi high-fived me. "That's true, but hey, you beat Kaiba!"

Yami nodded. "You did good kid."

"You did awesome," Cyndy added.

Grandpa nodded in agreement. "Beating him isn't an easy thing to do. My grandson had a bit of a hard type beating him. You did too it seems..."

I gave a small nod, looking down at my Duel Monster cards still in my hands. "I know. It was touch and go there for awhile. I was sure Kaiba was going to beat me when he brought all of his Blue-Eyes White Dragon cards out!"

"But hey, you turned the duel around at the last second!"

"Yeah, barely."

"You still did."

"Alright kids, off to bed. You have school tomorrow," Grandpa told us.

All three of us groaned, and Yami chuckled at the fact that none of us liked the idea of going to school. Yugi and Yami headed back up to their room, and Cyndy and I had to sleep on the couch and floor.

After fighting with Cyndy for hours over who got what, I was on the couch, and she was on the floor. I felt bad for her. I told her she could have the couch, and I'd take the floor, but she wouldn't stand for it.

She was a very hard-headed friend of mine.

I wonder what it will be like at school tomorrow? I thought. Maybe it'll be a big funnier then school in the real world. Or maybe just as boring. I hope we don't run into an of the bullies there. But if we do, I'll happily duel their asses...
