Sharon sighed happily, flopping onto her back on the soft green grass. Break, ever faithful, sat at her side. "What's with the sigh, my lady? Is something the matter?" He asked concernedly, looking at his mistress with a raised eyebrow. Sharon smiled at him gently. "Nothing's wrong. Why would you think that?" Break shrugged, flopping onto his back beside her. "When someone sighs, it generally means that they are upset or otherwise displeased." Sharon grinned. "Well, that was my happy sigh."
Break chuckled and looked up to the sky. "My lady, may I ask you a question?" He inquired curiously. "Yes, what is it?" Sharon turned to face Break, interested at what her manservant could be thinking. The Mad Hatter paused for a second before asking "What is the day like today? Please describe it to me, if that's not too much to ask." Sharon smiled serenely. "Well, it's sunny out and the grass is green and there are a lot of pretty flowers. The sky is blue and there are a few fluffy white clouds. The sun is shining."
She sighed and stared up at the clouds with a thoughtful smile. "Oh, Break! There's a rainbow!" She giggled. Break grinned at his mistress's childishness.
Sharon suddenly had a thought. "You know, I once heard a song about a rainbow." Break laughed, eyebrows raised. Sharon scowled at him and playfully smacked him with her fan. "Ow!" Break yelped, rubbing his arm where the noble lady had smacked him. Said girl pouted. "I was serious." Break nodded. "Well, how did that song go?" He asked. "You expect me to sing it for you?!" Sharon yelped, suddenly thankful that her companion couldn't see her blush. Break smiled and nodded. "If you will. Come on, my lady! It's just the two of us out here." Sharon sighed. "Fine!" She took a deep breath and began to sing, but she was singing so quietly that she was practically mouthing the words. Break looked puzzled. "What? Speak up." He chuckled. Sharon glared at him and started her song over again, slightly louder this time. Break smiled and gently took her hand in his.
"Somewhere over the rainbow Somewhere over the rainbow Someday I'll wish upon a star Somewhere over the rainbow Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me
Bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why, then, oh why can't I?
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true"
Sharon ended the song, smiling and blushing. She looked down, seeing that Break was holding her hand. She blushed more, looking away from her and her companion's joined hands. Break used his other hand to tilt her face to look into his eye. He let go of her face and used his free hand to trace down her forehead, over her eyes and eyebrows, down her nose, and to her lips. He kissed her forehead, each of her eyes, and the tip of her nose. As Break went down her face, Sharon blushed more and more. Finally, Break leaned in and softly kissed her lips. He pulled away before she could even register what he was doing, let alone slap him or kiss him back. The Rainsworth heiress just sat there, shocked, as her servant offered her his hand and pulled her into standing. Holding her hand, he lead her carefully down the hill. Said servant smiled calmly at her. "I liked that song, and Sharon, you know you have a lovely voice."
