And so here it is, the final chapter to finish my story. I would like to thank all my readers for sticking to this story and taking this journey with me. I would also like to thank everyone who reviewed and gave their thoughts for my story. I hope you all enjoy this last chapter. It is time to work on my other stories for now :)
Please keep reviewing and let me know what you think because maybe I will write a sequel for this, but I will need time to come up with a story line so we will see.
Chapter 46
Hermione's POV
Looking upon Gondor a sigh of relief escapes my lips, Violet was not used to being out in the wild like we had been for the past few weeks. Her temper was at its limit.
As we approached the white city Legolas told us stories regarding the city. We left our horses at the stables and made our way to where Aragorn now lived. As soon as we got to the top we were stopped by armed guards,
'What business do you have that requires you to enter the house of the King? Speak quickly.'
'We are friends with the King, we have travelled here from Mirkwood. I am Legolas Prince of Mirkwood, these are my friends.' Legolas replied
'Very well I will take you to the King,' we followed the guard through many halls.
I knew I would not be able to find my way out of this place any time soon. But I cared not I was too excited to see Aragorn again. My heart started racing as we got further and further into the home. Suddenly fear gripped at my heart. What if he was mad at me? What if he won't want to see me? What if he forgot who I was? And just like that I felt myself slow down to a stop,
'Why did you stop walking mummy?' Violet asked,
I could not give her an answer instead I told her that I needed a moment to myself. But of course Legolas being Legolas would not let me dwell on my fears on my own,
'Come my elfling what is bothering you so much?' I cringed
'Must you call me that? I have a daughter now.'
'I know, but that does not mean you are not young. So tell me, what is the matter? You should know better than to shut your thoughts away from me,' he said sternly forcing me to look him in the eye,
'It's silly.'
'Tell me,' Legolas whispered,
And so I did. I told him my fears and of course he bushed it of saying that I was indeed too paranoid. With that he held my hand and we continued our walk towards Aragorn.
As soon as the guard stopped he knocked on the door and a young man answered it. The two spoke quickly, the young man looked at us and smiled and opened the door for us to enter.
There he was sitting amongst a pile of paper work frowning slightly. He looked up as we came,
'Legolas my friend, I did not know you were travelling in this direction.' He said embracing his friend,
'Ah but then I would have ruined the surprise.' Aragorn frowned as Legolas moved to one side
Our eyes met, my heart still pounding,
'This cannot be. But how?' before I could answer Aragorn had pulled me into a hug.
'I have missed you,'
'And I you my elfling.'
We spent that night catching up on lost time. Gimli was also very pleased to see us again. All was well within our world. Violet had quickly grown very fond of Aragorn. I knew she would not want to leave anytime soon.
A few weeks later and we had yet to leave. Violet had grown very fond of Aragorn and considered him a father. This was not healthy but I also could not blame her for this. I had also gotten once again very close to Aragorn in these past few weeks. We had spent many nights talking and laughing again. Just getting to know each other.
It was the night of a party that we had planned to have and I was in my room getting ready. I had to borrow a dress for the night because I did not yet have a dress in this world. For I was unsure of where we would end up. I dressed in a silver dress which sparkled which every movement I made. I went over to help Violet who happened to also have to borrow a dress which was a little pink one. Oh how I wish I had a camera I thought to myself as I put a white ribbon in Violets hair.
'Oh darling you look so lovely, I shall have to try and make a dress like this one for you to keep,' I said,
I walked out holding my daughters hand and Legolas was waiting outside dressed in blues and silvers,
'You my dear Violet looks very pretty,' He said picking her up and spinning her, I smiled as Violet giggled.
'And you Hermione, look stunning. Will you allow me to escort you both to the celebration?' He asked,
'That would be lovely,' I replied accepting his hand.
The music was gentle and everyone in Gondor had dressed up for this fine event. There was mostly dancing and people chatting happily away. Children were running around playing,
'Violet honey, would you like to go and play with the other children?' I asked,
'No, I don't know them, they might not like me,' she replied as I bent down to her level,
'Oh sweetie how could they not like you? Alright perhaps after dinner then,' I said standing up.
Aragorn was sitting in the middle of a well spread out table, next to him were four spare seats. As we approached Aragorn stood up, his eyes lingered on me for a moment,
'You two ladies look very lovely indeed, come have a seat.'
Once we were seated and Aragorn was standing everyone in the hall stopped what they were doing,
'I would like to thank you all for coming to this ball. I do not wish to keep you from your dancing, but dinner will be served soon.' Aragorn said and he sat down,
After some food Violet was ready to go and play with the children. I looked over every now and again and it looked like she was having fun. I smiled happy that she was making some friends in this world. For I knew not how long we would be here for. She needed people her own age to play with.
Legolas and Gimli had left to partake in a drinking game. I was about to go over and watch but Aragorn held me back,
'I wish to speak with you. Would you do me the honour?' He asked looking at me,
'Yes, is there somewhere we could go that is not too noisy?'
'Follow me,' he replied,
We did not walk for too long, and when he stopped I looked around and noticed we were in a garden.
No One's POV
'I have missed you more than you know.' Aragorn whispered holding Hermione's hand,
'As I you,' Hermione whispered taking a step closer.
'Hermione, I mean it. That night I kissed you when you were asleep. I meant it. There was a reason why I no longer wished to be the one who was in charge with you.' Aragorn said taking a step closer.
Hermione could feel his breath on her and she relaxed as his forest scent overwhelmed her senses. It was as if he had sent her into a daze. The world had stopped. Aragorn looked deep into Hermione's eyes as if waiting for the moment to catch her sweet lips. Hermione smiled she could tell he was nervous so she leaned in just enough for Aragorn to take over.
Under the sky of starlight, Aragorn tilted his head and brushed gently on her lips. Hermione did not fight him off, instead she deepened the kiss and in that moment none existed but those two. Slowly they broke the kiss off and Aragorn looked at Hermione as if she was the light that could conquer the all darkness in the world.
