A/N ;; So, I wrote this entire time in about fifteen minutes, it's three in the morning in my timezone right now, I'm tired as all hell, but I couldn't resist posting this. I just had to. I'm pretty sure I'm the first one who has thought of writing a fanfiction about this – and if I actually am, I am very proud of myself.

Anyway, this will contain crack. Lots of it.

I don't know when this will be updated. Whenever I have another something prepared for it, I suppose. I don't even know what to call this first part. Chapter one? A prologue? I don't know.

Enjoy.

The Maple Syrup Heist of 2012

-This was probably a bad idea from the start-

In hindsight, Canada probably should have realized that entertaining an idea from the self-proclaimed awesome Prussia was a bad idea. Anything that came from Prussia's mouth, accompanied by his signature hissing laughter, couldn't be good. He had had years of experience to learn this lesson, and yet, it just never seemed to stick in his mind.

It really was too bad.

Later, when he looked back on that day with maybe some not-so-fond memories, he realized he probably shouldn't have answered that call from Prussia, as his name accompanied with a little picture of a chick had showed up on his cellphone.

He probably should closed the door in Prussia's face when he arrived on the doorstep with armfuls of blueprints.

He probably shouldn't have let him into the house, be convinced into making him a fresh batch of pancakes, and let Prussia shove everything off his kitchen table to lay out the blueprints he had brought.

He probably shouldn't have asked what exactly those blueprints were for.

And he probably should have thrown that batch of pancakes in Prussia's face when he announced, with a proud grin adorning his face, "We're going on a heist."

But Canada hadn't done any of that.

Instead, he had sat himself down on the chair opposite from Prussia, rested his chin in his palm as he listened to Prussia explain the plan he had come up with between mouthfuls of pancake, and had actually considered the possibility of being able to pull this thing off.

It had been a bad idea from the start.

It was too bad Canada hadn't known that at the time.
