Random: Hey guys, *assuming you stuck around* I'm sorry for the extra long wait but me and this story kind of had a falling out.

Story: I forgive you.

Random: Oh thanks, actually it was because I kind of got involved with a guy but it's all over now and I'm back possibly better than ever. It took a while to leech out of that one but you don't really care because now yo probably want the end of this story more than my tragic life. Hahaha, such is the life of an author. Anyway, I just finished taking my College Entrance Exams and it's been a real storm for me. I got into Rush lately. You might even see me make a Rush fanfiction one of these days. Possibly an X-Men AU. Yeah. That's a great idea. I should definitely get on that. I'm trying to get my grades back up but I guess I'll just have to wait it out. To be honest the first part of this chapter was sort of floating around while I was going through my teenage problems.

To answer a guest's question (Whoever you are, thank you for reviewing!) this is a Pokemon Fanfic in a Star Trek Universe. None of the characters from Star Trek actually appear here. Also, I saw a Bat'leth in a picture. Although I couldn't get a clear view on it I thought there would be a point where the blade was marginally duller, so yeah. I'm sorry for the inaccuracy. I try. I just want to finish this up without embarrassing myself. I might as well put you all out of your misery too. So, here goes nothing.

In the words of Aaron Warner Anderson from Shatter Me…

"Love is a heartless bastard."

Random: God, I missed writing fanfiction. I only own Arya, Zeke, Victoria, Violet, Amethyst, and those messed up Kaios guys. I'm horrible at making villains.

Chapter 18: The World I Know

No One

It's like you're floating. Like you're everywhere and nowhere all at once, and no one can fish you out of the darkness. And you sit there, you stand there, you exist there waiting for the white light at the end of the darkness to take you away, the pain, after erupting from your very core, dulling with time. You can feel yourself fading. You can feel yourself slipping int—

Arya…

The white light, it's…

Arya.

Something is calling.

Arya, please.

Someone…

Arya, don't –

There is a light behind her, there is a light in front of her. She takes a step back into pain or forward into peace. She steps forward—

Arya!

She feels the breath draining out of her and breathes in sharply. She gets a vision of three sets of eyes. Crystal. Gold. And the most painful of all, a strange mix of Ruby and Sapphire. She can hear panting, like the breath of a person who ran a thousand miles, the voice of a person who is desperate. She can feel the person's heart breaking through their voice and feels completely helpless. She doesn't move, she can't move. It was worse than existing in the darkness. She decides she does not like this feeling and attempts to slip back into the dark, cold, world of unconsciousness.

Arya, we need you!

'Arya… is that me? I'm Arya. And those people, I know those people.' She thinks as she turns around and stares at the light glaring brightly from behind her. She takes two steps forward and feels a gushing pain in her chest. She clutches at the point of herself where she felt the pain. 'Was the light worth this? Should I turn to the other path? It feels like I should…' she thought. She was talking to herself in a world surrounded by endless abyss, clueless of what is even going on. She clearly isn't equipped to make this decision right now.

I need you…

The person is sobbing now. She could feel… warmth. It spread through her, calling her back from the darkness. It was calling her home and painting her pictures of a small white house with a fence. It reminded her of two taller forms speaking to her with words of kindness. It reminded her of eyes of sparkling yellow and clear blue. It reminded her of creatures long extinct in a land lost to darkness, it reminded her of hope in the form of flashing blue lights and stunning machinery. And most of all, it reminded her of a boy with dark hair…

I love you.

A boy who loved her.

"Zeke…" she managed to say with difficulty. The light from behind her started to consume her and so did the pain. Why does there have to be pain? She wondered to herself if it was worth choosing this path. A voice in her mind whispered that it was. You can never know good without the bad, you can never know love without pain, you can never know joy without sorrow, and you can never win without losing.

Arya… Stay with me.

'Forever.' She wanted to say. She struggled towards the light until her vision blurred. Then, her vision cleared. The boy, the owner of the voice, was standing over her. She felt the urge to say forever again. So she did…

"Forever" she smiled.

She was back in the abyss again, except this time she felt a deep sensation of hope. She didn't feel oppressed by this abyss. She cradled the warmth that lingered in her fingertips as she floated in sweet oblivion, waiting for the day she would finally break free.

Gold

After Gold shot Kaios the ship was in a state of complete pandemonium. Federation Officials began to circle the ship, taking in Klingon after Klingon into custody for breaking some sort of intergalactic rule. Gold's mind blurred to only the fighting and none of his thoughts even drifted to the Prime Directive or any of that legal stuff he learned in Star Fleet. After all of this, Star Fleet and days as Ruby's roommate seemed so far away. They had pried Pearl off of Arya after he performed the blood transfusion on her and dragged him away too for using treatment that was not approved by regulations. Victoria jumped to his defense and got stunned. The doctor went into a rage, screaming that she was injured before getting stunned as well. When they were about to escort Red to their ship, Red's loyal Bridge Crew stood to block them. Red had motioned them away, afraid that they would end up in the same position as Victoria and Pearl. Ruby and Sapphire stood with Zeke, the future Sapphire had willingly gone with the Officials to explain her cause. Zeke managed to watch her go without flinching, Gold assumed it was because he was standing next to Arya.

And speaking of Arya, the girl was breathing softly in Gold's arms. He refused to let Zeke hold the girl who he now knew was his daughter and Crystal had been fussing over her quietly next to him. He pondered on their relationship more as they were coaxed into the Federation Ship. They were going to be brought back to the Federation Base in San Francisco for questioning. Gold didn't even care as he watched Crystal lay Arya's head in her lap when they sat down, not minding that Gold was sitting next to her and was openly staring at her. She didn't even try to kick him for carrying Arya like a baby. "She's beautiful" Crystal muttered, brushing a hand through the younger girl's hair. "Of course, she's beautiful. She's your daughter" Gold smiled, seeing the blush on Crystal's face was worth anything and everything. "She's your daughter too, Gold." Crystal pointed out before sadly noticing that Arya had left her weapon on the Armageddon. Arya loved her weapons. "Thank you" Gold grinned. "I didn't mean it like that, Gold" she glared, but Gold only laughed at her. "I see saving the world hasn't changed your opinion of me, Crys" he smiled, albeit more halfheartedly than he normally did. "Hey, Gold" she whispered, and Gold had to lean in to hear her. "Yeah?" he asked, prodding at her with his gaze hopefully. "Yes" Gold raised an eyebrow at her, causing Crystal to laugh. "I'll go on a date with you" she nodded her head and went back to checking on Arya. Sitting there with his daughter and his future wife, Gold couldn't help but feel his heart explode with happiness.

"Great… I'm glad" he said, leaning back and promptly falling asleep.

Ruby

After they were taken to the ship, Sapphire passed out leaning on Ruby's arm. Ruby let her sleep, she must have been exhausted. He himself was too exhausted to even scold her for putting herself and the now growing baby – Zeke, or maybe they would have to think of a different name – in her stomach. Ruby knew it wasn't actually in her stomach but he was too tired to try to recall the term they used. Zeke fidgeted awkwardly next to them. "Are you okay there, Kiel?" Ruby said without even noticing he had used a nickname. The dark haired boy's eyes widened at the nickname. "Dad used to call me that" he whispered. "Well, I am your dad. And you can tell me what's wrong, you know?" Ruby tried his best to smile reassuringly but it probably came off as exasperated. He would have to get used to this fathering thing quickly. "I guess. It's just really weird. Me and Ary, we used to be able to hang out all we want because we only had each other. I've hurt her so many times, I guess from now on I will only ever have to find excuses to even be around her if I can and this… I'm not explaining this right. I'm sorry. You probably don't understand." He slumped in his seat, and for some reason Ruby didn't like to see him so disconcerted. "I understand. I really do." Ruby tried to convince him. "How could you possibly understand?" Zeke sighed. Ruby prepared himself to tell his son the truth, he was ready to reveal the boy who hid his scars under long dark hair.

"Years before first contact, the Earth was filled with rare monsters called Pokemon" he began. "Pocket Monsters" Zeke whispered. "Exactly, they lived and thrived with us. Until, a cold war swept through the Earth and all of the Pokemon were whipped out from existence, some were taken by aliens far away from Earth and we didn't even know about it until we met the Vulcans. That was when Star Fleet began. My father was a Pokemon Gym Leader before he became an Admiral, obsessed with finding our lost Pokemon species since the beginning of the Federation. He had wanted me to take his position as Admiral so he could search for them. As a child, I didn't mind it. I loved space and the idea of Pokemon. So, my father sent me to a survival camp so that I could train myself to be a perfect Fleet Admiral. Excpet, what happened during the camp had changed me and turned me into someone who detested violence. I met someone in that camp that had changed my life" he idly clutched at his bangs, fiddling with them. "You met mom" Ruby nodded, Zeke was easy to talk to. "I did meet your mom. She was beautiful, even then. She still is. But back then, she was pure and innocent. And although I love her the way she is now I had fallen in love with her the first time I met her. Then we were attacked by a beast. I managed to stop it and got this scar" he swiped his bangs away, baring his scars for the world to see. "I told your mom to run and never look back. I never saw her again until I was beamed on board the Enterprise." He finished, staring aimlessly at the brunette still dozing on his shoulder.

He cupped her face in his hand and kissed her forehead when she shivered, draping an arm around her. Moments of vulnerability were limited when it came to Sapphire but she seemed to relax knowing he was there. "I love her, dad." He blinked in surprise and felt a swell of warmth in his chest when Zeke had acknowledged him as his dad. "It was so wrong, especially when we thought we were siblings but it never went away" the teen confessed. "Then, I suggest you talk to Gold soon. I heard he will be taking over soon as the new Captain" Ruby winked which caused Zeke to laugh. "I wouldn't be surprised if this was what Uncle Red had planned all along" Zeke added, running a hand through his hair. "Well, he did go with the guards willingly, didn't he?" the dark haired men continued to laugh, not noticing the little smile on Sapphire's face as she continued to lean on Ruby.

She was content to just listen to the two boys in her life and attempt to sleep while Ruby's shoulders continued to shake with laughter.

Arya

If you live for something, you're not… alone.

Arya groaned as the speakers began to play an obnoxious fast beat song from the early 2014s. Her head was pounding and she was wearing pajamas—

Wait, what?

She was in her room on the Enterprise.

So fill up your cup and lift your lighter, and toast to life. Luda!

"Victoria! Come back here! YOUR FLU SHOT!" the familiar screams of a blonde Georgian echoed through the halls outside of her room. Arya pulled on her standard yellow shirt and shorts, opting for knee high black socks since it was probably cold outside. When she sis get outside, she bumped into Victoria. "Oh good! You're awake! It's been so long! Come on! We're watching a movie in the Mess" she laughed openly as she dragged Arya to the source of the music.

"They say what dont kill me, can make me stronger so two drinks a night should help me live longer

I blow some smoke just to give my lungs a test, cause why tip toe through life, to arrive safely at death?

I'm on a journey, yeah I'm on a roll, sometimes gotta close my eyes just to open my soul

And tonight is the night, I gotta feeling that I'm about act a fool

So if you go fix some drinks me and Usher are about to break some rules"

Arya's jaw dropped when she entered the Mess. It was arranged so that all of the chairs were facing a large screen hanging above a platform where Gold was rapping to 2014s music. Arya was about to pinch herself when she saw Zeke walking up onto the platform in a Blue Starfleet Shirt and began to sing along.

"Got somewhere to go but the world is moving slow I was born for the fast life!

I go for broke a lesson I can't afford but for what it's worth I'm ready to pay for the rest of my life!"

"Oh my God, someone tell me what's going on" she cussed, letting Victoria drag her to the table where Ruby, Sapphire, Crystal, Diamond, Silver, Violet and Platinum sat. "You're finally up, you probably want to know what's been happening, right?" Ruby asked, all that Arya could think of was 'thank God someone with sense'. "Well, we dealt with the Feds for a while and they gave us back the ship except Red retired and now Gold is Captain. We just started our 4-Year tour. Gold insisted that you and Zeke come too, of course" Ruby summarized. "You're kidding" Arya gaped. "Nope, he's the real deal" Sapphire seconded, biting into an apple. "How long was I out?" she asked sheepishly. "Almost a month. You drifted in and out a lot. Mostly it was because of the blood transfusion" Pearl said, sitting at the table having given up on chasing after Victoria. The girl felt bad for him so he humored him. "Just, let me do it from now on, okay?" she said, patting him on the head and sticking herself in the arm with a hypospray. "Thank God" Pearl rolled his eyes exaggeratedly. Arya laughed, happy to be back with everyone as she turned to look at Zeke.

"Got somewhere to go but the world is moving slow I was born for the fast life!

I go for broke a lesson I can't afford

But for what it's worth I'm ready to pay for the rest of my life—"

"Arya!" he shouted enthusiastically and waved his hand around. "Ary! My precious daughter, you're up! Here to cheer for your dad?" Gold intervened, standing tall on the platform. "Sure thing, dad!" Arya shouted back, laughing when Zeke ended up pouting and shoving Gold sideways who responded by pushing him off the stage. Arya laughed again. It was great to have the Enterprise back.

Somehow, seeing Ruby and Sapphire argue about who would take care of Zeke, Emerald and Amethyst dismantling an old projector to play an old film, Crystal attempting to pull Gold down from the platform, Pearl fussing over Victoria's eating habits, Silver and Violet holding hands under the table, and even Platinum eating a Crème Brule that Diamond had made for her while the said boy watched as she read the words 'would you go out with me?' spelled with icing made Arya feel an incredible sense of satisfaction. The Enterprise Crew had decided to watch Star Trek that day. Gold had commented on how much better looking he was than Chris Pine. Pearl had argued that he did not act like Leonard McCoy at all, and Sapphire complained loudly that meeting her alternate self certainly was more kick ass than the two Spocks. Arya continued to laugh along with the rest of the crew, Zeke passing her popcorn every now and again while smiling at her.

Arya decided she would like life in space with the Enterprise Crew. Normal people would probably find it strange but screw them. This is Arya's life… and she was willing to see it through to the bitter end. After all…

This is the world she knew…
