Alright, I know excuses (they get old). So I'm not going to give you guys a laundry list of them. Let's just say long story short I was dealing with somethings mentally and motivation for any stories I had on this site unfortunately took a hit. I recently started to get it back and start this chapter. Then this week on a totally on related note I was put on bed rest so I was able to finish this. I can't say I might not be dealing with other issues in the future but I can say I will try my best not to lose motivation again. I LOVE writing this story and want to see this through.

Thank you for all those who read, review, follow and/or favorite this story. Now for some review answers.

"Oh, I think my credit card strip actually melted." Tamara complained.

"Mine too." Ariel added as the ladies burst into laughter as they strolled through downtown weighted down by their shopping bags.

"Movies, the salon, a restaurant and the mall." Nadine counted out. "Did we miss any place in our celebratory shopping spree?" Bay laughed.

"No, and considering we survived freshman year, we earned it." She threw back the others hummed in agreement.

"You think the boys are still miffed we ditched them for a girl's day?" Nadine bought up a few minutes later. Ariel scoffed,

"We ditched them in front of the arcade. They'll live." As they all giggled Bay spotted a familiar figure up ahead. She turned to her friends.

"Speaking of boys, I have a very handsome one waiting to walk me home. See you guys in a few days at the festival." They all nodded and exchanged farewells. Bay quickened her pace and soon found herself in front of her team leader and boyfriend.

"Hey, stranger." She greeted. Jayden grinned back.

"Hey, beautiful." He returned leaning down and pressing his lips to her cheek. "Had fun?" He asked reaching over to take some of her bags.

"Yep." She answered surrendering some to him. He grunted at the weight.

"Jeez, what do you have in here? Bricks?" He asked. She peeked at the bags in his hands.

"Books, clothes, shoes and jewelry." She answered.

"How many stores did you hit? Fifty?" She rolled her eyes.

"No, more like twenty. It was our end of the year present to ourselves, along with the salon treatments." He took her hand and gave her a spin.

"I see that, looks good on you." Bay had decided to give herself a little compliment to their previous team up with her old team. While she had gotten a basic trim to ward off some split ends, scattered around her red locks were light pink streaks the same color as the stone on her fox morpher. She had also added five additional stud piercings on her ears running up along the rim.

"Thank you." She answered taking his offered hand as the two got started walking back to the house. After a while Jayden spoke up.

"Oh, and for future reference, the next time you decide to sneak out of bed early in the morning… DON'T PHASE THROUGH ME!" He finished practically yelling. She stopped in her tracks her mouth falling open.

"You were awake for that?!" He rolled his eyes.

"Contrary to your popular belief, you're not as subtle as you think when you've just woken up." He then slightly grinned. "Plus, you kind of made a huge bang when you fell of the bed to the floor. Bay groaned in embarrassment a blush rising to her cheeks.

"Sorry, but I really needed to pee, and your arms were like steel. I mean I'm not against spooning, but sometimes desperate measures." She shrugged.

"What was wrong with waking me up?" She grinned.

"You looked so cute." He shook his head.

"By the way how did the results of your finals go?" She grinned wider.

"Two As and two B minuses." He embraced her.

"That's my girl. I told you."

"Yeah which was why our celebratory breakfast turned into a full day excursion."

"I noticed." Bay's eyes twinkled mischievously.

"But, remember… I made you a deal. One more day of fun with my friends, the festival in a few days and then, I'm yours for the summer." He smirked stepping closer.

"Yeah? I like the sound of that." Bay grinned.

"So do I." She spoke before his lips claimed hers in a kiss that was as fiery as the element he commanded.

The Next Day

"Aw, did it eat your quarter?" Bay questioned looking up from her cellphone. Jayden gave her a look and she raised her hands in defeat as he returned to struggling with the machine.

Today the redhead was decked out in a black tank top, a split back white sheer tank top over that with sparkling black polka dots adorning the front, a cropped black short sleeved leather jacket, dark purple skinny jeans, black high heeled combat boots. She acesorized with silver dangling chain earrings with black gems scattered, golden rings, the bracelet Jayden had gifted her on her right wrist and golden bangles on her left wrist. Her make-up consisted of smoky eye shadow, mascara, eyeliner, scarlet blush, dark pink lip gloss, and white with tiny black polka dotted nail polish. Finally, she had left her hair curly while pulling some of it back in a half bun on top her head secured with a black and gold clip and her bangs in the middle of her forehead with a section slightly parted to the right.

Mia soon exited the market and Jayden and Bay walked over.

"Hey," Jayden caught her attention causing her to look over at the approaching couple, "can I take that for you?" Mia smiled.

"Sure. Thanks." She responded shrugging it off her shoulder and passing it over to him. He glanced between the pink ranger and the bag for a few moments before peeking in.

"Ick." He mumbled as Bay peered over his arm. "Oysters, chocolate sauce, brussels sprouts." Bay held in a gag at the thought of what those ingredients would create in a combination. "You sure you got everything you need for this recipe?"

"Sure am." The pink ranger answered with a proud smile. The other two exchanged glances.

"That sounds, um, interesting." Jayden attempted to compliment causing Bay to shake her head.

"The secret is to mix the ingredients in just the right way." Mia told them seriously.

"Explain that to the paramedics." Jayden mumbled with a smile reaching behind to grab Bay's hand.

"What?" Mia asked confused.

"Oh, um, nothing." He answered pulling Bay along as they got ahead of her. Mia stood there with a confused look on her face before walking to catch up with them.

"Go ahead." He mumbled to the redhead when they had gotten out of earshot. She wasted no time in bursting out laughing.

"The paramedics?! Oh, that was rich." She praised as her laughter subsided.

"You'll have to eat that too." Bay raised an eyebrow crossing her arms.

"Well, unfortunately, it appears that it slipped Mia's mind that oysters happen to be on the list of shellfish that I am deathly allergic too." His mouth dropped open as she smugly informed him of this fact. "And it appears it'll be too late to go back to the market by the time she starts cooking, which will be the time I conveniently remember."

"I can't believe you sometimes." He mumbled.

"You love me, babe." She reminded him. He shook his head before snaking an arm around her and tugging on the ends of her hair gently causing her to give a startled yelp. "Ass." She snarked.

"You love me." He countered repeating her phrase from a few minutes ago.

Shiba House

Meanwhile in her room Amber was practicing from the book Antonio had given her for Christmas.

Today the blonde was adorned in a white cropped short sleeved shirt decorated with mini Eifel Towers, it was tucked into a red and white high-waisted skirt with a silver bowed belt at the waist, black polka dotted tights, and black high heeled open toed shoes with white stripes and black bows on the toes. She accessorized it with silver stud earrings, a white, black and red striped scarf tied around her neck, black and red bangles on her right wrist and a few silver rings. Her make-up was silver eyeshadow, mascara, eyeliner, light pink blush, light red lipstick and red and white striped nail polish. She had left her long hair loose in its usual curls.

The sound of the alarm blaring drew Amber out of her practicing. She immediately placed her violin down and headed out her door just in time to see Ji heading for the courtyard. She raced after him and the two ran out the doors to see the other rangers.

"Nighlock, near the stadium." He informed them all. "You go. I'll call the others." The other four exchanged quick glances before rushing out towards the battle. Ji wiped out his phone as they passed him.

Downtown

The familiar sound of a samuraizer beeping broke the silence of the trio's midafternoon walk back home. Jayden pulled his out and flicked it open putting it to his ear. He forwent the greeting instead opting to listen intently to the phone call.

"Got it." He confirmed hanging up. Both girls turned to face him guessing what was happening. "Let's go." He ordered and they picked up the pace.

At the Arena

Citizens screamed in utter terror as they dodged laser blasts left and right from the latest monster terrorizing their city.

"That's right. Run. Run." He taunted as he advanced delighting in the terror he caused. "Run, you inferior fools!"

"Nighlock!" A unfamiliar voice yelled.

"Oh!" Three figures clothed in red, white and pink spandex walked up.

"That's enough." Jayden commanded.

"How dare you talk to me like that? How dare you talk to me at all?!" The nighlock screamed in fury.

"No more talking is fine by me." Jayden replied resting his sword on his shoulder.

"Maybe I'll have some fun with these lousy lame-os. Before I take them down." The nighlock mused wiggling his claws together.

"Um, pardon, are you talking to yourself? Or are you talking to us while referring to yourself in the third person?" Bay asked raising her hand.

"Shut up!" He hissed at her.

"You're the one going down, Nighlock." Mia promised holding up her own sword.

"What my friend said." Bay agreed spinning hers in her hand.

"Ha! You're nothing but a joke." The nighlock taunted turning his back on them. "Now let's see, what would be the funniest way to mash them to bits?"

"Oi, jackass! We can still hear you." Bay called.

"Enough of this!" Mia called.

"Right!" Jayden agreed. The three pushed off the ground and flipped through the air.

"Hyah!" The nighlock turned around at the sound.

"What? You're really going to attack me?" The threw held their swords up as they came down. The nighlock pointed at them. "Check this out!" The nighlock folded in on himself like an armadillo. The three struck but their swords bounced off without making a dent.

"What?" Jayden questioned.

"Ha!" The nighlock unfolded itself. "Your swords feel like pillows." He struck his fists out striking Jayden and Mia sending them back crying out in pain.

"Oh, fuck! You're a pangolin." Bay realized as her allies got up.

"Smart girl." The nighlock attacked and she danced away swinging her sword as Jayden and Mia joined her. The continued striking but nothing seemed to be working for them. Jayden struck the back at an angle that the nighlock used to throw him over his shoulder. "Nice move, Red."

"Jayden!" Bay called worried. Mia took her turn striking the shell directly behind.

"Ooh, yeah." The nighlock praised with each strike. "Itch there. That feels great." It grabbed Mia by the neck of her uniform and Bay struck the side not protected by the shell.

"Put her down!" Jayden charged forwards joining her and the nighlock spun around to deflect the hits throwing Mia at them which they all maneuvered with the grace of a samurai to avoid crashing into each other.

"Nothing penetrates his shell." Jayden commented as the nighlock locked their swords before spinning and crouching so they struck the shell instead.

"It's just too hard." Mia agreed.

"What the hell is it made of?" Bay demanded before the nighlock slammed his shell into their fronts causing small explosions to occur at the point of impact and the three to go flying crying out as they landed. As they worked to picked themselves up the nighlock laughed at them.

"I told you, no matter what you do, you wretches can't even touch me." He rolled back up.

"Guys!" Mike called as the other four ran up.

"Jayden, Mia, Bay!" Emily yelled.

"You okay?" Kevin asked sliding down on the ground to help Mia up.

"That was some hit you all took." Amber observed as she grabbed Bay's upper arm and hoisted her up.

"Better now that you're here." Mia answered Kevin placing a hand over his.

"Sorry we're late." Kevin saluted.

"What's his story?" Mike questioned inclining his helmeted head at the nighlock.

"He's a ball?" Emily asked.

"An aluminum ball?" Amber added.

"Don't underestimate him." Jayden warned. "We can't even dent his shell." Kevin armed his signature weapon.

"I'll take a shot at it." He took aim. "Hydro Bow!" He shot multiple shots but the nighlock only wiggled like he was playing with them as the shots bounced off his shell.

"You new guys are even lamer!" He taunted.

"Oh, nothing." Kevin announced dejectedly staring at his weapon.

"Don't worry, Kev." Mike reassured as he armed his signature weapon. "I got this. Forest Spear!" He swung it around shooting bursts of green energy at the nighlock's rolled up form.

"Don't you get it?" He asked. "I'm invincible."

"No way." Mike said astonished.

"My turn." Emily called bring out her signature weapon and arming it. "Earth Slicer! Hyah!" She threw it at the nighlock, but it only bounced off as well.

"This is getting annoying." Amber bought out her axe next.

"How's this for annoying, dickhead?" She asked as she armed it. "Moon Pick!" She ran forwards and swung with all her might only causing her to bounce back through the air barely managing to right herself so she could land on her feet.

"Really annoying." The nighlock growled. "Leave now or you'll need someone to carry you away."

"Not one of our attacks works." Emily exclaimed. She then noticed two men running up. "Hey look!" She told the others pointing. The nighlock turned around as well and roared at the two civilians waving his arms menacingly. The two men turned around and hightailed it out of their screaming.

"What the hell was that all about?" Mike inquired to his fellow rangers.

"No idea." Amber responded for them all.

"Go help those guys get to safety." Jayden ordered Mike and Emily getting ready for another fight. "We'll hold off this nighlock."

"You got it." Mike agreed. "Nothing will happen to them on my watch." He ran off.

"Right behind you." Emily told her partner running after him.

"But hurry back." Jayden added. "We have to stick together against this creep." The nighlock rolled back up and charged towards them.

"How about I just mash you all together?' He asked crashing into the five remaining rangers multiple times as if they were bowling pins. They all cried out in pain as sparks flew from their uniforms from the points of impact. "Once again my invincible shell triumphs!" At the cries of their comrades Mike and Emily turned back towards the battle.

"Guys!"

"Oh, no!" Emily called as they raced back towards them. The nighlock turned back around for another charge. "Look out!" Bay quickly grabbed her samuraizer and drew a symbol.

"Symbol Power, Iceberg!" An iceberg shaped like a ramp appeared in the nighlock's path causing him to roll up and over their heads and unfolding to land.

"Alright, Bay!" Amber praised clapping the white ranger on the shoulder.

"Ah, you got lucky!" The nighlock growled at them. "I'm drying out, but I'll finish you later." He then ran off waving his arms around.

"Hey, come back!" Mike ordered as he and Emily reached the others. The others picked themselves up.

"Uh, how can we stop him if nothing we do even slows him down?" Kevin asked his teammates.

Shiba House

"Nothing gets through his armor." Mike complained as the seven young adults walked back into their home.

"It's a pangolin, what do you expect? Their shells are said to be unbreakable." Bay informed him.

"How are we going to fight him?" Mike rounded on their leader.

"We'll find a way." Jayden reassured. "He must have some weakness."

"May I remind you that not one of our attacks damaged him at all?" Mike countered tiredly.

"I'm with Mike over here." Amber agreed noticing Kevin standing off to the side looking pensive.

"Not one of them." He muttered to himself.

"Like Jayden said, there must be some crack in his defenses." Ji attempted to reassure them. Bay noticed her boyfriend pinching the bridge of his nose before sitting down next to him and leaning her head on his shoulder. His arm came around her and she reached up and gave his hand a squeeze. A minute later she felt him drop a kiss on her head in thanks.

"That's it!" Kevin suddenly exclaimed causing every head to snap towards his direction.

"What? Do you have an idea?" Jayden asked rising with Bay following.

"Yeah, I think I cracked the code." He told them getting ready to explain himself. "We just need the right ranger with the right attack in the right order. We'll beat him as a team." The others smiled in agreement nodding their heads.

"Yeah." Mia agreed.

"Speaking of "team", where's Antonio?" Emily asked. The others looked around and not finding anything. Ji made to call him again. Unfortunately all he got was his voicemail.

"Antonio, please call us back." Ji said sternly as he hung up. "I wonder what he's got himself into this time." He mused.

"Where did he say he was going again?" Bay asked her best friend/sister.

"Fishing, wouldn't say where." Amber replied staring at her phone hoping for a call.

Seriously, that guys a trouble magnet." Kevin threw in his two cents.

"Guys, he may be a jokester, but Antonio takes this stuff seriously." Emily reminded them.

"She's right, he wouldn't just ignore our calls. Especially mine." Amber agreed sullenly. "He could be in real trouble." Suddenly the alarm blared to life.

"We have to worry about him later." Jayden announced to his team. "Right now, we have a nighlock to stop. And a plan to put into action." He finished nudging Kevin with a proud smile. Kevin beamed back as they all ran out the door. They all pulled out their morphers and morphed as they left the courtyard. The gates opened and seven of the eight Samurai Rangers raced into battle.

At the Battle

Screaming civilians ran for their lives as the rolled-up version of the nighlock slowly rolled after them.

"Man, I am so on a roll!" He laughed in glee.

"Uh! There he is." Jayden said as he stopped in his tracks with the rest following. The nighlock laughed as usual.

"You fools again."

"But this time, we're shutting you down, hard." Mike said seriously.

"Ha! You just proved how foolish you are, thinking you could win." The nighlock teased rolling up and advancing on them. Instead of scattering the rangers held their ground.

"Time for Kevin's plan, phase one." Jayden ordered.

"Right." Emily agreed as she and Mike got into position.

"First, we'll use his own speed against him." Mike explained.

"Now!" Jayden commanded as the nighlock neared. Both stepped forwards and opened their morphers.

"Symbol Power!" Mike spoke both quickly drew a symbol.

"Barricade!" They both commanded striking the symbols. A stone wall held together by strong vines appeared in front of the rangers.

"That's right." The nighlock told them. "You should hide." The nighlock struck the wall at full speed bouncing right back off in surprise. "Uh! That was stone cold, rangers." He complained as he laid sprawled out on the ground.

"Ha!" Mike laughed. "Us one, and you nothing."

"Amber." Jayden simply said. She stepped up with her spin sword.

"Phase two, on it." She spun her sword a black whirl with silver moons and suns appeared. "Now to use your senses against you. Spin Sword, Eclipse Barrage!" She struck the ground in front of the nighlock causing a bright light tinted in darkness to flare.

"AHHH! My eyes!"

"Pity." Amber and Bay spoke in unison giggling slightly at the joke.

"Now Phase Three." Jayden announced holding up his spin sword while Mia held up her Sky Fan.

"You got it." The nighlock struggled to his feet while Jayden spun his disk.

"Ha!"

"I'm still fine." He taunted the heroes. "I can't lose."

"We're not done yet." Mia told him. Spinning her fan causing a pink whirlwind to appear. "My wind…"

"While make my flame stronger." Jayden finished as he added fire to the attack. The two merged their attacks and launched it at the nighlock.

"Oh, whoa!" The nighlock turned to shield himself. "You're right. It did make them stronger, that actually tickled a bit."

"I can't wait to knock this creep down on his ass." Bay hissed under her breath.

"Now phase three." Jayden told Kevin and Bay. Kevin held up his samuraizer.

"On it. Ha!" He charged while Bay hung back and armed her sword with her signature disk. "You still can't see the writing on the wall can you, nighlock?" Kevin taunted as he drew a complicated symbol. He struck it causing it to glow a brilliant blue. "Time to make you come out of your shell. Tidal Wave!" What could only be described as a tsunami appeared and bared down on their enemy.

"Whoa!" He turned to shield himself again. The wave struck home and before the nighlock could turn around Bay used Kevin's shoulder to leap into the air.

"My turn." She simply stated spinning her disk. A white snowstorm with scattered snowflakes whirled around her sword. "Ha! Time for you to chill out. Spin Sword, Frost Blizzard!" An icy blizzard overtook the nighlock and unbeknownst to him, froze slightly froze his shell. She landed next to Kevin and rose. "Huh!"

"That should do it." Kevin assured them as they walked backwards to join their teammates. The nighlock laughed menacingly at them.

"All you did was clean my indestructible shell." He countered turning to face them. "Thanks for the wash." He praised pointing a claw at them.

"You sure that's all we did?" Jayden baited resting his sword on his shoulder.

"What?" The nighlock demanded as the change finally took place. "Oh, my shell! It's cracking." Sure, enough multiple cracks where appearing all over the shell.

"Your armor may be able to handle any single attack…" Jayden began.

"But with the right attacks in the right order, even your armor isn't strong enough." Kevin finished.

"First we softened your shell." Jayden explained. "Then we blinded you to ensure you'd stay put. Then we raised the temperature of your shell with our enhanced heat and wind attack. Last the water and ice quickly cooled your hot shell, making it brittle. So now it's time to break your invincible armor for good."

"Impossible!" The nighlock denied. Jayden armed his sword with the others following suite.

"Let's end this shell game."

"Yep, time to get cracking." Kevin threw in as they got into position. They all charged into battle.

"Think again, Rangers. The nighlock told them dodging their attacks. "My shell won't break that easily. He managed to group them al together in front of him and quickly blasted them. "Ha! Your fancy combo attack can't defeat me. You lame-os are even lamer than I thought." Kevin quickly formulated a new plan while he struggled to his feet.

"Guys, I think I can do this. If I can get to his shell without him noticing." He informed them before turning to their yellow ranger. "But Emily, I need your help."

"Whatever you need, I'm there." She quickly assured. Kevin grasped her shoulder to level the severity of this case.

"We may only have one shot at this." Jayden held up the Black Box.

"Then take this." He told Kevin. "Super Samurai Mode should give you the powers you need."

"The Black Box." Kevin breathed in disbelief. "Are you sure I'm ready?"

"Finish your plan, Kevin." Jayden told him. "I know you can do it."

"Thank, Jayden." He said confidently. "Emily, come with me. And make sure you guys keep this creep occupied."

"You got it!" The remaining five said as they charged.

"So, you come back for more, huh?" As they began to attack. Amber struck before bending her back slightly to allow Bay to roll over it in an attempt to strike that was partly successful. Eventually Mike and Mia grabbed hold of the nighlock's arms. "Hands off." He ordered them. He shot lasers and Jayden deflected them as Bay and Amber leapt in the air and slashed the nighlock as a warning using the prone from to push off and flip back to land besides their leader.

As the nighlock groaned in pain, Kevin saw his opening.

"Emily, now!" As this the yellow ranger held up her samuraizer. And drew a yellow symbol over the ground in front of her.

"Symbol Power, Hole!" She struck the symbol downwards and a glowing hole opened up. "Your turn." She prompted Kevin.

"Right." Kevin replied holding up the Black Box and jumping into the hole. Behind the nighlock a second hole opened up.

"You should've hid in that hole with your wimpy buddy." He told the rangers standing in front of him in an attempt to bait them.

"Super Samurai Mode!" Kevin proclaimed as he hit the button on the box.

"Huh?" The nighlock asked hearing the additional voice before shaking it off. "You can't defeat me." He finally shook the two rangers holding his arms off.

"Think again!" Kevin countered flying up behind him and striking the shell before the nighlock turned around. He flipped over the monster to strike the shell once again. "My new Super Samurai Powers make me so much more powerful, you don't even stand a chance against us." The nighlock ran forwards to get away from the attack.

"Good try, Blue." He teased facing them. "Let's play ball." As the nighlock rolled towards them Kevin held his ground.

"This guy's relentless." He rolled out of the way of the armored bouncing ball. "Oh." An idea suddenly came to him. "Ah. Super Samurai Kick!" He flipped his body kicking the nighlock away in the process. As it neared again, he grabbed his disk. "Dragon Disk." He spoke inserting it into the Black Box. Super Spin Sword, Slash!' He sent the powered-up attack flying towards the nighlock. It struck home and the nighlock began to crackle with electricity. Kevin posed as the monster exploded in midair. The others took this opportunity to run up to congratulate him.

"Nice job, Kevin." Mia praised.

"Way to go." Jayden agreed.

"You're the man." Emily cheered.

"Awesome!" Amber added.

"Most definitely." Bay nodded.

"Super Samurai Mode is awesome." Kevin told them excitedly. Mike ran up behind him and clasped his shoulder.

"Yeah." He laughed with his best friend.

"Thank, guys." Kevin told them enjoying the praise. "But now the real challenge begins." He told them turning around with Mike following.

"Huh?" The green ranger demanded still on the high following their victory.

"Look." Kevin motioned to the sky. As if on que nighlock went Mega.

"Time to take care of my little pest problem." Kevin stepped forwards.

"Yeah, your problem's about to get a lot bigger." He pulled out his sword. "Mega Mode Power!" The others quickly followed suit.

Bay clicked a button on her samuraizer, "Samurai Ranger Winter!" she called as she threw her sword into the air. "Ha!" She then dropped to one knee putting her star shaped zord into her ground sending up a storm of white symbols. She then held her hand up and drew a symbol, "Snow Leopard Foldingzord!" She then stood up, "Megamode Power." White symbols transformed her into megamode, she held one hand to her sky and the other on her hip. "Yay!" She then flew into the air grabbing her sword as she went. "Huh!" She then dropped down into her glowing zord. She then appeared in the cockpit. She then brought her sword to her and folded it up, jamming it into the holder for the control and put her disk in.

Amber then clicked a button on her samuraizer, "Samurai Ranger, Night!" she called as she threw her sword into the air. "Ha!" She then dropped to one knee putting her crescent shaped zord into her ground sending up a storm of black symbol symbols. She then held her hand up and drew a symbol, "Owl Foldingzord!" She then stood up, "Megamode Power." Black symbols transformed her into megamode, she crossed both arms in and slashed them apart extending her arms. "Yay!" She then flew into the air grabbing her sword as she went. "Huh!" She then dropped down into her glowing zord. She then appeared in the cockpit. She then brought her sword to her and folded it up, jamming it into the holder for the control and put her disk in.

"Let's do this." Kevin ordered his friends. Outside the zords all flew/charged forwards emitting menacing sounds in the process.

"Oh, fun!" The nighlock laughed. "Target Practice." He blasted them but they continued charging. In his cockpit Kevin drew a symbol.

"Samurai Rangers, Zords Combine." He commanded striking the symbol. "Huh."

The zords all flew into the air and folded up to form the new megazord. Bay's zord folded up some of the points of the star and became the front armor over the front of the lion zord. Amber's zord split apart with one talon becoming the hilt of the sword, two others becoming the cuffs for the fists and the rest folding up to shield the back. The rangers appeared in the newly formed cockpit in flashes of light.

"Samurai Megazord, we are united!"

"Let's do this." Kevin told them holding up the Black Box. "Being a super samurai has its advantages." He pulled out his controller and expanded the sword inserting the Black Box. "Super Megablade." He struck the air with his sword. The others followed suit.

"Megablade."

They all swung their swords getting into position with Bay holding hers in a stop position with the blade resting on her fingertips and Amber holding her hand face up so the blade rested in her palm.

As one they held their swords forwards. Outside the megazord followed suit.

"Huh." The nighlock questioned putting his hands on his hips. "Oh." He laughed thinking the rangers would never succeed.

"Power those disks, team." Kevin told them with confidence. They all spun their disks causing multiple glows to fill the cockpit. Outside the symbols on the megazord's sword began to glow.

"Katana Power." They all ordered together as the megazord spun the sword in the air. "Huh." They held their swords ready. "Samurai Strike." They all struck down with flashes of their signature color filling the cockpit.

"Ha, ha!" The nighlock laughed shielding himself with his shell. "No luck rangers. My shell's healed and as good as new." He taunted wagging his finger at them. "I'm invincible!" He rolled up and the rangers prepared themselves as he bounced around and struck the megazord with each bounce causing the cockpit to rattle and the rangers to cry out as they struggled to keep their footing. The nighlock unfolded and landed in front of them spinning around to taunt them again. "Don't you lame-os get what "invincible" means yet? You lose no matter what!" He ending jumping up and down and clapping his hands in glee.

"This jackass is far to happy." Bay hissed as it laughed at them and they all regained their footing as the rattling cockpit stilled.

"You guys know what we have to do." Kevin announced. "Time for a shell-shocking combo."

"Nice pun." Amber complimented.

"You got it, Kev." Mike grinned underneath his helmet and pulled out his orange disk. Beetle Zord! Ha!" He inserted the disk and spun it. Outside the zord appeared. "Samurai Artillery!"

Suddenly the Beetle Zord rose in the air breaking apart. The megazord pulled of its helmet as the spikes of the zord attached to the arms and the head attached to the head of the megazord opening up. The megazord also pulled out it's shield.

"Beetle Blaster Megazord armed for battle!" The seven rangers declared as one.

"Alright." Kevin ordered. "First hit him with heat."

"You got it." Mike said holding his hand in a fist. "Let's do this. Huh." He pushed his controller forwards and outside the helmet glowed spitting orange flames as the megazord leaned forwards aiming it at their enemy. The nighlock waved his arms in fear trying to scramble back.

"Oh, no. Déjà vu." Kevin pulled out his blue disk next.

"Swordfish Zord. Huh." His secondary zord appeared next. Outside the Beetle Zord detached. "Samurai Artillery." The back half of the zord attached to the back of the megazord and the head became the new helmet with fins appearing.

"Swordfish Fencer Megazord armed for battle!" The rangers proclaimed as one.

"Now, let's cool him off with some water. Huh." Kevin took his turn to push his console forwards. The megazord leaned forwards as water flew out of the helmet to pelt the nighlock.

"Oh, no. Not again! Oh!" The rangers silently laughed as he was practically knocked off his feet.

"Tiger Zord." Kevin finished as Jayden summoned his secondary zord and the megazord detached the Swordfish Zord. "Samurai Artillery." He ordered. The Tiger Zord flashed before splitting apart. The body with the drill pointed upwards attached to the back of the megazord and the head became the new helmet with the tail forming a ring attached.

"Tiger Drill Megazord, armed for battle." The rangers announced the nighlock seemed to get a clue on what happened next and cowered in his spot.

"This isn't good."

"Tiger Drill Charge." Kevin ordered pushing the console. "Huh."

The megazord leaned forwards one final time as the drills began to spin rapidly propelling it forwards. They struck the nighlock hard.

"But I'm invincible!" He protested. "Stop this now. Stop! Stop!"

"Is he crying?" Amber questioned in disbelief.

"More like throwing a temper tantrum." Bay corrected.

"We've tried everything. It's still not enough to bust his shell." Mia complained.

"We need to up the power." Kevin realized. "I wish Antonio were here, but with the Black Box we have the next best thing. His zords." He opened the box and inserted the union disk. "Super Samurai Union Disk. Clawzord, we need you." Said zord flew in and they began the combination. "Zords Combine!" The zord and the megazord quickly merged as one.

"Claw Armor Megazord, we are united!" The team proclaimed.

"Alright, everybody, now we're ready." Kevin told them seriously. "Super Samurai Power can't be beat." Jayden took the lead pulling out his controller and spinning it in his hand.

"Right. We've got a message for you, nighlock." He pulled the trigger extending his blade. "Hah. You've worn out your welcome here. It's time for you to hit the road." Bay shook her head.

'Even my boyfriend isn't immune to puns it would seem.'

"The only thing I'm going to hit is you." The nighlock countered as the megazord got into a battle stance. "Ooh, I'm shaking in my boots."

"This is no laughing matter, nighlock." Kevin declared as the eyes of the megazord glowed as lightning struck from above. The katanas glowed for a brief second. The megazord struck with each zord quickly. "Double Katana Strike." He ordered as the megazord crossed swords in a slashing motion to end the nighlock.

"Ah!" The nighlock cried in pain but was still standing.

"Wait, that didn't do it." Kevin questioned confused.

"It told you I was indestructible." The nighlock bragged before jumping up and clapping again. "I win. You lose." The megazord sheathed its swords.

"Time to call out the big guns." Kevin called out. "Super Samurai Artillery." The Octozord followed by the Tiger Zord, Beetle Zord and Swordfish Zord flew up and formed the cannon.

"Samurai Battle Cannon." They announced before lightning once again struck the megazord. "Battle Cannon Blast!" The blaster fired causing multicolored beams of light in the shape of the rangers zords to descend upon the nighlock finally destroying it.

"No, way!" The nighlock screamed. "I guess my shell's not all that it's cracked up to be." There was finally the gigantic explosion they associated with their victory.

"Samurai Rangers, victory is ours." Kevin told them happily.

The rangers jumped down from the cockpit and demorphed.

"Alright, now we can focus on finding Antonio." Jayden ordered. The group split off in two groups before heading off.

At the Docks

Mike, Emily and Amber walked up to the fishing docks hoping to find Antonio there. Emily spotted him first.

"Hey, look there he is." Amber let her eyes rest on him for a few seconds before sighing in relief.

"I'm so glad he's alright." She breathed letting go of the worrying she had had all day.

"Yeah," Mike agreed, "now I won't feel so bad about giving him grief for making us worry about him." As they advanced towards their teammate Amber gasped at seeing something silver lying on the ground.

"Wait, is that his morpher?!" She swooped down and grabbed it. Mike shook his head.

"Looks like we got to bail him out again."

"I bet you he doesn't even know it's gone." Emily challenged. The three walked up behind him and Mike tapped the headphone wearing man on the shoulder.

"Hey." Antonio spun around grinning.

"Oh, hey, guys." He greeted cheerily pulling his headphones down around his neck. Amber held out his morpher.

"Think you lost this." She teased letting a small smile pull at her lips. Antonio's cheery face contorted into a look of shock.

"Whoa. Thanks." The other three exchanged amused looks. "Do you have any idea what Mentor would do to me if I lost this thing?" They all slightly grinned wider.

"Yeah, about that, you didn't check your messages all day, did you?" Mike asked. Antonio opened his morpher.

"34 missed calls." He told them as they all continued grinning.

"Oh, Handsome." Amber giggled.

"What did I miss?" The gold ranger demanded. "Are you guys all right?"

"Should we make him sweat about it?" Mike asked his blonde companions. Both looked between him and the Latino.

"Definitely." Emily agreed as she walked away with Mike following. Amber meanwhile leaned against the dock rail laughing her head off.

"Hey, guys, w-w-what happened?" Antonio stuttered trying to find out what he had missed. He glanced at Amber. "Pretty Lady?" She managed to control her laughter to answer.

"What happened Handsome is, you're a dead man walking." She informed him before jogging to catch up with her friends.

"Hey, come on!" Antonio called after them running to grab his gear. "You can't just leave me hanging here." He quickly packed his gear. "Oh, man, I was having such a wonderful day." He raced to catch up to them. "Hey, guys, wait up!"

With the Others

"Okay, Mike. Thanks." Jayden hung up and faced the others looking at him expectantly. "They found the goofball, he's fine."

"So, we can head home." Kevin stated. He nodded and the four made their way towards the path that would lead them home. A minute later Bay suddenly felt herself being held back.

"Yeah, not you." He teased wrapping his arm around her to hold her in place. She turned and raised her eyebrows.

"Jayden?" Mia questioned.

"Go ahead, we'll catch up." He motioned. The two shrugged and continued on their way.

"Okay, what is this about?" Bay asked turning to face him. He beamed at her.

"Remember our deal? Well, I'm cashing some of it in." Bay laughed.

"All you had to do was lead with that."

"Yeah, but takes the fun out of it, don't you think?" She shook her head.

"Whatever you say, babe." The two walked back towards town before Jayden spotted something interesting.

"Ice cream?" He offered. She nodded. The two went in and walked up to the counter. "One scoop of chocolate in a medium cone please. Bay?"

"Can I get a medium cup with vanilla ice cream and hot fudge?" The server nodded and soon the two were sitting underneath a tree in a secluded corner of the park enjoying their frozen treat in the summer day. Once she was finished Bay leaned against Jayden's chest and closed her eyes sighing softly.

"You okay?" He asked.

"I'm better than okay." She assured. He leaned down and kissed her shoulder.

"Good."

"What about you?" She asked tilting her head to look at him. He smiled softly wrapping his arms tightly around her.

"I've got you, I'm beyond okay. I never thought I could have this while this fight was going on. I thought I'd be alone for a long time. Bay looked down.

"I sometimes wonder what it would be like if Mom hadn't left me at the orphanage. We would have grown up together."

"Yeah, me too." He admitted. "But you were destined for bigger things than to be stuck here your whole life." Bay bit her lip.

"Do you think… if we had grown up together, we would have still fallen for each other?"

"Yeah." He answered instantly. She turned around in his arms.

"How could you be so sure." He reached over and caressed her cheek.

"Because I took one look at you the day we met, and I knew that there was something special about you. Sure, maybe it would have taken longer but… I don't think even Master Xandred himself could have stopped me from falling in love with you." Bay sniffled feeling tears gather in her eyes.

"When did you become such a sap?" She mock teased. He pretended to think for a moment before bopping her on the nose.

"About the same time you turned into a romantic." He countered leaning forwards to kiss her. Bay did the same.

"Gang way!" Someone yelled as their lips were just about to meet. The two turned to see a frisbee heading their way with a man chasing it. They scrambled out of the way just in time as he leapt to catch it and crashed to the ground. "I got it!" A teenager their age ran up laughing and snorting.

"Great catch, Uncle Bulk!" At the name Bay gasped.

'No freaking way.' The man rose to his feet.

"Spike, I've told you before, when you throw it, don't chuck it. You must discipline yourself. You nearly scared this young couple half to death!" At this he motioned to them.

"Mr. Bulkmeyer?" Bay questioned slightly shocked. He turned towards them.

"Yes?"

"Um, hi. Nice to see you again." She greeted with a wave.

"Nice to see you as well, whoever you are."

"I'm Bay." She clarified. He looked confused and she sighed. "Bay Oliver." At this the light came on.

"Right, Tommy's daughter. How is Thomas by the way?" He asked.

"Good." She then turned to the teenager. "Which makes you… Spike wasn't it? We met at that resort they held the Angel Grove High reunion at." The other teen nodded.

"Oh, yeah. You were the pretty girl." Jayden cleared his throat and took her hand.

"Yes, and this is my boyfriend Jayden. Jayden, this is Mr. Bulkmeyer an old classmate of my fathers and his "nephew" Spike the son of another old classmate." He nodded.

"Nice to meet you." Spike then realized something. "Hey! Didn't you throw me in a pool?!" Bay crossed her arms and tilted her head.

"Didn't you pour an ice bucket over my head?" Jayden choked on a snicker.

"You- To her? And you're still breathing?!" Bay rolled her eyes.

"Laugh it up, babe." Bulk looked between the teens and decide he had enough.

"Alrighty then. Time to go, Spike. Tell your father I said hello." Bay saluted.

"Will do." The two walked away.

"So, should we continue?" Jayden asked. Bay nodded.

"Let's, but at home in a room where we can lock the door."

"Why there?" He questioned.

"So, we can make out to our hearts content and no one can barge in unless it's an emergency." She stated as if it were the most obvious reason in the world. He considered this before beaming again.

"I knew there was a reason why I loved you." The two linked hands and raced home where they were met with the sight of Ji scolding Antonio who looked like a kicked puppy, while the others stood on snickering. They exchanged a glance before bursting into laughter.
