AN: Welp...I think it's been what, three years since I updated this thing?...oops ^^' though I doubt anyone even remembers this story anymore I am finally putting up the next chapter. But just a heads up, the previous chapters have been rewritten so I reccommend going back and rereading them

Chapter 8

Ratchet and Arcee stood by the Autobot insignia as their team came through the Ground Bridge. They all looked weary and exhausted. Evee lay limply in Optimus Prime's servo; her right side was facing towards his chest plates.

"What happened?" Ratchet demanded, coming towards them, Arcee watched from a distance.

"Evelyn managed to break herself free and cripple the Decepticon war ship, but was gravely injured in the process." Optimus said and turned the girl over, revealing her right side to the medic. Ratchet took a step back in alarm. Evee's right arm was gone, completely gone from the shoulder, most likely blown off in the Energon explosion. Ratchet was used to Cybertronian limb loss, even remembering the time he had to reattach Bumblebee's legs back in the war, but never had he seen humans loose limbs, from research on the world wide web, he had learned that humans weren't meant to loose their appendages. She was leaking a deep crimson liquid from the wound, but that wasn't all. A glowing blue substance was also leaking out with it. She was bleeding blood, and Energon. Ratchet shook his head as his medical training kicked in. He ran a red beam along her body, a scan emitting from his forearm, and the looked at a monitor on it.

"She's alive…but just barely." He said, "bring her into sick-bay, and I will do what I can."

Optimus complied and lay her body onto the berth waiting for them. Ratchet wasted no time, he took wires and other tools and got to work hooking up to a monitor and attempting to stabilize her condition. Optimus left him to his work, walking away to the main area. Arcee looked at the Autobot leader, he was expressionless, still wearing his mask.

"She really crippled the Nemesis?" She asked her partner. Cliffjumper nodded while glancing at her.

"You should've seen it, she had this bomb and tossed it right at the power core like a wrecker." He said. Arcee crossed her arms.

"Well that was stupid, she almost killed herself and everyone else on the ship." She frowned.

"Of course it was stupid, why do you think I'm so impressed?" Cliff' smirked.

"No, no fight! Evelyn don't letup now!" Ratchet suddenly shouted from sickbay, catching everybody's attention.

Ratchet had patched up her wounds, but Evee was slipping, Ratchet was trying everything he could, but she remained unstable.

"Ratch' wasn't she leaking Energon before?" Bulkhead asked, Ratchet looked at the wrecker.

"Yes, I don't know why but…" the medic replied slowly, as if something Bulkhead said made something dawn on him, "by the All-Spark…I need Energon, now!"

Bumblebee quickly grabbed a cylinder of processed liquid Energon and handed it to Ratchet. The medic wasted no time as he connected the cylinder to a small tube, and injected the blue glowing liquid into the girl's wrist where one would hook up an IV.

"Wait, wouldn't Energon debilitate a human's body? It's like poison to them." Arcee said, but Ratchet ignored the two-wheeler and waited. Time seemed to freeze as all of the Autobots waited for some sort of sign that the girl was still alive, just. One. Little. Sign…

Wires and cables sparked, metal twisted and melted so far that one would never be able to guess what they used to be. Then one angry servo burst out of the wreckage. The servo had belonged to none other than Megatron, fuming as he clawed his way out of the metal and surveyed the former power core's damage, he knew that it would be a long time before the ship could be airborne once more, he let out a growl just thinking about that degrading moment when the organic had detonated that bomb in the core, the leader of the Decepticons and the most powerful, the most feared Cybertronian…defeated by a mere little girl.

The murderous light in the leader's blood-red optics flashed brighter. Never again would he do something as foolish as bring that…thing back on his ship, nor would he ever underestimate her again, the next time he saw her, he would extinguish her in the most unpleasant and painful way possible along with all of the Autobots.

A groan emitted from a scrap pile a few yards away from the towering mech, Megatron looked over to the source of the noise. Starscream pulled out of the metal and looked around at the mess. The Second in Command must have overcome the stasis and come down to the power core as the bomb had gone off, just in time to get himself caught in the blast.

"Just look at what that wretch did to the magnificent Decepticon warship!" he snarled, but Megatron gave him one solid look, shutting up the flyer on the spot.

Megatron then made a patrol around the area, seeing that there were no other survivors, only finding a piece of Barricade, one servo, but he couldn't care less for that pitiful excuse for a Decepticon soldier, Barricade was better off pushing up lug nuts.

"Starscream…retrieve all Decepticons and bring them here. We have repairs to do…" The Decepticon leader hissed as he placed his clenched servos behind his back.

"Right away…master." Starscream replied and left the leader to his thoughts.

Evee opened her eyes very slowly, but she only saw darkness, she didn't know where she was, but she stood up, surprisingly with no pain. She scratched her brown hair but realized her hat was gone; she had no cuts, nor bruises. Was this what death was like? It wasn't so bad.

"Weird…" she muttered, and then called out, "hello? Is anybody out there? Barricade? You here too because I have a few things I forgot to do to you…"

"I am here child." A strange voice said, a voice she had never heard before.

"Where are you, I can't see anything." Evee spoke out, glancing around but still saw no one, but then again maybe she went blind. But she wasn't going crazy because she felt the presence of someone, someone very powerful and very old. For some reason a voice kept nagging her in the back of her mind, a name being spoken over and over again.

"Primus…" she muttered and rubbed her head.

"Evelyn Peters." The voice replied, making her startle at the sudden noise. She did a double take and eventually spoke again.

"Primus?" she asked tentatively.

"You know who I am." The voice stated.

"…The All-Spark told me." She said blankly, surprised by how nonchalant her own voice sounded, as if speaking to disembodied voices was just an everyday thing like going to the store. She waved in no particular direction, "Howdy."

She immediately slapped her forehead for saying something stupid like that, for crying out loud, if it really was Primus she was talking to what kind of greeting was that supposed to be?

The entity didn't seem bothered by her word choice but she took a few breaths to recompose herself anyways.

"I apologize," she said, "I'm just a bit confused sir…what's happening to me?"

"You are in a state of limbo within the depths of the All-Spark. Many of us have been watching you since you became one with it those many years ago." Primus replied.

"Who's 'us?'" the girl asked. No reply came, so Evee just let it go, "…why am I here? Am I dead?"

"No, you will wake up soon, once you find yourself again." Primus said.

"I'm lost?"

"I'm sure you know."

Evee mulled that over for a moment, before seeming to catch on what the old being was getting at.

"I already know my place." Evee said plainly.

"So you think." The Cybertronian said, "you do not have faith in yourself, you believe that you are merely a tool for the Autobots."

Evee was quiet for a moment, "I guess I'm pretty easy to read. But it's true."

"You will have a role to play in fate of the Autobots and Cybertron. The ancients have entrusted it to you because they have seen you as the All-Spark's capable guardian, uniting both human and Cybertronian into one form. We expect great things from you. " Primus told her, "and they will value you for more than your connection to the All-Spark as well."

"I know now that it is more than just feeling accepted…my duty is to the Autobots and helping them win this war and to restore their home, and I will do whatever it takes." Evee replied in a stoic tone, much like Optimus Prime. She stood straight, her shoulders forward.

"Well then it appears that you are no longer lost, young one."

The darkness started to fade to light, the feeling of the entity going along with it.

It took her a while, but Evee finally managed to open her eyes, the light hurt at first, but she finally saw where she was, it appeared to be Ratchet's med-bay in the Autobot base. She was lying on a human sized gurney with some sort of tube connected to her left arm; it was hooked up to a cylinder with glowing blue liquid. She groaned trying to sit up, but then felt something…off. She couldn't feel her right arm, at all. She eventually looked at it, but to her shock, it wasn't even there, just an empty sweater sleeve.

"What the…Where's my arm?" she yelped, catching the attention of the Autobot medic whom was over at his computer hub.

"Evelyn, you're finally conscious." He said; even sounding slightly relieved as he did.

"Where's my arm?" Evee repeated, still panicked, but not as panicked as she should've been considering what had happened.

"I'm afraid it was lost from the explosion on the Nemesis." Ratchet replied as he ran a scan over her.

"Oh crud muffins…" Evee whimpered, her head started feeling lighter.

"Easy now…" Ratchet said, stepping closer, but she had already fallen back, blacking out once again.

When she had woken up again, she could see both Optimus and Ratchet over at the computer hub now, but the rest of the Autobots were nowhere to be seen, most likely out scouting or resting. She hesitantly looked at her right arm and winced, it hadn't been a dream; her entire right arm was gone. She fought back the nausea that started to form.

Of all the injuries, she had never imagined limb loss would be one of them. She took a few deep breaths to steady her heart rate, but obviously Ratchet must have been listening for her because he turned to look at her, noticing that she was awake once again, he made his way over to the medical bay, Optimus following behind.

"Awake for good this time?" the medic asked her, Evee nodded slowly.

"We'll see…how long was I out?" she asked rather quietly.

"About ten days, we were starting to wonder whether you'd wake up at all, due to the…extensive damage you received." Ratchet replied apprehensively, almost as if he was afraid she was going to fall unconscious again due to poor choice of words.

If her head didn't feel like a Vehicon just did a Mexican hat dance on it she would've been flattered. She looked at where her arm was once before taking a few more deep breaths.

"I'm so sorry." She said. Neither Optimus nor Ratchet was expecting that.

"For what reason?" Optimus questioned.

"Well…I've realized that having a human reside with Autobots, especially one like myself, hasn't exactly brought the team very much fortune over the past few weeks. I'm sorry I've caused you so much trouble, getting captured by Decepticons and all that. I know that normally this kind of battle wouldn't be my business, even if I do connect to the All-Spark, but I want you to know that I want to help you win this war and I want to help restore Cybertron to its former glory. I wish to join Team Prime…if you'll have me that is." Evee replied, sitting up straighter, her green eyes now seeming to have flashes of blue in them. That was too many words at once, oh my head…she thought not so confidently.

Optimus and Ratchet both seemed taken back. Optimus didn't realize that she felt like a burden, she sounded sincere. The Prime lowered down so he was eye level to the girl.

"If that is what you desire, then we would be honored to have you." He said with the slightest of smiles, but that was enough for Evee to feel her own smile playing at her lips.

"Thank you sir." She said while nodding. She hadn't realized how the Prime reminded her of Primus. But then again of course that would make sense, after all: all Primes were his descendants. She glanced between her right shoulder, or what was left of it, and then at the old medic. "Ratchet?"

"Yes?" the medic replied slowly.

"I need tools and metal…lots and lots of metal." Evee said with a small smile.

"Whatever for? You need to rest." Ratchet said with an odd look at the girl.

"I've had ten days of rest, it's time to work on my next project." She told him, and then slouched a bit, her fingers getting a bit twitchy, "And if I don't get some of these ideas out of my head soon I'm pretty sure it's going to explode..."

Time seemed to pass in a blur for both Autobots and Decepticons alike, weeks turning into months. Megatron had remained to his own devices as the crew had repaired the Nemesis; Soundwave was leading the rebuilding. He had upgraded the cloaking system, and designed new power core. For a communications officer, he certainly knew his engineering. But even he didn't know what was running through Megatron's mind, as the war lord stayed isolated from everyone in his private quarters, Starscream of course was taking full advantage of that and took command of the troops in his absence. He behaved as if his master had disappeared off of the face of the earth.

Ratchet and Evee bridged themselves out to a remote area in a mountain range in a western part of Canada. Cliffjumper insisted on following since he and Evee had become thick as thieves, he had started seeing himself as her guardian in a way and vice versa.

Evee had something wrapped in fabric tucked under her arm as she walked through the swirling green vortex; her right sleeve was pinned up against her shoulder. It had taken a bit of physiotherapy for her to adjust to a one armed way of life, but hopefully after today she wouldn't need it anymore. She had been working non-stop on this particular project, and with the help of Ratchet, her new mentor, it was finally finished and ready for testing.

"Now then, have you finished calibrating it?" The medic asked her, she nodded.

"Check, subject is ready for a test drive." She replied while sharing a grin with Cliffjumper. She placed the bundle on the ground and started to unwrap it with her one hand. When the fabric was removed it revealed a shiny metallic arm, resembling a human arm. It had several interlocking pieces of metal that made up the structure, complete with an Autobot insignia welded to the upper arm, just below the shoulder. She slid her right sleeve back to reveal a metal socket that Ratchet had attached, she pressed the arm to it and little pieces and wires hooked to it, fitting like a dream.

"Looks like all systems are a go." She said in awe and directed her smile at Ratchet, "you're a maestro."

"Naturally.." Ratchet scoffed, but was clearly grateful for the compliment, "though you did the design, I merely helped with the assembly."

"But I couldn't have done it without you." Evee replied like a retort.

"Well we still gotta test the thing." Cliffjumper put in before Evee and the medic could swap any more compliments at each other. Evee nodded and looked at the medic once more for instructions.

"Alright, I want you to start by moving it around." Ratchet said, "Make sure that it can operate."

Evee complied and attempted to move it, starting by twitching her fingers. It took immense concentration, but eventually the signals from her brain reached the artificial nerves in the arm, her Energon flowing freely into its circuits, and the fingers moved without a hitch. She then moved the forearm next; the joints creaking slightly but otherwise functioned smoothly. After that she rolled her entire arm around several times in large circles.

"This…feels…amazing…" she said in complete bliss and proceeded to kiss her new metal hand, "oh righty, how I missed you so."

Both Autobots stared at her as she kissed the hand a few more times before she looked back at them.

"Ok, bring 'em out." She said with a smirk while cracking both sides of her neck, "I'm ready."

Cliffjumper shared the smirk as he reached back behind him and proceeded to toss up several empty Energon crates into the air. Evee thrust out her metal fist and shot a sharpened grappling claw towards them. It latched onto the first cube, and she threw it clear over the treetops. With some effort and a lot of concentration, the metal on the arm began to rearrange and shift until it reformed into a long barreled cannon.

"BAM!" She shouted, firing an Energon round up into the air and blasting two of the remaining cubes at the same time, reducing them to smithereens. She quickly reverted the arm to its original form and hollered triumphantly, thrusting her fists up above her head.

"Oh yes! Who is the best group of Cybertronian engineers around? That's right, we are!" She cheered and strut around as if she were in a disco club, "Not one explosion this time! Cliffjumper, do the thing!"

"Already doing it!" the red Autobot said with a stupid grin and activated his radio. Ratchet groaned and rolled his eyes, calling for a ground bridge as he watched the pair dancing and celebrating to their "victory song"

"Don't need nothin' but a good time! How can I resiiiist, ain't looking for nothin' but a good time, and it don't get better than this!" Evee sang while playing an air guitar and made the off key rifts along with the blasting music. Cliffjumper was rocking his head and mimicking her 'guitar' clearly enjoying being so stupid with the half-human and disturbing the peaceful tranquility of nature.

"How dignified…" Ratchet grumbled to himself, slipping away from them through the swirling green vortex without them even noticing he had gone. When he emerged on the other side inside the silo, Optimus glanced up from his current muddling on the computer and gave the medic a curious look.

"Were the tests successful?" he asked, not so subtly searching for any signs of scorch marks on Ratchet's finish.

"I…think so." His friend replied, sounding almost bewildered with what just happened while shaking his helm and making his way to his medical bay without another word. The Prime smiled slightly to himself and returned to his project.

Only the half-human could make Ratchet so silent, even after all the time of her being with them, her strange habits bewildered them all.
