"Life and Limb"
Chapter Twenty – "Epilogue by Lydia"
By: purple
Dear purpleu's Readers,
Hallo! This is Lydia, checking in with you after what purpleu put us all through in "Life and Limb." Whew! I need a moment to catch my breath. Life and death, joy and sorrow…she threw it all at us; but we're OK. Yes, Greg, too. I know you worry about him as much as I do. The way things happened with his mother was so sad. It was such a shame that Greg felt such hurt and pain from the way John House treated him that he couldn't see through it to know how wonderful Blythe and Reverend Bell really were. I know that he…we…will be dealing with his guilt for a long, long time. Maybe he'll find some peace if he gives Thomas a chance; I'm sure he has delightful stories about himself and Blythe over the years. I don't see any way that Thomas couldn't be Greg's father, but I also understand the need to take things slowly; as you all know, trust doesn't come easily to Greg. I promise to keep an eye on him and try to make sure he's alright; I love him too much not to.
James and Annie…soon to be Dr. and Mrs. James Wilson as well as Daddy and Mommy! I'm so happy for the both of them, especially after all the heartache and horror Annie's been through. I hope the trauma she's dealt with in the past doesn't make her pregnancy too difficult; I guess we'll have to take it a day at a time. One thing is for sure; I adore James for making my best friend so happy. I was afraid Annie wouldn't trust anyone ever again, but he surely found the way to her heart. I guess the four of us…James, Annie, Greg and myself…are all a bit alike in one way or another. Each of our partners brings out the best in us, just the way it ought to be. Fingers crossed that the chemotherapy goes well for James; Greg is already planning on buying a hairpiece to bust his chops with if he should start losing any hair!
Now, on to the next story that purpleu has planned for us. The title alone makes me very uneasy; it's called, "Ghosts of the Past." Ghosts aren't just apparitions of people…they can be real people, places, things, memories of what you did or didn't do. But like the best horror movie, they can haunt us, and invade our sleeping and waking moments. Purpleu tells me that these "ghosts" will be for the most part, quite familiar to you; I'm the one who is in for some rough introductions. *Sigh* It's a good thing I know she likes me!
Well, I have to be going; Greg is reading Harry Potter with the children and he's getting them too wound up; it's their bedtime. Purpleu wants to thank you all for your loyal readership and support over the two and half years she's been writing fanfiction. "Ghosts of the Past" will be posted on or around February 20th and it is her fifth story. Hmm…just in time for my birthday! I can't wait to see what mayhem will ensue this time!
Take care, all! Auf Wiedersehen!
Love,
Lydia
