I have been so careless. What possible reason could I have had to write about such incriminating topics? Once I'm president there will be nothing anyone can do, but suppose this little book is found before I get that far. Suppose during my "campaign" one of my opponents comes across this and uses it to turn the people against me? People are stupid. They're afraid of leaders with blood on their hands, which is incredibly ironic considering their love for the Games.

If they find this book, I'm done for. I can be quite charming, and I know for a fact I'd be the best president Panem ever had, but people can just be so silly. So my hand slipped a bit and my grandparents are dead. So what? They were annoying.

But this can't continue, it's simply not safe.

So from now on, I'm going to be Corry Snow, sweet little boy with an icky sweet smile who could never hurt anyone or anything, not even the smallest, ugliest, most disgusting, worthiest-of-death little cockroach.

When Mother calls me to the dining room - "Corry, sweety, won't you come eat some yummy food with me?" - I call back that of course I would simply adore to enjoy some yummy food with my dearest mother.

But on to more important matters. For the past two months I have tirelessly searched through articles and archives, some dating as far back as the third world war, looking for any mention of a General Snow. But while I was able to trace the Snow line back to a place called New Hampshire around the time of World War III, I found no mention of any highly ranked Peacekeeper until late last night.

I was looking through a list of criminals and deserters from the Dark Days, a list of Capitolites wanted for "trial" and execution. The list had been wiped from the public database, forcing me to hack into the Department of Criminal Affairs database. Near the end of the list, between the names of a spy for District Thirteen and a man accused of selling weapons to rebels, was an entry that made me freeze in surprise:

Snow, Antony (b. 2169). Peacekeeper general 2194-2198. Killed 32 of his troops the night before an impending battle against District Six rebels. Deserted army, is believed to have joined the rebels. Still at large: the award for his capture is $60 million.

Were it not in a reputable archive, I would not believe it. How could I, such a pure, good Capitol citizen, be descended from a traitor? This does not bode well for my future. The president's intelligence forces are surely monitoring our family, and when I run for office, it will certainly come up that my grandfather deserted and fought for the rebellion.

I wonder if Marcus knows. If he does not know already, he certainly will by the time I run for president, and he will most definitely use it against me. It is imperative that he is not around when the time comes, but I don't know how I can arrange his permanent absence, to use more discreet language. Since the last incident, a set of Peacekeepers has accompanied him wherever he goes. I wouldn't be able to get within ten feet of him, and he will be especially cautious in my presence.

Perhaps I ought to wait and hope they lower their guard. Maybe Marcus will remember that I am only a scrawny ten-year-old and not worthy of any extra caution. It may take years, but it seems to be my best option.

Marcus remains a threat, but at least now I know where I stand. I need only to eliminate all incriminating evidence for Antony Snow. Once the Snow line has been purged of all crimes and inadequacies, I can achieve my destiny without worrying about the interference of the past.

Signing off for now,

Sweet, harmless Corry Snow

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted anything. But now the school year is nearly over, so I thought, hey, why don't I update this?

Anyways, what do you think our friend Corry is going to do about his grandfather?
