A/N: I sincerely apologize for taking so long to update the last chapter. It was quite a struggle when I'm being so lazy and having a writer's block every time. Anyway, I finally did it! Yay me~ So here's the last and longest update. Thank you for reading.

She was lying again on her bed with her massive headphones on her head, music blasting to each of her ears. She's trying to forget everything for a while, forget that Aubrey didn't answer her. Any answer would have been okay, well maybe a no won't be because she really wants to go out with Aubrey but acquiring no response at all is driving her crazier. She squeezed her eyes shut as she tried to remove all images of earlier's happenings in her head, mentally singing along with the song playing on her gadget. It was almost impossible to forget everything for a while when she couldn't think of anything to distract her from her thoughts on Aubrey. She's lucky that Kimmy Jin is out or else her roommate might kill her with glares due to her constant sighing and grumbling. As the music transitioned to a little silent beat, she heard something pounding. She ignored it at first, thinking that maybe it's a part of the song she's listening to. She stared at the ceiling, thinking about Aubrey again. She frowned when she heard the blonde call her name, thinking that she's stressing too much about the girl. She shut her eyes tightly again and tried to be lost in the song she's listening to but hearing her name once more made her grip her hair and remove her headphones. Once removed, she clearly heard a series of loud knock on the door.

"I don't care with what you are doing right now, Mitchell! I'm coming in!"

And in an instant, the door shot open with a blonde rushing in and slamming the door shut. Beca sat right up and stared at Aubrey.

"A-Aubrey, what are you doing here? How long have you been there?"

"Seriously? You're asking me that? I was knocking for about 5 minutes. I almost punched a hole through your door." Aubrey was trying to calm herself down, keeping her fists on her sides.

"I'm sorry. I didn't hear you." The DJ gave an apologetic look while raising the headphones on her hand.

"Right. DJ thing." Aubrey pursed her lips together as she forgot that Beca has the option to put her big headphones and let music blast, totally ignoring the world.

"Yeah... Uhm. W-what brought you here? Is there an emergency practice or something?" Beca fixed her hair and sat on her bed properly.

"About that..." Aubrey walked towards Beca's bed and arranged the sheets and pillows before sitting down beside the brunette. She breathed in deeply and composed herself.

"There's no emergency practice. If there is, I would have pulled you out of this room in an instant once I got in for sure." Beca raised her brows at the stated fact. She kept silent as she waited for Aubrey to continue.

"I came here because I want to apologize for what happened at lunch. Walking out on you was very rude of me. I shouldn't have done that." Aubrey breathed out the air she didn't know she was holding. She continued staring down on her lap and thought about what to say next.

"That's okay. You're just shocked, I guess..." Beca pursed her lips together as she looked down on her lap too.

"I don't know. Maybe I was shocked. I mean, I didn't expect that you would really like me or even ask me out on a date. No one really had that kind of interest on me, you know? That kind where the one who likes me would really ask me on a date. It's always just hang out, date as they say, but after that, there's nothing more. One date and nothing comes next after that. Sometimes, not even a text message or a call. I just grew tired of it."

Hearing those words from Aubrey made Beca frown. Why would anyone do that to Aubrey? She thought to herself. The brunette looked at the blond beside her and studied her for a moment.

"That sucks..." Beca squinted at her own choice of words.

"What I'm trying to say is you deserve better than that because you're awesome. I really think you're great, Aubrey, even though I don't really show it. This thing I have for you is something. And if I ignore this, I'm sure I'll regret it later on..." Aubrey felt the sincerity in Beca's words as the brunette looked through her eyes. BEca slowly put her hand on Aubrey's and held it. She looked back at Aubrey's eyes for a moment before speaking.

"All I ask is a chance... It won't hurt to try, right?" Beca smiled softly at the blonde, waiting for an answer, hoping that this time, Aubrey would consider it.

Aubrey looked down on Beca's hand on hers. It made her feel nervous but in a nice way. She thinks of removing her hand from the grip but that's only what she tries to think or what she pushes her mind to think. She loves the feeling of the brunette's hands on hers; the warmth from the soft pale skin of the tiny brunette calms her a midst the fluttering feeling she has on her stomach.

She looks back on the DJ's face, studying each feature before turning her sight to the pair of steely blue orbs that look straight at her, patiently waiting for her answer.

"I think I've been over-thinking things that I'm not considering other possibilities anymore. I guess I should also give myself a chance and give us a try." Aubrey smiles meekly at the brunette who has eyes wide open at the response she heard. Beca hugs her out of joy which caught Aubrey off guard. The blonde wasn't able to move for a moment and she felt her heart beating so hard against her chest. The brunette snaps out of her excitement and tenses at the contact she made with the blonde. She immediately breaks the hug and releases the breath that she didn't know she was holding. Aubrey pulls the hem of her blouse and fixes her hair behind her ear, trying to compose herself.

"I-I'm sorry. I was just really happy." Beca blushes a bit and awkwardly laughs. Aubrey, failing to come up with anything to say, just smiles back at her. Beca looks at her alarm clock and something came up in her mind.

"Oh shit." The tiny brunette gasped as she immediately stood up from the bed and grabbed Aubrey's hand.

"Why? What's wrong?" The confused blond followed the brunette's movement as she was being dragged towards the door.

"It's almost dark and I haven't planned anything! You should go home and get ready. I'll pick you up at 7." Beca grinned at her one last time before she closed the door, leaving a surprised and confused Aubrey outside her room.

"Oh. Okay." She told to herself as she turned around and walked through the corridor. She can't help but smile at the brunette's actions. She finds it unpredictable and cute, making her excited about the DJ's plan for their date tonight.

Aubrey took her time in walking back to her place. It's not like she'll be rushing later in preparing. She knew how long it would take her to get ready. She just needed to calm herself, because too much thinking about the excitement she's feeling might stress her out. She doesn't want what happens when she's stressed out. Not today or later.

When she comes to think of it, it's really weird that she actually agreed to a date with the person that annoyed her from the first time she saw her in the activities fair. At first, she thought she would easily dismiss the girl with ear monstrosities and never have to deal with her again. Apparently, she found someone who could be as stubborn as she is and maybe even worse. She never imagined that this girl would like her either. No one has ever told her that she was somebody's type or whatsoever, or that's what she thought. She didn't consider a thing about dating anymore since she was always busy with things, especially in proving her real worth in other ways.

She thought she's okay without having to date anymore and just focus on other things important. But when this thing with Beca came along, she felt flattered that finally, someone has given her attention that she's been wanting but never really asked from anyone.

Aubrey didn't notice that she's already at their apartment when her phone buzzed. Beca had texted her.

Wear something comfortable. See you later. :)

Aubrey can't seem to remove the smile plastered on her face as she walked through the door. Chloe, who was in the living room, saw her best friend looking happy, knew right then that it'd been good.

"Something happening later?" Chloe asked instantly and her best friend nodded in response. The redhead jumped from her seat and ran towards the blonde to grab her hand.

"I'm gonna help you with that!" Chloe excitedly told her as they went inside Aubrey's room.

She knew how important being on time is for Aubrey so she came ten minutes early. Beca's constantly checking her phone for the time and for text messages. She wanted this date to be great for Aubrey. She keeps on huffing breaths and fixing her shirt as she runs down the things that should happen later on in her head. It's bizarre for her, really; standing in front of the door, waiting for Aubrey to come with her is still unbelievable. She can't help but smile to herself and giggle a little at the thought that she made the great Aubrey Posen agree on going out with her. She felt ecstatic.

The door opens and Beca snaps back to her senses.

"Beca." Aubrey was surprised to see the brunette standing there. Beca was speechless for a moment and found herself caught by the presence of the blond. She looks amazing. She thought, as she glanced at every feature of Aubrey, from the fancy curls of her golden hair and her captivating blue eyes. Beca let out a breath.

"You look amazing." Beca spoke absent-mindedly as she adored the blond. Aubrey smiled meekly at the compliment.

"Thank you. You're early, I'm impressed."

"I didn't think coming late will be good, especially that it's you that I'm taking on a first date."

"It's nice of you to remember."

Beca held out a stem of white tulip to Aubrey sheepishly. "This is for you."

Aubrey accepted it. "Thanks. Come in for a sec. I'll just put this inside and get my purse, then we can go." She opened the door for Beca and went to her room while the brunette stood still near the door.

"Oh you're here!" Chloe chirped when she saw Beca. The tiny brunette waved awkwardly at her as the redhead walked towards her and hugged her. Aubrey appeared seconds later and approached the two ladies.

"Let's go?" Aubrey asked Beca and the DJ nodded in reply. Before they can even open the door, Chloe grabbed them and put her arms on their shoulders.

"I'm so happy for you guys!" Chloe hugs them.

"Me too. Let go now, Chlo." Beca struggles through the hug. Chloe complies and the other two fix their hair and clothes.

"We're leaving. I'll see you later Chloe." Aubrey opens the door and exits, Beca following her.

"I'll be expecting the details, you guys! Enjoy." Chloe winks at them and closes the door. Beca rolls her eyes.

She runs towards her car and opens the door for Aubrey. She closes it as soon as the blond settles in and walked towards the driver's seat. Beca starts the engine.

"So where are you taking me?" Aubrey asked as she fastened her seat belt.

"You'll find out later. " The DJ started driving.

"I hope you're not taking me to somewhere dark and creepy."

"And what? Kill you or something?" Beca laughed and looked at the blond incredulously for a moment before she returned her eyes on the road.

"Maybe. This might be a trap to keep me out of your way into leading the Bellas. I'm just making sure." Aubrey smirked as she looked at the DJ.

"You're being crazy, Aubrey. I won't do that. Well, not this way." Beca was expressionless and this made Aubrey raise her eyebrow.

"Stop it!" She slapped the arm of the brunette.

"Ow! I'm just kidding!" Beca gasped and rubbed her arm. The car stopped at a red light and the DJ was biting her lip to suppress a laugh.

"What's funny Mitchell?"

"You're being paranoid, you know that?"

"I guess I'm just over thinking some things." Aubrey sighed. Suddenly, she felt warmth on her cold hands. Beca's hand is holding hers and she felt nervous. She's nervous but she felt good about Beca's hand holding her. She looked at her and saw that Beca's looking at her too with a smile on her face.

"Don't think too much. Relax, okay?"

The blond nodded and Beca returned to driving. They were silent but not in an awkward way. The only sound was the music coming from the radio and they listened to it, enjoying the melody it brings to their ears. It wasn't that long when Beca turned at a corner and parked near a big restaurant. She quickly got out of the car and opened the door for Aubrey.

"We're going in there?" The older Bella asked, referring to the big fancy restaurant. She's been wanting to go there but she hasn't had the time and also the reason to go alone. And this certain restaurant has lists of reservations for all she knew that never seem to end even after the year is over.

"Yes. Is there something wrong?" They stopped right before the reception area where some people are waiting to be seated.

"I think their reservation list has been full for a long time. Do you have a reservation?"

"Trust me. We'll be there before others can enter." Beca assured her and approached the receptionist.

"Hi. Name, please?" The lady greeted.

"Beca Mitchell."

"Ah, yes. Here it is. Follow me inside."

Aubrey's surprised that Beca's indeed on the list. They were directed to a table near the center where a grand piano was placed and a big chandelier is hanging above it. Aubrey was in awe as she looked around the place and admired the wonderful ambiance. There was music and beautiful lights. Beca offered her to take a seat and the lady left them with the menu lists.

"How were you able to have a reservation here?"

"I have connections." As if right on cue, an old man dressed in a nice suit approached them.

"Beca! How's my wonderful niece doing?" Beca stood up and hugged the man.

"I'm good. You?"

"Same. I'm glad to see you here tonight."

"Thank you for having us here. I really appreciate it."

"Anything for my favorite niece." The old man squeezed the tiny brunette into hug once more and Aubrey noticed that Beca didn't really mind the contact even if she knew Beca was not into personal space invasion.

"By the way, this is Aubrey. Aubrey, this is my Uncle Henry."

The blond stood up and reached out her hand. "It's nice to meet you sir."

Henry didn't shake her hand and hugged her instead. "What a lovely lady! Just call me Henry, dear."

"Have a seat, you two. I'll take care of everything. Any special requests?"

"We'll have a bottle of champagne please."

"Perfect. I'll leave you for now." He left the two ladies and talked to some staff.

"Hey, if you want anything, just tell me. He kind of likes surprises so I don't really know what he'll be getting us."

"It's fine. I'm actually waiting for it. He seems like a great guy."

"Totally. He'd been the father figure I had when my dad was gone."

"It's good that you have him. I can see that you're very close with him."

"Yeah, I'm grateful. He's amazing."

"Excuse me, ladies. Here's your champagne." The waiter poured the drink in each glasses. Beca held hers and raised it a bit, looking at Aubrey before having a sip and Aubrey does the same.

"This place is really beautiful. I've been wanting to be here ever since."

"I know. I'm happy you like it." The brunette smiled proudly. Aubrey put down her glass and wiped her lips lightly.

"You know? How?"

"I may have done a little research and also trusted my instincts. Luckily, I think I'm doing well so far for this night." Beca smirked and took another sip of her drink.

The curious blond is quite amazed by the efforts of the DJ. "A little confident huh? The night's still young so I'd still be the one to judge by the end of this date." Aubrey smirked too, making Beca raise her eyebrows and take one more sip from her glass before putting it down. Beca puts he palms together right under her chin.

"Let's just hope I don't mess this up."

The older Bella laughs to herself softly. "We'll see about that."

Henry appears with a waiter behind him. "Hey ladies. Our chef prepared a special meal for you. If you need anything, just approach us. Have a wonderful night." The waiter served their dinner and carried on.

Aubrey's surprised once more when she found out that the food served for her is one of her favorites. She looked at Beca and the brunette gestured for her to eat her meal. The smile on Aubrey's face was treasure to Beca's heart. They continued talking in between meals and the banters were also present. It seems like their conversations wouldn't be complete if no one challenges the other. It made the talks more fun and alive, one laughing at the other's comments and sarcastic remarks. Being too sappy made Beca roll her eyes in her mind. She isn't to it for now but maybe for the next time they hang out together, she might let that side of her evident for the blond.

"Are you in for dessert?" Beca asked as she wiped the sides of her lips with napkin.

"I'd love that." Aubrey finished her meal while Beca gestured the waiter to get their dessert. The waiter appears with two slices of house specialty cake and Aubrey obviously loves it as she tasted it. They continued having small talks while eating. Beca's glad to see that Aubrey's enjoying the night and she surely wants it to be perfect for the both of them.

Beca puts in one last serving of the dessert in her mouth and drinks water. "Excuse me for a moment. I'll just go to the restroom."

Aubrey continues with her dessert. Once she was satisfied, she drank half glass of water and paused for a moment. She takes a look inside her purse and checks her phone. She received 3 messages and all from Chloe bugging her about her date with Beca. The last text message made Aubrey scrunch her face a little and roll her eyes. She didn't want to answer the message: Text me if you want me out of the apartment before you get home okay? xo ;) because apparently she isn't sure either what to answer. Is it necessary? She thought.

Beca was taking a while but Aubrey didn't mind. She just observed the place and the people around her, taking note of every detail that pleases her. The music goes off for a while but goes back quickly with a new piece she was quite familiar with until it stops once more. Someone taps the microphone lightly and speaks to test it.

"Good evening everyone. I hope everyone's having a great time. I would like to perform one song if you wouldn't mind though? Yeah?" The guests look at her and smile. She took this as a good sign so she went on. Aubrey knew that voice and saw Beca seated at the grand piano. She watched her intently.

Beca looks at Aubrey endearingly and smiles. "To Aubrey, I hope you're enjoying the night. This one's for you."

The brunette starts playing through the smooth ivory keys of the piano and pauses a bit at the end of the intro before singing the first verse.

It's her hair and her eyes today
That just simply take me away
And the feeling that I'm falling further in love
Makes me shiver but in a good way

Everyone was watching Beca as she gracefully touched the keys of the piano and sang every lyric perfectly. She glanced every once in a while at Aubrey, singing the words to her directly. Her uncle was watching her too, seemingly proud of her and happy that she's seeing this side of Beca not only to himself but to the public. Especially that her niece is doing this for another person she cares about. On the other hand, Aubrey was feeling butterflies all over her stomach and her heart is beating fast, finally not in a sickening way. For once, she loved the feeling. It made her feel weird and it was nice. She finally had this feeling again after a long time.

The song transgressed to the last part, Beca playing it soulfully this time as she touched every key softly. She closes her eyes and sings the last lines, feeling every word she sings and with only one person on her mind.

'Cause I love her with all that I am
And my voice shakes along with my hands
'Cause it's frightening to be swimming in this strange sea
But I'd rather be here than on land
Yes she's all that I see and she's all that I need
And I'm out of my league once again

Beca ends the song with her eyes still closed and opens them slowly as she sustained the last key. She smiles to herself as everyone in the room claps for her. She stands up to take a bow and the cheers were louder. She takes the stem of tulip on the grand piano and proceeds to her table with Aubrey. She hands it over to the blond who has a big smile all over her face and eyes that are shining. Aubrey takes the flower and hugs the tiny brunette, whispering a heartfelt thank you. She breaks the hug and takes her hand to leave the restaurant.

The car arrives in front of Aubrey's apartment fifteen minutes later and Beca turns off the engine. The both of them are feeling ecstatic.

"So this concludes our night. Can I say now that I did well?" Beca turned to Aubrey and flashed a smirk. Aubrey chuckled softly as she shook her head then turned to look at the DJ.

"You did great. I had an awesome night. I can't really explain how to describe it."

"The best perhaps?" Beca joked and laughed.

"You can say that but it still depends whether the next dates would be better than this one."

Beca's face lit up as she heard them right from Aubrey. She's fighting the urge to yell for victory and just plastered a big smile.

"This will definitely not be the only best night you'll ever have."

"Noted!" Aubrey chuckled softly once more and Beca never saw her laugh or smile this much in just one night. It made her heart race.

"It's getting late. You should go inside." Beca removed her seat belt and was about to open the door when Aubrey grabbed her arm and put her other hand at the back of Beca's neck. She pulled Beca towards her and kissed her brunette froze at the sudden contact but caught up with it and kissed her back. Their bodies were so close and each other's hands were feeling the warmth of their skin. The kiss they shared was tender, sweet and just right. They broke the kiss and rested their foreheads together.

"Thank you Beca, for making me feel special."

"Thank you for giving me a chance and letting me make you feel special."

Beca caressed Aubrey's face as they looked at each other's eyes. "Good night Beca." Aubrey pulled her in for one last kiss and went out of the car. The brunette watched her walk towards her door and turn around to wave at her one last time before entering her apartment. She turned on the engine and left, feeling high as the cloud nine on the way home. The DJ felt great that she didn't mess up and her efforts weren't wasted, finally.

It wasn't so bad to have a huge toner for a Bella after all, she thought.

Yes she's all that I see and she's all that I need
And I'm out of my league once again.
