I apologize that this chapter took so long for me to post. By the looks of it, I've had it on backlog for a while and forgot to post it. I haven't properly added to any of the chapters for a few years I think (for a variety of reasons), though I do have intentions to finish this story. By the looks of it, I have about 3 chapters left until this story is done. As this is one of my oldest projects and I'm close, I have full intentions on finishing it.
I own nothing but my OCs like usual. I know that in the next chapter, Naminé's group will be involved. I mentioned the current situation in chapter 17, where the group was present, but we all know that the show must go on at this point.
Here's chapter 19! (I'm mainly going to get to the point with these last few chapters)

Chapter 19: Sun and Moon
One left. They only had one left with their quota, and with it, they could help with what came next. There was uncertainty with how far Naminé's group was as well as Pit and Sora's group, but it was assumed they would at least have 1 of the Commander's Forces taken down. Sora's group definitely had more to take on since they had at least four people to deal with rather than their three.
Viridi seemed pleased. "Everyone's keeping up a great pace. You only have Sol, the Phoenix, left. It's good you have water-boy there to extinguish the flames. And also Lea to absorb them. This battle will likely be a breeze for you."
"Wasn't Sol the one who messed up the pillars at the temple just to taunt us?" Neku asked Viridi. She went quiet in her transmission for a moment as they kept going. When she came back, she responded.
"Yeah. She did. Just as a quick warning, she's reaaaally full of herself, so if she's a braggart during the battle, don't let it bother you."
"Saki said that we need to hurry and that we don't have much time. I'm unsure what Sol will do." Neku indicated, only pushing the rush. It didn't take as long to get to Sol's door, but they didn't have the patience to wait for anything special to happen.
The good thing that they quickly found out was that Sol didn't have much of a patience threshold either. It wasn't out of desperation or anything, but Sol was like a fire—she'd rather burn everything than wait for something to happen.
Her back was turned to the five of them as they came in as she stood atop a platform, but they barely avoided her attack when she suddenly turned around with a Leo Cannon on her arm and she blasted off an explosion that slammed the door with a bang. The back of the door- which was currently evident—looked charred. It quickly came to a conclusion that Sol did this a lot.
Before they could react, Sol switched her weapon to a Burning Palm and did a back flip. She landed gracefully on the ground, and her fiery wings spread out. A cheerful yet crazy grin was on her freckled face when she stared at them. "Hey fellas! Ready to get your wings scorched off like Pit in Chapter 21 of Uprising?"
Neku raised an eyebrow. "Uh, I'm pretty sure nobody wants to die from 3rd degree burns today."
Sol kept her cheerful attitude despite the fact she said something oddly chilling next. "Welp! We're all probably going to end up burning up and getting a game over today, so let's have some fun with the last few hours of our lives that we have!"
The Phoenix had simply raised an alarming large red flag at the fact she blatantly told them, "we're all going to die so who cares" without even worrying about her own existence. Her cheerfulness seemed to almost be some kind of façade for hopelessness and fear.
But obviously, she was hiding that. Viridi decided to at least call her out for it before the second combat team engaged with them because nobody wanted to die in this situation. With the current state of the heavens, losing a lot of angels wasn't the best route to go down at this time, especially as all were needed in this fight.
"Ok, hold the phone! What about everyone burning alive in a few hours?"
Sol flipped her pony tail and didn't answer. Her expression changed from a happy one to a serious and far bitterer one. She stretched her arms and her wings before getting into a fighting stance. "We can't risk stalling any longer. We have to fight, and we have to get out of here before this joint gets wrecked! She doesn't understand what she's done, and what's going to happen to everything based on her decisions!"
There was absolutely no time for Q&A as Sol began to attack right away. The angel seemed to be aware of the fact her palm weapon had a short firing distance and took a while to charge, so she decided to deal with the biggest threat first.
Not-so-surprisingly, in Sol's mind, it was Demyx. And Demyx was taken completely off guard as Sol tried to set him ablaze with her Burning Palm. He blocked her attack, and held off her flurry, but not-so-obviously, his team mates were alarmed by her sudden attack.
Lea avoided attacking directly with fire and attempted to use his chakrams. He wouldn't use his Keyblade (which so far, he hadn't used) unless it was out of desperation, but he wasn't entirely trained with it yet. Roxas tried to strike with his Keyblades; Neku was going to use his Lightning Rook pin; Zexion was prepared to attack with as many illusions as possible; and Demyx was still blocking.
Sol, out of some kind of desperation, engulfed her body in flames and sent an inferno burst at the four trying to surround her. It blasted ¾ of them and knocked them back, but Lea was immune to the attack. It was partially to due his Tears of Flame ring (which made him completely immune to fire), but also partially due to the fact that Axel-whom we all know as his nobody-was also completely immune to it. In this instance, it applied to the situation, so it'll slide for now.
Lea came at Sol with his chakrams, and proceeded to start fighting her off. Sol was good at dodging and blocking, and when she felt threatened; she ducked and then tried to sweep Lea off his feet. However, with a grin, Lea sidestepped, and Sol was suddenly hit when Demyx came at her with his water pillar attack. Sol gasped, when Neku used his Lightning Rook and hit Sol with lightning when she was wet, and she let out a gasp, falling over onto her knees.
Sol wasn't dead, but she was hurt. She breathed somewhat heavily, only to attempt standing up and balancing herself, but she failed.
In an upset, and with a flash of Sol's eyes, she tried conjuring pillars upon pillars of fire to scorch them, but Demyx either put them out, or Lea became a shield to take it. Sol growled, and then let out a deep breath.
"…I… you didn't get to let me go all out… hah…" She spoke, her words not making much sense. Sol took another breath, and considered what the five had done now. She ran a hand through her ponytail as they gazed upon her. "…You need to get out of here. This place will likely be destroyed soon… we don't have much time…"
"If we need to get out, why aren't you moving?" Roxas asked. He appeared to be unconvinced, which Sol found annoying, but feelings weren't doing all that much for her at this time.
"…I'll…I'll get out later. You though… you need to start getting out now. I'll be able to manage on my own." Sol said, continuing to recover. The boys seemed untrusting, leading Sol to sigh and glare. Her voice shook around the chamber when she spoke, urging them to get out as she unlocked the chamber and allowed the doors to creak open. "GO! NOW!"
Zexion and his team proceeded to obey the order and left, waiting to receive further orders from Viridi. When Sol was finally alone, she let out a sigh and looked up to the ceiling. "…Please… please stop her…."

(Moon Hall)
Like Jade had ordered, the main team headed down the next hall. It was oddly dark, but lights appeared to flick on when they came past, and left the room glimmering like stars when they finally got to the end. The floors were wooden, with a starry rug, and the large doors before the group appeared to also be wooden, but there were symbols of the full moon and stars engraved on the door.
Sora stared puzzled at the door, worrying that it would be trapped. Then again, Jade's door wasn't trapped, but as for this next general, they wouldn't know. Carefully, Sora tapped on the door, but it didn't open. He then pulled on the handles and tried to push in, only finding that the door was locked.
If there wasn't the fact that Keyblades existed (at least, they currently did in this world), then everyone would most likely be having much bigger problems in terms of unlocking it than they would've now. Sora and Riku summoned their blades and raised them to the door. Beams of light fired from the tips of their weapons, and then, the doors unlocked. It appeared to slowly open, but the doors only appeared to lead into darkness.
A calm, gentle voice echoed from inside the room and into the hall. "Come in, come in. The darkness isn't as dangerous as it seems. You know that we don't have much time, so I assure you, loitering around truly isn't for the better…" It was very likely that it was General Luna speaking. Luna was one of the few Angels that Pit and the others had no knowledge of fighting, and all they knew was that she had set up the defenses around the Silent Sanctum as the General of Defense.
There was great hesitation with the idea of stepping in. However, they didn't have much of a choice. When Pit and the rest of the group stepped in, the doors closed behind them.
For a few moments, the group was in darkness. However, dim light poured in from the stained glass ceiling, and the light eventually grew brighter and brighter, acting like the light of a full moon, yet this pale "moonlight" didn't light the room. An angel with blue hair as dark as the night, large cool grey wings (from the back), and a vivid gown as blue as the night sky with the darkness of space faced them from the back.
This was General Luna—the General of Defense. She was the one who had set up all of the defenses around the Silent Sanctum and had a passive role when it came to offense in comparison to Jade and the other general. She twirled her staff, and remained in quiet.
Her voice was soothing when she spoke—calm in expectance. "I'm surprised that you fought Jade. We haven't much time with the current state that we're in. I, too, would prefer not to battle and would want you to pass. The person ahead of me is the most diluded when it comes to this situation." She said, flipping her long hair.
She looked back, fluttering her eyelashes. A sad, pained look was upon her face. "Still, I already know why you remain here, not going past me like I'd want you to. It would be incredibly anticlimactic if I just let you past me, wouldn't it? We all know it would just be a missed opportunity as this is one of the last chapters of this tale." Luna looked away, and her staff glowed, making the room grow dark.
Pit had a feeling this would happen. It reminded him of when he was in the Lunar Sanctum. Though Dark Pit was against him at the time, and didn't see him, Luna's ability over darkness reminded him of Arlon. However, Luna was very unlikely to move an attack like Arlon.
The Moonlit Maiden hadn't started to attack yet. In the darkness, Pit could see a familiar glimmer of purple and yellow. Dark Pit saw it as well, and recognized it. "Hey. Isn't that a Midnight Palm?" He asked quietly, noticing the faint glimmer begin to shift around.
Suddenly, crescent moon projectiles came at them with a back-dash attack, and the room began to glimmer with starlight from above. Luna was the one creating it, and she was also the one who had control over it. The problem was that it was dark, and that the heroes couldn't see well. Sora didn't know a spell that could simply light up his Keyblade, so they were stuck there.
Still, they had Joshua. He did have some peculiar divine powers (or at least, they supposed so. They didn't know what the Composer had up his sleeve). A smirk appeared on his face, and the other four (who were alert to any attacks and Luna's movements in the darkness) were taken aback when their weapons lit up.
There were obvious pros and cons to this. For one thing, they could see, but Luna could also see them. Luna was already able to see them in the dark, and she didn't really care whether or not they had light. She knew that attacking them just because they had light would be a foolish endeavor that would cause her to get hurt.
With a twirl of her staff, Luna lit up the area with star-like particles to make any other light sources seem pointless. She used her palm to fire attacks, as well as her staff to hit them with crescent beams.
Sora, Riku, Pit and Dark Pit were focusing on finding an opening on the General of Defense. Luna did not want to make it super easy to hit her. In fact, she was making it incredibly difficult TO hit her. Joshua was keeping a distance from Luna and wasn't studying openings she'd make. He knew it was likely she wasn't going to make any—for she wouldn't live up to her title if she did.
The battle dragged on as result. The other four were trying to figure out possible openings, though Luna tended to counter and backlash in order to protect herself. She also did NOT telegraph her attacks, while her foes had a slight habit to do so, giving her more opportunity.
It was only when she was cornered when an attack came out of the blue that took Luna off guard and created an opening to hit her. Joshua was the one who created the opening, but Luna was quick to try to make up for her weakness. It wasn't as effective as she wished for it to be, as the General was hit hard on all sides, but Luna knew how to make up for it.
As previously mentioned, one of Luna's features were her large wings. Most of the Commander's forces had moderately sized wings, or possibly even smaller ones (but they didn't know). Jade's wings were the only ones who were close to matching Luna's in size.
Luna knew that she couldn't use her arms to defend herself from attacks. That would risk more damage. To fend off her attackers and take them off guard, Luna's wings snapped open and spread, making her appear bigger and using it as an intimidation tactic. It partially worked—as she managed to knock Pit and Dark Pit back, but it didn't more Sora and Riku away.
Almost immediately after her wings were spread, Luna's great wings flapped as if she were to take off, but she managed to produce a powerful gust of wind that knocked Sora and Riku back a little. To gain some distance, Luna flipped back onto her feet (with surprising grace despite her clothing and her wings, which would've likely been quite heavy) and used wings and her back as a shield as she drew light to her staff.
She had forgotten Joshua was there until she was struck with columns (from out of nowhere) and more beams of light. The columns vanished as soon as she appeared, but she felt the pain. Somehow, Luna wasn't down yet, despite looking quite hurt. Her injury didn't stop her from losing her focus.
Twirling her staff once more, it glowed with pale light. Sora and Riku were getting back to gear, as were their angelic allies. The general didn't allow herself to be easily hit right away. Luna lit up multiple areas of her circular chamber with a wave of her palm (specifically aiming at Joshua and the rest of her foes), and snapped.
Blinding moonlight flashed and hit hard. Joshua couldn't avoid as easily midair and ended up hitting the ground, and though the attack hurt Riku and Dark Pit and left them stunned a moment, Sora was thankful for having some light resistance (as was Pit, though to a lesser extent).
The only issue was that charging the attack and her injuries left Luna open for more attacks. Pit and Sora came at her surprisingly fast, and managed to bring her down. Luna fell over with a thud, her staff clattering to the ground. Normal light flickered back into the room.
Dark Pit and Riku snapped back into it and came over to Sora and Pit, as did Joshua, who looked hurt from falling to the ground yet better than expected. Luna struggled to get up, but sat on her calves. The doors that served as the exit to her chamber creaked open.
Luna told the group one last thing. Her night blue eyes showed weariness and worry as she spoke. "Hurry to Yume's chamber… stop the Commander before its too late…" She begged, her breathing shaky.
"Why? Jade said the same thing not too long ago, and didn't explain-" Pit began to question her. Luna couldn't respond, as she fell unconscious.
It seemed that all they could do was move ahead now.

So, for these last few chapters up until the finale, I'm just going to go straight to the point and leave credits at the end if I must. Constantly having to write an opening before getting to the action tends to be more stressful than productive. That may just be me from the way I've been handling my writing lately.
This couple of year journey is close to being over! That is, if I remember to finish this thing.
Other than that, I'll see you all in the next chapter. I'm going to get the last few battles for the girl's groups over with. I was going to have Yume and Wisteria's battle in the same chapter, but I think it would be best to get each of the goals accomplished for each group instead of switching off.
Ciao!
