A/N: Hey... so I haven't been around for a while, you're probably wondering why. I'm sorry about that. But I just lost my interest in this story, I thought no one was really enjoying it and I wasn't enjoying writing it. That lasted for about a month when I decided to reread some of the reviews you guys left me. And I just felt my passion for this relight. So first off, if it weren't for you guys this story wouldn't even be happening so thank you so much for your support. You rock and I love you. After that I tried to write this chapter but, for the same reasons I listed in Tale of Dragons, I just didn't have time. I've written enough up here so I'll put those reasons at the bottom for whoever is interested.
Moving on to Review Replies:
Kaylee-Sempai: I do love a bit of drama, I'll admit it ^_^ Yeah she's a tough cookie, not sure if she's too soft on the inside but she has her moments ^_^ We shall see, won't we?
Sailor-Ruby-13: Yeah... I kind of made you wait longer than I should have, I'm very, very sorry.
MarinaStryke: Don't worry about it, the fact that you take the time to review means a lot to me ^_^ Yeah, I wanted to make it obvious that she puts up a bit of a front, glad that you caught that ^_^
Guest (review on chapter 3): Hmmm, interesting choice of pairing, I shall take what you said on board. Thank you, I try to link people up in some way and not just have any two characters come together when they wouldn't work in reality. Now normally I avoid giving spoilers but this is one I don't mind saying. Kaito is gay. He and Haruhi will NOT be getting together. Although I realise that that is kind of hinted at in the earlier chapters so I understand why you might have thought that ^_^ yeah, she has a lot of weight on her shoulders, but she'll keep powering through the best she can ^_^
fxvhysxhhdthbc: Your name took me a good twenty seconds to type ^_^ I'm sorry about the long wait, I hope this chapter helps!
Kaylee-Sempai (one shot suggestions reply): Hmm that is an interesting idea actually, I never thought of doing it from his perspective. I'll start working on it, not sure when I'll have it up and it might be shorter that the one for Amaya but I'll give it a go, thanks for the suggestion ^_^
Loveina(Chapter five): He rules all!
Momochan77: I am sorry! But thank you for supporting my story so much and sticking with it despite my no showing. The loyalty is massively appreciated. And I'm glad to hear you like my characters, it's always nerve wrecking to do a story with a lot of OCs because, let's face it, Mary Sues are freaking dull and it's hard to keep everyone original and fleshed out. I hope you like this chapter and I'll try not to leave you guys hanging like that again.
Without further ado (and there was been a lot) here is chapter 15!

"Well, I'm bored now." Amaya announced, yawning in her chair. Kyoya gave her an amused look, quirking his eyebrow elegantly.
"My, my, you did not last long, now did you?" He said with a smirk, turning from the painting he had been studying and walking back over to her. She shrugged at him casually, a small smile playing on her lips. He stopped in front of her, his fingertips gentling gliding back and forward over the top of Amaya's armrests.
"Well its hardly my fault you chose such an uninteresting activity for our date, now is it?"
Kyoya breathed a laugh through his nose, "Uninteresting? This is one of the finest modern art galleries in all of Japan. These artworks are considered some of the greatest in the country."
Amaya tilted her head to the side in scepticism, her brown eyed gaze flickering over to a white canvas covered in different neon paint splashes. "Greatest artwork in the country, hmmm?"
Kyoya chuckled, walking behind Amaya's chair in a graceful movement. "Well, some of them require a more artistic insight than others."
Amaya glared up at him, "Are you trying to call me artistically challenged, Ootori?"
"Scientific minds do tend to struggle with creativity."
Amaya pursed her lips and nodded her head. "Yup, you're saying I'm artistically challenged."
Kyoya chuckled, "I think you'll find the words artistically challenged never-"
"Hey! Its Kyoya and Amaya!"A voice called out.
"Hmmm, I wonder what they're doing here..." Another voice chimed in, coming closer to the pair now. Amaya felt a presence come in on either side of her and let out a sigh.
"Could it possibly be..." The first voice queried.
"They're on a date?" The two finished in unison.
"Great, you two, just what I needed to make this day even better." Amaya groaned. Kyoya paused in his wheeling of Amaya to slide his glasses up his nose. As cool as ever, he cleared his throat,
"Hikaru, Kaoru, I was not aware you were attending this gallery today." Kyoya said brightly, though the annoyance in his voice was hard to mistake.
Hikaru laughed and Kaoru smirked. "Well, if we told you, you might not have come." Kaoru pointed out.
"And then we wouldn't have been able to see Amaya." They threw their arms around the blonde girl who sat in her chair with her arms crossed over her chest.
"Somehow I doubt you guys missed me that much since yesterday."
Hikaru smiled, "Yeah, but these events are always so boring."
"You and Kyoya being here gives us somebody to play with." Kaoru said.
"And because we're in public, Kyoya can't kill us!" They announced proudly.
"Although I hardly need you two alone to orchestrate certain unfortunate events, I feel as though I should point out that I will have easy access to both of you come Monday." Kyoya said sweetly. The twins froze and glanced at each other across Amaya.
"Ah." Kaoru said carefully.
"The thing is..." Hikaru began, he and his brother standing up slowly.
"We didn't think of that." They finished together, looking worried. Kyoya smiled.
"Well then, I suggest you take this moment to put in any last minute requests before-"
"Ootori, shh, stop plotting homicide for a second." Amaya hissed, waving her hand in front of his face. Kyoya scowled and grabbed the hand with his to stop it flailing about in front of his eyes. He held it there and looked down at his girlfriend in confusion.
"What is it, Amaya?" He asked. She smirked up at him and twisted her hand gently in his grip so their palms were splayed out against each other.
"I just spotted a certain brunette and ebony haired ensemble come through the door." Amaya explained with a smirk. Kyoya rose his eyebrows for a second and followed her line of vision. His dark eyed gaze fell on the door where he saw the couple Amaya was referring to.
"Seems my date idea was not as original as I had hoped." Kyoya mused. Amaya chuckled lightly.
"Evidently not. Either that or you and Datkin have very similar misconceptions of fun."
.
Haruhi glanced around the art gallery with wide eyes. The pristine white walls were lined with painting and portraits of all different shapes and sizes. Tapestries depicting everything from tranquil forest scenes to dark and distraught images of war hung from the ceiling. Sculptures both abstract and clear sat on pedestal throughout the huge room. The centre of the room had a high roof, allowing Haruhi to see people admiring the art on the second and third floor as they walked along the corridors.
"Wow." She breathed, suddenly feeling very underdressed. She glanced back to see Midori finishing the phone call she had gotten as she left the limo. The older girl gave her an apologetic smile as she continued speaking down the line rapidly in a language Haruhi couldn't even recognise, much less understand.
Cautiously, Haruhi stepped forward into the room. She spotted an interesting portrait that seemed to be a forest fire that had been painted entirely in different shades of blue. Except the flames, which had been coloured green. With a curious gaze she began to walk over to it so as to admire it better.
Immediately a body walked in front of her. Haruhi jumped back, peeking up to see a powerfully built, tall man looking down at her with a suspicious gaze. He had an ear piece on and was dressed in a simple black suit that screamed security.
"Em, sorry, I didn't see you there." Haruhi apologised politely, despite the fact that the man clearly stepped into her path and not the other way around.
"Yeah, I guessed as much. May I ask your name?" The man said gruffly, giving Haruhi a once over that made her feel very self conscious. The downturn to his mouth and the way he folded his arms across his chest gave Haruhi plenty of indication that he didn't think she belonged in the gallery.
"Fujioka Haruhi." Haruhi answered, frowning a little at the man's manners.
"I'm afraid I don't remember seeing your name on the list of invites. And I've memorised the list of invites."
"Well, I, eh-" Haruhi spluttered, embarrassed.
"I imagine that is because her name is not Plus One." A voice said coolly. Haruhi relaxed when she felt Midori stand beside her. The powerful woman gave the man a smile with a little too much teeth to be sweet. "Or did I miss the part where I was denied permission to bring a guest?"
The man paled instantly under Midori's emerald gaze. "I, apologies, I did not realise, that she.."
"Came with me? Yes, well, you could not have known. You shouldn't be expected to know everyone, now can you?"
"I..."
"I mean, it's not as though that's your job, now is it? Oh, but wait. It is. I should probably introduce myself actually, just so you're not confused. I'm Datkin Midori. CEO of the Datkin Empire."
"Oh, come now, Midori, I hardly think you are a woman that requires an introduction." A voice smooth and accented said from behind the bodyguard. Midori smiled, releasing her victim from her cool stare and glanced past him.
"My father would have said I require a warning bell, rather than an introduction." She replied flirtatiously, walking past the bodyguard like she had already forgotten about him. Haruhi gave him sympathetic look before following her 'date'. She watched Midori stand with her weight on her hip, a small smile playing on full lips. The person who spoke earlier was a young man, with tousled bronze hair and brown eyes. He was tall and lean, his skin tone hinting at something more western than Japan.
"Well, your father was always a wise man." The young man replied, his handsome features lighting up when he looked at Midori.
She chuckled, "That he was, I just hope that I can live up to his memory."
"I think you already have." The man took a step forward that Midori mimicked, he reached forward and took her hand, kissing it gently. Haruhi raised an eyebrow at the weirdly old fashioned gesture but Midori seemed to have been expecting it.
"Sweet words, Christophe, as always. But I did not come here for sweet words, I came here for art. As did my lovely colleague." Midori turned away from Christophe and gestured to Haruhi who blinked in surprise at becoming the centre of attention.
"Fujioka Haruhi, an associate of mine from Ouran. Haruhi, this is the man behind this whole wonderful gallery, Christophe Markth."
Christophe gave Haruhi a curious look, no doubt thinking her simple dress was a little further away from high street than most who came to his gallery. He smiled brilliantly at her after a moment, stepping forward to take her hand in his.
"It's a pleasure, Miss Fujioka." He murmured against her hand as he planted a soft kiss on it.
"I, ahem. Sorry, the pleasure is all mine, Markth-san, you have a beautiful gallery, how many of these are your pieces?" Haruhi recovered quickly, thanking her hosting experience that allowed her to speak coherently in the situation she had found herself in.
"Why thank you, Miss Fujioka. A few of them, spaced throughout the gallery. I could show you if you like." He offered smoothly.
"A kind offer, Christophe but one I must insist we decline. I would hate to keep you from your other guests." Midori said with a sweet smile, "Besides, I fear if you spend too much time with Haruhi, you may steal her heart. And then who will I bring to things such as these?" Midori asked, hooking her arm with the other girl's.
Christophe chuckled, "Rest assured, Midori, Miss Fujioka is rather safe. It's not her heart I'm interested in."
Midori smirked, "Just be careful you don't take interest in a heart that has a line of people already looking for it." The ebony haired girl smiled at her brunette companion, "Shall we move along, Haruhi?" Haruhi glanced up at the taller girl and gave a quick nod. The two began to walk away, but not before Christophe called back a response,
"Shall I take that as a challenge?"
"Perhaps you should paint it as one." Midori replied, not looking back. In a lower voice she whispered to Haruhi,
"Let's move before that flirt gets it into his thick skull to follows us."
Haruhi frowned, "I thought you liked him."
"Just as I imagine your guests think Ootori Kyoya likes them, hmmm?" Midori said with a smirk. They slowed their pace as they came to a display of portraits. "People like Christophe, they are like your guests. They serve a purpose and are easy to speak to. But they don't surprise. Ever. And that makes them boring." Midori looked down to the plaque stating that Christophe was the artist of this particular artwork. She touched it gently with her fingers and scoffed a laugh. "Even the ones that paint."
"Do you even like the people you work with?" Haruhi asked. However she was denied an answer as a waiter walked up to them and offered Haruhi a glass filled with a light yellow liquid.
"Champagne?"
"Em, no, no thank you." Haruhi politely declined, trying to catch Midori's eye.
"And you Madam, champagne?" The waiter asked Midori. Midori smiled,
"No, thank you, I'm fi-" She paused, her green eyes narrowing at something across the room.
"Actually, I think I will have that glass of champagne, thank you." She said, taking the glass and draining it of half its liquids in one sip. When she lowered the drink the waiter took the look of barely controlled fury on her face to be a good sign that it was time to make himself scarce.
"Midori?" Haruhi questioned, the steely look in her date's eyes unmistakeable.
"It appears that a ghost from the past has decided to come back to haunt me. Delightful." Midori turned to Haruhi with a smile, "But it is nothing you of all people need to concern yourself with. Now, let's get back to our date shall we? Come, I require your help with choosing a painting for Chou, she is quite the artist. I promised her I would buy her a present today." Midori took her hand in hers and began to lead her in the opposite direction to whatever had shook her up earlier.
Haruhi's mouth opened and closed but she gave a stiff nod. "I, eh, sure." She glanced back over her shoulder as Midori led her away. She couldn't tell who Midori had been looking at, there was far too many figures moving about.
.
"My, my, what was that about?" Kyoya asked, as he, Amaya and the twins watched Midori practically drag Haruhi away from where she had previously been glaring.
"I don't know, but my guess is Midori-san saw someone she doesn't like very much." Amaya answered, peering over to the group. They comprised of four or five women, all dressed elegantly in different gowns. She knew at least two of them, the short, pixie like red head and the beautiful, tall woman with white blonde hair to be artists.
"Yeah, that much is obvious..." Hikaru said, rolling his eyes.
Kaoru nodded, "...The question is..."
"...Which one?" They finished together.
Amaya growled, "How am I supposed to know? Honestly, you people can't expect me to know every little-" She stopped as she caught one of the women, roughly in her thirties, glance darkly at Midori's retreating back. It was the tall blonde, the one with pale skin and gorgeous features. The nameless quickly looked back to her group, the glance was so quick that Amaya doubted anyone but her caught it.
"Damn it. I'm good." She said with a scowl.
