AN: Hey guys, it's me again. :)

I am terribly sorry for not updating sooner but my job and life in general got in the way. Please note that I did not give up on this story, I'll tell you if I do. But I will try to update more regulary from now on (I can promise nothing, though.) Thank you for reading this story and feel free to leave reviews and suggestions, I will read them all. I thought about the pairings and I would like to make this a Serena/Klaus, Blair/Kol and Katherine/Elijah story, though nothing is completely determined yet, feel free to suggest other pairings if you'd like. Again, please note that English is not my mother language and bear with any spelling and grammar mistakes.

Hope you like this chapter

Disclaimer: I sadly do not own Gossip Girl nor do I own TVD.

Serena tilted her head to the side while staring at all the people currently occupying the room. "Caroline, who are these guys? I think it is time for some introductions! My name is Serena, and this lovely girl next to me is my sister, Blair." Blair just said nothing, being preoccupied with her mobile phone. Serena's eyes scanned the room and found Matt. "Mattie!", she grinned brightly and promptly settled herself right next to him. "How's things? Heard you finally dumped that Helen girl?"

Matt just shook his head and glared at Caroline in return. Said girl cleared her throat. "Um, as I was saying… She'll be able to help us. She said she knows Klaus. In fact, I grew up with her ranting and raving about some asshole called Nick, I just never made the connection until recently. Maybe she will be able to call him off of our backs." The girl smiled awkwardly into the room and opened her mouth to explain a bit further, but Blairs hand on her shoulder stopped her.

"You should seriously stop spilling other peoples secrets. And don't go around telling stories you don't even know fully yet – its rude." Yep, Blair was definitely in one of her moods. Probably because she had to leave her big city behind to come to a small town. Or it was just her personality.

"No, it's okay." Came Serena's voice from where she had settled herself on the rug next to Matt's feet. "It's about time Caroline heard the whole story anyway. Why don't we just come clear now and start at the beginning?"

"You see, Blair is only my half-sister. We grew up here in Mystic Falls about a thousand years ago. Our father was a drunkard and sired her with one of his many mistresses he liked to keep. At first he begrudgingly tolerated her, although she was a child out of wedlock, but when he found out she was a witch he chased her out on the street where she was eventually found and adopted by the witch Ayana. While I got to stay at home with my mother, I didn't get to live happily, either. Father got more violent as time passed and one day I ran into the woods to hide. This is where I met Nicklaus the first time. Violent fathers were something we had in common, our kinship grew to friendship and eventually to love. At least for me."

She looked into the shocked faces of Caroline's friends with a slightly sad smile.

"I almost got him to court me, you know? Plotted and worked relentlessly until I had him at a point where he was willing to risk our friendship for something more. Even his mother seemed to like me, I got along with his siblings as well - but then she came along."

Her eyes seemed to burn with absolute hatred while she narrowed them in Elena's direction.

"Tatia." She made it sound like a desease. "The little harlot came along, made us all think she was a goody two shoes, even made me like her enough to think I should let Nick go so he could get happy with her! But then I saw it. I got along with Nicks siblings, I knew that. She seemed to get along with them, too. Splendidly. Especially with Elijah. They were oh so very close." Her venom filled voice got quiter when she recounted the following happenings. "I couldn't get her away with that. She didn't have any right to take my man away from me, and especially not when she didn't plan on keeping him! They were both just a plaything to her! I had to do something, and so I did. I told Esther. At this point in time, she had already planned on turning her children, although I didn't know that. By telling on Tatia I indirectly gave Esther exactly what she needed. A human to sacrifice."

By now Serena's eyes glanced at the wall without seeing it, she seemed to be completely entranced in her memories.

"Nicklaus came for me that night. Newly turned as he was, his emotions were running high. He came to revenge what he thought was his one true love, he didn't know about her playing him. He slaughtered my whole family, telling me if he didn't get to live with love, he would make sure I didn't get to, either. He bit me afterwards, turned me into his kind, doomed me to his fate, as he called it; to remember these moments forever, to never forget what I did. What he did. Devastated as I was I looked for every possible way to end my miserable existence. My love hated me with all he was, even killed my family, killed me. When I found out that I could not kill myself I went looking for Ayana. She gave me a stake from white oak, along with a choice. I could either kill myself and never find rest on the other side, or I could repent my sins and atone for my unnatural existence by helping to kill the vampires the Mikaelsons turned in ther bloodlust. I agreed, but she knew I couldn't have done it by myself so she talked Blair into getting turned. She selflessly agreed to help me on my quest and the spirits thanked her by letting her keep some of her powers even in death. Ayana also got the spirits to grant me more strengh so I would be able to keep the Originals in line."

Now it was Bonnies time to speak up. "What do you mean, to keep them in line? I thought the spirits wanted them gone? They are unnatural!"

But Serena only chuckled, looking into Bonnies brown orbs she replied amused: "However did you get that idea? Vampires came into existence by supernatural means, but that does not make them unnatural themselfes."
