Profound

Platinum blonde hair shined brilliantly against the illumination of the lamp light, soft bangs splaying gracefully across her face with each unconscious movement she made to position her body more comfortably in the bed. Beside her sleeping form sat her husband, his back sunk into the pillow propped behind him and a worn book held between his hands; his eyes skimming the paragraphs within its tattered pages.

Felix stopped in the midst of his reading to peek over at Calhoun. Her position had changed once again just moments ago as he was reading, but he had become increasingly engrossed with the book's thickening plot, and he hadn't gotten the opportunity to see which side she was laying on until he made it to the next chapter.

A warm smile found its way to the handyman's lips.

He would never know how he won the heart of such a miraculous woman like Calhoun.

Calhoun had decided to lie on her left side for the night, the front of her body facing Felix and her back turned to the window. She managed to snake an arm around his waist and slowly brought him close, muttering inaudible words as she buried her face into his side.

Placing a bookmark in the novel, Felix set it on the nightstand and carefully looped his arm around her midsection, sinking beneath the covers to bring himself to her level. With a sigh of content and a tiny yawn, he rested his head on hers and breathed in her heady scent.

Special, little moments were meant to be cherished. And Felix was more than happy to have such wonderful times to treasure for years to come.

So long as his lovely lady was there to share those moments with him, he couldn't imagine himself being any happier.

A little something I felt like getting off my chest. I've desperately needed to write something sweet. Now, if you excuse me, I think I'm going to give myself a high five.
