Clarissa
Clarissa was in the line to enter Pandemonium. Jonathan was behind her as they stood waiting only a few steps away from the entrance. They decided not to glamour themselves just to make sure they wouldn't attract attention of the New York shadowhunters. They didn't know her father was alive. Her brother was believed to be dead along with her mother. No one knew she exist. The line moved and they were quickly let in.
"Let's split up," said Jonathan.
"This isn't like one of those horror movies where we split up and some psychopath tries to kill us is it," she mentioned with a smirk on her face. He obviously didn't think it was funny because he just stared blankly at his little sister.
Then with a smirk on his face he said, "Sister, the only psychopath here is me. Now go make sure those shadowhunters don't interrupt me and don't you dare go looking for that demon. I've seen what it's done to girls your age."
"I'm not as naive as you think," she told him as he started to walk away. For a second Clarissa thought he hadn't been listening but it wasn't like she was going to listen either.
"Clarissa, do try not to kill the Eidolon," he said. Okay so he knew what she was going to do.
That seemed simple enough. All Clarissa needed was to find a blue haired demon boy. That wasn't hard to find in a crowd of mundanes. She scanned the crowd and noticed that a lot of mundanes fit in that category. Then in the corner of her eyes she noticed a blue haired boy staring at a girl with some familiar looking runes. Bingo. Clarissa wouldn't be able to find Jonathan in time so she went ahead to question it herself. When she caught up to it she didn't need to introduce myself.
"Well if it isn't Valentine's daughter?"
"I have a name you know," she told the demon.
"Clarissa Adele Morgenstern, I have to say you look nothing like your father or brother." He circled me but I didn't take my eyes off him. "You're so short. I like the green eyes with freckles. Your hair is so red. You look just like your mother."
"I didn't come here to talk about my looks. I came for information," she replied toneless.
"And what information might that be," he asked.
"I need to know the whereabouts of Jocelyn Fairchild. A possible alias is Jocelyn Fray."
"I might know where she currently resides." Demons gossiped more than any suburban housewife.
"And where might that be?"
He wasn't staring at Clarissa anymore but behind her. He seemed mesmerized. When she turned around to look there was a tall girl in a white dress (the same one he was previously staring at) trying to get him to go with her. She was gorgeous. By the time Clarissa turned back the demon was already walking past her. The mysterious shadowhunter led him to a storage room.
Walking behind them were two boys about the girls age, maybe even a bit older. One of them had jet black hair with sea blue eyes. He looked like just like the girl in the white dress except the girl had dark eyes, almost black. They could have been twins if her face were as mature as his. The other boy had golden blond. To go with his long locks were a pair of golden eyes. He reminded Clarissa of a lion. What caught her attention was that they were in shadowhunter gear and runes covered their arms. They're going to kill my demon, she thought to herself. She might have even said it out loud without noticing.
She ran to catch up to them. On her way to the door she bumped into Jonathan, bouncing off his chest and onto the ground. She saw his arm reach out to pull her up.
"What happened," he asked in fury.
"Some shadowhunters lured the Eidolon into the storage room and they are ready to kill," I replied fearing what he would do next.
"You need to fix this Clarissa. They can't know I'm alive," he pointed at the door they went through then continued, "Just get the information and leave." Jonathan nodded at the door.
Clarissa put on a brave face and walked to the door. It took her a while to open it but when she did she heard their conversation.
"Valentine is back! All the Infernal Worlds know it –I know it –I can tell you where he is." That bastard is going to rat him out.
"By the Angel, every time we capture one of you bastards you claim you know where Valentine is. Well, we know where he is too." Clarissa took a few steps forward to hear better.
"Except you don't know where he is. You all think he's dead but he is very much alive," Clarissa said with confidence. With every word she said the closer she was to plunging to the ground.
"And who might you be?" asked the boy with blue eyes.
"Clarissa Adele Morgenstern and I think you can guess the rest." Clarissa said the last part staring at the blonde one watching his eyes watch over her horrified by this realization.
Jace
"Morgenstern," Isabelle repeated looking from Alec to me. She wasn't buying it and neither was Jace. This girl with carrot red hair and green eyes was crazy. She also looked crazy. Clarissa looked about fourteen but her eyes yelled murder instead obsession over current pop star.
"Look shadowhunters, I don't have time for your arguments about whether my father is alive or not, I came for that," said the girl, Clarissa, as she pointed at the demon.
"No way," yelled Alec like a child having a tantrum, "We were here first".
Clarissa rolled her eyes and got closer to the demon but staying in a safe distance. "Where is she," she said calmly.
"What's the point I'm going to die either way," it said.
"Tell me now and I'll do it fast," she said pulling out her seraph blade. So she definitely a shadowhunter but that didn't cross out crazy.
"No," it exclaimed. And without hesitation Clarissa tossed her blade and it hit directly in it's heart. That was amazing.
She got her blade started walking away. Before she could leave Jace grabbed her arm to stop her. They seemed so small and fragile like if he held it any tighter she would break into a million pieces. His fingertips touched as his hand looped around Clarissa's thin arm. She tugged her arm away, making a small tear on her sleeve, and made a quick escape.
Jace turned around and Isabelle and Alec were in the same utter disbelief as he was. He was too stunned to go after her.
"By the angel how many more crazies are we going to come across until this Morgenstern rumor goes away," said Isabelle.
"C'mon lets go report back to Hodge," Jace suggested.
"Seeing as I'm not one for clubs I second that," Alec replied. One by one they exited the storage room and silently walked out of Pandemonium. Jace still couldn't believe what he saw, a girl that tiny was that strong. She was even able to resist his firm grasp on her.
School really sucks and that's my excuse I guess I will try to post more often.
