Chapter 5: Songs, battles and humor galore! (Sanctuary of water and ice.)

We landed onto the grassy area of the circle.

The king teensie walked over to us.

"So, find any useful information about the minisaurus?" I asked.

"Not really, no."

"Seriously, nothing?"

He shook his head.

He then looked to Rayman.

"Since you've now freed Bizzit you can now go to the lost island.

Go ahead and meet him at the pier." The teensie king stated waving us away in a shooey manner. We both nodded and with that, ran down the path and went out of the forest area.

"Hey, while you're at it why don't we collect some lumz around here?" I said to him.

"That sounds like a good idea. Do you know where any are?" He asked me.

"Yeah, there's some in the water if you go to the start of the water coming down the um...little waterfall over there then swim underneath it you should find three or so of them there." I told him pointing it out.

"Alright." He said with a nod. He jumped into the shallow water and ran over to the small waterfall. (Like really small water fall.) Then went head down into the water and must have collected the lumz. After a minute, his head poked out of the water as he took a big breath in.

"Got them?"

"Yes."

"Okay then, well...there's more around here...Don't remember exactly where though..." I said looking around a bit in case I spotted one.

"Well, we should get going to the lost island now then." Rayman concluded.

We walked along the road, over the bridge. I suddenly heard heavy, metal footsteps nearby.

My eyes widened. Oh no. It had been so long yet it had somehow been triggered!

I found my voice after a minute and started to speak:

"R...R-Rayman?" I said. He noticed the fear in my voice and stopped walking and turned around.

"What is it?" He asked.

"No no no no no! This isn't happening!" I said not shouting in case...it heard.

"What's wrong?" He asked in worry.

I couldn't exactly tell him. I would just confuse him really. But...Somehow we had activated...

The glitch...

"There's a...robo-pirate...in the area." I said.

The worry in his expression instantly left his face.

"Don't worry about that, I can take care of it!" He said.

I knew he could take care of it...but could he take care of it...

Forever?

He ran ahead, listening for the footsteps so he could defeat the robo-pirate. I slowly walked behind him in fear.

I saw him up ahead, face to face with luckily only a purple robo-pirate in the entrance to the Bayou.

Of course people would think this normal, yes? But there's only supposed to be a robo-pirate there when we go there later on to get Clark the Exiler in the cave of bad dreams. He had a quick battle with it and after only 2 or so minutes had reduced the robo-pirate to a pile of scrap metal. He ran back over to me. (I was on the path between the bridge and the path directly under the bridge, leading to the fairy glade.)

"See, nothing to worry about." He said.

I heard yet another set of metal steps. I started shivering harshly.

"Sarah, look the robo-pirate's gone. Nothing to worry about." He said.

The footsteps got louder. He frowned.

"I'll just take care of this." He said walking along the path to now be face to face with a green robo-pirate in the path under the bridge to the fairy glade.

Another battle was dealt with. I walked up to him slowly.

"I uh...guess this is called the front for a reason." Rayman said.

More foot steps were heard and another green robo-pirate came out. And with it yet another battle.

"This is seriously starting to get weird though..." He said looking around to see if any more robo-pirates would just come out of no where. Now a purple robo-pirate, in the same area came out.

"This is really, really creepy." He concluded. "But I'm sure they will eventually stop coming." He said.

I shook my head but he didn't notice. There were at least five more battles.

"Please...this...I can't take this anymore...let's run..." I said desperately. He was silent for a minute.

"Okay." He said slowly.

I tried to move but felt like I couldn't move. I was still shaking furiously. He grabbed my hand.

"Hu?" I whispered under my breath. I stopped shaking and seemed to snap out of it. We started to run. We ran all the way to the beach and ran down the rocky path. Jumping onto the beach's soft sand and jumping up onto the bridge and lastly running to Bizzit and the mini boat.

"Jump on the boat and I'll take you to the lost island." Bizzit said.

"Yes, I know." I said quickly going into the boat as he did the same. With that Bizzit started to push the boat fast making white waves behind us like a speed boat.

After a while I started to relax again. I looked out across the water as my hair flapped in the wind. It was quite peaceful. Rayman then finally after a few minutes, started to talk:

"What was Murfy exactly talking about when he was wondering why Globox wasn't with me...? Now that I think about it you also mentioned about how someone was going to come help us out and you said it with so much confidence and certainty. Like you knew there was someone going to come. Was Globox going to come help me out?" Rayman asked me.

I bit my lip, not answering. Who knows what could have happened to Globox. Come to think of it...if I wasn't here at all then Globox would've come and help Rayman escape like usual. I don't want to think of what has happened instead to him. "Yes...he was." I answered quietly. What if something happens to Globox that ends up affecting everyone else in a bad way? That it's all my fault that everything went wrong. The guilt was really building up in me. "Where do you think he is then? Do you think he's in danger?" Rayman asked for my own opinion, also guessing that I may know. But...

I didn't know.

"I don't know." I replied quietly. I had a feeling he could sense my guilt. He did the kind act of remaining silent. I didn't really want to talk about it anyway. I looked back to the ocean and saw a small patch of land up ahead grow bigger and bigger.

Bizzit parked the boat at a bridge leading onto the island. We stepped off the boat and I thanked Bizzit.

Bizzit then pushed the boat in the direction of the minisaurus plains.

We walked across the bridge.

The island was covered with palm trees and sand. A step ramp led up to a hole, the inside the hole was a cave.

After a minute or so of silence Rayman started to speak, well whisper.

"It's quiet..." His eyes narrowed. "Too quiet..."

Already knowing what was about to happen, I simply nodded in agreement.

We both stepped onto the island.

Only a second afterwards, robo-pirates digged themselves out of the ground.

Two purple and a yellow.

Rayman's hands instantly lit up with energy as he threw them at his opponents.

After, not a very long battle they were turned into scrap metal.

He then ran onto the ramp, and ran up it.

I ran after him.

"Wait!" I called out, wanting to warn him about the next robo-pirate.

I finally caught up to him just as he was about to enter into the cave. I grabbed his hand and pulled him back slightly, so nothing could spot him at the holes entrance.

"There's a yellow pirate at the entrance of the cave. Since the entrance to the cave is so narrow, it means that you will just get hit by the flames that come from it's gun and get hurt." I explained.

"So there's no avoiding it?"

"Not necessarily. Look, just stay at the corner of the hole and the robo-pirate won't be able to hit you with flames! Then you can attack it with your magic orbs without getting hurt!" I said.

He did just that and came out with no injuries. After also defeating the purple robo-pirate which was inside the cave we entered it.

A lake was below us. "You should go down there, there's a cage and few lumz down there to collect/free." I told him pointing down. "What about you?" He asked. "I'm not going down there! It's not like I have to go down anyways." I told him.

"Oh come on, it's just a little water!"

"You know I don't like diving."

"True." He said slowly smiling wide. He walked behind me.

"And what do you think you're doin- WAH!" I shouted falling into the water. I quickly kicked my feet and resurface. "Hey, you pushed me!" I shouted annoyed.

"It's okay if you don't want to dive, I understand that but you should at least get wet if I get wet." Rayman said smiling a wide, cheeky smile. I grabbed his hand, his eyes widened as I pulled him into the water with force. SPLASH!

"Ha ha ha!" I laughed. He resurfaced.

"You think that's funny don't you!?" He asked slightly annoyed but still smiling.

"Yeah, I do, especially the face you made!" I said laughing. He started to laugh also.

Afterwards...

"I better get going then." He said taking in a big breath and diving into the water down below. I swam to an area of land with a lantern and some rigging to climb out of the cave, and sat down on a box, waiting for him to appear again.

After a few minutes time he appeared once again out of the water, taking in a deep breath he slowly swam over to the surface and lifted himself onto the land.

"Find them?" I asked while still sitting on the box, looking at him.

He turned and saw me.

"Yeah." He said still taking in deep breaths.

"Good." I said with a slight smile. After a few minutes of resting we climbed up the rigging and saw light come into area of the cave. It was a golden shimmering sun, feeling rather warm and nice. It was rather warm compared to my STILL wet clothes.

We came out of the cave type area and were now outside. We ran up a small staircase. There was a small type balcony to look out from. I stepped onto it and put my hands on the railing, looking out to the sea. It was rather peaceful. I noticed a yellow light below me and looked down to see a yellow lum below me. Below the railing. Rayman couldn't simply reach it from leaning from the rail without falling off though.

"Hey, Rayman." I said.

"Yeah? What is it this time?" He asked behind me.

"There's a yellow lum down here, can you get it?" I asked.

I moved out of the way so he could go onto the mini balcony and look down to see.

"No, not without falling into the piranha filled water way down below us." Rayman said.

I looked up at him, hopeful.

"No! Look, If you were me than would you do it? Go all the way down there WITH PIRANHAS IN THE WATER!?" He said. He made a lot of sense.

No, of course I wouldn't go. But of course I wasn't him was I. He was different from me.

"If you want to repair the heart so everything is back to normal once the robo-pirates have left then you should get it. Also, you can easily reappear back from where you last got a green lum, which to mention wasn't that long ago! If I went down there it would be sudden doom for me." I said.

He frowned deeply. Then sighed.

"This is still going to hurt..." He said quietly. He climbed onto the rail and stood up. He looked down at the water and gulped. I have a feeling that he either doesn't like heights or piranhas. Maybe it's because he doesn't want to get hurt. He's not afraid of water at least. It's funny because when I think about it, I'm scared of water and heights...

Oh and 's (Of course.) So...I don't think I will be doing that anytime soon. (Most likely not at all!) He was still staying in the same position for a minute or two.

"Are you jumping or do I have to push you?" I asked.

"No, I can jump. Or fall." He muttered more quietly the last sentence.

He took a deep breath and with his hands way out to the side, he leaned forward and fell. I ran over to the balcony and looked over the railing to see he had already collected the lum and was now falling to the water. I looked away just as I heard a big SPLASH! That was not going to be nice...I thought to myself.

A few seconds later I heard footsteps and saw him behind me.

"You okay?" I asked him.

"Fine, that did hurt a lot though. Well, we should get moving." He said, eyeing up the room nearby and walking into it. I followed behind.

He walked a room. A cannon and a door directly in front of the cannon was all that was in this tiny room. Rayman saw that the cannon had a slight spark on where a fuse needed to be lit for the cannon to be powered up to blow up the door. He shot an orb to see if this would work to light the fuse. It simply hit the fuse and did nothing. He frowned at this.

"You can't do anything about that at the moment." I told him.

He frowned at that. "So many things I can't do yet..." He said quietly to himself. (I managed to hear him though.) We exited the room and saw a green robo-pirate sleeping at the bottom of a small staircase. (We were standing at the top of the carpeted staircase.)

Rayman looked at me and smirked. One shot and the pirate was gone. No battle. It was that easy! I smiled cheekily back and watched him shoot a sliver orb towards the green robo-pirate. It instantly broke into pieces. We ran down the staircase. I saw something up ahead and suddenly stopped. The staircase was so thin that Rayman had to run behind me. Because of this he collided into me.

"Ahh!" I looked behind to see him on the ground, behind me.

"Oh...opps!" I whispered giggling. I put my hand towards him as he grabbed mine and stood up. "So...what's the excuse this time?" He asked as if this has happened before. (Even though it hasn't!) "There's three robo-pirates over there, two purples and a yellow one. If I hadn't stopped then we would've been close enough for them to notice/sense us. And then you would've had to get into the fight straight away." I answered him.

"Alright then. I will accept this excuse this time." Rayman answered. He was teasing. Of course I wasn't just making up a random excuse! I stepped off the staircase as he stepped off it after me. Standing beside it. "Well, what do ya know! There really is one yellow and two purple robo-pirates over there!" Rayman teased again even though of course he knew that already.

"Oh you.." I said shaking my head seriously, but then bursting out laughing at the silliness.

"Battle time." He said running forward and shooting a sliver orb towards the yellow robo-pirate.

It was only a matter of time till the robo-pirates were defeated. I then walked over to the robo-pirate sign to see if the text was still the same. I heard footsteps behind me.

"Ow!"

"Watch your step." I said, reading the sign. I already knew what had happened to him!

It said:

If anyone has any information about that female being that's with Rayman, let the admiral know as soon as possible. Free dumping for whoever can do so.

A sign. About me?

They know about me...

This is not good.

I looked over to see Rayman standing beside me, a hand on his chin.

"I wonder why the want to know about you..." He said.

"Who knows, really. Maybe it's to see if I'm much of a threat or not...?" I suggested.

"Maybe."

We came across a wooden ramp. It lead to another door sealed with a band aid only to be broken by a robo-pirate bomb. I turned right from the door continuing on the wooden ramp then after a few steps turned left. Now I went straight and right next to me was a robo-pirate bomb device that put out their bombs. Rayman was right beside me so saw the bombs and picked one up, balancing it on his back. He then walked slowly towards the door and threw it at it a meter away from it to make sure he wasn't in the blast. The door burst open from the explosion and turned into little pieces of wood. He ran in. "What happened to the saying ladies first!" I asked running behind him through the narrow corridor.

"Never heard that saying before." He said. Was he just being cheeky or did he not know it? It doesn't really matter anyways, I guess. We made it to the end of the corridor and found a small red carpeted staircase leading up to a glowing golden sphere. "Woah." Rayman said quietly, slowly walking up the staircase. He touched the orb quickly. It didn't hurt him of course so he put his hand on the orb for five or so seconds. I heard something flying. I looked up as well as Rayman to see Murfy, yet again.

"This sphere here, is a magic sphere." Murfy said.

"Good noticing Sherlock." I commented. Murfy gave me a confused look.

"Who's Sherlock?" He asked.

"Oh, It doesn't really matter." I answered seeing as of course they have no idea what I'm talking about.

"Where was I? Oh yes, there is a golden pillar outside. If you put the golden sphere on the golden pillar and do the same with the sliver ones then the magic door will open! If you loose the sphere, go back to where you last held it and it will be there. See ya next time." Murfy finished before flying away.

"Finally." I commented.

"What exactly do you have against Murfy anyways? He can be a bit annoying at times but he isn't that bad. Also, he is here to help." Rayman said.

I was surprised by this. Rayman standing up for Murfy! Well, Murfy is more of a jerk in Rayman 3. I guess he isn't too bad in this one.

"I...I don't think he's too keen on me, personally. Also, you really don't know how bad Murfy could probably get." I told him. Of course I could also explain everything to you instead of that flying greenbottle popping up randomly all the time. I thought to myself but thought better not to say out loud. Rayman picked up the sphere..

"Okay, if you don't like him than you don't like him. But don't be too mean to him or anything." He said.

"Okay." I agreed. He gave me a small smile.

Then the music started to play.

Rayman slowly walked down the steps, the weight on his back and walked across the now seemly long corridor. I patiently waited and slowly walked behind him. The music started to get to the 'main theme' bit and I couldn't help but sing a random silly song I had made up one time I was listening to the music. "And I said: do do do do do do do do

And he said: do do do do do do do do and she said: do do do do do do do do and we said: do do do do do do do do." Then the music went back to the 'verse' and I went quiet. Rayman stopped for a second looked behind, giving me an quizzical look before shaking his head slightly looking forward again and walking. We made it outside again and he threw the sphere towards the same colored pillar. The sphere landed and both the sphere and pillar sparkled. "I really do wonder how this is going to make the door open." He said.

"Just wait and see what happens." I said. We did the same process and were now in front of the sliver sphere. "Don't worry I can do it." I said. I put my hands under the sphere and picked it up slowly. Gosh this is heavy! How does he even carry this!? I slowly placed it on my back. My back burned in pain. I leaned forward but the weight was too strong and I collapsed onto my front. "I suggest that I take the sphere." Rayman said picking it up off my back and placing it on his own. I simply nodded in agreement, picked myself up and dusted myself off. We started again on the long trip out of the corridor and into the outside area. The chorus came on again.

"And I said: do do do do do do do do. And he said:" I pointed at Rayman. The music suddenly stopped as he stared at me confused. "Do do do do do do do do?" He slowly sang as the music came on again. "And she said: do do do do do do do do. Together now!" I said as the last bit of the chorus came on: "And we said: do do do do do do do do!" We sang. Rayman was more cheery and louder like me this time he sang it. We made it outside once again and he threw the sphere towards the pillar. The sphere and pillar sparkled like the other and then there was shaking. The huge door started to slowly move downwards and leaved a wide gap for us to enter. We entered into the cave type area. We were now facing a small hole up ahead that looked like a star type space looking portal type thing. The chorus came on once again. "And I said: do do do do do do do do. And he said:"

"Do do do do do do do do. And she said:"

"do do do do do do do do."

"And we said: do do do do do do do do." We sang together.

"Highfive!" Rayman shouted. I lifted my hand up as he did the same and we highfived, big smiles on our faces. We then turned back towards the portal hole thing. We both slowly walked towards it, letting it consume us. I felt a tingle throughout my body as we went into the magic temple area.

We were now in the temple. On a platform with a slope connected to it going down, leading to the Guardian and the mask. I walked over to the edge of the platform and looked down. There was nothing but black around us. I shuddered. I have never been good with heights and I know that it's a LONG way down. I walked back towards the center of the platform where Rayman was. Murfy appeared yet again to give out instructions.

"This here, is a very slippery slope." Murfy said.

"Well yeah, duh! We know that!" I said rolling my eyes. That was so obvious!

Rayman glared at me. I felt that glare pierce right into me as I looked down. He was not keen on me being like this, I could definitely tell.

"Be careful about turning sideways because if you go to much sideways then you will loose control!

Another note here, is that you can't use your helicopter while sliding!" Murfy stated.

Rayman nodded.

"Thanks for the advice!"

Murfy nodded and flew off. Rayman then turned to me and frowned again.

"Come on, Sarah! We already talked about this!" He said sighing.

"But he doesn't even have to come! I could just-" I mumbled then stopped saying.

I'm so glad I didn't say that! That would just arose more suspicion.

"Just...?" Rayman asked looking at my face even though I was facing downwards.

"It's...nothing." I said quietly.

After a minute or two I looked up to see him looking at the slope.

Rayman looked up at me again.

"You coming?

Because I...I can't really just leave you here." He said.

"Yep." I said with a nod.

He ran onto the slope and started sliding down. I took in a big breath and ran onto the slope also.

"Ah!" I shouted as I started to slide down the slope rather quickly. There was a gap up ahead. I had to jump to the other platform. I gulped as I was nearing the end of the platform.

Here we go...

I kneeled down and jumped as high as I could. The speed I was going down the slope seemed to help with the jump in a big way. I soared into the air for at least three seconds before landing onto the next slope.

"Woah!" I said almost losing my balance on the slope. I held me arms out like a surfer to regain my balance again. I smiled wide as I felt wind from seemingly nowhere hit my face in a wave of cool air. I saw Rayman up ahead of me, jumping onto the next platform. I wasn't too far behind him. Man, I haven't experienced such fun while being active in a LONG time! It really is fun! Adrenaline running fast and excitement! I jumped to the next slope and after a few more minutes jumped one last time (BIG jump.) Onto a huge platform that wasn't slippery. Rayman was right beside me, smiling wide. I looked up and my own smile turned onto a look of horror.

The Guardian was right above us...

He was so HUMONGOUS in person.

Rayman saw my expression and looked to the see the Guardian also.

The Guardian looked as mad as ever and floated backwards.

I looked up to see the purple lumz.

"Rayman, Rayman!" I said shaking him to grab his attention because he was dodging the sharp ice crystals at the time.

"What is it!?" He asked facing me. He was obviously busy at the time and a bit hacked off.

He was breathing in deeply now to regain his breath from all the dodging he'd had to do for at least three minutes now.

"See that big ice spike up there?" I said pointing it out.

He nodded.

"Grab the purple lumz up to it and then do what you think is the right thing to do!" I said.

With that, he ran over to the center of our platform and shot out a sliver orb towards the lum. It grabbed and he started swinging back and forth.

I turned my attention to an ice shard no less then a meter away from me and quickly sidestepped from it. That was close...I thought. The guradian saw Rayman going across the lumz and threw a shard of ice at him. Making a direct hit, Rayman cried as his hands were hurt. He had to let go of the orb connecting to the lum and landed on the ground, blowing on his hands.

I ran over to him.

"You okay?" I asked him, looking at his hands.

"Man! Not only do these ice shards hurt badly they're also freezing!" He said breathing onto his hands to get them warmer.

"Try and go on the lumz again. I'll try to distract the Guardian." I said.

He nodded and ran over to the center of the platform again.

He looked towards me, waiting.

I scanned the area with my eyes. My eyes spotted a large stone. A smirk spread across my face. I jogged over to the stone and picked it up, throwing and catching it in my palm.

I then walked a few steps forward, now being near the end of the platform. I threw the stone at the Guradian. (Who was facing Rayman and throwing ice shards at. Rayman was avioding them at the center of the platform.)

"Hey you!" I shouted as loud as I could. My voice boomed and eoughed across the area. The guardian turned around, scowling at me.

"You think you're such a great guardian don't you!" I shouted picking up another stone.

"But your truly not! You can't even hit me!" I shouted throwing another stone at it. I winked towards Rayman and saw him shoot a sliver orb and swing on the first purple lum. I quickly looked back to the Guardian.

"Go on! Hit me!" I shouted, arms out wide.

The Guardian amassed a big ice shard and threw it towards me. Just as the ice was coming towards me I saw Rayman on the last purple lum out of the corner of my eye. He let go of the lum and shot a sliver orb at the huge ice spike just above the Guardians head. The spike fell upon the Guardian as it shouted out in defeat, slowly fading away into nothingness.

I looked back to the front of me to see the ice shard a meter away, going at an incredibly fast speed. I rolled a long way to the side. I was already near the edge of the platform so I rolled right off the edge. I just managed to grab one hand onto the platform's edge and hang on for dear life!

"Rayman!"

I saw him above me in mere seconds.

"Daja vu all over again!" He said kneeling down and held out his hand.

I grabbed onto it and he lifted me up. I sat back down on the platform and breathed in and out, calming myself.

"You okay?" He asked standing up after about five minutes.

"Yeah." I replied, standing up and dusting myself off.

I walked over to the center of the platform and stared up at the purple lumz.

"How am I supposed to g- "

"Grab my hand."

"What?"

"Trust me, just grab it." Rayman said.

"Okay.."

I grabbed his hand and held it tightly.

He then shot an orb towards the first purple lum.

We both got lifted up into the air, swinging back and forth on the lum.

"Woah!" I said looking below me.

"Don't look down if you're not keen on heights!" He warned.

He then let go of the orb and grabbed onto the next one.

After at least three more purple lumz we were on the platform above. A waterfall came down from top of the wall. There were two ramps surrounding the waterfall, which was in between two walls. Rayman collected the lumz by going up the ramps and then ran back down next to me.

Standing in front of the waterfall.

I slowly took a step forward. One step after the other as I walked towards the waterfall.

I then walked right through it and into the room with the mask. Rayman was just beside me, slowly walking towards the mask. I felt my heart beating rapidly in my chest. We were...

We were going to meet Polokus.

The creator of the glade of dreams.

We had finally reached the top of the ramp and were now in front of a pillar.

It glowed with light, as the mask of water and ice came out of the pillar

Rayman grabbed ahold of my hand and slowly reached out his other hand, grabbing onto the mask.

With a quite tingly feeling, we both were teleported somewhere else.

To the dream land.

We arrived there in a matter of seconds. Rayman walked to Polokus, mask in hand.

"Ah, it seems you have found my first mask." Polokus pointed out.

"I am Polokus, the creator of the world. At the moment I am powerless, but with the power of the fourth mask reunited to me I will be as strong as I used to be. And I will be able to help you defeat the pirates." He said whilst Rayman gave him the mask.

He then placed it down onto one of the four sides of the pillar he was sitting on.

It twisted and turned slightly and it flashed gold for a second, indicating that the power had been transferred over. Polokus then noticed me in the background.

"And who is this?" Polokus asked me. But Rayman answered for me:

"Oh, this is Sarah, she says that she's a human being but that doesn't really explain much about her. I don't know if they're magical beings or not."

"She comes from a long way away, this I know. It seems she does have a magic power, but I have no idea what that may be. And, oddly enough, she seems to know a lot about you, Rayman." He said.

I stared wide eyed at him.

Could he like, read my mind or something!?

"Wait, I thought you only knew stuff about the enemy bases and the enemies?" Rayman said.

I looked down at the ground, staring at me feet. I just knew he was staring at me.

"She will follow you on your adventure and when it is over, the world being at peace and my powers being restored, she can visit me again and I will transport her back to her own world." Polokus said.

"Plus, this will be a great learning experience, for the both of you. You can also help each other out when needed."

And with that he ushered me forward. I walked over to Rayman and Polokus summoned a portal out of the little magic he now had.

"Be careful. The whole worlds destiny is in your hands."

Was the last thing I heard before we were transported back to the minisaurus plains.
