Under the bed

Jack Overland was sitting in a chair near the fire. Jack enjoyed the warmth coming from fire off, until he heard a door opening. "Jack?" said a voice.

Jack turned around to see his sister standing in the doorway with a scared look on her face. "Emma." He said as he walked towards her. "Why are you awake?"

"Jack, I'm scared." said Emma frightened.

"Scared? From who?"

"The Boogeyman. He's under my bed."

Jack sighed and smiled as he waved to his sister to come over. Emma walked over her brother and sat down on his lap. "Is he the one who gives you the bad dreams for the last two day?"

Emma nodded as she held her teddy closer to her. "Well, let's scare him away then." smiled Jack.

"How?"

"With some light and the help of Jack Frost."

"Who's Jack Frost?"

"What do you mean who is Jack Frost?! He's the spirit of winter! He's the one who brings us snow every December and freezes the lake."

"But how can he help us with the Boogeyman?"

"I've heard he doesn't like the Boogeyman either because he turns his ice into black statues. Once we get the Boogeyman out of the house, Jack Frost will take care of him."

"Okay." Emma said unsure.

"Now, let's get some lanterns and chase that bad man away."

Emma went off Jack's lap as he stood up to get two lanterns. When they were lighted, Jack and Emma went to Emma's room.

Jack peeked in Emma's room, seeing nothing but darkness in the room. "I think he's waiting under the bed." whispered Jack. "Now, we will storm the room in after three and yell go away Boogeyman. Ready?"

Emma nodded. "Okay. One, two…Three!" yelled Jack as he and Emma stormed the room in, yelling.

"Go away Boogeyman!" both of them yelled, shining the light in the room.

"Quick, I've seen him going in the closet!" Jack yelled as he was shining the lantern under the bed. Emma obeyed and opened the closet.

"He's running!" Jack yelled as he and Emma ran out of the room, into his mother's room. "Be gone!"

"He's under the bed." Emma said.

"Good. Emma I want you to open the window so I can chase him outside. Then Jack Frost will take care of the rest."

Emma nodded and opened the window. "Leave this house, Boogeyman!" Jack yelled as he shine his lantern under the bed and then ran towards the window. "Close it!"

Emma immediately closed the window and looked at her brother. "Well done, Emma." Jack grinned, hugging his sister.

"Thanks, Jack." Emma said.

"Hey look."

Emma looked up and saw snow was coming down from the sky. "Looks like Jack Frost has chased the Boogeyman away." said jack.

"How do you know?"

"Because he's using his snow to make a shield for the Boogeyman."

Emma smiled sleepy before yawing. Jack looked down at his little sister. "Come on, let's go to bed. Before the sandman gets angry."

Jack picked his sister up, carrying her to Emma's room. "There you go." said Jack, tugging his little sister in.

Emma smiled. "Thanks Jack."

"For what?"

"Scaring the Boogeyman away."

Jack smiled and ruffled her hair. "You're welcome. Now, go to sleep." Jack stood up, picking up the lantern and walked to the door.

"Jack?"

"Mmm?"

"Could you leave it here for a while? Until I'm asleep?"

"Sure." Jack smiled, setting the lantern down on a table. Jack looked once more at Emma, before leaving the room and whisper "Goodnight, Emma."

"Goodnight, Jack."

oOoOoOo

I never thought I would write this down today. The part of Jack Frost is inspired by a fic who I just can't remember the name of it. The fic was about how Tooth became the tooth fairy. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this one shot and my first time fic of ROTG. I do apologize for the grammars as it has been a year since I have written a fic again.

Now back to work!
