Sakura finished her hospital shift close to three in the morning, and she was exhausted. The shift had been fairly boring until the seventh hour when an injured ANBU team had been rushed in. She had worked on the team for six hours and had been able to save three out of the four men, the fourth one had been too far gone by the time they had reached the hospital and there had been nothing she could do but make him comfortable for those last few minutes. It was one of the hardest parts of her job, but it was also the reality of things, she couldn't save everyone. She had then attempted paperwork for about an hour, only getting two pages into her report before she had decided that she as too tired, too sore and too hungry to do anymore. So she had stuffed the papers into her bag and saved them for the next day.

Konoha was in the dead of night when she stepped out into the very early morning air; it was pitch black, quiet, and as peaceful as Konoha could get. Covering a yawn with her hand she hoisted her bag higher on to her shoulder and began walking home. Despite being tired Sakura took in the sights of Konoha, taking comfort in the familiar setting of things. Konoha was home for her, it and her people were the reason she put her life on the line with every mission she took.

Deciding that she was simply ready to be home, Sakura picked up her pace. Entering quietly through the door, Sakura left both her shoes and her paperwork filled bag in the entry way, before creeping quietly up the stairs and into their bedroom. Standing in the doorway for a moment she stared at the lump under the covers and smiled. It was hard to believe that they had already been together for two years, that it had been two years since she had allowed herself to love again. Smiling she slipped into the bathroom to take a quick shower.

Shikkaku smiled as he heard the shower come on, she was home. Rolling to his other side he stared at the picture on his nightstand; it was of the two of them, on their wedding day, and she was smiling the smile that said she had no cares in the world. It was a carefree moment captured for him to stare at for the rest of his life. It was hard to believe that it had been six months since their wedding. The shower cutting off brought him out of his thoughts and he feigned sleep once again. He listened as Sakura slipped out of the bathroom and walked towards the bed. A moment later he felt the bed dip as she slipped in, and then she was cuddling against his back.

They both pretended he was asleep for a few more moments before Sakura said "My side of the bed is warm."

"Hmm"

"I don't like the sheets warm Shikkaku, I already feel like a human incubator, I don't need warm sheets too."

Shikkaku rolled over to face her "I missed you," he placed a hand on her protruding stomach "Both of you." Sakura laughed. At six months pregnant Sakura was running on hot 90% of the time. Leaning forward Shikkaku kissed her "Plus it's lonely in bed without you."

"Yes well tonight was officially your last lonely night. Tsunade wants me in an administrative and clinic only role from now until the baby is born. She doesn't want me tiring myself out with six hour surgeries. So I should be home by five every night."

"Our wise Hokage."

Sakura laughed again before snuggling into his side, as sleep slowly took her over. Wrapping his arms around her, Shikkaku pressed a kiss to his wife's head. His Deer Pink Hellion had been more than worth the fight, and he would make sure that she would always be loved.

So this is the last chapter for this story. It's been a wild ride and I'm really happy that I got to explore this pairing. I like writing unusual Sakura pairings and I hope to do more stories like this. Please leave a review and let me know what you think. Thanks for reading!
