The three sit in the boat. Katara stares down into the water, and she attempts to pull at the water. Zuko looks back and watches the water lift.

"You're a waterbender." He exclaims. Katara blushes, but shrugs.

"So what?"

"I though there weren't any water benders left in the south pole."

"I'm the last one." She says solemnly. Zuko turns forward again, guilt fills his eyes. They land at the south pole and Sokka thanks Zuko for the ride.

"Hey Zuko", Sokka calls, and Zuko turns.

"Yeah"

"You're fire nation, aren't you."

"That doesn't seem like a question." Zuko replies.

"It's not"

"I am, and I will always be." Zuko looks at Sokka, "Don't expect me to deny myself."

Sokka looks at the him, and places a hand on his shoulder, "I don't, but" Sokka searches for the right words. "Take me with you."

"What?" Zuko asks confused.

"You must have a bigger ship, and you're on a journey. Take me with you, I can help you." He says looking into his eyes.

"Sokka, you don't know me. You shouldn't trust me."

"Why not?" Sokka looks into his eyes. "You have nightmares too."

Zuko turns back, "I'll be back at sunset." He rows away on the boat.

Sokka sat at the edge of the water, Zuko rowed up to him.

"I was hoping you wouldn't be here."

"You knew I would be" Sokka replies climbing into the boat.

"Where does Katara think, you're going?"

"I left her a letter. She'll find it in the morning."

"She's going to come after you."

"No." Sokka laughs, "I told her I was going out early to fish."

"Sokka, she'll be worried sick about you." Zuko stops rowing.

"I know, but I can't let her follow me." Sokka pauses. "I do not trust you, however I do know that you are searching for something and the burn on your eye marks you. And I don't think it's the good kind of mark."

"it's not and Sokka.." Zuko is cut off

"This conversation is getting far to girly, come on, let's just row and look awesome." Sokka says as he leans forward in the boat. Zuko rolls his eyes, unsure how to take this strange boy.
