I'd like to start this chapter with the credits:

King Candy's Fall (a fabulous fanfic, this is where I first got the idea of King Candy being Vanellope's father; it's one of the earliest fanfics, but it's worth the read)

Oz: The Great and Powerful (the munchkin guard Knuck is called "sourpuss," which was where I got Sour Bill's nickname ;) )

.:A Walk in the Candy Woods:. (a really cool picture on DeviantArt of a Limbo-style Vanellope and King Turbug; inspired the final battle)

Sugar Rush: Expansion: Daddy Turbo (I love the sarcasm in this story; helped give rise to King Turbug's baby cy-bugs in the story)

Local Man Finds His Arcade 'Turbotastic' (another great fanfic, a bit longer, but got me thinking about what if Litwak (or others) knew about the characters coming to life after hours)

CarnEvil (that game used to give me nightmares, but that's where the "half-maggot, half-man, all creepy" creatures come from)

And then there are some sources that inspired only small moments in the story: Slaughterhouse 5 (the "so it goes" line), Hotel Transylvania (when Vanellope gets mad at Candy inside the Kingdom Hearts videogame), Finding Nemo (when Vanellope wakes up after almost dying and says she doesn't hate her father), The Wizard of Oz (when Riku says "What a world, what a world"), and Princess Bride (the "as you wish" moment) - to name a few. There's a lot more I'm sure you can find throughout the story when you re-read it.

And, as promised, here's a sneak peek at the sequel to "Connections."

The title will be "The Glitch in the System," and as you saw in the last chapter inside the archiving code, things are out of sorts. Big time. Kairi and Vanellope still don't understand the backstory memory, but they keep having strange dreams. The surge protector is very secretive now, sometimes not even coming out to check on infractions, he's so caught up in trying to straighten out the system. And Hannah (everyone's favorite moppet girl) is spending more and more time with the "arcadians" - you know, the people living in the arcade? Her parents become concerned when she'd rather spend more time at the arcade than in school activities. They try to keep Hannah from going so much - but nothing prepares them for when their daughter ends up inside the arcade. And things get trippier when Vanellope ends up in the real world.

There are some things I'd like your input on before I post this story:

- For starters, should I write King Candy's dialogue in the next story to include all his lisping? I didn't in this one to focus more on what he's saying to the characters - also because of the whole Turbo/Candy thing - but do you think it would be better with the lisps in the story?

- In my other fanfic I'm working on, "Slender Blind," I hide phrases within chapters and have the readers guess what they are. The phrases are usually references to other videogames, movies, books, or famous quotes/stuff, and I give hints to help figure it out. Would you be interested in doing the phrase game in "The Glitch in the System" too?

And with the start of "The Glitch in the System," I will be working on four different story projects, so I won't be updating as often with this story as I was with "Connections."
