Previously on Criminal Minds- Once Rossi got the half asleep youngster into his room, he gently settled him into bed and tucked Spencer and the stuffed Pooh he was still holding in. "Goodnight son" he whispered, brushing a stray hair out of the sleeping man's eyes.

Reid shuffled into the kitchen and quickly made his way over to the coffee maker. He poured himself a steaming cup of his favorite beverage, poured a mountain of sugar in his mug, stirred the brew, and then took a little sip. He groaned in pleasure as he sagged against the counter.

"Hey kid, do you want a little time alone with your coffee?" Morgan joked.

Spencer's face scrunched up. "Why would I need to be alone to drink my coffee?" he inquired. The confusion on his face swiftly transformed into anger as he noticed his friends standing over the stove. "Hey! What do you two think you're doing?! You shouldn't be up."

Dave sighed. "Spencer, we're…"

"Hurt" Reid finished as he walked over to his colleagues. He put down his coffee mug and took the spatula out of Rossi's hands. "Go sit down. I'll cook breakfast."

"You can cook?" Derek questioned, sounding genuinely surprised.

"No Morgan, I've lived off fast food and junk since I was twelve." Spencer sarcastically replied, rolling his eyes.

Derek put up his hands in surrender. "Yeah, okay, stupid question" he conceded.

"Just like your attempted prank last night" Reid said as he dug through the refrigerator for the ingredients he needed.

Now it was Morgan's turn to look confused. "Prank? What prank?"

"Don't feign ignorance, Morgan. You know exactly what juvenile act I'm talking about." Spencer threw back.

Derek absentmindedly rubbed the back of his neck. "Reid man, I have no idea what you're talking about." He stated.

"Really?" the younger man scoffed as he cracked eggs. "So you expect me to believe that the stuffed bear in question walked itself into my bedroom and crawled into my bed?"

That brought out Rossi's grin. "Spencer, Morgan is not responsible for that bear being in your bed."

"YOU DID THAT?" Reid incredulously growled.

Dave's grin widened. "No, you did." He countered.

"Me?" the younger man scoffed, raising an eyebrow. "Why would I prank myself?"

"You weren't playing a prank. I don't think you were even really awake at the time." Dave told him. Noting his son's confused expression, he decided to explain. "I found you asleep in your nursery early this morning. You were sitting in the rocking chair with Pooh in your lap and a pile of books at your feet."

"I remember now." Spencer broke in. "I couldn't sleep so I went in the nursery to look around a little. And then I saw the shelf with all the children's books and I decided to read through some to see if there were any stories Henry might like. I guess I fell asleep."

"That you did." Rossi said. "When I attempted to…"

The doorbell rang, ending the conversation.

"You expecting anybody, Rossi?" Morgan questioned.

"No" Dave responded as he stood. "But considering last night's events, I'm not surprised we have visitors this early. Knowing Garcia, she's probably been chomping at the bit to check on us all morning."

"Yeah, that sounds like Baby Girl." Derek conceded, getting out of his chair. He followed Rossi and Reid through the living room and to the front door.

Rossi peered out one of the windows beside the door. "What the…" he muttered before unlocking and opening the door. "Mama? What are you doing here?"

Mama Rossi stepped inside, cradled her son's face in her hands, and kissed his cheeks. "Davy" she cried, hugging the man. "My baby boy gets hurt and you're surprised I'm here?"

Morgan snickered at the term of endearment, calling the senior Rossi's attention to the other men in the room.

Mama Rossi's eyes glanced at the two younger men before focusing solely on Reid. "Oh my! Is that…is that James?" she reverently whispered, placing a hand on her mouth.

Smiling, Dave walked his mother over to the thin, young man. "Mama, I want you to meet my son, Spencer." He introduced, stressing the boy's name.

The elderly woman stared at her grandson for a moment and then treated him to the same greeting she had given his father. "He's so handsome." She stated as she gave the newest addition to the family the once over. "But so skinny! He's practically wasting away!"

"Mama…"

"I'll soon fix that. No grandson of mine is going to walk around looking like a skeleton." Mrs. Rossi declared. "You three go sit down. I have some cooking to do."

"Mama, that's not…" Dave broke off as the slam of car doors sounded. He glanced towards the doorway before rounding on his mother. "Mama, please tell me you didn't bring the rest of the family."

Mrs. Rossi looked back at her son. "Of course not, David. I remember what you told me. I only brought your Aunt Sophia and your Uncle Marco." She ticked off. "Oh, and your cousin Rosa and her husband Gregory." She turned back towards the kitchen. "They brought the others."

The three profilers barely had time to react to the news before people began filing in the front door. In minutes the living room was full of Rossi family members, all of whom went straight for Reid. They circled around their newest member, patting him on the back, kissing and hugging him, and even pinching his cheeks.

Dave watched the assault for a moment, gauging his son's reaction to it all. The boy's tense posture and wide, panicked eyes quickly set the new father in motion. He waded his way through the crowd, threw an arm around Spencer, and said, "Sorry guys, I need to borrow my son for a minute."

Reid allowed Rossi to lead him over to the other side of the room. "Thank you" he whispered once they were far away from the group. He sank down onto a nearby chair and wrapped his arms around himself.

Dave motioned Morgan over. He waited for the younger man to join him and then quietly said, "Get Reid out of here. This is too much, too soon."

Derek nodded. "Is there a way we can get out without being noticed?" he questioned.

"Yeah, go upstairs. There's another staircase at the end of the hall that leads to the backyard. You can circle around to your truck from there." Rossi instructed.

"Okay" Morgan agreed. "You gonna be alright here?"

"I'll be fine." Dave assured him. "I know how to deal with a Rossi get together."

"Alright, see you later man." Derek said with a smile. He stepped over to Reid, knelt down in front of him, and whispered something to the younger man.

Spencer nodded and stood. "Thanks dad" he mumbled before following Morgan.

Rossi watched for the two to disappear up the stairs and then turned and started for the crowd. He had a Rossi reunion to deal with.

Spencer diced up a tomato and tossed it in the bowl with the rest of the salad. He then used the tip of the knife to mix all the ingredients together. "Salads ready" he informed his friend.

"Great" Morgan replied. "Set the bowl on the table and then grab the dressing and condiments out of the fridge. Oh, and pour us some drinks, too. Garcia will be here any minute." He smiled at the sound of someone knocking on the door. "Perfect timing"

"I'll get it." Reid volunteered. He set the bowl of salad down and hurried out of the room. He rushed over to the door and without looking out first, threw it open. His eyes widened when instead of Garcia, Spencer found himself staring at Hailey and Hotch.
