A/N: Random story in anticipation of the Continuum season premire next week! I don't even know where the idea came from, but here it is!

Family Traits

A lone shadow lurked around the edges of the yard of a house. It was cloaked in black and grey. It's crystal blue eyes cut through the darkness like lighthouse beams. It was crouched outside a barn window, listening.

"Kiera. Kiera, are you there?"

"Good, well I just needed someone to talk to."

"Well, today was my birthday, and I kept to myself because, well I was adopted."

"No matter how hard I try, I can't find my parents."

"I know, Kiera, but I want to meet them. My last name isn't Sadler, but I don't know what it is. I need to know, Kiera." the figure wiped a stray tear from the corner of it's eye. The figure stood up, brushing the dirt off their cloak and disappeared into the night. The boy in the barn looked up from his computer. He thought he had heard a noise. Shaking his head, he turned back to his screen.

Occupation:

That was all Alec Sadler knew about his birth. He was adopted a few months after his birth by the Sadlers. When he was 14, Marcus Sadler died in a car crash, and Anna got remarried to Roland Randal. Roland had his own son, Julian. Julian was involced with Liber8, a terrorist group. He hadn't seen him in a while, after he disappeared.

His crystal blue eyes turned back to his online 'research', which is more illegal hacking, than research. You see, Alec has an eodetic memory and a knack for cracking locks and codes on anything from computers to doors.

His only friend, Kiera Cameron, was a poloce officer with the Vancouver Police Department. She had dark brown hair and brown eyes. She had a huge secret she expected Alec to keep. She was from the future. 2077. The terrorist group Liber8 tried to escape execution, so they employed Alec, from their time, to help them.

He brushed his curly, unco-operative sand coloured hair out of his eyes and began to type. Millions of lines of code whizzed past his eyes, glowing green. One line caught his attention.

'Come, Alec Sadler. You wish to know, and I have answers.' was written in binary 1s and 0s. His face turned a stark shade of white, and he backtracked the IP of the person meddling with his system, which was impossible for even the RCMP to hack.

The IP was rerouted though seventy three different countries, and just as many Proxy servers. He would never be able to track the sender, so he sent a line back.

'How do I know I can trust you?'

'I am closer to you than you think. Outside the Vancouver PD office, tomorrow, noon. I do not have much time in Vancouver, so please, join me.'

'I will. How will I know who you are?'

'Look for the face in the crowd with eyes of crystal blue. I am the one who is looking for you.'

'I will be there.' Alec shut downvhis system for the night and went to sleep. He was anxious, and slightly nervous, to meet the mystery hacker who knew his name. As his head hit the pillow on his make-shaft bed in the barn, he began to snore. He had a dreamless sleep, plagued by darkness and shadow.

A/N: Should I continue this story? I have a plotline for both parents and the boy, I just want to know if I should continue it. QOTC: Who do you think the figure with the crystal blue eyes is?
