Seren stopped just outside the mess hall. She didn't want to wander too far and she knew Kellyn would be timing her as she spoke. Turning slightly, she leaned on the wall and stared at her supposed to be family.

"What do you want?" she asked, her voice wasn't harsh, it wasn't unwelcoming it was more… hurt.

"That's one heck of a scar," Tyler spoke without thinking. Sarah almost glared at her son as she looked at the scar on Serens' face. The black haired girl scoffed slightly and rolled her eyes.

"If you're just here to insult, I have better things to do," Seren replied, her voice monotone as she pushed herself off the wall.

"Wait," Sarah spoke as she looked at the girl in front of her. Seren stopped, eyes trained on her mother, who turned to Tyler. "Be nice or keep quiet," she ordered before turning back to Seren. "Why did you save Caden?" she questioned as Seren gave her a confused look.

"He's my brother, why wouldn't I?" she replied, her voice slightly wavering as she wondered where the conversation would go.

"Because you hate this family," Tyler replied as Sarah nodded her head in

agreement. Seren wanted to laugh.

"I love Caden, I hate the both of you," she corrected as Tyler shrugged his shoulders, her mother, however, seemed to have a sad glint in her eyes.

"Regardless of that," Sarah spoke as she looked into Serens' eyes. The black haired girl felt herself growing nervous. The only time her mother would look her directly in the eyes was when she would beat her. "Thank you," at this, Serens' eyes widened slightly as she looked at the woman, who gave her a small smile. "You saved my baby, thank you," Sarah added as she sniffed slightly. Seren nodded her head, not sure what to do as Tyler rubbed her back a little.

"You're… welcome," the black haired girl replied as watched the woman straighten herself up slightly. "I should get back to the celebration, you're free to stay," Seren spoke as she went to walk passed her mother, who gently grabbed her arm. Seren froze, fright filling her body.

"I never told you why I didn't want you to become a Ranger," the woman spoke as she released Serens' arm. The black haired girl turned to her, a slightly curious look on her face. "He was a Ranger. He was never home and when he was it was only for a day or so before he left again. Whenever he came home I would send you to your friends. If he wasn't going to be home all the time for you he was useless," Sarah started to explain. Seren felt anger raising up in her slightly. "And then he died on the job. A quest gone wrong," the black haired girl blinked slightly, watching as her mother smiled sadly. "I didn't want you to follow in his footsteps, but you did anyway and you risked your life twice! I read about the Dim Sun incident. The fact you could have died… terrified me. I thought you were going to go down the path your father did so I tried to stop you by-,"

"By beating the hell out of me," Seren interrupted as she looked at the woman in front of her. Sarah didn't look at the girl as she nodded her head once. She clenched and unclenched her fists quietly.

"But you followed in his footsteps anyway," she muttered. Seren almost rolled her eyes, had she not seen, for the first time in her life, how sincere her mother actually was.

"He died, but that didn't define my future in this career. I have friends here who have looked after me since I came into this Union. They're my family and I love them to pieces, they would never, ever let anything happen to me or each other. Our feelings here are mutual, we help each other, we save each other, we look out for each other because we're family and it's what you should do," she ranted slightly as she looked away from the woman in front of her. Tyler remained silent as he looked between the two of them, he knew that their mother was on the verge of tears, but he remained silent.

"I know… I know it is but you're my daughter!" Sarah practically shouted. "The idea that you could have died a few weeks into your job would have killed me!" she finally looked at Seren as she spoke, the black haired girl had to take a step backwards, her mother was crying.

"You didn't make it seem that way," Seren stated as she folded her arms slightly. "If you didn't want me to go to the Ranger School because of that reason why didn't you just tell me?" she spat.

"Because you're exactly like her," Tyler spoke for the first time in a while. Serens' head snapped to him. "You're headstrong and brave like mother. When you were younger you didn't need anyone to look out for you because you could handle yourself," he explained as Sarah nodded her head. Seren sighed slightly.

"What's your point?" she asked. Tyler gave her a confused look. "Why did you come here? All we're going to do is argue," she pointed out as Tyler looked at the ground this time. Sarah took a deep breath and took a step forward.

She hesitantly reached her hands out slightly and went to grip the young girls' hands. Seren unfolded her arms and let her mother hold her hands in hers. She didn't understand what was happening, but no emotion washed over her. The black haired girl didn't feel anything towards this woman in front of her.

"Caden loves you. That much is visible from the way he's clung to you tonight. When I spoke to him on the phone he was happy. He loves you to pieces and he's missed you," Sarah explained as Seren went to draw her hands away. Her mother gripped them tighter and looked at the girl in front of her. Seren furrowed her eyebrows, feeling slightly uncomfortable at the gesture. "I know it will take time and I know the past will always be there and it won't ever be forgotten. I know I can't make amends for what I've done, Tyler can't either, but we've talked it over, and we would both like to have some kind of relationship with you," Sarah requested as she bit her lip slightly looking at her daughter.

Seren moved her hands from her mothers' and looked towards her brother, he smiled gently.

"We've been the worst people on earth to you when we were supposed to be the ones to raise you and support you through whatever decisions you make," he stated, looking to his mother and to the ground slightly.

"Is this… is this your apology?" Seren asked as she looked at the two of them.

"Yes, we're both sorry for the way we've treated you," Sarah replied with a nod.

"Extremely sorry, Seren," Tyler added. The black haired girl was shocked by his tone of voice. She hummed slightly, not sure what to believe as she looked between the two of them.

"Everything okay out here?" Kellyn asked as he walked out of the mess hall. He moved to stand next to Seren with a small frown on his face. Seren looked at her partner and smiled slightly.

"Yeah… it's fine," she answered in a small mutter. Kellyn furrowed his eyebrows and looked at the two in front of her. His eyes landed on Tyler, his gut churned as he glared slightly.

"I'm Kellyn, Serens' partner," he spoke as he held his hand out slightly. Tyler took his hand firmly and shook it, not recognising him in his human form.

"Tyler, I'm Serens' brother."

Kellyn then turned to the woman in front of them and looked at her before looking at Seren, the resemblance was uncanny.

"Sarah… I'm her mother," she answered, shaking Kellyns' hand gently. The brunette nodded his head and turned to Seren, who sighed slightly. They were even being nice to her partner, their actions were something she wasn't used to.

"Big sister!" Caden yelled as he ran out of the mess hall to the girl. Sarah wiped her eyes clean on any tears that had fallen and smiled as Seren picked the young boy up. "Are they being nice to you?" Caden asked as he cuddled in close to Serens' neck.

"Yeah, they are," Seren replied as she looked at the two in front of her before looking at Kellyn, who gave her a reassuring smile. Somehow she knew the brunette had heard most, if not all, of their conversation.

"Alright," the black haired girl spoke as she looked at the two in front of her once more. "We can work on building some sort of relationship," she added as Caden grinned widely at the girl. Sarah covered her mouth with her hands in shock, feeling weak in the knees as Tyler caught her quickly to stop her from falling.

"Thank you," Sarah whispered as she quickly pulled the black haired girl into a hug. Caden, who was still in her arms, gave Seren a confused look, while Seren gave an uncomfortable expression. "Sorry, I just… thank you," Sarah whispered as she wiped the falling tears from her face.

"Well, now that this is sorted, we should head back inside, right Sere?" Kellyn asked as he looked at the black haired girl, who nodded.

"Yeah, I'll go find Kate and the others. Do you want to come meet everyone?" Seren asked, her mother and brother were already here, they might as well meet her friends. The two nodded their heads, smiles on their faces as Seren turned around.

"You go, we'll catch up," Kellyn smiled as he ushered for Seren to walk inside with Caden. The black haired girl gave her partner a confused look, but complied and went on ahead inside.

Once the brunette knew his partner was out of earshot he turned back to Sarah and Tyler, who gave him a confused look.

"I think it goes without saying, but if you do anything to upset her or hit her I will kill you," Kellyn spoke as he looked at the two. A threatening look filled his face and eyes as he glared at the two in front of him.

For the first time, Sarah and Tyler froze slightly, nodding their heads hesitantly as the brunette walked off without another word. Tyler couldn't help but smile as Sarah gaped slightly.

Seren had definitely found herself some good friends.

"Katherine, please bring everyone outside."

A couple more hours into the celebrations had passed by and everyone was chatting and drinking amongst themselves. Kate looked up as Arceus' voice entered her mind.

The brunette walked over to an empty glass sitting on the side and tapped onto it three times. Everyone in the mess hall turned to look at the brunette, who smiled sweetly.

"Everyone, if I may have your attention. Please, could everyone follow me outside of the Union?" she requested. Mutters erupted amongst the group in front of the girl, even the other Rangers were confused.

Kate grinned as she quickly made her way out of the Union with the members of the celebration. Gasps were heard amongst everyone as they stepped outside to the sight that awaited them.

Arceus hovered tall and proud in the night sky. People rushed forward to get a good look at the god type pokemon. Arceus smiled down at the small group in front of him and roared loudly.

"Thank you, Katherine," the pokemon spoke as everyone looked at him in awe. "I have come tonight, in order to personally thank all the Rangers for their assistance with destroying the darkness. The world is once again at peace thanks to everyone who has partaken in the mission. The legendary pokemon and I are thankful to all of you and will forever be in your debt," Arceus nodded his head as everyone smiled gently up at the pokemon in front of them.

"You're welcome!" Crawford yelled out suddenly, causing the group to look at him and the pokemon to chuckle slightly.

"If there is anything us legendries can do in order to help any of you, please don't hesitate to ask us. This is a large debt we need to repay and we wish you luck with the next mission the future brings you," Arceus nodded his head as Kate walked towards the large god.

Arceus leaned his head down to the brunette as she reached a hand out and leaned her forehead on his large face.

"You're very welcome Arceus, don't stop talking to me this time though," the brunette whispered as the God smiled slightly.

"Of course. I will continue to speak with you whenever you wish, Katherine," he added as he leaned back up to address the group once more. "Now, I shall be on my way. Enjoy your celebration, you deserve it, all of you," the god added as he started to disappear. "Oh, before I go," he nodded his head to Rythmi and Isaac, who were enveloped in a bright white light.

Everyone stared in confusion as the light surrounded the two of them. White lightning sparks erupted from the light and shot up towards the sky as the two moved around slightly. No one could tell what was happening, the light was too bright, but the air around them became thick and heavy as the light got brighter and bright until it disappeared in the form of small white bubbles lifting towards the sky.

Rythmi looked at her hands and quickly felt her head. Her long blonde hair filled her fingers a she looked at Isaac… she was actually looking at Isaacs' body.

"Isaac," she whispered in shock as Isaac looked at Rythmi.

"Rythmi," the blonde replied as she screamed rather loudly and flung her arms around Isaacs' shoulders.

"We're back!" she yelled in excitement as Isaac smiled and wrapped his arms around his fellow blondes' waist. Everyone looked at the two, waiting for an explanation.

"They switched bodies!" Ben yelled, having already known what had happened.

Arceus' laugh echoed in the night as he disappeared. No one questioned Isaac or Rythmi as the two grinned at one another, happy to be back in the correct body.

"Sere? You okay?" Kellyn asked as he looked at his body in the mirror. He was still discovering new scars on his arms and torso each time he looked in the mirror.

"Yeah, I am," Seren answered as she walked out of the bathroom, rubbing her hair with a towel. She stopped when she saw Kellyn looking at himself in the mirror. "Are you?" she asked, wondering what the brunette was thinking.

"Not really," Kellyn replied as Seren almost sighed. "I mean I kind of want to play connect the scars and see what I can draw," he elaborated with a small shrug of his shoulders.

Seren gave him a confused look, not sure what to make of the reply but smiled slightly nonetheless.

"So, you don't mind the scars?" she questioned, walking towards the boy in front of her. Kellyn looked at the girl behind him in the mirror and smiled gently.

"Should I?" he pondered.

"You were always one for looks," Seren replied in a pointed voice as she removed the towel from her head, leaving her hair wet and messy. Kellyn couldn't help but chuckle.

"I was, yeah. But then I met you and you, Seren, have taught me that there is a lot more to a person than looks," he responded and turned to look at the girl standing behind him. Seren couldn't help but feel slightly proud as she looked at the boy.

"Would you find me ugly if I had another scar, one worse than this?" Seren asked as she pointed to the jagged scar on her face. Kellyn took her hand in his own and smiled gently.

"You could have a thousand scars, and I wouldn't find you any less beautiful," he whispered as he kissed her hand gently. Seren couldn't help but smile as she looked at her partner. "After all, the scars a Ranger carries around with them are a sign of their bravery," he added as Seren gave a larger smile and nodded her head.

"That they are," she agreed and looked up at the brunette, who still had her hand near his lips. Kellyn took a deep breath and squeezed his eyes closed. "What's wrong?" Seren asked as she cocked her head to the side slightly. Kellyn hummed a little before looking down at the girl in front of him.

He reached his right hand out and gently cupped her pale left cheek. Her wet hair brushed against his fingers, chilling them slightly.

"Kellyn?" Seren asked, confusedly as she looked at the boy in front of her.

"You know I love you, right?" he questioned. Seren felt her heart beat pick up slightly as she swallowed a little and opened her mouth to speak.

"Yeah, I know," she answered and Kellyn couldn't help but chuckle slightly as he kissed her hand again.

"I mean more than a friend, more than a partner, Sere," the brunette spoke again, this time he was more confident. Serens' face flared red as she tried to look away from the brunette, but he held her face firmly in his hand. The black haired girl smiled slightly as Kellyn looked down at her.

"I love you too," she spoke, a wide grin spreading onto her face as she did so. Kellyn blinked once, then twice before his face spread into a grin and he hugged the black haired girl tightly.

"Sere?" Kellyn asked as he pulled away from the girl, who hummed, looking into his soft brown eyes. "I'm going to kiss you now," he informed. Seren didn't get a chance to register his words as his lips were gently placed against hers.

Serens' eyes widened slightly, but after a moment she kissed the brunette back. Her mouth moved in sync with his as Kellyn snaked his arms tightly around her waist. Seren moved her arms around the brunettes' neck and tangled her hands tightly in his hair.

Kellyns' hands moved down the black haired girls' waist as he slid them over her bottom towards the top of her legs. Seren gasped slightly as Kellyn picked her up and walked towards the bed. With lips still connected he laid the black haired girl down on his bed and used his arms to support himself.

Seren couldn't help but smile before the brunette pulled away for a breath of air. Seren looked at Kellyn, who stared down at her. He smiled gently and pecked her lips once more before leaning his forehead against hers.

"You have no idea how long I've wanted to do that," the brunette whispered as he smiled down at his new girlfriend.

"Oh, I think I do," Seren chuckled as she placed her hands on his cheeks and gently kissed him once more.

Finally, things had fallen back in place for the both of them.

"The party was fun," Kate spoke as she sat on her windowsill, looking out at Almia, she couldn't help but smile.

"I was surprised when Seren brought her mum and brother in," Keith admitted from the bathroom with a mouth full of toothpaste. Kate nodded absent mindly.

"Yeah. I guess they want a relationship with her or something," the brunette replied as she listened to Keith spit the toothpaste from his mouth.

"As long as Seren's alright, I don't think there'll be a problem," Keith replied as he walked out of the bathroom and towards Kate. He took a seat in front of her on the windowsill and smiled gently.

"I'm pretty sure Kellyn already threatened them," Kate chuckled as she shook her head slightly.

"Oh, he has. Did you not feel the tension when he walked back into the room?" Keith asked with a small smirk and the shake of his head.

"Honestly I wasn't paying attention. I was more interested in Sven and Wendy. Did you see them? They've gotten even closer," Kate giggled as she kicked her feet in excitement.

Keith smiled, it was nice to see the brunette be able to go back to being her old giddy self, especially after all the crap they'd been through.

"I expect a wedding from them quite soon if I'm honest," Keith nodded his head as he thought for a moment. "Though I actually think Luana and Crawfords' will come first."

"If I'm not maid of honour I will be very disappointed," Kate huffed as she folded her arms, but smiled thinking about her brother and how happy Luana made him.

"I call best man," Keith winked. "Means I get to hook up with the maid of honour," he added as Kate laughed at the red head.

"What was up with you and Kellyn at the start of this mission anyway? There was so much tension," the brunette stated as she looked down at her nails before looking up at Keith, who hummed slightly.

"He thought I was trying to get with Seren," Keith answered with a shrug as Kate looked at him with wide eyes before laughing loudly.

"You know, if Kellyn and Seren aren't in full make-out session now I'll be very disappointed," the brunette stated as Keith nodded in agreement with her.

The two sat in silence for a short while, just watching the night go by. It was quiet outside, calm and peaceful.

"This is the first time I've seen it so peaceful," Kate whispered as she leaned her head on the window frame.

"We went through Dim Sun and then the Darkness, during the celebration of Dim Sun it was hectic with celebrations afterwards so we couldn't even appreciate the atmosphere or scenery," the red head agreed as he tapped Kate on the leg with his foot.

The brunette hummed and looked up at her partner a small smile on her face as she did so. Keith studied her for a moment as his mind raced a mile a minute.

Kate was beautiful, always had been in his eyes. He loved the way she smiled at him and the way she could make her friends laugh all the time. He loved the way her eyes shined when she would look at anyone and everyone. Kate was a beautiful, young, woman in his eyes and therefore he wondered whether or not he should take the chance.

"Keith?" the brunette asked as Keith stared at her. After a moment his mind clicked into place and he muttered two words.

"Screw it."

Kates' eyes widened as she felt something warm on her lips and cheeks. Keith was kissing her roughly, while his hands held her cheeks where they were to ensure she couldn't move away from him.

The brunette blinked in surprise as Keith pulled away from her. His face suddenly turned bright red as he looked down at the girl he had practically climbed on.

Kates' mind started to set in motion once more as she realised that he had just kissed her. Keith opened his mouth to speak, but instead, Kate pushed him back slightly, climbing over the red head and straddling his waist.

Keith gasped as he was forced back against his end of the window and slipped his arms around Kates' waist. The brunette gripped him by the hair and pulled his lips down onto her, rougher than he had before.

Keith gripped Kates' shirt in his hands as he begged for entry to her mouth. Kate allowed him in as the two used their tongues to fight for dominance. Keith smirked as he won and explored the brunettes' mouth, never losing his smirk.

The red head pulled away from Kate a moment later as the brunette started to pant heavily. Keith stared at her in shock, as Kate grinned at the red head.

"I wondered when you would grow some balls," she whispered at the red head and kissed him again, this time gentler. Keith pulled away from Kate, a smirk filled his face as he looked at the girl.

"I have more than balls, Katie," the red head whispered. At that Kate slapped the red head on the chest and climbed off of him. Keith watched as she walked over to her bed and laid down.

"This is the part where we sleep, Keith," she replied. The red head whined slightly, but walked over to Kates' bed and laid down next to her. He wrapped his arms around Kates' waist and let the brunette bury her head into his chest as he kissed her forehead.

"You're aware this means you're my girlfriend, right?" Keith asked as he started to close his eyes.

"I'm aware," Kate nodded.

"And it means you can't leave me."

"I won't."

"And you have to marry me one day."

At this Kate looked up at the red head and grinned.

"I think I can live with that."

"Well you're going to have to."

"As long as you can live with me."

"Of course I can. I love you, Katie."

Kate smiled.

"And I love you, Keith."

Keith grinned.

Silently the two drifted off to sleep in their dark room illuminated by the glow of the moon flowing in through the window.

From the West side of the Almia Region the Union stood tall and proud looking over the whole of it. Inside of the Union slept the Top Rangers, Sven and Wendy, Ben and Summer, Kellyn and Seren, Kate and Keith and Top Operators Rythmi and Isaac.

Each had participated in the rise and fall of a power known as the Darkness. Each had lived through their worst fears and gained both emotional and physical scars, but each was stronger.

And now, for the first time in a long time, the Top Rangers, Union workers and people of Almia would get to bask in an era of peace. Even if it was for just a short while.
