Lina and Xelloss - Slayers

Chapter 7

Naruto yawned as he sat in a chair, early the morning after the attack on Gato's main base. Holly had already handed over Gato's for the locals to deal with in the way the best saw fit, most likely being his death. But with this done that meant there was very little left for the three of them to really do. Kakashi's team was doing a very good job of guarding the bridge builder, and unless some of Gato had hired some extra help before he was caught then it was very likely they would be sitting around for the rest of the mission.

They had of course warned Kakashi and his team about Zabuza apprentice Haku, but they very much doubt they would be attacking them right now, or for that matter the bridge builder. This was based off that fact she seemed to close to the Zabuza to just cause needless violence. Also with the fact Zabuza and Haku both thought herself as a tool it would mean she would either kill herself, not very likely, or seek revenge on those that killed Zabuza.

With this in mind they were getting ready to leave soon, but they were stuck during till night time as Mavis pointed out there was no point to try and leave sooner. Besides if they left that day it could force Haku to make more desperate actions to get revenge.

"I am telling you this there is not point to remaining here," Naruto said, moving over to his bed picking up the argument again since there was not much else to do.

"You make it seem like we could just leave at anytime," Mavis pointed out.

"We can, both Holly and I can cast the spell to keep you safe from the sun till we reach home or the Leaf Village." Naruto countered.

"True, but I am low on magic right now since I have not recharged in nearly a month. And you know that your skills in magic while go do have a chance of messing up. And where would that leave us if you changed Mavis into a cat?" Holly said countering his counter.

"I would not mind being a cat, I could cuddle against Naruto while we flew," Mavis said, thinking about that.

"Not helping," Holly said groaning.

"I could try and change you," Naruto suggested.

"No you are not going to try changing her shape. You know Hermione forbade you from trying that till she could teach you better," Holly said telling them both off.

"So mean, I am just trying to keep myself from being bored," Naruto said.

Before Holly could reply a voice spoke causing them all to draw their weapons both in worry and surprise, "My, my, you three still argue as much as normal, but that does not bug me, I think fights and chaos are something to be treasured."

"Xelloss! Show yourself," Naruto yelled out knowing the voice anywhere.

"I already have," Xelloss said.

Naruto spun around and leaved his pistol at Xelloss his heart pumping faster as he asked, "How did you get into this world? And none of this secret business."

Xelloss smiled and looked at them with a seemingly innocent smile. To most people he looked harmless, and about the only thing that really set him apart, were the clothes he was wearing. He was wearing a cloak that was connected at the front with a metal and ruby fastener, in his hand was a staff that looked to be part of a down tree branch though it was slight smoothed out, at the top held between two small branches was a large ruby the size of a fist. Under his cloak he was wearing a tan shift, and black pants. He was wearing white gloves and boots on his hand and feet respectively. He also had purple hair and his eyes were closed right now with a rather smug look on his face.

To people in this world and some others one he appeared to be no more than a traveler, maybe a strangely dressed one, but a traveler none the less. But to those that knew the truth he was something much darker and scarier. He was came from a race of monsters and held power that only a few could even hope to boost. To even the most trained and skilled opponents in his home world, he was someone they would still likely flee from rather than fight, if only because he could kill them in a moment.

"I am here, on orders from Tinkerbell, the Golden Lord," Xelloss said his eyes open for one of the few times they Naruto had ever seen them. It was these eyes, though not so much in this world that normally showed his true nature as a monster, a powerful energy being rather than a human.

"Wait, Tinkerbell sent you here," Naruto said confused.

"Yes… I got a message from her to protect someone from my own world, as their death could have caused the worlds destruction. And as you know a monster cannot disobey an order given by a superior. Well unless they have a death wish," Xelloss said.

"Wait you followed an order other than Beast Master, and not only that but to save the world rather than destroy it?" Holly asked in surprised.

"I want many things, but to die is not one of them currently," Xelloss answered simply.

"So all that aside what was your job," Naruto asked.

"It was simply to save Gourry Gabriev from dying from the hands of the other two Dark Lords. They had seen the how well the Hellmaster Phibrizzo had done, and decided to make Lina casting the Gaga Slave again, and with a few runes thought maybe they could make her lose control. The plan almost worked to; had I and my master had not stepped in, but sadly we were too late to stop them from attacking Gourry," Xelloss said, gaining an annoyed look.

"So they killed Gourry then what happened?" Mavis asked.

"Lina was already beginning to cast the spell, but I appeared and knocked her out, and was ordered by my own master, Zelas, to bring Lina someplace safe till she recovered enough emotionally to return to the world," Xelloss said before sitting down on a bed, as a look of fear crossed his face.

"Your… master is dead isn't she," Naruto said.

"Yes… it is very likely she is dead right now. She did not survive this long without learning a few tricks, she might even save Gourry if." Xelloss pointed out, a smirk reappearing on his face.

"Wait I thought you said he was dead," Holly asked.

"He might as well been, his life force was faint but still there. If my master is dead, then he will indeed be dead as well," Xelloss explained.

"Okay, so that being said, why are you here rather than Neverland?" Naruto asked.

"Unfortunately I could not locate Tinkerbell and she did not give me a location where to meet her at. So with this in mind I located the others of your group I did know, which is why I came to see you. There is also that fact that magic Lina uses would be at its strongest in Neverland, which floats in the Chaos Sea. So you add a hot tempered person with a huge range of spells, in the source of all magic. Yeah I don't wish to die today from her either." Xelloss said.

"So you brought her here to destroy this world instead?" Holly said slightly annoyed.

"Her magic will be greatly weakened outside her home world, so she will not be able to pull off her most powerful spells, and her normal spells should be greatly weakened" Xelloss said smiling.

"Are you sure of this?" Naruto asked.

"Very sure, as her powers should be greatly decrease as well," Xelloss said, giving a knowing smile.

"Last time you said you were sure of something, you nearly got killed," Naruto said bluntly.

"I did not have all the information at that time, so it is not surprising I almost got killed in going up against someone who was actually my equal in power," Xelloss said, looking a little embarrassed.

"Though I do have a question; where is Lina if you are supposed to be guarding her?" Mavis asked.

"Right here," Xelloss said before walking over to Holly's bed.

With a wave of his cloak a female appeared on the bed. She was dressed differently from Xelloss in many ways. Why Xelloss clothing choice made it him seem sometimes out of place, mostly because of his age, and the style after a priest. Lina's easily set her out from others just because one could tell she was trying to stand out. She had red hair, a black cloak with a purple inside. She had had a turtle neck like shirt that was red, with while edging, and a strip of white cloth over her rather small chest. She was wearing red pants held up by a belt. On her feet were white books, and the white gloves on her hand. One her wrists, neck, and waist were rubies. All in all it gave her a magician's look about her.

A groan came from her, as she rubbed her head. Xelloss moved a few feet away, causing the others in the room to take a clue from this and keep an eye on Lina. After all if he was moving away there was a good chance she was going to wake up in a bad mood. Lina barely opened her eyes, before spotting Xelloss and from her hand a fireball leapt out and hit him hard and sent him flying into the wall.

"Okay Xelloss where am I, and why did you kidnap me," Lina yelled, as energy rapidly collected in her hand again.

Xelloss with a wave of his hand caused the fire to vanish. The wall he ran into as well as himself was unharmed and he was floating a foot above the ground. He spoke in an even voice, but it did keep a slight edge to it as he spoke, "I was ordered the Golden Lord to keep you safe. Now put out the fireball."

"And that involves kidnapping me while I was being attacked" Lina asked both confused and angry.

"Yes… not a second after I knocked you out we were attacked, by two of the remaining three Dark Lords, with only my own master no partaking in the attack on you," Xelloss said.

"I see… wait a second where is Gourry? Did you not try and save him, or was he truly ki-killed…" Lina asked looking around, before stopping as her mind caught up to what had happen before Xelloss taking her to this location.

"He and my master are likely dead," Xelloss said, looking down at the floor his own fears for the first time showing. Something even Lina had not thought possible as the news felt like a punch in her gut, as the energy in her hand disappeared.

"How… why did those two attack Gourry and myself?" Lina asked, a slight tremor in her voice.

"Based on what I know. The two Lords were trying to make you cast the Gaga Slave before using their own magic to make you lose control," Xelloss explained.

"Then why did you not help them, rather than help the Golden Lord," Lina asked confused.

"To be simple, myself and my master are willing to let the world lead it own self into the Chaos rather than pushing it into it. Plus when your ordered by the Golden Lord to do something you do it," Xelloss said smirking a little.

"Fair enough, so where am I and who are they?" Lina asked.

"Oh yes, where are my manners, Lina these are the adopted children of the Golden Lord," Xelloss said, causing Lina to stare in shock at Naruto and the others.

"Really is this true," Lina said, her voice filled with shock, awe, fear, and excitement.

"Well… not really," Mavis said, "Only Naruto was young enough for Tinkerbell to be considered adopted. The rest of us kind of joined her to help keep peace over the many different worlds she can visit."

"I see… wait a second! The Golden Lord, the known Rulers of all things, is named Tinkerbell?" Lina said, looking like she was about to laugh.

"Yes this is true." Holly said nodding.

Lina laughed lightly, "Whoa that is a good one. So anyway Xelloss where are we?"

"We are in Naruto's home world, outside the Chaos Void in which our world lives," Xelloss answered.

"So, what your saying is we are not on one of the four worlds that is within the domain of the Golden Lord? But how is that possible" Lina asked, even more surprised.

"The first is a simple yes to your question, as for how. That is rather hard to explain as only Tinkerbell knows how her world came to be, or for that matter how your worlds came to be," Holly explained.

Lina nodded thoughtfully at this, "So… when am I meeting her?"

"Why do you think you will be meeting her?" Xelloss asked.

"Because not only did you save me, but you brought me out of our world and into another. If I am to guess it would be because you were looking for Tinkerbell," Lina said knowingly.

"You got me there," Xelloss said.

"So… when are we meeting up with… Tinkerbell," Lina asked.

"In about a day or so, unless something happens to delay her return," Naruto said.

"Okay, though one thing. Xelloss," Lina said a small grin forming on her face.

"Yes?" Xelloss said looking at her again.

Xelloss caught by surprise as he was sent flying out a window as a ball of energy impacted with him. Not a few feet outside the window he burst into flames. Lina called out as Xelloss put out the fireball, "that is for kidnapping me."

Naruto, laughed lightly at this, it seemed life was about to get interesting again, if they had a hothead like Lina with them. He smiled and got up and walked over to the window, looking about he noticed someone quickly duck and hide. It seemed Haku was getting ready to make her move soon.
