Hey guys! Yes, I know it's been a VERY long time since the last chapter and I have to say... I'm VERY sorry. I'm sorry that it has taken such a long time to write these chapters.

To be honest, it's both writer's block and rushed work. I'm having a hard time to make chapters really interesting and make it not boring. I feel like my creative writing is slowly dying. With my creative writing slowly dying, I'm finding it harder to make and finish chapters quickly. So I'm very sorry if you have been waiting a long time for this. This was a hard chapter to complete and the next one is gonna be harder, since it's gonna be the finale of Season 1. No, not the graduation duel. The duel against the Sacred Beasts.

I've got an idea on how to end it as it would be a tag duel, but the middle part is gonna take a while. I have not started to plan it yet, so please be very patient.

Chapter 16 - Amnael's Endgame

It has been a week since the duel against Titan and everyone is on edge because of what Atticus announced after that duel. Professor Banner was involved with the Shadow Riders somehow and nobody knew where he was. The day after that happened was a day off for all the students at the Academy, it was Duel Monster's Spirit Day. It was the day where the students appreciate the duel spirits and dress up as their favourite monster(s). There was a duel between a student dressed up as Dark Magician Girl and Jaden and predictably, Jaden won. However, nobody knew that the Dark Magician Girl duelist was Dark Magician Girl herself as a duel spirit.

After that holiday a couple of days later, a man by the name of The Gambler, comes to Duel Academy and asks Principal Sheppard to hire him to take out the Shadow Riders. Principal Sheppard accepts on one condition, he has to defeat one of the key holders and The Gambler chooses Alexis as his opponent because in his opinion, he thinks she's the toughest duelist in Duel Academy. During the duel, Alexis knows her opponent as an old classmate that plays unfair and makes bets through card games. She faced him once and lost her scarf, but after she won her current duel, she got her scarf back and left The Gambler heartbroken.

After that week, things have gotten a bit quieter in Duel Academy. Well... except for a group of slifer red students making their way to the Slifer Red Meal Hall. "There's probably still some food left! C'mon let's hurry!" Jaden, Syrus and Chumley had overslept for their breakfast and once they reached there, all they saw was Roxas looking at his deck and Chazz holding a slightly stained hankerchief. "W-where's the food?"

Chazz wiped a little mess from his mouth and simply answered, "I ate what was left". Everyone except Roxas and Chazz were shocked. "Huh?! All of it?!" Roxas blinked. "Sorry guys, I tried to stop him. But even then, there wasn't that much left". Jaden looked at the kitchen and shouted, "Hey, Professor Banner!" But no answer came and Roxas tilted his head to the side. "Uh, Jaden? Professor Banner's not here remember?" Jaden added. "Where is he?" Everyone shrugged at this question. The last time that Banner was last seen was the duel between Abidos the Third and Roxas.

"Well, wherever he is, he would have wanted us to attend his classes". The Slifer gang looked at Syrus when he said that. "Maybe you're right Syrus. But we should look for him after class". Jaden gave a nod. "Sounds like a plan".

Meanwhile...

Everyone in the classroom was waiting for the teacher to arrive. The Slifer gang were waiting anxiously for Professor Banner to be found and teach the class, but it seemed that wasn't the case as they see Professor Crowler walking to the teacher's desk. "Good morning class! Due to the recent absent of Professor Banner and having no luck on finding him, I'll be teaching his class today". Jaden faceplants onto his desk, knowing that this is going to end badly. Crowler starts to pick where Professor Banner left off. He starts on a lecture about the Mark of Amnael, which looks like a yellow swirl with a yellow dot in the middle.

Then after that lecture, he tries to do an alchemy experiment. However, due to his lack of experience, it ends up blowing in his face instead. Roxas covered his mouth and snikered a little. Crowler recovered from the small explosion and announced, "Oh, I almost forgot! Can Jaden, Roxas and Chazz go to the Chancellor's office after class?" The key bearers looked at each other, knowing something big has happened.

After a somewhat painful lesson of experiment explosions, the three key bearers were in the Chancellor's office, as well as Bastion, Alexis, Crowler and Zane. The Chacellor explains the situation. "As you all know, Professor Banner is still missing. We haven't seen any sign of him on this island, nor has he left the island". Chazz steps forward a little. "Maybe he was defeated by a shadow rider". Chancellor Sheppard shook his head. "That could be the case, but there is no spirit gate opened. Therefore, he still has his key".

Roxas looks down, but looks back up with determination. "Then all we can do is keep searching for him". Chancellor Sheppard seemed to have agreed to Roxas' logic. "Very well, continue with your studies. All of you... and be careful".

Later that day...

"Man, I sure hope Professor Banner is alright..." Syrus said to himself. Jaden had explained what happened back at the Chacellor's office to Syrus and Chumley. "I hope so too, Chumley. 'Cause we're gonna need another key bearer to help defeat the last shadow rider". Roxas said to the group, but watched the campfire as he said it. Chazz was sort of listening, but he seemed to notice a lack of a cat roaming around the slifer red campus. He gets up and leaves the group to enjoy the campfire. Syrus asks, "Where are you going, Chazz?" Chazz turned to the side as he answered. "I'm going to find Banner's cat, I find him, I find Banner".

Roxas liked what Chazz said, it wasn't such a bad idea. But then again, looking for a cat in the middle of the night, might not be such a good idea. "I can see your logic there Chazz but, do you have any idea where Pharoah is?" And just after Roxas asked this question, they all heard a low sounding meow in the forest. "In there!" And with that, Chazz rushed into the trees. "Chazz! Wait Up!" But it was too late for Syrus to call him back.

Chazz was running quite far from the campfire, but he stopped running as he saw what he looking for. Pharaoh the cat. "There you are. Do you know where Banner is?" It was then that where the cat stood, there was a pair of square-lens glasses. The pair that Professor Banner always wears. "These are Banner's glasses!" Chazz heard a different sound coming in front of him, not a meow from Pharaoh like before. The sound came from a glowing mark that showed itself and disappeared a second later. "The Mark of Amnael!" Chazz followed the mark as it blinked multiple times and it stopped at a pile of clothes.

"And Banner's clothes!" Chazz picked a part of Banner's clothes and examined them. The mark of Amnael appeared once again, but it was at a much shorter distance. It disappeared, but it was replaced by a man walking towards Chazz. The man was covered all over with clothes and other accessories. His face was covered by a bandage, with a eye mask over it. The eye mask has light yellow lenses and it is coloured dark grey. The man had a light grey cloak and hood on and was wearing a black suit with long black straps. The man showed his duel disk, a standard Duel Academy duel disk coloured dark grey, almost silver.

"Are you the one who took Banner?" The man said nothing, but showed his duel disk more and let his deck get shuffled automatically. "So you want to duel instead? Fine! Let's duel!"

A couple of hundred yards away from Chazz, the slifer gang were looking for Chazz. As a former tactic, they decided not to split up and stay as a group in case this last shadow rider surrounds one of them. "Where could he have gone?" Roxas said to himself. Both Syrus and Chumley yelled out, "Chazz! Where are you?"

To the slifer gang, it seemed like hours when they began their search for Chazz, even though it has only been thirty minutes. In a sight of hope, something was glowing in Jaden's jean pocket. It was the shadow charm that helped Roxas duel against Camula. "Hey! It's glowing!" Chumley remarks. "Do you think?" Syrus had an idea on why it was glowing and it wasn't good. "Chazz is in trouble, guys!" Using the charm as a radar, the slifer gang ran their way to hopefully where Chazz might be.

After a few minutes of running, the glow on the charm seemed to have dimmed down. They looked around the area, seeing if they can find the black-haired duelist. "Chazz! Chazz, where are you?" They all walk around the area, looking for clues. Roxas was about to step on something, until a voice cried out. "Wait! Don't step on me!" Roxas tilted his right foot to the right and looked down. He saw Ojama Yellow crying his eyes out, looking scared at Roxas. "Oh! Sorry Ojama Yellow. I wasn't looking where I was going..." Roxas moved his head towards the others and called out, "Guys! I found Chazz's cards!"

Roxas added, "Ojama Yellow, do you know where Chazz is?" The yellow ojama was still crying his eyes out, but answered the question anyway. "That last shadow rider got him!" Roxas gasped, but gathered up Chazz's cards for safekeeping. "We'll get him, Yellow. Do you know where he went?" Ojama Yellow shook his head. "No! He disappeared!" Roxas sighed. 'Great, we got no idea where the last shadow rider is...'

From where the group was standing, they saw five bright pillars of light shooting up to the sky. They are quite big and were a bit muticoloured. They seemed to be around the whole island and not a part of it. "What are they?!" Chumley shouted out. Roxas studied them before saying, "Wait, aren't those the spirit gates?" Syrus counted them. "There's five of them!" Roxas counted the spirit keys lost to the ones remaining. "Oh, no..." Roxas looked at the group and said the bad news out loud. "Guys, me and Jaden are the last key bearers".

Everyone gasped at this new information. "Chazz lost his duel to the last shadow rider and since him, me and Jaden are the last key bearers..." Syrus gasps as he concluded in his brain, "Then all he needs to do is to defeat you two and he can unlock the Sacred Beast cards!" Roxas closed his eyes and clenched his hands. "That's not gonna happen... we are gonna defeat this guy... as a team. Jaden, do you mind if we tag duel this guy and finish him off once and for all?"

Jaden smiled. "I thought you never asked! Let's do it!" Roxas smiled too, but it was gone the second, as he asked a question. "But the question is where is he?" To answer Roxas' question, a mark showed itself in front of the group. "The Mark of Amnael!" The mark disappeared, then re-appeared a few feet forward, giving the slifer group a sign of 'follow me'. "Is it leading us somewhere?" Syrus questions out loud. "Well, I'm going to follow it. I'll see you guys there!" Everyone followed Roxas as he made a headstart.

It felt like twenty mintues to them, as the mark they followed stopped at a abandoned building. Roxas stopped, not because he was waiting for the other slifers to catch up, but he recognised the building. "Not again, I thought I was done with this place". He saw Jaden and the others behind him, catching their breaths. "H-how are you.. not out...of breath?" Roxas smiled at Syrus. "Secret". The mark went inside the Abandoned Dorm. "You ready for this, Jaden?"

Jaden nodded. "We got this". The slifer gang went inside and haven't found anything new. 'It makes sense that this shadow rider event comes to a close here, where it all started...' Roxas thought to himself. "Where do we go now?" Roxas looked at who said that, which was Chumley. "I've got no idea. Maybe we wait for the Mark of Amnael again? I mean, it lead all of us here, right?" Suddenly, Roxas heard another voice, but it wasn't a member of the slifer gang. "I hear something downstairs". The voice was soft and feminine and a duel spirit appeared in front of Roxas.

The duel spirit is a female hedgehog that has claret coloured fur, she has light brown eyes and a rose coloured dress on. As a weapon, she carries a burgandy coloured scythe in her right hand. 'Oh! Malice Rose!' She looked at Roxas with a slight smile. "Please, call me Rose". Roxas smiled for a second, but remembered Rose's words. Roxas looked for something on the ground that could lead to a basement. "What are you looking for Roxas?" Jaden asked this, but to answer Jaden's question, Roxas found a trapdoor covered in dust. He found a handle and with some effort, he lifted it up and the group saw stairs going down. "This".

The group went downstairs and they were welcomed by a short hallway that led to a huge area. "Woah... what is this place?" The area was big, it was big enough to have a duel in. At the back of the room were a couple of non-functioning machines, covered in dust. There wasn't much in the room except that, but Syrus found something interesting. "Hey, look at this!" Roxas, concentrating on the machines, looked at what Syrus found. What he saw made him look uncomfortable. It was brown coloured coffin with a gold pattern, standing upright. "A coffin?"

Roxas went close to it and had a go at opening the lid. It was hard for Roxas alone. "Need a hand guys, I wanna find out what's inside". All of them join in, Jaden on Roxas' side and Chumley and Syrus on the other. It became much easier as it seemed to be coming off slowly. Like a jar lid, the lid of the coffin fell off and the group were covered in dust. They coughed until most of the dust was gone and as the dust cleared up, they looked at what was inside. It was a mummified human with a pair of glasses on its face. "This is way too freaky!" Roxas widened his eyes at the sight and was shocked at the mummy for one thing:

The mummy looks like Professor Banner.

"It looks like Professor Banner". Jaden said. Roxas took a couple of steps back and added, "Guys, I think this was Professor Banner!" The slifer gang were shocked, when they sharply looked at Roxas for his remark. "You are correct, that is the one you call Professor Banner". All the slifers looked at who said that, out from the shadows, a figure walks towards them and sees them from a distance. Ojama Yellow appeared and went behind Roxas. "That's the duelist that beat Chazz!" Roxas looked at Ojama Yellow, then at the newcomer, understanding the situation a little bit. "Who are you and what have you done to Professor Banner?!"

"My name is Amnael and I am the last shadow rider". Everyone looked at Amnael confused. "Amnael? As in the mark of Amnael?" Syrus concluded out loud. "What happened to Chazz?" Amnael answered for Roxas and the slifer gang. "He is trapped inside this..." Amnael showed a book with similiar design to the coffin lid. "...my shadow charm, the Emerald Tablet. I have also dueled other students that have exceptionial talent, but they were unable to surpass my expectations". Jaden was concerned. "Did you do that to Banner?" Amnael shook his head a little. "No, I haven't done anything to Professor Banner. That mummy has been here for a long time, you know the saying, 'what lies at the bottom is like what lies at the top and what lies at the top is like what lies at the bottom'".

Amnael paused, but continued. "If you want to know the truth, you must accept a shadow duel with me, if you win, you will know the truth through my Emerald Tablet, which contains all the truths of the world.". Roxas narrowed his eyes. "This Emerald Tablet can only be held by the ultimate alchemist and you Jaden, will be my final test!" Syrus made a good point about Amnael. "He sounds like Professor Banner". Jaden narrowed his eyes a little and he is happy to duel Amnael. He runs towards him and shouts, "Bring it on, Amnael!" Jaden arms his academia duel disk and a little surprised, Roxas does too.

Roxas looked at Jaden's surprised look. "Why are you looking at me like that? I told you we'll be doing this together!" Roxas looks at Amnael and adds, "There you go Amnael, you could get two spirit keys for the price of one, if you beat both of us". Amnael grabbed his hood and pulled it down, revealing his long silver hair. "Let's see if you two can beat the ultimate alchemist". All of the duelists prepared their decks and they got re-shuffled. They all shouted out, "DUEL!" Except for Jaden who said, "Get your game on!"

Amnael's Turn

"There's no way I'll lose to an alchemist or a fake duelist like you!" Even though it was covered by his mask, Amnael gave a deep chuckle. "It's a shame that you think of alchemy that way Jaden, because you are about to experience the power of alchemy!" Amnael draws the card, Chaos Distill and activates it.

Chaos Distill - Continuous Spell

Any of your cards sent to the Graveyard are removed from play instead.

A wide machine appeared behind Amnael. "It looks like a distillery". Chumley commented and Syrus added, "Maybe it has something to do with alchemy". Amnael explained the spell and activates another card. "I also activate the spell, Steel Lamp".

Steel Lamp - Normal Spell

Activate only while you control a face-up "Chaos Distill". Special Summon 1 "Alchemy Beast - Salamandra the Steel" from your hand or Deck.

A flame lit up inside Chaos Distill. "With this, I can summon my first Alchemy Beast, Salamandra the Steel!" A ball of fire appeared and inside it is a dragon like creature made of steel. It roared as the ball of flame dispersed.

Alchemy Beast - Salamandra the Steel - ATK 500 DEF 500 LV3 Rock / Effect - FIRE

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except with "Steel Lamp". This card can attack your opponent directly.

"Although my alchemy beasts cannot be normal summoned, they have the ability to attack you directly. I also activate a few more spells, Bronze Scale and Lead Compass!"

Bronze Scale - Normal Spell

Activate only while you control a face-up "Chaos Distill". Special Summon 1 "Alchemy Beast - Ouroboros the Bronze" from your hand or Deck.

Lead Compass - Normal Spell

Activate only while you control a face-up "Chaos Distill". Special Summon 1 "Alchemy Beast - Leon the Lead" from your hand or Deck.

"With these spells, I can summon two new alchemy beasts! Ouroboros the Bronze and Leon the Lead!" A brown coloured serpent with six yellow eyes appeared, as well as a grey-coloured lion with a yellow mane.

Alchemy Beast - Ouroboros the Bronze - ATK 500 DEF 500 LV3 Rock / Effect - LIGHT

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except with "Bronze Scale". This card can attack your opponent directly.

Alchemy Beast - Leon the Lead - ATK 500 DEF 500 LV3 Rock / Effect - EARTH

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except with "Lead Compass". This card can attack your opponent directly.

"I end my turn by setting a card face-down. It's your turn now, Jaden".

Jaden's Turn

"Man, how did he summon three monsters so quickly?" Roxas looked at Jaden and was about to answer, but Amnael interrupted Roxas. "It is because your duel monsters' knowledge will do nothing against the power of my alchemy deck". Roxas shook his head. "Don't listen to him Jaden. We can do this!" Jaden nods at Roxas and draws Elemental Hero Bubbleman. "I summon Elemental Hero Bubbleman in attack mode!"

Elemental HERO Bubbleman - ATK 800 DEF 1200 LV4 Warrior / Effect - WATER

When this is the only card in your hand, you can treat this card's Summon as a Special Summon. When it is Normal Summoned, Flip Summoned, or Special Summoned, if there are no other cards on your side of the field, draw 2 cards from your Deck.

"Since Bubbleman is alone, I can draw two new cards". One of the two cards he drew was Bubble Blaster and he automatically uses it.

Bubble Blaster - Equip Spell

You can only equip this card to "Elemental Hero Bubbleman". Increase the ATK of the equipped monster by 800 points. If the equipped monster would be destroyed as a result of battle, destroy this card instead, and make the Battle Damage to the controller of the equipped monster 0.

Elemental HERO Bubbleman - ATK 1600

"Thanks to this, Bubbleman becomes stronger! Now Bubbleman, attack Salamandra the Steel with Bubble Shot!" Bubbleman used his new equipment to shoot bubbles at the steel monster. But Amnael shouts out, "It is useless to attack me! I activate my trap card, Elemental Absorber!" A small metallic machine was summoned beside Amnael.

Elemental Absorber - Continuous Trap

Remove from play 1 Monster Card in your hand to activate this card's effect. Your opponent's monsters that have the same Attribute(s) as the monster(s) removed by this effect cannot declare an attack.

Roxas looked at the new machine with worry. 'Uh oh... if that's what I think it is, then we might have a problem...' Amnael picked a card from his hand and placed it somewhere else on his body. "You see, with this new machine, I remove a monster from my hand from play, then I can prevent attacks from monsters of the same attribute as the removed monster. So by removing the monster Aqua Spirit, Elemental Absorber blocks your monster's attack". The attack got blocked by a wall of water.

Roxas' Turn

"Just as I thought, that card is gonna be a problem. Let's see if I can take it out!" Roxas said with confidence. Roxas' hand contained Jet, Eggman Plan 6, Cream, Mobian 1 Up, Sonic Dash Collect and the card he drew was a spell that was new to him. 'Well, I wasn't expecting this, but I guess I'll give this card and the rest of this hand a go...' "I think I'm gonna start with something a bit new! I start things off by activating the spell, Mobian 1 Up!"

Mobian 1 Up - Normal Spell

If your opponent controls a monster and you control no monsters, you can Special Summon 1 "Mobian" monster from your hand, Deck or Graveyard. The Special Summoned monster has its effect negated except for the speed counters that Special Summoned monster gains.

"With this, I can summon a mobian monster, but it has its effects negated. I choose my favourite winged creature, Cheese the Chao!" Cream's friend and companion flew out of Roxas' deck with a smile on his face.

Cheese - ATK 100 DEF 800 LV1 Winged-Beast / Tuner - WIND

This card is treated as a Mobian-Type Monster. When this card is Normal or Special Summoned to the field, this card gains 1 Speed Counter. Once per turn, by removing 1 Speed Counter, you can change the Battle Position of this card. If this effect was activated, during the End Phase of the turn you activated this effect, you can search for your Deck for a "Cream" card and add it to your hand. If "Cream" is on your side of the field, you can equip this card to "Cream".

"Now I can't leave Cheese on his own without his friend. Come on out, Cream!" As soon as Cream got summoned, she gave Cheese a big hug. Roxas smiled at the sight, but continued. "Sorry that I have to ruin this moment, but these two are gonna be used for a special summon! I tune the level 1 Cheese with the level 1 Cream, to synchro summon a new monster!" Jaden watched in amazement. "Wait, a new synchro monster?" Amnael looked at Roxas confused, it seemed there was something on his mind. The two mobians combined and formed a four-legged creature. "I synchro summon, Muttski in defense mode!"

Muttski - ATK 200 DEF 1000 LV2 Beast / Synchro / Tuner - EARTH

1 Tuner + 1 non-Tuner monster

This card is treated as a Mobian-Type Monster. When this card is Synchro Summoned, you can draw 1 card. During your opponent's Main Phase, you can Synchro Summon using this face-up card you control as a Synchro Material Monster.

"He may be no bark no bite, but he lets me draw another card. How sweet is that?" Roxas drew the card, Job Request. "And what an awesome card I drew! I activate the spell, Job Request!"

Job Request - Normal Spell

Pay 1000 Life Points. When you pay the cost, you can Special Summon "Vector", "Espio" and "Charmy Bee" to your side of the field. You cannot declare an attack or activate any Effect Monster's effects this turn.

"It may cost a chunk of my life points, but it's totally worth it as it summons the members of Team Chaotix! C'mon out guys!"

Espio - ATK 1300 DEF 1500 LV3 Reptile / Effect - EARTH

This card is treated as a Mobian-Type Monster. When this card is Normal or Special Summoned to the field, this card gains 1 Speed Counter. Once per turn, if this card is being attacked by an opponent's monster, you can remove 1 Speed Counter on Espio; when you do, banish this card until the end of the Battle Phase.

Vector - ATK 1800 DEF 1000 LV4 Reptile / Effect - WATER

This card is treated as a Mobian-Type Monster. When this card is Normal or Special Summoned to the field, this card gains 1 Speed Counter. Once per turn, by removing 1 Speed Counter, you can select 1 monster on your opponent's side of the field. That selected monster cannot change its battle position or declare an attack until your next Standby Phase.

Charmy Bee - ATK 100 DEF 700 LV1 Insect / Tuner - EARTH

This card is treated as a Mobian-Type Monster. When this card is Normal or Special Summoned to the field, this card gains 1 Speed Counter. Once per turn, by removing 1 Speed Counter, you can send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard to draw 1 card.

"But these guys won't be here long. Once again, I tune level 1 Charmy, level 3 Espio and level 4 Vector to synchro summon my ace, Sonic Boom Dragon!" Like before with Muttski, the three mobians combined to create a larger beast, a dark blue dragon to be exact.

Sonic Boom Dragon - ATK 2600 DEF 1800 LV8 Sc4 Dragon / Synchro / Pendulum / Effect - WIND

1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters

This card cannot be Special Summoned except from the Extra Deck. This card is treated as a Mobian-Type monster. When this card is Synchro or Special Summoned to the field, this card gains 3 Speed Counters. Once per turn, this card gains 1 Speed Counter (max 10). You can destroy a number of cards on the field by removing Speed Counters for each card you want to destroy. If this card has 2 or less Speed Counters, this card cannot declare an attack.

Jaden jumped and fist bumped the air with excitement. "Oh yeah! Go Roxas and beat him down!" Roxas nodded and smiled. "Before I start attacking those alchemy beasts of yours Amnael, I activate Sonic Boom's skill! By removing a number of speed counters, I can destroy a number of cards on the field! But for now, I remove one of his counters to destroy that problematic Elemental Absorber you rely on!" Sonic Boom Dragon flapped his wings to create a sonic boom that was aimed at the Elemental Absorber, it got destroyed into pieces as it made contact. "Next thing I'm gonna do is activate a favourite spell of mine! Sonic Dash Collect!"

Sonic Dash Collect - Normal Spell

Remove 1 Speed Counter from a "Mobian" monster. Draw two cards.

"By removing one of Sonic Boom's counters, I can draw two new cards!" Roxas drew the cards Sonic Dash and Elemental Hero Malice Rose. "Wow, my draws are good today! I can special summon this young female mobian as long as there's a mobian on my field. Let's see what you got Rose!"

Elemental Hero Mobian Malice Rose - ATK 1400 DEF 1200 LV4 Warrior / Effect - FIRE

This card is treated as a Mobian-Type Monster. This card can be Special Summoned from your hand if you have a Mobian-Type monster on the field. When this card is Normal or Special Summoned to the field, this card gains 1 Speed Counter. Once per turn, you can remove 1 Speed Counter on this card, if you do, you can Special Summon 1 "Mobian" monster from your hand, Deck or Graveyard that has a FIRE Attribute. This card gains ATK and DEF equal to the total number of "Mobian" monsters x 300 (Not including this card).

"Sonic Boom Dragon can't attack you since he has 2 or less speed counters, but that's all about to change! I activate the spell, Sonic Dash!"

"Now that I have three mobian monsters on my field, I can give Sonic Boom Dragon three more counters! Now the wait is over! Sonic Boom Dragon, attack Salamandra with Chaos Blast!" Sonic Boom Dragon shot out a green coloured flame onto the steel dragon. "Now it's your turn Rose! Attack that Lion with Rose Slash!" Rose jumped her way towards the grey lion and used her scythe to attack. After each attack, the mask that was on Amnael broke and got weaker with each hit.

"I then finish my turn by setting a face down and activating this last card for this turn. It's called Team Resistance and if you destroy one of my mobians, I can special summon a new one once per turn, that has less attack points as the one that got destroyed. Now after that devastating turn, it's your move, Amnael". Jaden looked amazed at Roxas' move, not only did he summon many monsters, but he used up most of his hand to bring out Roxas' ace and to turn this whole duel around. "Nice moves, Roxas!"

Team Resistance - Continuous Spell

Once per turn, if a "Mobian" Monster on your side of the field is destroyed by battle, you can Special Summon 1 "Mobian" monster from your Deck that has less ATK than the destroyed monster.

Amnael's Turn

Roxas smiled and gave Jaden a thumbs up, but soon disappeared as Amnael started his turn. "I activate the spell, White Process Albedo!"

White Process - Albedo - Normal Spell

Activate only if you control a face-up "Chaos Distill". Special Summon 1 "Golden Homunculus" from your hand or Deck.

"With this spell, I special summon one of my strongest monsters! Appear before me, Golden Homunculus!"

Golden Homunculus - ATK ? DEF ? LV6 Warrior / Effect - LIGHT

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This cannot be Special Summoned except with "White Process - Albedo". The ATK and DEF of this card are the number of your removed from play cards x 300.

"What's its attack points? They are unknown". Jaden questioned, but Amnael explained. "My monster gains attack and defense points for each card I have removed from play, multiplied by 300. I have a total of seven cards, so my monster has 2100 attack points!"

Golden Homunculus - ATK 2100

"Not good". Roxas looked at the monster Amnael summoned with worry. "I activate another spell card called Black Process, Negledo!"

Black Process - Negledo - Normal Spell

Activate only while you control a face-up "Chaos Distill" and you have no cards in your hand. Remove from play all face-up "Alchemy Beast" monsters you control. Draw 2 cards for each removed card.

"I remove Ouroborous from this duel to draw two cards". Jaden seemed confused as to why Amnael would get rid of his monsters for a few draws. "Why would you get rid of your own monsters?" Amnael explained. "This is the ritual of destruction and rebirth within alchemy, I activate my two new spells, Tin Spell Circle and Mercury Hourglass!"

Tin Spell Circle - Normal Spell

Activate only while you control a face-up "Chaos Distill". Special Summon 1 "Alchemy Beast - Aretos the Tin" from your hand or Deck.

Mercury Hourglass - Normal Spell

Activate only while you control a face-up "Chaos Distill". Special Summon 1 "Alchemy Beast - Ekenas the Mercury" from your hand or Deck.

"These cards let me special summon two more alchemy beasts to the field, Aretos the Tin and Ekenas the Mercury. Not only that, but these monsters can attack one of you directly!" Roxas gritted his teeth. "Not only that, you just made your golden golem stronger with those spells". If anyone saw it, Amnael smiled under his mask. "At least someone pays attention in class".

Alchemy Beast - Aretos the Tin - ATK 500 DEF 500 LV3 Rock / Effect - WIND

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except with "Tin Spell Circle". This card can attack your opponent directly.

Alchemy Beast - Ekenas the Mercury - ATK 500 DEF 500 LV3 Rock / Effect - WATER

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except with "Mercury Hourglass". This card can attack your opponent directly.

Golden Homunculus - ATK 3000

"Golden Homunculus, attack Roxas' dragon with Golden Harvest!" Golden spikes made its way towards Sonic Boom Dragon, but the attack got blocked somehow. "You're not getting my ace that easily! I activate the trap card, Eggman Plan 1!"

Eggman Plan 1 - Normal Trap

Activate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack. Negate the attack.

"Nice try Amnael, but it was for all for naught". Amnael cringed. "Ekenas and Aretos, attack Roxas directly!" Roxas covered with his arms, but the two attacks knocked him back a few feet. Everyone cried out, "Roxas!" But Roxas got up, despite the pain. "I'm alright guys".

Roxas - 2000

Jaden's Turn

"You won't be for long, I end my turn here". Roxas looked at Jaden. "I got your back Roxas, I summon Clayman and activate Mud Max!" Clayman sat on a go-kart that was designed for him.

Elemental HERO Clayman - ATK 800 DEF 2000 LV4 Warrior / Normal - EARTH

Mad Max - Equip Spell

Equip only to "Elemental Hero Clayman". It gains 300 ATK. When it is selected as an attack target, you can send this face-up card to the Graveyard to negate the attack. Then, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or below "Elemental Hero" monster from your hand.

Elemental HERO Clayman - ATK 1100

"Clayman, attack Ekenas!" Clayman used his kart to ram onto the alchemy beast, it becomes flat and quickly gets destroyed. "Bubbleman, take down that alchemy beast with your bubble blaster!" Using his blaster, Bubbleman shoots a blast of water at Eatos. The two attacks from the elemental heroes, increased the crack that is on Amnael's mask.

Amnael - 2700

Nobody seemed to have noticed a certain creature entering the room, it went near Syrus and Chumley and meowed at Amnael when his mask got cracked. Syrus heard the meow. "Pharoah?" Syrus bent down and was about to pick up Pharoah, but the cat slashed at Syrus' face and ran towards Amnael. "No Pharoah! That guy is dangerous!" Roxas narrowed his eyes a little, but watched the scene unfold. Pharaoh rubbed Amnael's legs and Chumley was confused. "Pharoah is never this nice with strangers". Jaden wondered a little at what Chumley said, but his eyes went wide as he had a realisation. "No... it can't be!" Amnael smiled and replied, "Oh it be". Amnael removed his mask and everyone except Amnael gasped at the sight.

Amnael's face looks exactly like Professor's Banner.

Even if he gasped, Roxas announced, "I figured something like that could happen. Seeing Pharoah like that just proved it for me". Roxas looked and pointed at the mummy on the left. "That's your original body, isn't it?" The rest of the slifer gang looked at Roxas and Amnael frequently, confused at Roxas' statement. "Yes, that is my original body. How did you know it was me, Roxas?" Roxas answered the question. "Let's just say that a bunch of friends of mine noticed something off with this duel. But I have a question, what is your method with staying alive?"

Amnael knelt down and petted Pharaoh. "I was brought back to this world through the power of alchemy. My flesh was destroyed many years ago, however my soul now resides in a body that I have created through the power of alchemy". Jaden gasps at this information, but Banner continues on. "With the new body, I wondered the world as an alchemist looking for the Philosopher's Stone". Everyone except Banner didn't know what this stone is. Jaden asked, "Philosopher's Stone? What's that?" Banner continued. "The Philosopher's Stone is a legendary stone sought by alchemists, it is said to turn any form of metal into gold and can grant eternal youth. Many people throughout history wanted to seek it and this lead to the creation of alchemy. I was ordered by someone to conduct research and this lead me to the powerful Sacred Beast cards".

"Mostly everything went well, but the tablet I was using for alchemy was cursed, giving me an incurable illness. Because of this, I entrusted my soul to a artifical life-form created through alchemy called a homunculus". Banner looked at his right hand and it seemed to have chipped a little. "This body is only temporary, but I have obtain the power of the Sacred Beast cards to extend my own life and to create the Philosopher's Stone". Jaden couldn't believe that Banner could decieve everyone like this. "Then everything we did together was all just lies?!" Roxas looked a little sad at Jaden. "Jaden..."

Roxas' Turn

Banner stood up. "We must resume the duel now, if you wish to release your friends, you must defeat me in a duel. This would be your final exam Jaden and Roxas. If you fail, you two as well as your friends will be used for my research". Roxas looked down, clenching his unoccupied hand and Jaden looked at Roxas. "Jaden, guys, I'm sorry that I have to do this..." Roxas looked up and with narrowed eyes, he looked angry at Banner. "...But I can't let anyone have the power of these Sacred Beast cards, even if I have to defeat someone we know. Jaden, I'm gonna finish this duel. I draw!"

Roxas drew the card, Shadow. Roxas smiled a little. "You may have created that body through alchemy, but I know a friend of mine who was created by a scientist. I sacrifice both Muttski and Malice Rose to summon Shadow the Hedgehog!"

Shadow - ATK 2500 DEF 1500 LV7 Beast / Effect - DARK

This card is treated as a Mobian-Type Monster. When this card is Normal or Special Summoned to the field, this card gains 2 Speed Counters. Once per turn, you can remove 1 Speed Counter on Shadow; when you do, you can decrease 1 of your opponent's monsters original ATK by 300. If this card is equipped with "Chaos Emerald", you can remove that card and 1 Speed Counter to add a Field Spell to your hand. If this card was Special Summoned by the effect of "Super Shadow", this card's ATK becomes 0 until your next Standby Phase.

"Now I activate Sonic Boom Dragon's ability once again! I'll remove one counter to destroy Golden Homunculus!" Once again, the dragon flapped his wings and made a sonic boom, destroying the golden golem. "Shadow, attack Banner with Chaos Spear!" Shadow held his right hand off and charged a spear made out of yellow coloured energy. Fully charged, Shadow launched a spear at Banner. "Sonic Boom will finish you! Attack Banner with Chaos Blast!" Sonic Boom Dragon flew up in the air and produced a ball of the yellow coloured energy that Shadow made. Once it was big enough, the dragon blasted the ball of chaos energy towards Banner.

Banner - 0

Banner knelt down in defeat. The tablet he had in his coat dropped near him and a jewel on the tablet glowed. As the slifer gang went closer to Banner, they noticed the glow from the jewel. The glow was dim, but bright enough to know something was happening. However, it seemed to glow for about five seconds, then dulled to a dark green jewel, reflecting at the room's lighting. "Well done, you two have passed. When I said that the stone can turn matter into gold, this was only a surface phenomenon. The true nature behind this was to change the hearts of others into nobler, purer things".

Banner grabbed his tablet. "Even if you two defeated the shadow riders, a new disaster will form. But you two can stop it". Banner gives Jaden his Emerald Tablet. "You are the only ones who can..." Banner wanted to continue to talk, but his body was crumbling away until he was nothing but dust. The body in the coffin also crumbles into dust. The slifer gang didn't see it, but Pharaoh the cat sniffed at the cloak Banner wore. A small orb of yellow light came out of it and Pharaoh, thinking it is his new prey, played and tried to catch the orb.

Syrus sighed. "I still can't believe Professor Banner was a shadow rider..." Jaden looked at Syrus adding, "Yeah, but all of the shadow riders are defeated now". Chumley seemed a little relived. "So, is it over?" Roxas shook his head. "No, it's not over yet. However, we'll be ready for whatever comes our way. Right Jaden?" Jaden smiled at Roxas, agreeing with him. Not noticed by anyone, Pharaoh managed to keep the orb still and swallowed it.

"Guys, should we go find the others and get them to safety?" Syrus forgot about that statement and Chumley said, "Yeah! We should go find everyone and see if they're okay". They all nodded and rushed out of the dorm, except for Roxas. He knelt down and noticed the cards Banner used in their duel. Roxas debated in his mind, whether he should pick them. "Hey Roxas, you coming bud?" Roxas looked at the slifer gang. "Just go, I'll catch up!" The three of them hesistated for a few seconds, but then left. As they left, Roxas looked back at the cards and picked them up. He gathered them and neated them up. Roxas placed the deck near a non-functional piece of machinery and said to himself, "Don't worry Banner, I'll help Jaden out and take down this new threat".
