Hey ya'll! So I little bit through this chapter I fast forward a month. They finally picked a wedding day, which is a ways away, so I want to start picking up the pace of the book so we can finally begin to focus on them getting ready to be a married couple and then actually being one. Oh and if you were wondering, Nathan is one of Maxon's cousins and Courtney, Daisy, and Clara are his cousins. You'll see why that's good to know as you read on.

I was woken up by someone shaking my shoulders.

"America, my dear, wake up," Maxon's voice said, sending shivers down my back. I opened my eyes sleepily, with a tired smile on my face.

"Morning," I said, my eyes still half shut.

I heard Maxon laugh softly and kissed my lips lightly. " It's far from morning, sweetheart. It's - " He checks his watch before looking back at me, "eight-thirty at night. And I just wanted to know if you wanted to see my mother. I really hate to wake you, but they're finally letting us see her. She's already awake." And just like that I was up.

Maxon led me to the infirmary and I immediately saw Amberly sitting up on her bed and I rushed to her.

"Amberly," I choked, my eyes filling with tears.

"Oh, now now. No crying, do you understand?" I nodded my head and she continued. "It's just a little wound. Nothing too serious."

"But they said-" but Maxon nudged me. I looked at him but he was shaking his head.

"They told me that I wouldn't be able to see you for a while," I changed quickly, before saying my previous thought. Apparently, Amberly didn't know about the current state of her arm or that it might not even heal.

"So I heard. But thankfully I'm awake. It doesn't even hurt, I don't want you to worry about me, honey. We still have a wedding to worry about. I was thinking sometime in May. The trees are always beautiful and blossomed by then. We could even have the ceremony outside..." She trailed off, lost in thought about my wedding, but I didn't mind. I was glad she was just there to actually talk about my wedding.

Maxon chuckled and looked at me. "May it is?" He asked me, with a look of amusement and love.

I glanced at Amberly's hopeful face, then back to Maxon. "May it is." I leaned in as he kissed me softly.

"Alright lovebirds, either you get out or you stand ten feet apart," King Clarkson charged in, going up to Amberly and kissing her on the forehead. He put a hand right where his lips touched.

"How are you feeling?" The King's voice was full of concern for his wife. Maxon and I looked at each other, silently agreeing to exit the room and give them their privacy.

"Listen, Amberly... The doctors have said..." That's all we could hear before we closed the door shut quietly behind us.

Maxon grabs my hand and pushed me against the wall. His lips find mine and I smile against his before kissing him back. He pulls apart and looked at me.

"What was that for?" I whispered, my cheeks flushed and my breathing rapid.

"That was in celebration of finally have a date to get married. This," he kissed me fast and hard, "is what I plan on continuing now in our room." I giggled as I gave in and let him lead me towards his room.

*** 1 month later ***

The last month has been full of wedding prep and days spent with Amberly, helping her to recover and trying to keep her occupied from the fact that she can still barely lift her arm. She's been up and walking since about two weeks ago, since the doctors thought that two weeks of bed rest was enough.

I picked up the sheet of paper that was sitting on my bed side table. Amberly had given it to me yesterday, adding to the ever-growing list of things that were accomplished for the wedding:

-Marlee: maid of honor

-Nathan: best man

-Courtney, Daisy, Clara: bridesmaids

-ivory carnations

-color theme: royal purple and ivory

-guest list: up to 206 guests

-dress picked out (trying it on once a month to get fit as necessary)

-save the date sent out (May 6)

And the list just kept going on. At this rate I'd be able to get married tomorrow. I sighed and placed the paper back on the desk before going over to Maxon's room. I knocked on the door connecting our rooms lightly, before opening it and peering in.

"Maaax," I whispered, feeling playful. "Where are yooooou?"

I entered the room, looking around for him. I heard a noise and then I heard "Boo!" shouted in my ear.

"Maxon!" I swatted him playfully, planting a kiss on his soft lips. "You scared me," I pouted.

"Is there anything I can do to make up for that, my dear?" He said, batting his lashes.

"Yeah, stop calling me my dear." I mumbled.

"Then what can I call you? Not America of course!" He jabbed me in the stomach, causing me to laugh. He sensed how ticklish I was and traced his finger up and down my ribs. I started squirming which caused him to laugh harder. In one second, he scooped me up into his arms and flung me against the bed.

"You still haven't answered me," he said, coming dangerously close to tickling me again.

"Mer?" My body froze and I thought back to Aspen. I quickly shook the thought away and said, "Nah, that's super old school. I want a good one."

"Fine, then I'll have to be creative," and then he started tickling me full on. I shrieked and tried pulling away but his grip on me was firm. I tried a different tactic and leaned in to kiss him instead, trying to distract him.

It worked. I saddled his hips and his fingers loosened their intensity on my stomach so I grabbed them and used it to my advantage on pushed them back so I could tickle him. He gasped against my mouth, trying to laugh, but my mouth muffling it.

Just then I heard a gasp that wasn't coming from Maxon, but from someone else. Surprised, I looked up to see Anne and Lucy standing there, mouths opening, their faces burning bright.

"Prince Maxon, Lady America." Anne finally spoke up. "I knocked and no one answered so we decided to come in. It was unlocked." She stuttered out, standing frozen in place, not knowing what to do. Lucy's mouth was still hanging open and I realized that the position I was in, on top of Maxon, was completely too much for them.

I immediately dispatched myself from Maxon and stood on the floor. Maxon quickly followed my lead, though there was at least five feet between us.

"Ladies, I am awfully sorry. We didn't hear the door. Please don't feel as if it were your fault." Maxon said apologetically, looking from Anne to Lucy, who had at least finally closed her mouth.

"Right. Well, we'll be on our way. Come along Lucy." She grabbed Lucy by the elbow and gently led her out of the room. As soon as they were gone I slumped against Maxon, exhausted.

"How embarrassing..." I muttered, my face beginning to turn back to its normal pale color, versus the red it was a minute ago.

"Let's forget about that now, they'll get over it. Now how about we go eat breakfast? I'm starving." He grinned and so did I.

We walked down the hallway and down the stairs in order to get to the dining room. Before we opened the doors, however, there was the most repugnant smell coming from who knows where. I dashed from where I was walking with Maxon, to the nearest bathroom I could find. Sprinting in, I emptied out everything that was in my stomach.

"America? What just happened? Are you alright?" I could hear Maxon coming into the bathroom and finding me bent over the toilet.

"Oh dear..." He said, looking at me. We locked eyes and I knew we were wondering the same thing.

There was a plus. A freaking plus on the freaking test. I didn't know if I had the courage to even walk out of the bathroom and face Maxon with this. Was I even ready for a commitment this large? And what was I supposed to do when it comes May and there's a huge bump sticking out of my belly? I started pacing, tears streaming down my face as I tried to process this. After a minute I heard a knock which caused me to jump. I crumpled to floor and burst out into loud, heart wrenching sobs. What we did was illegal? Could the prince and his fiancée get in trouble for something illegal.

"America!" Maxon said worriedly, dropping down to me, wrapping his arms around me. I grabbed him and held on to him for what seemed like eternity, until the sobbing subsided.

"Here," I croaked, pushing the test into his hands. His eyes widened and he just sat there, his mouth popped open.

"What do we do, Max?" I said desperately. We shouldn't have been fooling around. Now everyone's going to know... And what if we get in trouble?" Tears welled in my eyes again, but I didn't bother to brush them away.

Maxon took my face in his hands and looked at me sincerely. "Are you telling me you don't want this baby?"

"Of course I want this baby! Maybe not at this exact moment but I can't just... get rid of it," I whispered the last part. Maxon's shoulders sagged in relief and he helped me to my feet, pulling me into another hug.

"Well then I guess we're having a baby," Maxon breathed into my ear.

Yeah, I know, you all knew it was coming but I had to do it. What's a sassy romance like if they can't do something illegal? Well... hope you enjoyed! don't forget to R&R and all that fun stuff!
