He smells them long before they appear, new flowers pushing their buds up out of the melting snow. He smiles, takes the sight as the sign it is, and starts his journey home. He drives by the ocean on his way and inhales deeply. The water is turning less frigid; he can almost feel the fish and other animals coming to life again as the waves become brisker and warmer.

He only stops three times along the way, twice to get drinks and once to feed returning birds with a big grin on his face. He races the flocks he sees coming home, running his bike underneath them and almost wanting to salute them like he sometimes did as a child when they part ways. It's been years since he paid such attention to animals and Mother Nature, years since he felt this warm and alive again in his soul.

Logan's overjoyed that Spring's returning, but he knows the change in seasons has little to do with the changes in him. No, he owes this all to a woman - a very special woman, the woman he hopes one day to find the courage to ask to marry him when, after losing Mariko, he thought he'd never travel willingly down that path again. But she's changed that about him. She's changed almost everything about him, in big ways or small, and he's thankful for every change. He hasn't felt this carefree in years. Heck, - he snorts and grins even wider -, he's never felt this carefree!

He's in love, and it's Spring. He knows what that means and where he'll find the one he loves even before he arrives home. He parks his bike in front of the mansion and sits, watching her dancing in the clouds and spinning breezes with her delicate, chocolate fingers whose gentle touch he's longed for ever since they last parted. He doesn't know how long he watches, but he doesn't move until she looks down, smiles at him, and begins to ascend from the bright, blue skies like the Goddess she'll always be to him.

"'Ro." Just her name feels so good on his rough lips. She smiles and giggles - actually giggles -, and he feels his heart soaring in the clouds above as she takes flight into his arms. He holds her close, tightly against his heart, never wanting to let go or leave her ever again and wishing he hadn't had to go after Sabertooth again. Then she whisks them into the air, and he finds himself laughing, too!

It's Spring. He's in love, and the woman he loves loves him in return. She loves him, and she's a powerhouse who's already taken on Creed and won. He has no reason to fear to love this beautiful woman, and with the laughter she spurs goes the last frigid bits of the Winter that's stayed far too long in his heart. He used to love Winter, but Spring will be his season forever from now on.
