Thank you so much for the reviews! You are all so supportive! So this chapter is Elijah's point of view and it's mostly just him and Klaus but there is some Elejah towards the end. Don't worry after this chapter it will be mostly Elejah. Enjoy!
IMPORTANT: Katherine and Elena don't look like each other in this story.
Elijah's POV:
The house was quiet for once until my brothers stormed in; their faces covered in blood. There obviously was another fight today, if that's what you want to call it. The "fights" were pretty one sided; my brothers ferociously attacked the humans while they desperately tried to fight back using wooden stakes. They should know by now that those don't work on us. Kol and Klaus were the only ones who participated in those activities. Rebekah and I don't like to get involved in the fighting with the town. Finn left our family a long time ago; he always hated what we were. He fell in love with a girl named Sage and ran away. Oh love, it always seems to take the best people.
"Hello brother," Klaus stumbled into the room clearly drunk.
"I see you two treated yourselves to one too many drinks," I walked over to him and helped him sit down.
"The humans were all scared of some monster. There was no one there. Of course we had to compel the bartender to stay."
"It wouldn't exactly be an outing unless there was some compulsion involved would it?" I asked him jokingly.
"Oh brother you're such a downer. You never have any fun anymore. Why is that?" Klaus was always brutally honest when drunk.
"Nothing you need to know Klaus," I responded hoping he would leave me alone. Unfortunately it didn't work.
"What has caused you to become so grumpy? Is it a girl?"
"Yes," I admitted knowing he would never give up until he knew every detail.
"I knew it!" he proclaimed proud of himself, "what's her name?"
"She's just a girl," I answered.
"She isn't just any girl if she's captured your heart. Who is she?"
"Her name's Katherine," I told him, "and she doesn't love me back. She hates my kind. She despised me once she found out what I was."
"Wait that Katherine? The one you dated like ten years ago?" he nearly fell over in his chair laughing. I didn't really understand what was so funny.
"Yes that Katherine. I loved her, one doesn't just get over feelings like that easily."
"But it's been ten years!" he shouted.
"I didn't expect you to understand," I snapped at him, "what would you know about feelings? All you do is go out and see how many council members you can kill!"
"I know what's going on here." Klaus stated.
"What?" I asked.
"You haven't had any fun in a really long time. We just need to get you out!"
"And what did you have in mind?" I knew the answer to this wasn't going to be good.
"I hear there's a founder's party soon. All the prettiest girls in the town will be there! See what else is out there." He seemed to be very proud of this idea.
"Are you serious? Going to a founder's party? Are you crazy they'll try to kill you on the spot."
"Fortunately they can't kill me. Don't worry we'll wear masks. They'll never know who we are."
"You're serious about this aren't you?"
"Yes I am, now go get dressed we have a party to crash," he said getting up from his chair and walking out of the room. He was completely sober and was able to walk fine. He was faking it the whole time just to get information out of me.
"It's tonight?" I called after him but he was already upstairs.
I walked upstairs to my room to get ready. I knew this was a bad idea from the start. Something bad is going to happen, I could feel it but Klaus wouldn't let me skip it so I just ignored the feeling. I opened my closet to pull out one of the many suits I owned.
"Elijah are you ready yet?" Klaus asked impatiently from the other room.
"I'm ready," I said walking into his room.
He told me that the Salvatore brothers were also joining us along with Kol. He thought a big group might be better, more protection if something goes wrong, not that we need it.
The town was pretty empty since everyone was going to the party. I had no idea where it was, I was just following Klaus.
"We're here," he announced stopping in front of a house I knew all too well. It was the house of our enemy, the Gilberts.
"Are you joking?" I stopped walking and turned to stare at my brother.
"What are you talking about?" he pretended not to know.
"You know whose house this is."
"Yes I know…" he started to explain but I cut him off.
"I knew this was a bad idea from the start but now it's just plain stupid. What do you have to gain from crashing a party at their house?"
"Oh come on brother," he walked over to me, "it will be fun! It doesn't matter whose house it's at, no one will recognize us."
"I don't know this seems like a bad idea."
"Well we're going with or without you," Klaus said, "if you come than you can make sure we don't get out of line."
"Fine you win brother," I reluctantly put my mask on and walked into the party.
Mr. Gilbert didn't even realize who we were when we walked through the door. Instead he welcomed us with open arms like any other typical guest. Of course, we weren't exactly the typical guests. We had to wait for him to invite us in, but he did right away obviously not recognizing our true identities.
As soon as we entered the party, all of us scattered into different directions. Kol was off flirting with some girl while the Salvatores were hitting the bar. I couldn't find Klaus but he was probably talking up some girl.
I walked around aimlessly for what felt like the better part of the night trying to find something to interest me but I couldn't. Instead I found myself feeling lonelier than ever seeing all these happy couples together.
After what felt like hours, I was finally ready to go. Right when I turned to where I thought Kol was I saw her. She was just standing there not talking to anyone as if they didn't matter to her. Her chocolate brown hair fell down to her shoulders in loose curls and she was wearing a blue dress that complemented her body perfectly. Her beauty out shined every person in the room. I don't know what I was thinking, but all I knew is I had to met her.
