CHAPTER 6
Aang POV
"Hey Aang, what do you think?" Katara asked while lying on her bunk.
"About what?" I prompted her.
Katara looked at me confusingly. "You know… THEM?"
"Oh. Well, I don't really know. I mean, it's not like we can do anything about it… for now." I answered.
Sokka came out from the shower. "If a problem arises, we'll just kick their butts!"
"If we can." Katara said solemny.
"Don't be so negative, Katara! Of course we can!"
"We can't be sure of that. We never seen them in battle after all." I reminded him.
"They've also never seen us in battle before! So no worries, right? Anyway, I gotta head to the engine room. I promised Leo I'll help him in fixing the ship." Sokka said while hastily putting on an orange shirt and some kind of blue pants. "What's up with these clothes anyway? They're boring!"
"Wait a minute, if Leo's in the engine room, then who's driving the ship?" I asked, ignoring his question.
"Who knows? Maybe it's on autopilot or something." He said, rushing out the door.
Katara and I were left alone in the room.
"So, um… What's up?" I asked lamely to fill the awkward silence.
Katara raised one eyebrow at me. "Nothing much. But there's something I found at the bottom tier earlier. It looks like our things were transported to this world just like we did." She pointed to a dark corner of the room and sure enough, I could just barely see the outline of our bags.
"Why were you exploring? And why didn't you take me with you?" I asked, walking to our bags.
"Sorry Aang. I guess it just slipped out of my mind. I was searching for clues, you know, on how we got here in the first place." Katara answered.
"So did you found any?" I rummaged around my bag, trying to check if all my things were there.
"None at all. But it seems like our things went with us, so it's possible that other people, not just our things came with us."
I nodded silently, still exploring the insides of my bag. I found some spare clothes, beach towels, a box of soap, and a bottle of sunscreen- all the things you need for a trip to the beach. I reached more deeply into the bag. My hand came across a smooth, irregular shaped thing. I pulled it out and stared at it.
My mind went blank.
KATARA POV
I looked over to where Aang was sitting and found him immobile. That's unusual.
"Hey Aang! Don't you want to explore more? Come on!"
I got no reply.
Worriedly, I called out, "Aang? Is something wrong?" I walked over and patted his shoulder.
I quickly withdraw my hand. Aang;s skin was burning. Around me, the winds were picking up. Aang's tattoes were glowing dimly.
My brain was slow to process what was happening. I stared a Aang for a moment. Then I saw Appa'a whistle on the floor.
Oh no.
I flashbacked into our time in the dessert, back when Appa was missing. We are about to have a replay of that.
I shaked Aang. "God, no! Aang! Stop it!" I shaked him harder.
"Appa..." Aang was mumbing.
"This is not the time! We're in an enclosed space! You'll ruin the whole ship! Aang! Snap out of it!" I continued shaking him, but he continued mumbling. He started to levitate off the ground.
It's starting.
"HELP!"
Leo POV
Flying in a greek ship at an altitude of 35 000 feet would have been awesome, if our lives would not be ending in just a couple of days.
I sighed and tried not to think about it. It's best to stay positive in times like these.
Easier said than done.
To take my mind off things, I asked Festus to run a check on all our systems. I layed my head against the control panel and listened to the sound of Festus whirring and cracking.
Beep. Creek. Beep. Beep...
The morse code for danger.
Stupid! Why didn't I noticed something earlier. Air pressure was too great on the engine room, for some unknown reason. In just a few minutes, the engines would explode, then we would be crashing into earth.
Was Zeus messing with us Highly unlikely, one of his sons is on board. Gaea? Well, that's unlikely too. She has no power over air.
So that leaves, the Gaang. They must have turned on us!
I hurriedly pressed the danger button.
"Danger Alert! Everybody report to deck immediately!" I screamed over the intercom.
Piper and Jason were the first one to arrive.
"What happened!" Jason exclaimed. Piper looked around nervously.
"Nothing good. Air pressure in the engine room is too great. Engines are gonna explode in the next few minutes! Can't you do something about it?"
"On it!" Jason rushed downstairs.
"Where are the others?" Piper asked calmly.
"How should I know?" I panicked. I started pacing back and forth, forcing my brain gears to work. Come on Leo, think of a solution! Your beautiful masterpiece is about to be destroyed!
I heard footsteps behind me and I turned around sharply.
"What are you doing here?" I demanded.
A look of hurt flashed briefly across her eyes. "You said everybody, stupid!" she retorted.
"Oh," I sighed. "Sorry."
"No problem. Well, actually, there is a problem."
"Yes, Captain Obvious. Well that's technically wrong, since ou're not a..."
"As I was saying," Toph interrupted, "Aang is entering his Avatar State and is going to blow this ship apart in a few moments. We have to help Katara pull him into an open area to minimize damage."
So I'm right, partly. It's their fault but they didn't turn on us. I guess that's a good thing.
"So were are the others? Are they helping Katara?"
"We're right here." Percy sprinted up the stairs, Annabeth shortly behind.
"What happened?" Annabeth panted.
"Aang got into his Avatar State, whatever that is." Toph said."Let's just say that it's a very dangerous state." Toph said hurriedly. "And you won't want to get caught up in it. So we better get Aang out of this ship now."
"If you knew this all along, then why didn't you bring Aang out already?" Percy asked.
"Um, I'm not on earth. That means I can't see where Aang's room is."
"Oh, right."
"So where's Soka? How about Hazel and Frank?"
I replied. "Don't know. Who cares? You guys find Aang, I'll work on landing the ship. Go!"
I fumbled with the controls. "Alright Festus. It's time to make history and do the fastest landing ever."
Frank POV
Hazel and I are currently having the most romantic walk ever. I felt like nothing could destroy this moment together.
Not really.
That's because only 3 minutes had passe, and already we could hear trouble.
"Help! Anybody there! Help me move Aang!" shouted a voice that sounded very much like Katara. Probably it is Katara.
"Come on!" Hazel runned and pulled me towards the sound.
We found Katara in the 3rd room to the left. And with him was...
"Is that Aang? What happened to him?" My mouth opened so wide that it probably bore a hole in the floor and reached the earthen ground.
"No time to explain. You gotta help me move Aang! I can't budge him."
Aang was floating midair, maybe because there are huge gusts of wind lifting him up. It's like there's a freaking hurricane in here.
I stared into Aang's glowing eyes. "Um... I d-don't know. He looks kinda dangerous."
"Oh come on!" Hazel pushed me. We struggled against the winds. We tried to push Aang out the door, but he can't be budged.
All the time, Katara was talking to him, or cooing to be exact. "Calm down Aang. Everything's gonna be alright. We'll find Appa, don't worry. Now calm down, relax, and let's explore the boat and have some fun, huh?"
Who's Appa? The question quickly brushed my mind, but I can't be bothered right now. I focused all my attention on moving Aang.
"Ugh, it's no use." hazel exclaimed, throwing her hands up. "We have to make a plan. Frank, can't you transform into an animal with enormous strength?"
"There's an idea." I smiled at her. She looked at me with such trust, I can't disappoint her. Problem is, I can't think of a single animal that can move Aang. I don't think a bear or an elephant's strength can move Aang a centimeter.
"How about a dragon?" Katara suggested.
"Well, that could work, but I don't think I can. You see, I have to picture the animal in my head, and I don't think I can picture a real dragon."
"Right. Um..." Katara tapped her foot impatiently. "Hey, I can waterbend a dragon for you! Maybe you could use that to picture out a dragon."
"Wait, you've seen a dragon?" Hazel interrupted
"Not exactly. But I saw some very accurate pictures of them in my world." With that Katara draw water from the bag at her side. I never seen anyone bend before, so i was pretty amazed. Katara made some complicated gestures with her hands. Within a moment, A dragon made from water appeared in front of me.
I concentrated and tried to gather my thoughts. I focused on the dragon, thinking about being strong, fluid and majestic.
I felt my body contort, my muscles changing shape and my skin turning to scales. Before i knew it, I was a full size dragon. i was so big I can barely fit in the room. Hurriedly, I wrapped my tail around Aang. Ignoring the burning heat coming from Aang, I used all my strength to drag Aang with me.
In a minute, I was out on deck. But I think we were too late.
Below us, I've heard the engines explode. But aside from that, I heard somebody scream.
Shit. Somebody's down there.
I looked at Aang and felt a surge of hatred. Without thinking, I dropped him out of the ship, but he stayed floating at midair.
Around me, the floorboards were beginning to fly apart. Rocks flew towards Aang, destroying some parts of the deck in the process. Fire was starting to form around Aang, and I'm afraid he's gonna shoot us one by one with fireballs.
"AANG! CALM DOWN NOW! EVERYBODY'S GONNA GET HURT!" Katara yelled, tears streaming down her face. "YOU PROMISED ME I'LL NEVER SEE YOU IN THAT STATE AGAIN! YOU PROMISED!"
At the mention of the last statement, the glow in receded. In a blink of an eye, an unconcious Aang dropped towards Earth with alarming speed. If the fall didn't stop, he's gonna die.
"AANG!" Katara exclaimed. Before we could protest, she jumped after him.
