*peeks around corner shyly* ummm... I'm back? *dodges angry people* I'm Sorry! I kind of lost inspiration, but then I watched ROTG like fifeteen times in a row. Then I figured out where I was going with this story! So if you'll notice the summary has changed slightly! I added in a AU-ish thing! Because this story is going AU, slightly.

'As the body descends towards the darkness, the mind opens for the light.' – Amber Worden aka Lexi the Raven, Caged Trust, Broken Free (Trust is Earned, But Easily Broken)

'Darkness. That's the first thing I remember.'

Blue eyes stared at the golden box in shock as the glow stopped.

'It was dark, and it was cold. And I was scared.'

Hope filled his eyes again as the icy blue they had turned into thawed with happiness. He shut them with a small smile.

'But then I saw the moon. And it was so big and so bright, and it seemed to chase the darkness away.'

His hair seemed to thaw as the darkness that had tried to make him doubt his own strength was chased away. Unnoticed, the full moon above him brightened and a slither of a moonbeam shone down on the winter spirit.

'And when it did… I wasn't scared anymore.'

The courage he had lost when the Guardians turned away came back full force and his eyes shot open, glowing a beautiful blue with power.

They landed on the shivering form of Baby Tooth, "Did… Did you see that?" Jack asked, stumbling over the words. The small fairy shook her head and trilled softly as if the say 'of course not'. But that didn't stop Jack from grinning widely and picking her up with a small cheer.

"It was me! I had a family! I had a sister!" He blinked as realization hit him, "I saved her…" He drew in a quick breath and looked up, noticing for the first time the full moon shining down on him. "That's why you chose me. That's why I'm here… I-I'm a Guardian." He whispered in comprehension. The moon brightened as if answering with a 'of course'.

Baby Tooth tried to take off in flight but as her wings moved she found that she couldn't fly. A look of dawning horror filled both her face and the face of the boy holding her. "We have to get out of here." Jack said, spying the two halves of his broken staff laying a few feet away.

He picked the pieces up and frowned at the dead look they held. He put the two ends together and grit his teeth when they fell apart again. He stood up and with a determined air around him he put them back together and concentrated with all of his strength.

Baby Tooth watched in fascination as a spark of blue light shot of the staff. Her eyes widened and she started cheering as an icy blue light started to spread through the broken pieces and melded the two ends together. Jack grinned down at the little fairy and placed her gently in his hood.

He looked up at the fissure and a blue light glowed from his staff and from his eyes as the wind circled around him, "Let's go get Pitch." He said, an unknown power resonating from his voice as he leapt into the air and disappeared into the clouds, hollering over the wind to the one who brought back the winter child, "Lets go Baby Tooth! I owe you one!"

It took Jack most of the day to get back to Burgess and into Pitch's lair. Once there he leapt from cage to cage, opening them as the Baby Teeth inside twitter. He stopped when he noticed that the little fairies weren't flying away.

"Come on, let's go!" He urged, hoping what he thought was wrong was not so. But when they still didn't move and twittered sadly at him he frowned, "What's wrong?" He asked, listening to the twitter of the Baby Tooth in his hood, "None of you can fly?" He whispered.

Baby Tooth turned her purple and blue eyes over to the globe and gave a loud trill, gaining the winter spirit's attention. Jack looked over at the globe and gasped, "The lights…"

He grabbed the sides of the globe and watched all of them flicker out. "No… they're all going out! They need believers! What do I do…" Jack pressed his back against the wall and a few tears dripped down his face. A bright light shined on him and he looked up to see the moon shining through a crack.

'Believe in them… Believe in yourself… Don't give up hope. Don't give up wonder. Don't forget the memories of those you hold dear. Make your dreams become reality!' MIM's voice echoed in Jack's head as the white haired boy stood slowly.

"Believe in the Guardians…" He whispered before closing his eyes and taking a deep breath in, diving deep into his subconscious.

He had no clue what he was searching for but he was sure that he would know when he found it. Then, when he was about to give up he spotted a bright blue light and quickly moved towards it.

It was warm, yet cold at the same time. But what confused Jack the most was the cage erected around it. Jack flew around the cage, searching for a way in. When he found the lock a sudden awareness filled him, the light behind the cage was his trust.

So many had taken his trust and crushed it, so when it came down to it he had placed his trust in others inside a cage to protect himself. The hand shaped lock glowed a light blue as Jack breathed in deeply and placed his hand on it. Maybe it was time to believe that he could trust some one else again.

As the cage came open, belief rushed past him in bright blue streams and as his eyes opened outside of his subconscious, they glowed a brighter blue than ever and the blue stream erupted from his body and swirled around him.

The globe in front of him glowed the same blue as a bright blue light appeared next to the last golden one. Jack looked at his hands as a blue stream circled around it and smiled softly. He looked out of the corner of his eyes at the moon. "So… my center?" He asked, gesturing to the blue flowing around him. The moon almost seemed to chuckle as it blinked at him.

Jack looked over at the globe and saw the light shining near his own. "Jamie…" He whispered, and a determined look filled his face as he turned and sat Baby Tooth down on the floor. He looked down at her and she stared back up at him in shock at the change in him, "I'll be back." He said, before disappearing in a swirl of blue and wind.

Jamie was sitting up in bed, talking to an old stuffed rabbit, whispering, "Okay look, you and I are obviously at what they call a crossroads, so here's what's gonna happen..."

Jack appeared outside of Jamie's window in a swirl of wind and moved closer to look at the brown haired boy that now reminded him of the sister he'd saved.

The boy continued, "If it wasn't a dream and if you are real, then you have to prove it. Like right now." Jamie whispered before sitting back and waiting. He looked around hoping for a sign.

Jamie looked like he was getting desperate, "I've believe in you for a long time, okay? Like my whole life in fact. So you kinda owe me now." Jamie picked the rabbit up and stared closely at it, "You don't have to do much, just a little sign, just so I know. Anything… anything at all." He waited for a few more excruciating moments before frowning, "I knew it…" He whispered, letting the rabbit fall to the floor, the light fading from his eyes and disbelief started to set in.

Jack frowned and then smiled when a plan formed in his mind. He entered the window and touched the glass, watching as is frosted over and grinned as it caught Jamie's attention.

"What the…" The boy started as an invisible finger drew an Easter egg in the frost. "Huh?" He whispered as the same finger drew a frost bunny.

Jack smiled as he willed the bunny to come to life. He laughed as the rabbit caused Jamie's eyes to widen, "He's real." The boy whispered, laughing as he tried to catch the snow hare. As soon as his fingers touched it though, it burst into snowflakes.

Jamie's amazement turned to confusion as he caught a flake in his hand, "Snow?" He questioned. A cold flake landed on his nose and glowed the same blue as the streams around Jack. His eyes widened as a light of comprehension entered them.

"Jack Frost…" He whispered, causing Jack to stare at him as the spirit's heart started to beat faster.

"Did he just say…?" Jack started, moving back slightly as Jamie stood up on his bed.

"Jack Frost." His voice was steadier, as if he knew Jack was there, but still couldn't see him. Jack coughed in disbelief.

"He said it again. He said…" Tears started filling the winter sprites eyes, "You said…" He stopped when Jamie turned around.

Jamie's eyes widened when he saw the teenager in front of him, "Jack Frost…" Jamie whispered, shock filtering through his voice.

Jack's bright blue eyes were covered with unshed tears as he stuttered, "That's right! But- but that's me! Jack Frost! That's my name…" He trailed off and a tear almost fell from his eyes, 'You said my name!" He stated hoarsely.

Jamie's mouth dropped open as he stared at Jack. It took Jack a second to notice and his own mouth dropped slightly, "Wait, can you hear me?" He asked, eyes widening when Jamie nodded, "Can you see me?" His heart pounded again when Jamie nodded once more.

Jack laughed and whooped in excitement, "He sees me. He sees me!" He jumped up and down and then back flipped onto one of Jamie's shelves as the room was suddenly covered in snow.

Jamie just stood there in shock, "You just made it snow." He said, excitement growing.

Jack grinned, the small streams of blue spinning happily, "I know!"

Jamie atched as one of the tendrils gave a n upwards spiral, "In my room." He added.

"I know!" Jack said again, grinning even wider as he watched the brown haired kid touch one of his blue tendrils.

"You're real?" Jamie asked, not really to Jack but just to say it out loud.

Jack nodded excitedly, "Yeah! Who do you think brings you all the blizzards and snow days, and you remember when you went flying on that sled the other day?!" Jack said, gesturing wildly, arms waving around and the streams following them like he was a puppeteer.

"That was you?!" Jamie exclaimed, surprise that the sled ride of his life was caused by the teenaged spirit in front of him.

"That was me!" He yelled happily. Jamie grinned, "Cool!" Jack chuckled at him, his own grin widening, "I know right!?"

"But what about the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy I mean..." He trailed off, looking at the stuffed rabbit on the floor.

Jack grabbed it upo and put it in his hands, "Real, real, real! Every one of us is real!" He stated, gaining a surprised look from the boy.

"I knew it!" He shouted, quite loudly.

They both froze as Jamie's mom called from down the hall, "Jamie, who are you talking to?" She asked.

Jamie looked at Jack who shrugged at him, "Um… Jack Frost?" Jamie questioned, silently praying that she left it at that.

All he got in return was a small chuckle, "Okay. Don't stay up to late."

Jack and Jamie grinned at each other before turning and looking out the window as the sound of thunder and North's sleigh came from out the open window.

North tried to rein the reindeer in with the little bit of strength left in him, "Whoa, whoa, whoa…" He shouted out as the sleigh crash landed in front of Jamie's house. The reindeer broke away from the sleigh and ran into the woods. North and Tooth climbed from the wreck, both disheveled and looked very weak.

"Ah moi deti! Come back!" He stood and groaned as his back gave out. He used one of his swords as a crutch as Tooth came over.

"North! Are you okay?" She asked, wings down and standing on the ground because she couldn't fly any more.

"Is official. My powers are kaput." He stated, leaning heavily on the sword.

Jack chuckled from where he floated and closed his eyes, gathering two streams of blue in his hands. Tooth spotted him and gasped in shock.

"Look!" She cried out, watching as Jack's eyes opened to reveal twin blue orbs with no white. "Jack!" He landed on the ground in front of them and held out his hands, the twin streams shooting from them and hitting both of the Guardians in the chest.

At first both of them could only think bad thoughts, thinking that Jack had betrayed them. But then they noticed more power flowing through their cores and gasped when they looked back up at the winter spirit, whose eyes were back to normal.

"Jack!" Tooth exclaimed again, wings lifting up as she flew over to him and hugged him. Her eyes widened as she realized what she did and she backed off quickly, blushing and chuckling.

Jack chuckled, "You okay?" He asked. She nodded and they both watched as North walked closer.

"What are you doing here?" He asked, still uncomprehending just what had given the two of them their powers back.

Jack smiled, "Same as you." He stated, moving to the side as Jamie came out of his backyard, zipping up his coat.

"The last light…!" North breathed as Jamie stared at them in shock.

"Wow! It is you! I mean it is you! I knew it wasn't a dream." He exclaimed before turning to Jack and grinning as the winter spirit nodded.

North's eyes watered slightly as he said, "Jack! He sees you!" He whispered, proud of the two boys.

Jack put a protective hand on Jamie's shoulder. Jamie looked up at him and smiled as a tendril of blue spun around the two. Jack and North exchanged a look.

Jack's look turned into confusion as he realized he was missing someone, "Wait, but, where's Bunny?" He questioned, looking around, ready to gather another spiral for Bunny.

North sighed, "Losing Easter took its toll on all of us. Bunny most of all." He stated

Jack's face went pale as North lowered his head in sadness. Dark thoughts spiraled out of control only to be swiftly replaced by slight relief when Bunny appeared in the sleigh. If the situation wasn't so serious, Jack would have burst a stitch at the twitchy-nosed tiny bunny that used to be the huge Australian bunny from before.

But instead he whispered, "Oh...no..."

Jamie, though, had no qualms against chuckling as he walked up to Bunny, "That's the Easter Bunny?" He asked.

Bunnymund glared slightly at the brown haired child before huffing, "Now somebody sees me! I mean, where were you about an hour ago, mate?" He asked, gesturing madly.

Jamie ignored him and scratched Bunny under the chin, causing him to involuntarily thump his paw, "What happened to him? He used to be huge and cool! And now he's cute."

Bunny's eyes rolled back slightly," Oh that's good." He stopped and glared at Jack, batting Jamie's hands away, "Did you tell him to say that?" He hopped over to Jack and started to try to beat up on Jack's leg, "That's it! Let's go! Me and you! Come on!" He growled.

Jamie quickly stopped him, "No! Actually he told me you were real. Just when I started to think that maybe you weren't."

Bunny froze and peered up at the completely honest boy, 'Did I just hear him right? Frostbite made him believe in me? Even after all the horrible things I said?' "He made you believe? In me?" He asked, looking over to the frost spirit, finally noticing the differences in Jack's appearance.

He looked over just in time to get hit in the chest by a blue spiral as the blue magic spread through his body, making him grow again and regain his normal form. Bunny looked at his paws in shock and then at the grinning Jack.

They were startled out of their shock when thunder sounded again. They all looked up to see Pitch enveloped by dark clouds as his golden eyes narrowed and stared down at them from atop a writhing mass of Nightmare sand.

Jack turned to the others, the blue of pupils spreading over the white as he said, "Get Jamie out of here." His staff was gripped tightly in his hands as he rose into the air.

North called up to him, causing Jack to grin, "Be careful, Jack!" The winter sprite nodded to the Russian man and disappeared in a swirl of blue as the Guardians took Jamie to find shelter.

Pitch snarled as he spotted the white haired teen as said teen appeared right in front of him, "Jack Frost. Let's end this shall we!" He spat, sending the horde of his Nightmares at the boy.

Jack grinned at the Nightmare King and gathered a spiral of blue in his hands as his eyes glowed, "Yes… lets." He put his hand out in front of him and the spiral stopped the Nightmares.

Unfortunately, Jack didn't notice Pitch appear behind him and blast him away and knocked him from the sky

.Jamie and the Guardians do their best to avoid the patrolling Nightmares as they tried to find a safe place.

Bunny ran ahead, "Quick, this way this way!" He led them down an alley and cursed slightly at the dead end, "Dead end. Other way other way!"

Jack suddenly fell from the sky, landed on a dumpster, and fell limp to the ground. He groaned and watched in slight fascination as the blue tendrils healed the bruises that were forming.

"Jack!" Jamie shouted out in shock and they all rushed to help him to his feet.

"That was good try, Jack! A for effort!" North stated, patting him on the back.

"He caught me by surprise. Went behind my back to attack me…" He said, clutching the rib that popped back into place.

North and Tooth trade looks of concern when they hear the crack. Then, a menacing chuckle echoed through the alley. The Guardians keep a watchful eye as Nightmare shadows streaks across the alley.

"All this fuss over one little boy. And still he refuses to stop believing." Pitch's voice echoed through the alley.

A crack of thunder revealed the shadow of an approaching Nightmare as the sound of hooves clacking against the ground echoed from the opposite end of the alley.

"Very well. There are other ways to snuff out a light." They all watched as the shadow of Pitch started bursting to bulbs of the remaining lights in the alley.

Bunny glared at the Nightmares and stood in front of the others, one hand on his boomerang, "If you want him, you're gonna have to go through me!" He growled.

"That wont be hard." Pitch stated as he came into view, riding ontop of his favorite Nightmare, Onyx, an evil smile spread across his face, "I can't tell you how happy it made me to see you all like that. You looked awful. But then two little brats had to ruin it." Pitch glared at Jamie and Jack.

The Guardians gathered around Jamie, to shield him from whatever may come. Jack stood next to Jamie who looked up at the older boy, "Jack, I'm scared." He whispered.

Jack blinked in shock as he looked down at Jamie in realization. He heard his sister voice, saying the exact same words. Jack smiled slightly at the boy.

"I know, I know. But you're going to have to believe in me. And the Guardians. Can you do that?" He asked, watching as the others realized just what exactly Jack's center was.

Jamie nodded as Pitch came closer, "So what do you think, Jamie? Do you believe in the Boogiema..." A snowball hit Pitch in the face and Jamie laughed before slapping a hand over his mouth.

Jack smirked, "Now let's go get your friends."

Bye guys!
