Another chapter! did some changes that took me time to update it just now rather than the other day. I really hope that you would like it and leave some review about it.I would like to apologize if there are some grammar errors or even typo errors.

Chapter 12: "It's over"

Naru's P.O.V.

We finally found mai but by the time we arrived the spirit was already there and started to hurt mai. That cause her to have some more fresh wounds that is still bleeding, the blood won't stop on flowing causing us to notice the blood that is on the floor. Mai did her best on protecting herself by placing a protective barrier around her but it seems that its not strong enough to kepp the spirit on getting her. While the angry spirit place a visible wall that forms likes a square around them so that we won't be able to go near mai. Mai persued akashi on using the ritual that she made with akashi and okuda. The same ritual that she had given to bou-san, the ritual that will be needing a sacrifice. Knowing that she is the sacrifice, she still insisted akashi on using it and akashi just give in and started ordering us to stand in places and said that we will be his supposrt for this ritual. If we were able to support him then the burdern that the sacrifice will recieve will somehow lessen. The spirit started shouting and hurt mai all of a sudden, standing behind her i saw a lot of blood coming from mai since she was hit in her right shoulder.

"mai…"i said

"i'm fine naru just concentrate on this spirit, do your best to deny his existence" said mai

"eh?"

"the ritual needs you supporters as a deniers of the existence of this spirit, through denying his energy that is so strong will lessen...but that is only applicable if there are any supporters like all of you here to do it. akashi can easily exorcist this spirit once the ritual is over so focus on him, don't mind me cause i too will need to focus on the binding" she said and just go back on focusing on her binding. Hearing what she just said all of us did what she told us to do.
"No, NOOO! I MUST SUCCEED! I MUST HAVE THAT CHILD! MY CHILD! ARGHH!"

"sorry but no can do…now let us begin the ritual, mai...are you ready?" asked akashi. i saw the same ritual sign that mai have given to me and bou-san. then akashi step outside of it and started reciting an unfamilar ritual words that seems to be affecting spirit since he started shouting painfully.

"ah! okuda, tighten your binding" said mai to okuda. i then notice that mai is also hurting.

"mai, just a bit more…" said okuda

"AAAHHHH!" shouted the spirit and disappear. akashi finish the ritual by stepping of the sign and erase it.

"its done...hmnn…" said mai and collapse to me.

"mai, mai, mai!" i shouted.

"we need to get out of here...we need to take her to ayako-san since she's a doctor we can ask her if she is fine which i can see she's not" said okuda

"okuda, take her out of here, i need to cleanse this place and so as the spirits that were trap in here" said akashi

"there are other spirits in here?" asked bou-san

"yes, they are all woman that he violated and killed...hmnn...lin-san and bou-san can you help me find their body?"

"sure, but where are we going to find their body?"

"you'll find out." said akashi while going to mai and touch her head. "Mai, you're safe now, i did promise to get you right? so you can rest now" he said

"lets go oliver, we need to take her to the house" said okuda

"right then i'll carry her" i said and just carry mai like a princess and gone way out of the secret room underground. Before we reach the front door of the house we notice that there is a guy standing before it and doing nothing.

"uhmn...excuse me, how may i help you?" asked okuda to the guy

"ah, no i'm just lookin for mari- MARI! WHAT HAPPEN TO HER?" shouted the guy and suddenly run to my direction and hold mai's hand
"who are you? but anyway...okuda we need to take her to ayako now…" i said

"right, then...mr…"

"my name is Jin Smith"said the man who is still holding the right hand of mai

"then, Mr. Smith please follow us inside for now and i'll explain mai's condition" said okuda.

"ok" he said and i saw his worried face while still looking at mai. We arrived at the base and ayako by instinct as a doctor run to our direction immediately.

"What happen to her?!" she asked while i placed mai into a sofa.

"akashi decided to use the ritual since mai insisted on using it" i said

"Wait, i'll check on her, john, get my bag now! she has a lot of wounds that are still fresh, I need to immediately do the first aid treatment so that it will prevent her from having any inpection." Said ayako who now treating the wounds of mai. While ayako is treating mai's wound, i approach mr. Smith and ask why is currently looking at mai with concern eyes.

"Smith-san, may i ask why are you looking for mai?" I asked.

"i just came here looking for her and wanted to give her this envelope and maybe wanted to talk to her too." said mr. smith while showing me an envelope in his hand. and i just wonder who is he in mai's life and why in the world would he be so touchy on her.

"ayako-san, here's your bag" said john who gave the bag of ayako to her.

"thanks, now, masako, help me here a little, and john get me some water while naru help us here too" she said and we all do the task she told us. "mai, mai...this is going to be hurt a bit but bare with me ok?" she said to mai who is still unconcious.

"is she going to be ok?" asked akashi who just arrived with lin and okuda.

"yeah but we need to get her to the hospital for further examine, just this alone will not secure her health some of her wounds are deep that a first aid isn't enough,"

"that's going to be a bit of a problem…" said okuda

"what do you mean?" i asked

"well...you see after doing the ritual, akashi secures all corners of the house to purify it and no one can leave so that all of us will receive a purification in a way that the evil spirit's attach would be removed especially to the sacrifice"

"wait, no one can leave? until when?" asked bou-san

"until tomorrow morning" said akashi

"that won't do? we don't know mai might be in danger, i may be a doctor but without enough equipment, i can't secure mai's life is out of danger"said ayako

"*sigh*, move aside" said akashi who is is now in front of ayako

"what? your telling me to move aside?"

"yes, now please move, if you can't guarrantee her life then move"

"Wha-WHAT DID YOU SAY!" shouted ayako

"akashi, be nice will you, i'm sorry about that ayako-san but please do as he says for now, akashi may not look like it but he wants to make sure that mari is alright"said okuda

"FINE! " said ayako and she stand and move to where bou-san is right now.

Akashi kneel beside mai and hold her hand tight

"mai...hey...its over now, your safe now...didn't i promise you that i will keep you safe, so please lend me your power and let me heal some of your wounds...please...make me feel that you are fine" he said and then his left hand move unto her legs wherein mai had a wound. Little by little her wound started to disappear and then when its completely healed, his hand move to mai's face. which i find it strange since, mai doesn't have any wound on her face. "mai...rest now..we will keep you accompany until morning after that we will get you to the hospital, ok?" after that akashi stand.

"akashi...how was it?" asked okuda

"she's safe now but her other wounds that aren't deep are still there and some of it are still fresh so we still need to apply some first aid medicine so that it would not have any infection, i'll just rest for a while and okuda, can you stay here beside mai and call me when she wakes up" said akashi.

"ok, leave it to me, you know i won't leave her like this…"said okuda

"uhmnn...excuse me but can i ask what happened to mari?" asked Mr. smith

"a spirit attack her and or rather made her suffer way too much that push akashi to do the very ritual that he and mai made and maybe a bit of me too...that ritual could be dangerous if not careful if we have a human sacrifice and this time, we do and that is mai" said okuda

"then? how did it go? is she in danger?"

"nope, she's fine now, akashi did his best to save her and also with the help of the SPR, she's safe now, just a bit tired and her wounds are a lot than expected"

"*sigh* i see…"said mr. smith with a sign of relief on his face while staring at mai.

"what is your name again?"

"Jin Smith, i'm a..friend of Mari"

"really? why are you here? also you won't be able to go out of the house until morning since it's still in the middle of purification"

"its fine, it's just that i'm here i...i could give this to her…" he said still holding the envelope that looks like an invitation to a party."

"wait...you said your name is jin smith? right?" asked yasuhara

"yes, why?"

"then you're mai's ex-boyfriend?"

"that...that is...in the past already"

"ex-boyfriend?...then you're the reason why mai had to do that ritual" said okuda

"the ritual that she did in order to forget?" asked akashi

"yes…"

"what do you mean?"

"well...during the time that mai and i were still in paris and her family just announce her engagement to that man, she regret everything that happen that time, she want to forget and just move on but her heart can't take it, she cried every night after that party, kept on apologizing and saying your name. she didn't eat in almost a week and after that she made a ritual in order to forget but by the time that i arrive at her room she is already swimming in her own blood. I rush her into the nearest hospital and she lost a lot of blood, her parents was so worried but after a night of blood fusion, she was stable by then. I contacted akashi and told him about what happen and he said that he would talk to mai, and he did. she buried herself in work after that and then left just two months ago to go here but she found herself like this"

"she..cried? but why?...i was the one that was hurt that time" said smith-san having an expression of not believing what okuda is saying.

"do you think that mai isn't hurt? that she was fine with the decision that she made? that she would do something so reckless as to lost so much blood, she was in her worst part of her life during that time and you're going to say that she don't have the right to be hurt?!" shouted okuda.

"stop it okuda"said mai who just wake up. I immediately approach her and ask how she feels.

"Mai...how are you feeling?" I asked

"I'm fine naru, just that my whole body hurts but i'm still ok" she said.

"Mai, this will be the last time i would do such ritual to you, do you understand that?" Said akashi who is now at my back.

"Yes, mother..."

"Mai!"

"Hehehe, i understand..."

"Good..."he said then he go back to the sofa he was sitting in just a while ago.

"Hey, it's been a while jin" said mai to mr. Smith

"Hey, are you alright? You were badly hurt just now"he said

"Yeah, just bacame a bit reckless, but its nothing compare to the past"

"Can i speak with you mari...about the past..."

"Hmnn...guys...can you let us speak with each other...alone...tho its a bit impossible now but can you just..."

"We understand mai, we'll just go there and leave the two of you alone here so that you can talk with each other a bit privately" said ayako. We did as she have said and left mai and smith-san alone in the sofa that mai is currently resting while smith-san sits in front of her. We don't know what they are talking about but one thing is for sure, it will be about the past that they weren't able to end.

Mai's P.O.V.

Jin is in front of me once again, the man that made my heart beat after naru. The only man that i have accepted after being brokenhearted. He was the whole world of me during that time but i hurt him. I cause him pain and suffering and left him all alone. "Mari...i...i want to have a clean break-up with you" he said which pained my heart.

"I...i know, but can we clear something first and let me apologize to you"

"Mari, you don't have to..."

"No! I have to or else i can't move on, i...jin you are my whole world to me, you made me feel special and i know you know that i love you, i know it hurts that i have to leave you. It hurts me too and it was like i died the moment i said to you that i don't love you which is a lie"

"Mari...we can't...we no longer can bring back the past"

"I know, just listen to me"

"but i'm afraid that whatever it is that you will be saying will trigger me to want you back now that i finally able to move on and was about to forget about you"

"then, is it better to stop now?"

"yeah, i heard what you did after the day that you left me and had gone with your fiance, and speaking of him, where is he?"

"He is not here and no one in my family would allow him to see me nor i want to see him either"

"why? did something happen?"

"you could say that, well first of all both of us don't even love one another, we are just arrange to be married and it looks like that by the time that i'm starting to accepted him as my soon to be husband he had an affair with my cousin and kept it from me. He lied to me, he said that i'm the only one that he loves now, that he was the one who told his parents that he want me as his wife but it turns out to be that he was just using me to get my money since our company grown higher ever since, and that is the reason why i have to go here in japan but look what happen to me...heh, still a danger magnet"

"mari...I won't forgive him for breaking us apart, he was the reason why you have to leave me against your will right? I'm going to find him and beat him to death if i have too!"

"no...Jin stop...don't my family is protecting me, they won't let any harm come to me…besides i don't want you to be a murderer so please don't"

"But Mari! if it's not because of him, we will still be together! I still love you! it took me so long just to accept that you no longer belong to me, that you already belongs to him" he said as he place his hands unto my face while telling me those things that i wish we can still work things out.

"I know but still what's done is done and today what we will do is we have a clean break-up and not a make-up"

"Mari…"

"You will be engage right?"

"how…?"

"that envelope looks like an invitation to a party or something"

"well...you're right, i am here to give this to you...thinking that i could tell you that i have move on and have forgotten about you already but it looks like that i can no longer say that since even if i have to rotate the world, i still love you and only you but lisa change my heart for the better she made me so happy and that is why i decided to date her, she agreed and told me that she would help me forget about you"

"Maybe i am not the right girl for you that cause us to break up, maybe she was the one who would make you happy and if she is then i am happy that you have met her"

"Yes, that is why we decided to take our relationship to the next level, this engagement is just the first step but it won't be long until our marriage"

"Good for the two of you" i smiled

"What about you? What would you do?"

"I decided to call off the engagement with that liar and decided to move on, also like you i have found the man who will make me happy" i said as i look at naru's direction

"Him?"

"Yes, but it seems that i still need to wait since like me, he was engage to someone else"

"I see...so here mari, you better attend the engagement party, i want you to meet lisa"

"Sure, just hope that i'm in a good shape by that time"

"Hahaha! You must! Also mary and the others will be coming too so you better show up or else they would get angry at you"

"Hehehe, ok i'll try"

"Mari..."said jin as his hands hold mine

"Hmnn?"

"I just want to say that i still love you and that you are my everything back then but now, i already have lisa"

"I know, i love you too but we must move on and forget about the past...so lets break-up"

"Yes, we need this to clear out our past...just...we could still be friends right?"

"Of course we can" i said as my tears flow down from my eyes even thou i tried to stop but it still flow. I saw him turned sad and immediately transfer to the sofa that i was resting or rather sitting and begun to hug me.

"You know i'm weak to your tears"

"Hehe, this will be the last time that you would see this"

"I doubt that" he said as he hug me tightly. I hug back and just cried. I am now letting go of the man that i love. I love him but i will move on now, also naru is there now. He loves me and i also love him, it was mutual. we let go of each other's tight hug and he wipe my tears and i just smile and he smile too. Its over, all those painful past and also the case in this house.
