I cannot say that my mother's plan was not clever. It was full of her old tricks-deceiving, empowering and making everyone a fool. She straightly lied to the Salvatore Family only to get closer to George Lockwood. She focused deeply on the Salvatore Brothers. My mother took advantage of both of them-making them believe they had something significant with her to prevent the founding families to suspect anything. My mother's cruel nature was something I was used to and in her point of view it was all necessary.

Not to lie, I attempted to break away at least Damon from her deep spell. He protected her dearly, no matter what I tried.

"Damon, she's using you. You deserve better."

"I love her, Azura. I would do anything for her."

"Yes, but she is also having relations with your brother-at the same time. Open your eyes, Damon. You're better than this."

"What is she to you anyway? You say that she should be avoided at all costs-yet, you keep the closest."

"She is merely my friend-an old friend." Damon looked at me with disbelief, he knew it was something more, but he asked no more.

Damon, was a very close friend of mine, We talked for hours about his abusive father, the war and how he left the war to save his little brother. I sympathized with him, both with troubling family ties. He escaped through war and I, through Camp Half-Blood.

Once, he took me to the Falls. I dipped my feet into the cold water.

"Have you ever thought to run away and never come back?" Damon asked me.

"Many times. I have lost many of whom I loved. My mother has been uncaring. Sometimes, I wonder how easy it would be to start over, the weight it would lift of my chest."

"Why havenĀ“t you done it, then?"

"I always find a reason to come back, why don't you?"

"Stefan needs me. My father's abuse would destroy him like it did to me."

"I guess, someday, we'll gather the strength to leave this place."

"Someday, perhaps."

Later that evening, I went back with my mother to see Stefan departing with bite marks on his neck.

"Morning, Azura." He said.

"Good Morning, Mr Salvatore." I said as he passed by.

My mother was standing on the porch, most of all I was curious on why Stefan had come to visit.

"Hello Mother. Why was Mr. Salvatore at our home?"

"None of your business, darling."

"Of course it is of my concern. I agreed to help you on this mad quest. I deserve honesty especially from you."

"Mr. Salvatore and I have a bond, which will be a great aid to decrease suspicions from The Council."

I scoffed, "Leaving your bite marks on his neck will do the contrary, Mother! Do not forget it is your fault the council is after us. If you hadn't turned those civilians! You're getting sloppy mother!

"My plan is working. I will confront George tomorrow evening at the ball. Then we leave." She said quickly. I knew that things were worse than we made it seem. Now that they discovered that vervain burned our skin and repelled our compulsion, our strategies have been greatly reduced. Also the Gilbert family hyas build a compass able to detect any vampire being. We are being hunted by every Mystic Falls's citizen.

"We both know it is not as easy. Be warned that if things do not turned out as planned, I'll leave back to Camp Half-Blood at that instant."

Later that afternoon, Katherine visited Stefan at the manor. My mother had developed feelings for him, which were reflected upon the frequent visitations they had on one another, However, poor Stefan Salvatore did not reciprocate these exact feelings. Yes, he liked her, but he was frightened of heer vampire self.

Damon was differed so much from his younger brother. He was loyal to keeping our secret. I grew to trust him and eventually told him my life story.

"Katherine is actually my mother" I explained.

"But you're nearly identical, I would have assumed you were sisters.."

"Hard to believe, I know. I'm a doppelganger. It runs in my family's blood. Every few generations in out bloodline, someone with our physical characteristics is born."

"Then why do you have blue eyes?"

"My father is Aeolus, the greek god."

"Is that true, too? I can't believe my eyes. I'm speaking to royalty." He bowed playfully at me, "This is truy astounding, why did you not tell me this before?"

"This information is really dangerous. My mother and I have many enemies. Imagine living for hundreds of years-you meet many people, some are bound to not be so friendly. That is why we came to Mystic Falls, we're running for our lives."

"That must be a difficult life," Damon sincerely said. "I thought the war and my father were an unbearable curse-but I can't imagine how terrible it must be to live running away from others."

"I manage," I said, "After centuries of living like that, you find a few scapegoats-like this place." I looked at the water of the falls, breeze cooled my face.

"It's beautiful, isn't it? It's amazing that the hidden wonders of the world are the best." At that instant I thought of Camp Half-Blood, with Poseidon's lake full of life and the cliff where the air always blowed.

"Maybe, I can take you to see them. You can join me, let's run together and find all the hidden wonders of the world. And your brother can come too."

"Azura, I cannot accept this offer. I'm human-I'm no where near this magical world filled with vampires and Greek Gods."

"How about if you ever become part of that world, you contact me? And it won't matter the time that goes by-because you will instantly remember when it happens."

"That sounds wonderful to me." He agreed.

Then I looked straight into his sky blue eyes. My eyes shined with hope to see the day I would meet him again. "Damon Salvatore, this is Azura Petrova. You will remember this exact conversation and the Camp Half- Blood location, when you become part of my world. It is your choice to come, but remember I love you."

That same night Katherine fell unconscious after drinking Stefan's infected blood. She was taken captive and taken to the Fell Church to be burned alive and so I took off.. I got on my carriage and left Mystic Falls. My mother had obviously survived. After all we're survivors, that is why I kept my word on leaving. Until next time. Now, I must find a way to kill time.
