Alright, Let's just finish this story. I'm going up the latter with my stories.

And sorry for not updating. I just never found the time or inspiration to finish this story (or the other). This will probably be the last chapter. I want to get started on my new story Different.

Don't worry, I haven't given up Negaishipping. You all keep up this fandom.

Alright, enough talk.

Battle On

She sent out her first Pokemon. Hydreigon.

"Iris-"

"SHUT UP!"

Ash jumped, startled. He regained his composure. "Iris, whatever's bothering you, just tell me. I can help you."

Iris smirked. "Help me? Ash, look where I am. I think I've gone plenty far without you helping me in any way. Now, send out your Pokemon."

Ash was shocked. What had he done that could make his friend so angry? Nonetheless, this was still a battle. "Krookodile, go!"

"Krook!"

The two Champion trainers locked eyes.

This would not end well.

-(Time skip!)

"No! Hydreigon!"

The dark-dragon Pokemon was down for the count. But not before defeating Krookodile.

"Hera!"

"Nice job Heracross."

Iris knew full well that this would not be an easy battle. As much of a little kid Ash was, she knew that the Kanto league was the most challenging. Unova was last...that is, until Iris showed up.

She grabbed her next Pokeball. "Archeops, to battle!"

"Heracross, use double edge!"

"Dodge and then rock throw!"

The ancient bird successfully dodged and got a direct hit on Heracross.

"Heracross! Get up and use Megahorn!"

"Giga Impact!"

Archeops managed to get the upperhand and knocked out Heracross.

Ash knew that Heracross was down and called back his Pokemon. His next Pokemon was-

"Go, Charizard!"

"Rooar!"

"Seismis Toss!" Archeops, unable to move do to using Giga Impact, was hit by the strong move.

It fainted.

Iris didn't even flinch. "Return." The Pokemon went back to its pokeball. Iris was breathing hard.

Ash realized he was as well.

"Iris, please-"

"SHUT UP! YOU DON'T DESERVE TO TALK TO ME!"

"I can help you! Just please tell me what's wrong!"

"You want me to tell you?" Iris laughed. "You want to know what's wrong? Let me ask you. If you had a friend who you became close with and he left saying that he'd be back, you'd believe him, right? After all you've been through, he has to be keeping his word."

Ash still wasn't sure.

Iris continued. "But then, what if you only saw him once after that. And on accident? In another region? What if you didn't see him or hear from him for 3 years?"

Ash was slowly put everything together. Why did this seem so-

Then it hit him.

Oh God.

He had done this to Iris. He realized that if he had really talked to Iris, he would've known that Iris was Champion. In fact, he realized that for a friend to really not know that their friend had reached the greatest goal for a Pokemon trainer, meant that they were completely disloyal. The one thing he promised not to be. How many Pokemon and people had he left behind? He tried to count.

There were too many.

Iris, seeing the realization in Ash's eyes, said "So, you figured it out. You always give the best to a person or Pokemon. But unless their within your reach, you just ignore them, like they don't exist."

"Iris. Please, forgive me. I just-"

"SHUT UP! I DON'T NEED YOUR APOLOGIES!" Iris raged. "Go, Druddigon!"

The battle ensued.

But neither trainer had noticed that a few pillars had broke and fell to ground.

"Lapras, go!"

Ash had managed to beat both Iris' Druddigon and Aggron. But now he was at a type disadvantage, he's have to play it smart.

"Charizard, Sunny Day, quick!" The sunlight became harsh and bright.

"Lapras, Hydro Pump!"

The move made a direct hit but was weakened by the harsh sunlight.

"Charizard, Flare Blitz!"

"Waterfall!"

Both moves collided. Although with increased power, Charizard had reached its limit and took damage from recoil.

Lapras had failed to make contact and was instantly KO'd.

Both Pokemon fainted.

They called back their Pokemon.

Iris wasn't worried. No doubt Charizard had surprised her with his strength. But Iris knew that her last Pokemon would be able to sweep everything.

Ash knew he had to win. If he didn't...

"Go, Infernape!"

"Ape!"

Iris looked Ash straight in the eye. "You better tell me right now."

Ash knew instantly what she meant. "Iris I'm sorry. I-I don't know why I ignored you and everyone else. This was wrong. I-I just-" Ash broke. "I just want you back!"

"...Haxorus, finish this."

The Haxorus that came out was bigger than the normal and radiated power.

Ash realized who this was. "...He's grown."

"He certainly has."

This was the same little Axew that Ash had traveled with a long time ago. It used to have eyes full of innocence.

Now its eyes were full of hate.

"HAXX!"

The battle ensued...

But was over in a instant after the first move. By Haxorus.

Infernape was thrown back by an extremely powerful Dragon Claw.

"You won't be able to beat Haxorus. I've trained it to perfection", Iris told Ash.

"Iris-" But he was cut off by a huge boulder, slamming down. Ash realized that the building was falling apart. "Iris! We have to get out of here!"

"...No"

"What?"

"We are going to finish this battle. If you try to leave, I will personally keep you from leaving... at any cost."

"...Fine." There was no point in arguing. This battle had escalated into something bigger. "Go, Sceptile."

"Scep!"

The battle ensued.

"...Thank you Sceptile."

The grass Pokemon had managed to get some decent damage on Haxorus but was still defeated. And during this time, the whole building had started to crumble.

It was now or never.

"Pikachu, go"

"Pika!"

Rocks were falling. Alarms blared. Random explosions everywhere. But neither trainer lost there stance.

Two old friends, humans and Pokemon alike, were about to wage the ultimate battle.

"It's time" Iris said quietly.

Ash didn't answer.

"GO!" Both trainers yelled simultaneously.

Pikachu got many hits onto Haxorus. Haxorus only got one. But the power difference made that one hit enough to almost knock out Pikachu.

Both Pokemon were at there last stand.

The trainers locked eyes.

"Iris. Please. Just tell me you forgive me."

"...Dragon Rush"

"Volt Tackle"

The two Pokemon collided. The battle was over.

"...I forgive you Ash."

"I love you Iris"

The building crumbled.

Cilan was angry. Why would they do this to him? He was there friend wasn't he?

But he couldn't stay angry. His two best friends had died, found holding eachother's hand, Pokemon loyalty standing next to them.

So many people had come. The same went for Pokemon. Everyone was so depressed, that they didn't even wince when Legendaries showed up.

Many words were spoken.

Misty was angry, holding back tears and fists.

Brock was still, not wanting to accept what had happened.

Tracy could not stop sketching. It was the only thing that could keep him from crying.

May tried to stay strong for Max and Max tried to do the same. Neither succeeded and settled with just hugging eachother.

Dawn had it the worse. She kept on trying to dig back up the graves and was screaming. Then she went into a calm trance. She settled with crying herself to sleep.

Cilan was still in shock at how many people had known Ash Ketchum and how many lives Ash had made a difference in. But he knew that Ash had probably ignored good portion of them.

He said this when it was his turn to speak. People looked like the wanted to argue, but they all knew he was right.

"But, although Ash did this, he always would try to do the right thing" Cilan continued. The crowd was in agreement. "And I know that many of you are here for Ash, but... My friend Iris was like Ash as well. Less dense though." This earned a sad laugh from the crowd.

"Even though the bodies might have been a coincidence, I believe that Ash and Iris had died, truly loving each other. And even if that may not be enough to soothe anyone, I want everyone to just be thankful, that Ash finally experienced love. He deserved it." With that, Cilan left the podium.

He remembered the bodies and smiled.

Ash and Iris had died, enduring the pain along with their Pokemon, in order to die in eachother's embrace.

Kissing.

Cilan walked around. Talking with everyone.

Pokemon walked as well, both wild and captured, being held by people whether they were their trainers or not.

Cilan thought that nothing could bring any hope. Ash was bigger than anyone thought he was. Cilan knew everyone would leave here, never the same.

But he was wrong.

Because just then, a Pichu and Axew appeared.

The Pichu was carrying the Axew, a confident and defensive look in its eyes. There was ash all over his body.

The Axew seemed a little more scared, but ready to fight anyone who would hurt her friend. There was a flower in on its head. An iris flower to be exact.

Ash...

Iris...

There was a new hope.

Dawn was the first to approach. The Pokemon tensed, but slowly relaxed as Dawn pet and soothed them.

Cilan smiled. Everyone slowly approached the Pokemon.

There was hope.

Live on Ash and Iris' love for Pokemon.

That was the Wishes of the Champions.

Thank you for reading. Apologies for this sad ending. I just had to write it.

But, if you're reading this, I want you to know to keep Negaishipping alive. Seriously, there's barely any. Unova is an awesome region.

And if you're looking for a happy Negaishipping fic, it will happen in my story, "Always".

Negaiship on.
