For Nayla. Because she said HagBeak and my immediate reaction was "awww." :D

Your cabin seems so [empty] without him.

And you know it's for the best but still,

he was Beaky

and he was yours

and now he's gone.

You understood each other,

h/a/l/v/e/s of a whole that didn't quite make sense,

not belonging anywhere.

So you made a home for him.

(And all the others but you knew from the start that he was special.)

He was feathered withers and bright fiery eyes

that could bring even a (half)giant to his knees.

Every time.

He was too magnificent for words

and they were never your forte anyway.

They always came out at the wrong time.

It was always "Too loud, Hagrid"

or

"I shouldn't have said that."

but he never really cared

which you thought was rather nice.

And you were always .:careful:. not to offend.

You learned that ((the hard way)).

You always learn things the hard way.

And you hope that wherever he is,

he knows you're /thinking/ of him,

that you only ever wanted for him

to be happy.

And you hope that maybe, just maybe,

he's thinking of you too.
