A/N: Okay so this is a short one-shot based on Monday's episode of Hawaii Five-0, I know some people hate Catherine and hate that Steve forgave her especially with his trust issues but I think the fact that he did tells us he is healing from everything that happened in his past, no matter how slowly. Therefore, this is basically a look at what our sexy Hawaiian hunk was thinking when he forgave his "Friends-with-benefits" Girlfriend.

Pairing: Steve McGarrett and Catherine Rollins - Hawaii Five-0

Disclaimer: I do not own Hawaii Five-0 or any of the characters, (Feels like I ripped my heart out saying that)

Forgiven

She stood there looking out onto the water. She looked beautiful, at ease, when in fact he could tell that she was the complete opposite. Steve had never yelled at her like that. Sure, at the time he thought that she had deserved it, he was furious. She should have told him, it involved his mother for god sake, but he also understood why she didn't. She was honouring a promise that she had made. He knew that even though he has the worst possible trust issues in the world, her honouring a promise is something that he respects. Something that he can relate too. Nevertheless, looking at her now made him wonder how he could have ever been so mad with such an amazing person.

Wait. That's right, he couldn't.

If he were able to stay mad at her, he would not be walking towards her to apologize for being such an asshole.

He started to walk towards her, slowly but surely, he made his way over to her. He could tell that she had been crying he had made her cry. She was looking at him out of the corner of her eyes and he saw her body shift slightly in his direction. He didn't say a word as he approached her but the look on his face told her everything she needed to know. At least for the time being.

Catherine's arms were crossed against her chest and the breeze was carrying her hair behind her. She looked at him with her big, brown tear-filled eyes.

"I am so sorry, I should have told you." She said, her eyes asking for forgiveness.

Catherine didn't know what to expect from him, but it was far from what happened next.

Placing his hand against the base of her neck he leaned in to capture her lips against his, although unexpected, she responded to his touch, placing her own hand on his cheek and closing her eyes. He pulled away after a few moments. The kiss was soft, but it told all that she needed to know.

She was forgiven.

Steve looked into her eyes and knew automatically that something was still bugging her; she still had not forgiven herself. He pulled her against his body and just held her. She felt the tears begin to fall from her eyes and buried her head into his shirt. He tightened his grip on his girlfriend and breathed in her scent. Pina-colada. He felt the sobs begin to wrack her body and he sighed.

"I'm sorry Cath, I was an ass, I should have trust your decision. I do trust your decision don't cry, please" He apologized and she looked up at him with an amused look.

"Wait, you are apologizing to me? For something you had every right to do?" She asked, chuckling humourlessly.

"I had no right Catherine, no man ever has any right to make a women cry." He murmured and he felt her body slam into his, less gentle than before.

"Thank you" she whispered as he picked her up and carried her back to his truck. He kissed her as the tears still ran down her face, but this time they weren't because she was upset.

Hope you enjoyed, I had to write it.
