BP: Hi guys, it's been such a long time since I wrote POT fics. But this isn't a "new" fic, but rather an old one where I decided to rewrite it completely. I'm sorry for those who liked the old fic, but I can't see it going anywhere. I replaced the plot instead of making a new one since I wish to keep the title and it is not exactly rewritten.

The phone rang in a small branch office somewhere in Tokyo. A pale hand reached out, and picked up the phone. The girl yawned, shaking her long black locks behind her and put the earpiece to her phone. She was tired from her detective case in Japan, identifying the killer of a wealthy family case.

All she wanted was some sleep so that she could go back to America tomorrow and hoped whoever was on the line would get their business over with. After all, crime never waited for nobody, although some of the cases she took on were quite bizarre. She never let that faze her though, having her fair share of the supernatural from the school she attended. Allegedly, it was located in America, but the girl knew better.

She sipped her tea, and said, "Hello? Legend & Co. Law Offices, Blake speaking."

"Blake? Is that you?" Blake nearly jumped out in excitement, recognizing the voice. It's her maternal cousin Ryoma. They had lost contact when Ryoma went to Japan to get his education there, but somehow, he must have gotten a hold of her number. She thought with that skill, he would make a good detective.

Blake let a small smile grace her features. "Yeah, it's me, Ryoma. How…" She trailed off when she heard sobbing in the background. She tightened her grip on the phone, as if it was a lifeline. Who had hurt her cousin like that?

"Ryo, what's wrong?" Blake sounded concerned. There was more sobbing, and she heard "Lovers…escape…"

What was he saying? Was he talking about his five other lovers he had been dating for the past 2 years? Blake took a deep breath, and told Ryoma to calm down.

On the other side of the phone, Ryoma was hyperventilating while trying to calm down as told by his older cousin.

Once he had done that, Blake said, "Now, tell me everything." She sipped her tea while waiting for Ryoma to answer.

'I need to add more sugar.' Blake thought, adding one teaspoon of sugar and stirring it into the tea. "Well…." Ryoma said hesitantly, still sniffing, "It was like this…"

It turned out, he was currently treated like a toy. His so-called lovers had locked him in a small room, and only used him for sex, or when they need a 'venting bag' something for them to vent on whenever they feel frustrated, angry, well, all the negative emotions.

They never treated him like a real lover would, and never gave him anything during special occasions. They never did anything with him, or even if he did ask, they would just make up excuses, like they have an appointment, or they have work, etc. Worse, they never let him out of the mansion!

It's almost as if he was in prison, instead of in his lover's home.

Blake dropped her cup of tea, which shattered to pieces, and clenched her free hand. To say she was angry was an understatement. How dare they do that to her little cousin!

"Where are you now?" Blake bit out. She's getting him out of there, no matter what!

"W-well, I'm at around the fourth floor, on the extreme right of the mansion now…it's cold here, Blake…please…hurry!"

"Yes, I will hurry." said Blake, nodding. "Hang on Ryoma, stay strong."

With that, she hung up, noting that Ryoma must have known somehow she was in the country. Otherwise, he would not have called her. Blake took out her Triple Star Hunter License and smirked. With this, she has almost no legal responsibility for murder.

If she had to kill to get Ryoma back to her, she will, and no one's going to stop her! Blake prepared her weapons, and proceeded out of her temporary office. She shook her head. A taxi would waste time, so she decided to run to the Atobe Mansion, reaching within an hour.

Blake scaled the gates and jumped in. She smirked. That was easy. Now what did Ryoma say about his location? Man, this mansion should get a map, its freaking huge! Anyone could have gotten lost. Blake finally got to the extreme right, and attached a string around one of the higher balcony bar, and began to levitate herself up to the fourth floor.

Ryoma's thoughts raced as he slept on the hard bed that night. The only thing that he could think about is that he was the one who accepted the relationship. Sure, they used to love him very much but now…well, he wondered why he even entered this relationship.

Why did he still stay? In hopes of being treated nicely for staying loyally with them? If that's the case, Ryoma thought savagely, he knew he was wrong. He is going to turn his back on them, and no one's going to stop him.

He is going to go with Blake, and no one will have the right to hold him back. This is his choice. He clutched to the luggage bag and Karupin. 'Please hurry, Blake.' But, what if they get caught? What if he never got to see Blake again? What if… BOOM!

What was that?

BOOM! Ryoma shot up gripping his luggage and Karupin. He smelt smoke from his room. He turned to the window, and found Blake standing on his windowsill. Blake used the smoke bombs again. Figured.

Ryoma was immediately on his feet and smiled at Blake. He always took action quickly, and he knew he could always count on his cousin, even if they were out of contact. "Ryoma, we'll need a diversion. Do you think you can escape unnoticed while I act as your decoy?"

"That's dangerous, Blake. What if my lovers find out?"

Blake smiled. "Don't worry, I'll catch up. Give me some of your clothes. That way, they will be less suspicious. I've prepared a vehicle, just get in at the black car parked outside. You can't miss it, it is just parked outside the main gates, hidden by the shadows of the trees."

Ryoma nodded, and handed her some of his clothes and Blake handed Ryoma half of her equipment. "In case anyone attacks you."

Ryoma nodded and went down the staircase instead of the main one, dragging his luggage and Karupin with him.

Blake stood by, breathing heavily as she heard footsteps. The door opened and it revealed five figures. They looked furious. Blake gripped her knife inside his pocket. "Yes, can I help you?" said Blake, trying to sound scared and mimicking Ryoma's voice to a T.

"Ryoma, how many times must I tell you, NOT to make any noise in the middle of the night!" the boy with brown hair and blue eyes hissed.

"Sorry…" Blake muttered.

"Sorry isn't going to change the fact that you woke us up! Toys wouldn't make any noise!" a purple haired guy yelled, raising a hand to slap him.

Blake grabbed it out of instinct, and threw him to the ground. The others looked mildly surprised.

"I am sick and tired of you all, thinking you all are my lovers, but treating me like a toy. I'm outta here!" She started towards the window, but was grabbed and held back.

"You're not going anywhere." Another growled.

Blake took out her knife, and sliced behind her. She heard a few satisfying yelps, as she jumped out and attached a string to a tree trunk, and swung to the ground. She didn't look back as she made a run for the life. All she needed to do is to make it to the nearest alley, change her clothes and she'll be safe.

It's a long way through and it feels even longer when you're being pursued by people, which undoubtedly, she was. She turned, and sure enough, a few of the guards form the mansion were pursuing her, probably wanting to drag her back to the mansion.

Her legs seemed to move even faster as an alley came into view. Blake took out her gun and shot behind randomly. She heard someone scream behind him but she wasn't stupid enough to look back and see who it was, she just kept her eyes on the alley as it got closer and in fuller view, throwing a smoke bomb and running into the alley to change her clothes. The guards ran through the smoke past the alley, and Blake shook her head and made her way to the office.

Stupid lovers, they're going to be the next one to go if they're going after Ryoma, that's for sure. "You ok, Blake?"

Blake turned around to see Ryoma cradling Karupin and sitting in one of the couches. "Physically, yes. But..." Blake hissed in annoyance. "I didn't even kill those lovers of yours, though I did injure some."

"It's alright. Thanks for getting me out."

"No problem, anything for you."

"You know, after 2 months of being treated like this, I think I want revenge." said Ryoma, as he stroked Karupin mechanically. "But not yet…"

"Yeah, it's all their fault this happened you know." Blake hissed before holding up her Triple Star Hunter License. "I bet they're going to try to take you back but they're not going to have you. Not if I have anything to say about it."

He doesn't know how long ago that was. Ryoma had learnt that there was more to the world than meets the eye when he stayed with Blake. He used to think if he couldn't sense it, how could it possibly exist? However, he realized reality is actually totally different, having a lot more than it meets the eye and the universe around them.

However, some people have learnt the hard way that it was a double-edged sword. While there may be happiness, joy, laughter for the hidden things in the universe, some adventures could be filled with nothing but fear, despair, misery, for those involved in it.

Now, all two people were fighting for was their survival and were currently trying to prevent a horrible fate befalling them by escaping. They were running through a dark forest from the mountains they had escaped from, hoping to get away from the terrible trepidation chasing them.

Those two, an older girl and a boy, were currently covered in blood and bruises from their injuries and a black substance from escaping the mines earlier. All they were thinking of was trying to survive after losing all options to fight back due to how powerful the creatures were and how they were unable to call for help for some reason.

Unfortunately, it seemed like the boy wasn't going to survive much longer, as he fell to his knees from the damage and exhaustion.

"Stand up!" The older girl pleaded as she ran back to him, hoping to get him to continue their escape. "Just a bit further and we can call for help! I know you have family waiting for you! Please, survive for their sake!"

"Ugh…I know I should be used to this from tennis, but I can't…Sorry…" The boy said in a pained voice. "I guess this is the end for me, I'm too injured to continue on…Just…continue with…the plan…"

"But, I can't do that! We've done so much for each other; I can't afford to lose you again after finding you!" The girl argued, desperately trying to help the boy get back on his feet, but he slapped her hand away.

"I can't be saved. But the plan has to be enacted. Here, take this." the boy said and handed a CD to the girl. "If you manage to escape, find them and give this to them. Do it for me, please?"

"Them? Are you sure?" The girl knew who he referred to when he said them.

The boy nodded.

"…Alright. I'll make sure they get this. Even if it costs my life." The girl nodded, crying.

The boy gave a small smile. "Thank you. Now, quickly! Keep running. I'm going to stall them for a few seconds."

Reluctantly leaving her companion behind, the girl continued running. She wished she had more time with the boy, but if that wasn't possible, the least she could do was to do what he had asked her to do, taking it as her final mission from the boy. After all, she wanted the boy to be happy, and she'd do anything to give it.

A scream stopped the girl in her tracks. She dared not look behind, as she did not want to see what had happened. The girl looked down, tears falling from her eyes. She knew it was inevitable, but the knowledge of her precious cousin being gone was almost too much to bear. It was like she had failed protecting him from them.

"I'll make sure to get your message to them, Ryoma." the girl whispered to herself, steeling herself to run, in hopes of surviving this and to complete the task that Ryoma had given her.

BP: Yep, I'm looking back at my POT fics and this is just a break from my Pokémon fanfics. I decided to revise this fanfiction and keeping the title due to sentimental reasons, since this was one of my better stories in a sense.

This chapter is a short one, because I want it to essentially be a prologue of sorts. If you're interested in where this story is going, since I have a plan, do tell me. It always helps motivate me to write more.

I might consider rewriting my first story, that Everything Comes with a Price. Thoughts?
