Chapter 52: Jiraiya the Gallant, promise fulfilled, training for Bankai begins.

Note: This might be a little short, but I will try to do the best that I can.

Also, a few Skyrim elements will be used in here, or Dragonborn elements if you prefer. I don't own Skyrim, Bethesda does.

Just for the record, as far as I know, Skyrim doesn't have a dragon shout attack based on water or earth. So I'm gonna make some up here.

Whereas Daijynryuu herself controlled lightning.

The very next day after Maikeru's announcement, Jiraiya came back to Konoha.

He was still anxious about what he would say to Naruto, but he had something else to do right now.

Jiraiya told Tsunade that he was going to personally gather information regarding the Akatsuki in the most probable place: Amegakure.

Before he left, Maikeru and Minato each handed him a tri-pronged kunai, saying that if he needed help, all he had to do was throw them into the ground.

Seconds after Jiraiya successfully entered the village, he was detected by Pain.

Wandering around the village, Jiraiya spoke to the inhabitants about their leader, Pain.

Unsuccessful in gathering information, he captured two ninja of the village, who told him about their mysterious new leader Pain, who single handedly defeated Hanzō, the former leader of Ame.

Before acting further, Jiraiya summoned Gerotora and instructed him to store himself in Naruto, should anything happen to him, speculating that Madara Uchiha was responsible for the Nine-Tails attack on Konoha in the past.

Meanwhile, Pain, knowing that an intruder had infiltrated the village, ordered Konan to search for the intruder.

She then transformed into multiple-origami papers to seek the intruder out.

Konan located Jiraiya, and informed Pain, who then changed bodies in a secret chamber.

Konan then went ahead and attacked Jiraiya, who fought, evenly matched, with her for a short time.

Jiraiya then spoke about this history with Yahiko, and Nagato.

When Pain arrived, they discussed Pain's personal ideology, and the Akatsuki's goals.

Pain, who was convinced Jiraiya is to die anyway, revealed his reasoning behind collecting the tailed beasts which was to create a kinjutsu which could wipe away entire nations, so that the world would, 'mature' and develop aversion for war.

Finished with their talk, Pain summons a crustacean to attack Jiraiya, who defeated it and summoned Gamaken.

Having no other choice left, Jiraiya and Gamaken began their battle against Pain.

Camouflaging himself, Pain summoned multiple creatures to defeat Jiraiya.

Realizing that he was up against a powerful foe, Jiraiya used a barrier and prepared to enter Sage Mode.

Due to the predicament Gamaken had, he sustained deep wounds from the battle.

As Jiraiya had his technique ready to use, Gamaken left the battle and entered Sage Mode after summoning Fukasaku and Shima.

Jiraiya soon found Pain, who summoned two of his other Paths to enter the battle.

Jiraiya blinded one of the new Pains with a kick to the face, and Fukasaku suspected that all three Pain's share the same eyes and vision after they countered all their attacks, while Jiraiya realized that each of the bodies had only one specific purpose.

Jiraiya stalled for time while Fukasaku and Shima prepared a powerful genjutsu to defeat the bodies and were successful in doing so.

Jiraiya had a flash-back to when he first met the Toad Sage, who had told him that he would be a pervert, travel the world, write a book, and would train the destined child who would either save or destroy the world.

But memories of the trouble he caused Naruto and the others made him doubt that.

Leaving the bodies behind, another Pain attacked Jiraiya from behind and nearly severed his arm off.

Being confronted by the full attendance of the six paths of pain, Jiraiya was able to discover that all of Pain's bodies belonged to ninja he once knew, among them being his old student, Yahiko, functioning as Pain's Deva Path.

With this information, Jiraiya was able to discover the truth, but his throat was crushed by the Asura Path, before he was stabbed by the other Six Paths of Pain.

Pinned down to the ground, Jiraiya was unable to tell Fukasaku of what he had learned.

As Jiraiya laid dying, he remembered a conversation he had had with Minato and Kushina about how they wanted to name their son after the character in his book, plus the fact that he was Naruto's grandfather.

Remembering that forced himself back to life with his own willpower, and wrote a message on Fukasaku's back.

Thinking to himself, he accepted that Naruto was the Child of the Prophecy, and that it was up to him to decide his future.

Quickly recalling something else, he reached into his pocket, pulled out the two kunai and threw them into the ground.

The Asura Path then shot his fist at Jiraiya and Fukasaku.

But just before the fist could reach them, a flash of yellow and black lightning disrupted the attack.

Seconds later, Maikeru and Minato appeared between Pain and Jiraiya.

Recognizing the severity of the situation, both of them knew what to do.

Maikeru leaped forward to engage Pain.

With the enemy distracted, Minato quickly removed the chakra rods pinning Jiraiya to the ground.

After that, he pulled out a piece of paper, wrote two identical symbols on it and Jiraiya before shouting, "Sealing Jutsu: Organic Confinement!"

Then a flash of light erupted.

When it was over, Minato confirmed that Jiraiya was sealed within the scroll, in a state of suspended animation.

Having gotten what they came for, the two brothers vanished.

Just before Jiraiya blacked out, he thought about what he'd name his next book.

He then decided to name it. 'The Tale of Naruto Uzumaki' and said it had a nice ring to it.

Meanwhile, Pain thought that Jiraiya was dead, but Fukasaku had got away.

The Namikaze brothers successfully returned to the Leaf village and Jiraiya was put into intensive care.

As much as it galled them, the brothers told Fukasaku to lie about Jiraiya's survival, knowing that Pain would certainly come back to finish the job.

After the failed mission to get Sasuke back, Itachi was still feeling depressed.

Itachi asked Naruto if there was any chance of saving his little brother.

Naruto said, "Even if he did succeed in killing you, I doubt it would end there."

Itachi asked, "How can you be so sure?"

Naruto sighed, "Because, it will happen this way. You make the kill. But your pain doesn't die with that person, it grows. So you run out into the night to find another ninja, and another, and another, and another. Until one terrible morning, you wake up and realize that revenge has become your whole life. And you won't know why."

Itachi felt even more depressed, "So, it's really that bad, huh?"

Naruto sighed, "We will save him if we can. But as it stands right now, he is still a very great threat."

Satisfied with that answer, Itachi left, but not before performing a technique on Naruto to prepare him for the chance that Sasuke attacked Konoha.

Soon after, Naruto wass called to the Hokage office where he and the others was told by Fukasaku that Jiraiya was killed in Amegakure by Pain.

His girlfriends were not there for some reason.

Naruto was devastated and left to mourn while Tsunade, who was equally hurt, had the decoders try to decode Jiraiya's message on Fukasaku's back.

As night fell, Naruto was sitting on a bench under a lamp post, tears streaming down his face.

Everyone else in the room had their eyes wide with terror.

Asuma sighed as he began to explain, "To tell you the truth, Naruto. When I was growing up, I never really had much of a relationship with my dad. He couldn't even take care of himself, due to running the village and stuff. So taking care of me and my brother was out of the question. Even after I returned from my service with the Fire Daimiyo, we barely spoke to each other. And now my dad is dead. I never got the chance to hear him say if he was proud of me or if he loved me. I'm not sure if the pain caused by something like that ever goes away. But there is one thing I am sure of. You can't go through life thinking everyone you meet will one day let you down. Then he stood up and left.

His words held a great level of wisdom, showing that somewhere between losing hope and finding the courage, your faith can set you free and give you something to believe in.

Something that will lead you to a new and happy life.

With this in mind, Naruto opted to help the decoders decode the message, and saw that the message was written in Jiraiya's unique, if somewhat sloppy katakana script.

With this knowledge, they discovered Pain's secret that, 'The real one isn't there.'

After deciphering the code, Fukasaku asked that Naruto come with him to learn senjutsu like Jiraiya.

But Naruto respectfully declined by saying, "You've done enough my old friend. But I have a wish my uncle made that must be fulfilled. Which was to be trained by the dragons."

Fukasaku was, of course, saddened by this, but respected the boy's wishes.

Yoruichi said she needed to come along as well, that she had some special training for him also.

After a Reverse Summon sent Naruto and Yoruichi to Dragon Valley, Daijynnryu's five cousins, Chikyu-ryu, Kasai-ryu, Kaze-ryu, Mizu-ryu, and Kori-ryu, began to teach Naruto the long and difficult art of Dragon-Mage training.

The training required Naruto to first be completely still so to allow himself to mold the natural chakra surrounding him.

To speed up the process, special nature elemental energy was spread around Naruto that would allow him to use the chakra, but at a higher risk of turning into a dragon statue.

After several days to weeks, Naruto successfully learned how to remain perfectly still in order to mold enough natural chakra to enter Mage Mode, and even trained himself in secret to master his Wind Release: Rasenshuriken.

However, when time came to learn Mage Art: Judgement voice Technique, it proved to be rather difficult.

The Judgement Voice Technique was a legendary ability that would allow Naruto to use his own voice as a weapon, something the dragons called, 'Thu'um.'

By learning and chanting a series of words, the attacks would either crush, burn, blow away, drown, freeze, or shock the enemy.

Each attack had 3 words, each one more powerful than the last.

For earth, the words were, "Dyn, Que, Bir!"

This technique created a seismic shock pulse from with the earth making everyone caught within the blast radius to feel like a crushing weight was on top of them, forcing them to the ground.

For fire, the words were, "Yol, Toor, Shul!"

This attack unleashed a roaring fireball that would either incinerate or severely injure anyone in it's path.

For wind, the words were, "Fus, Ro, Dah!"

This ability created a strong blast of powerful wind that would knock anything in it's path to the ground, except for things like tailed beasts and summons.

For water, the words were, "Yul, Sar, Dai!"

This produced a unstoppable torrent of water that was guaranteed to wash away or drown whatever was in the way.

For ice, the words were, "Liz, Slen, Nus!"

This attack froze an opponent solid.

And finally, for lightning, the words were, "Strun, Bah, Qo!"

This created a storm of lightning from the clouds in the sky itself, all of which the user had total control over.

Mastering all 6 of these abilities proved difficult because Naruto didn't have all the chakra affinities needed for all six elements.

Which required the dragons to infuse some of their blood and a piece of their souls into Naruto.

Because of the spiritual imbalance Benihime presented, Naruto had to seal her away in a scroll during his training.

After mastering all 6 Thu'ums, Naruto still had 5 days remaining until he had to return to Konoha.
