Alright, the last chapter. I still don't own anything, but I like to thank everyone for your support and for reading it till the end. I really appreciate it. I'm hope you liked the story till here and that you will enjoy the final chapter just as much. So thank you. (And yes, that one scene was inspired by Sangoa nd Hiraikotsu. Don't get why in the Manga Rumiko never made anything like that between Shikon and Kagome(when Magatsuhi came out was the perfect time, wasn't it?).)
Chapter 14: Smile
"Higurashi-san!" Kagome heard her name be called s soon she left the house and looked around surprised. Despite the snow around, she wore a light blue dress, that went down to her knees, and mating boots as a white coat. Her hair was put up, leaving only a few lose strands hanging out of it and wore very lite blue eye shadow. A pair of white pearl ear rings and a necklace with a lightly glowing snowflake on it completed her outfit.
Finally she discovered the boy that had called her, but it was not the one she was waiting for. Hojo came running over the shrine yard to her, smiling brightly. They had have barely contact in the last year, so she blinked in surprise. Before she could react in any other way, he was in front of her. "Higurashi-san, I so glad I could get a hold of you." he smiled. "It has been a while."
"That's true. I quit school after all and started to travel."she smiled and nodded. After she found out that Shikon had stopped her ageing while reviving her, she hadn't seen any sense on finishing school when he had problems with it anyway. "So, how have you been? A lot happened since the incident with Pitch."
He gave her a strange look. "Not you too... Seriously, what is it this last year? Santa Claus and Co saving the world -what non-sense." Shaking his head he raised a bow at her. "Beings that could only be seen when believed in? Isn't it clear that in reality they only a international specialists organization protected by the government by this insane story? I don't see why everyone buys that. But on the other side, you were always a easy believer, Kagome."
Said girl really wanted to punch him at the moment, but tried to control herself. "Listen, Hojo, you-"
But he didn't and instate held out a bunch of roses. "I really like you." Hojo said with a red face. "I think it sad, that we couldn't met in the last time. And I would like to change that. I ...I..." Suddenly he rushed forward to her face.
And that was when the snow-wave hit and buried him.
"What the heck are you thinking you're doing to my girlfriend!?" Jack shouted as he landed close by. If looks could kill, Hojo would be death. However, since they couldn't, he shock himself and stood up. The wave had killed the roses through. Not being able to see the spirit glaring right next to himself, the brown haired boy looked up to the roof. "A avalanche?"he mumbled.
"Nope, my boyfriend."Kagome gave back, and Jake seemed to calm down. A little.
Her child hood friend however looked shocked, then amused. "That is a joke, right? You real-"
"Err, I believe, you're ticking him off again."the miko warned and stepped closer to Jack to get a hold of the arm with the staff. "We had our one year anniversary three days ago and are on our way to met up with friends for Christmas."
"What are-?" Hojo slipped on the suddenly appearing ice under his feet and landed face first. Kagome looked at Jack, who raised a brow. "What? You can't expect me to like him." he said.
"Still, let Hojo live.",she sighed. "Let's go."
"Hojo? Like Creepy-Stalker-that-Eri-told-me-about-Hojo?" Suddenly twice at mad he turned around to the boy again.
The eighteen year old shivered from the sudden temperature drop and looked around confused.
"Jack! You're a Guardian and forbidden to kill a human!"
Angry he hit the ground with the end of his staff and ice covered the yard and the fourhunderdtwentythree stairs to the street. "Fine. Let's go." He picked Kagome up and shot into the sky, leaving one scared Hojo behind. They flew in silence for a few minutes. The angry look at Jack's face remined till the girl had enough.
She grasped his face and kissed him hard. Jack barely missed a tree and came to an abrupt stop. Immediately he kissed back just as hard. They only seperated to graps for much needed air. Panting hard they leaned their foreheads against each other. Silence surrounded them again, but this time it was comfortable and they smiled. "Better?" -"I still don't like him."
She smiled. "You just want another one." Her answer was a cheeky grin.
"Jack! Kagome!" The voice made the look up. A golden sand jet came flying their way with a piloting Sandi and a waving Ayumi behind him. "Hey!"
Jack smiled. "Hey, how is it going? Had a good Honeymoon?" he asked. They started to fly next to each other. Kagome exchanged a large smile with the other now immortal girl.
Sandi gave him a dump-up and a smile, then made various sand-pictures.
"Oh, that. Yeah, they went ahead."Kagome explained. "Oka-san and ojii-san wanted to help with the preparations. Kiara and Souta went with them. No worries." Together they reached the North Pole in no time. North welcomed them with open arms. "Merry Christmas!" he grinned from one ear to the other. "Welcome, welcome." He laughed loud, his eyes sparkling even more than normally. "Come in, come in. Everyone is waiting."
Laughter and singing filled the workshop. Yetis and elves had gathered at a large decorated tree in the middle of the building, celebrating Christmas and a another successful Christmas Eve Delivery. Yuka and Tooth were talking near the punch and schoko milk, most likely about the book Yuka published a week ago. Telling Tooth's human life's story it already was a bestseller.
In an other corner Eri and Bunnymund were fighting again till Souta pointed out that they were standing under a mistletoe. While the girl turned red and the bunny started stuttering. Kiara sneered at them and Bunnymund decided to leave. Only to have a elf jump against his back. He stumbled and hit Eri. They jumped away from each other the second their lips met and flew in different directions.
The music changed to a softer melody and pairs started to dance. Kagome could make out Phil and her mother under them. Jack hold his hand out and she took it smiling. North looked over everything and laughed, before he set out to find Bunnymund. Seeing the door to the room with the Globe a slit open, he put on his extra-dark black sunglasses. The light folded the whole room. "It's nice, isn't it." he said to his friend, who stood there with crossed arms and black sunglasses.
Smiling, the Easter Bunny smiled. "Sure is." There were practical no non-believer nowadays.
"So about Eri.."
"S-Shut up!" Spirits couldn't blush.
