Chapter 28

"Another five victims this night. This killer is getting noticed by the press." Betty rubbed her temples. "Like previous time all victims are less than stellar individuals but the matters remain, people, begin to notice that we have some sort of vigilante running around Lowerton."

"That killer is smart, he strikes in instant and disappears after a few seconds." Kim told her." It makes hard to track him or her."

"With our limited resources we cannot do a large scale sweeping operation." Agent Du mussed rubbing his chin." Like Agent Possible mentioned his MO will make it extremely hard to apprehended the killer...albeit from the police sources the criminal elements began to whisper about Night Terror."

"Night Terror?" Kim asked raising her eyebrow.

"Yes, apparently they nicknamed the killer that." He shuffled some documents.

"Kim since I won't be able to spare any more men we will have to wait for Ron and Shego to come back from their vacation. You are to monitor the situation in Lowerton but do not engage the killer on your own, the risk is too high."

"But what about the victims? Every day people die..." Kim frowned.

"I know but luckily for us, he or she targets criminals only. While we cannot allow for such things to happen, in the current situation this...Night Terror will allow us and the police to have to breathe in Lowerton as surely some of the thugs will lay low and do not cause problems." Betty explained patiently. "Take an evening off today Kim you look exhausted."

"Ok, ." Kim nodded leaving the room at the dismissal.

The very moment the doors slid behind her, Kim's companion appeared walking next to her with a smug grin on his scarred face.

"You owe me 20 bucks," Legion told her.

"You're a figment of my imagination you don't need money." She shoots back angry at the fact that Betty acted exactly as Legion predicted. As long as she kept killing the trash of society the matter would have low priory.

At another time she would be horrified but right now that was...useful. She could do what she wanted making the world the better place almost unhindered.

"Night Terror huh?" She mussed unaware of a small smile forming on her lips.

She liked the sound of it!

"Despacito! Quiero respirar tu cuello despacito!…." The music rang across the open air club as the whole crowd sang along the song bouncing to the rhythm. Ron and Sheila were in the very center, enjoying themselves to the very fulled as their trip came closer and closer to the end.

But right now that did not matter.

Surprisingly after exposing the weapon cache GJ acted with speed and efficiency following the Cuban government and not even 24 hours later whole smuggling ring was busted.

So by some cosmic miracle, their vacation wasn't ruined by some undoubtedly epic fight with alien weapons smugglers.

Amazing.

"Woah how about we take a break? I'm all wet!" Ron started wiping his forehead.

"That's not what she said!" Sheila shoots back making him burst out laughing.

"Come I'll buy you a drink." Ron took her hand leading her to their table. Of course, the owner recognized them instantly and offered them a full course for free. While they graciously accepted the table they refused free food and drinks. Both of them had enough cash to pay for their treats.

"That's the life I wish we could stay here forever," Ron said taking a sip of his whiskey.

"Well we could, we just have to resin from GJ and move here." Shego smiled at him.

"Well, maybe you. Don't you remember that I sold my soul for you so you won't be thrown into prison?" Ron deadpanned making Sheila glared at him.

"I would not go as far as saying that you sold your soul..." She grumbled.

"Ok it's just my contract legally prevents me from leaving." Ron chuckled." But if I wasn't rich the salary would be quite nice."

"I always wondered what you do with the cash you get for the job?"

"I donate all of that to war orphans and homeless animals." Ron shrugged." Just like all of my share from the tech company. I don't need that much cash and many people could have better use of it than me."

Sheila looked at him with mouth agape. She was certain that even if he did not have all those grants he would give his last shirt to the needing. And not once demand a thank you. Once again she realized how lucky she was that she managed to have a man like him.

And only for her.

"Sheila you're drooling."

"Yes, I know." She smiled coyly. "Guess why?"

"Well if that glimmer in your eyes tell me anything...you got hungry?" Ron replied with a goofy grin.

Sheila's eye twitched.

"In a way..."

"In a way that you want something thick, long and meaty?" Ron leaned closer.

"Mhmm, you're reading my mind..." She licked her lips with a mischievous glimmer in her eyes.

"Like a hot dog?"

Shego face faulted.

"Goddamn, it Ron." She sighed but the smile soon followed." You really know how to make girl craving for long, thick meaty things, yeah let's go for those hot dogs."

"Booyah!" The blonde agreed with a wide goofy smile.

"You know a man your age would get more excited about the prospect of hot sex than a hot dog..." Shego pointed out.

"Well, I'm not a typical man of my age that for one, two who said that I do not have a prospect of hot sex tonight?" Ron replied wrapping his arm around her waist.

"You're not...wrong I guess." Shego chuckled." Where went that innocent boy who blued at the smallest sight of naked skin?"

"He was brutally corrupted by wicked seductress who took his innocence!" Ron exclaimed with a dramatic tone."

"Hey! I went slowly with you!"

"Only after you beat me up so much that I wasn't able to move much."

"That still counts, besides you wanted to go on despite everything." Sheila protested.

"Can you blame me?" He grinned.

"Well it's me we're talking about so no I guess I have to give you this one." She drew her phone frowning at it." Damn still no message from Drew...which means that it might go ok or wrong ."

"Yeah, he has the date with Betty tonight!" Ron slapped his forehead." I got to give it to him he aims high."

"I just hope that he won't make a total buffoon out of himself, he deserves something from his life..."

"Well, he kind of matured a bit in GJ so maybe thing will go smoothly for once..."

Drakken's apartment 10 minutes before Zero hours…

Dr. Drew Lipsky would honestly prefer another world-ending scenario right now. He was beyond nervous right now. That would be his first date in...EVER!

With a woman that held more power than few governments combined.

"Just be yourself- ok never mind just don't make a fool out of yourself!" Shego's voice sounded in his head.

"Ok Drew you can do it! It's just a dinner together with an amazing lady that is way out of the league! No big!" Drakken cringed at the use of Kim's phrase. " Ok just follow the plan and everything will be fine!"

As on cue yellow pelts grew around his neck.

"Argh!" He ripped them off violently. He took a deep breath calming himself down." Focus!" He flapped his cheeks with both his hands." You're Drew Lipsky! You managed to halt the invasion of Lorwardians! You can make a perfect date night!"

"Hmmm, I can't wait for that."

"AICK!" Drakken jumped with a girlish scream, startled by the sudden voice. He turned on his heel about to bad mouth the intruder but the voice stuck in his throat.

Betty was leaning on the door frame with a coy smile on her face and a seductive glimmer in her eye.

She wore a very fitting navy blue dress that accented each and every one of her voluptuous curves nicely, not to mention a very healthy décolleté to show her goods to the world. The dress ended up right after her knees showing off her toned yet a bit scarred legs.

Drakken suddenly felt that his throat was as dry as a dessert and his mind blank. The perfection as standing in his doors and he did was not able to even utter a word.

"Sorry for coming too early Drew, did I caught you at the wrong moment?"

"Err...ahhh..no I was just...coming to...get you?" He shuttered suddenly embarrassed as hell at being caught at psyching himself up. He took a deep breath calming himself down. " So Betty shall we?"

He offered her his arm which she gladly accepted.

Drew thanked God that he decided to take the sweat-stopping medicine before all of that. With the amount of stress, he was feeling.

The pair went to the landing pad straight to hovercraft. Drakken opened the doors for Betty allowing her inside and then he moved to the driver's seat.

He gently took off and flew to their destination. The restaurant he picked was the top class in the whole Tri-city.

Before he could only dream of ever visiting such a place. Yet surprisingly the moment he introduced himself he got a table no question asked. When he inquired how it was possible since to get a table there you had to make it half year before they replied that world savior was entitled to special treatment.

World Savior.

In the past, that would disgust him but right now it made him feel worth something. Made him feel…good. People wouldn't mock him anymore and give him the recognition he craved so much.

He parked his hoover car on the landing pad.

Yes, the restaurant had its landing pad.

"My Drew, I see that you went all out on this one." Of course, Betty knew where he booked the table. Yet it would be rather impolite of her to not show her appreciation.

The meal at this place would behalf of someone's monthly salary.

"Well special occasion requires special means." He smiled pleased with her words." Shall we?"

He offered her his hand which she graciously took.

Much to her surprise, it was dry. She half expected for it to be uncomfortably moist, knowing Drew's tendency to be nervous around women.

Unknow to her Drew Lipsky also knew that so he took sweat blockers just in case of that.

He wasn't about to let his faulty body ruin the night!

He leads her to the very top VIP lounge with a great view of the still rebuilding city. The seat was placed at the very top of the restaurant with private space with only one table there among the flowers and exotic plants. On the snow-white tablecloth stood proudly a bucket of ice with probably ridiculously expensive red wine in it.

"Splendid view isn't it?" Drew looked at the city batched in the last rays of sunlight.

"Indeed, it's good to see that we're rebuilding after such devastation." She nodded.

"Wine?" Drew offered. He specifically requested to minimalize the presence of waitresses.

"Please." She offered him his glass which he filled halfway." It's a nice change of pace from the mundane routine."

"As if the most powerful woman in the world can have a mundane day." Drew smiled.

"Imagine that doing the same over and over and getting the same kind of dirt on corrupt politicians can get mundane. The faces change the methods not." She closed her eye taking a sip of wine." Unlike you who constantly create something new and exciting."

"Being stuck in the lab all day can get to you too, you know Betty." He said rolling his eye." Ah perfect! The first dish is here."

Much to her surprise, it was a tomato soup, which happened to be her favorite.

"Don't look so surprised I can do some research too."

"My who do I have to execute for disclosing a national secret?"

"Let's not be so dramatic, it was just a piece of friendly advice. Hopefully, the rest will be to your liking too."

She smiled at him charmingly instantly making him blush. It seemed that all those years of seduction did not get to waste.

'Hold your horses, Betty, he's not the target that you have to kill afterward.' She almost laughed at herself. Yet she could see that even if he tried to look calm she could see that he was quite uncomfortable.

Yes, he was probably stressed out with her presence. His profile never mentioned any love interest aside from Anna Possible all those years ago, so his experience was probably very abysmal in the men-women relationship.

She took a sip.

"That is one of the best sups I ever ate." She did not even need to lie. It was amazingly well done. She had to hold the smile as she saw his visibly relax.

"I never pegged you for the type to visit such places." She told him.

"Quite honestly I am not, I always hated those posh types." He nodded eating his meal." I'm more of the lower-class dinner guy from Jersey type."

"I happened to notice that fact, you have come to a far road Drew."

"With more than a few bumps and stumbles on the way." He poured himself more wine.

"Not many would call almost conquering the world bumps and stumbles."

"Well, time changes perspectives. Some things lose their allures while others gain them."

"So what gained your attention quite recently?" She laughed when he choked on the wine." Anyone in particular?"

"You're a cruel woman Betty." He whined.

"Don't be if I wasn't interested too I wouldn't have come here."

His mouth hung open.

"We're a bit too old to play the hide and seek game like those teenagers. So relax Drew, be yourself and treat me like a normal human being not some porcelain angel or God forbids GJ Director."

"Wow…you know how to take out all this stress angle." He said slowly. " Here I ran multiple simulations with how to lead this conversation."

She rolled her eye. The thinking types.

"See relations aren't something you can science out, you have to just feel them. For example, you make a lot of effort to treat a lady well so if she's normal and not a basic bitch she will appreciate you even if you stumble a few times." Betty explained.

Drew was lost for words. All the safe conversations he made in his head have fallen apart. His mind was empty, just focusing on staring at this gorgeous woman before him.

"Hello? Earth to Drew? Did I break something there? You know women can be normal and down to earth too…" She faked a bit of offense.

"Oh! Sorry I didn't mean to presume you were like those angsty annoying teens that think that they're entitled to everything!" He said quickly.

"Urgh, I would jump out of the ledge if I was like that." She shivered to make him smile.

"And that's the right time for the second course." Drew smiled as the waitresses brought insanely expensive lobster along with other sea fruits.

"Just don't come for a raise after we're done here." She laughed lightly.

"An investment in the future." He replied. "Still that's not all I have planned for tonight."

"Oh? What else do you have in store?"

"That's a secret but I think you will enjoy it." He smiled eating his moths' salary in the form of lobster. After the meal was done they moved back to the hovercraft. Drew closed the wind glass and speed up, much to Betty's surprise it leading them to Lowerton. They landed on some empty area which most likely used to be some apartment buildings before if the ruins nearby were any indication.

"Ok, that is not what I was expecting." Betty looked at him with keen interest."

"I just wanted to show you something." He hopped out of the hovercraft. " You see Lowerton citizens before the invasion always complained that their area is industries and smoke only and not a bit of greenery."

"Don't tell me you have invented an instant park creation device?" Betty joked a bit but her smile fell as he looked her seriously.

"Just…don't freak out ok?" He took a deep breath and rose his arms up.

And for ten seconds nothing has happened.

Betty rose her eyebrow.

TREMBLE!

With uncharacteristic eep, Betty almost lost her balance drawing closer to Drew and leaning on him for support. All around them trees shoot from the ground along with multiple other plants filling the previously empty area with lush green forest.

Betty has seen a lot in her life. She fought and killed and got through more than most people alive. Yet to see a single man create a forest around her in seconds was something out of fairy tales.

Drew used his will to create a table and a set of chairs from the plants. Above it was another luminescent plant that provided light for them. With other wines he brought a basket from the hovercraft with was filled with sweets and another bottle of wine.

Gently Drew lead Betty to the fully natural table which by pure accident had a great view on the full moon.

"H-How?" Betty shuttered completely out of character. "You never exhibited such control over the plant life…"

"Man is bound to few secrets of his own…but yes the formula I created was so much more than I anticipated…" He took a candy and ate it with joy like a little boy. " I can now feel the earth Betty as if I was feeling my own body. I can feel all the life around me and even I can will it to create a new one. Albeit I will have to drop a fertilizer and water here tomorrow because such action has denatured the ground here."

She looked at him in silence still trying to process what he just did.

"You know in the past I would have instantly moved to conquer all around me…to use this power to subjugate everyone around me and be a king of the world." He rose his fist but it fell." Yet after what I saw during the invasion and after…"

" It broke you…"

"Yes, Dr. Drakken stopped existing the moment he saw how the result of dominance through violence looks like. I just wanted recognition of my genius but after seeing all this death…I realized how childish and immature I was. How insignificant I am…"

"Drew you're not insignificant!" Betty stopped him with more passion than she intended." If not for you we wouldn't be here! You're one of the most significant people in the world right now!"

"Careful, or you will inflate my ego!" he laughed but not the maniacal laugh. " My point is that I want to use this power to rebuild and help humanity rebuild and grow stronger. I no longer want to use it for my selfish goals but start using it to help others."

"I hope you do not plan to share the formula with others?" Betty couldn't help but ask.

"Maybe in future to a person I would trust to hold this power but right now I won't risk anyone else having that much power…as ridiculous as it sounds" He chuckled at the end.

" I need to update your psychological profile…" Betty replied with a slight pout. How could she miss the insane character growth that man went through? She observed him quite closely after all!

Of course professionally. Yes, only that way.

Lowerton

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Shoots filled the street and the gang of thugs was running for their lives as the creature of nightmare was tearing them apart.

"I told you we should lay low boss!" One of the feet more solid screaming shooting blindly at this point.

"Keep your trap shut! We can't let some freak trample over our turf!" The bulky man snapped backfiring his shotgun." Stop panic-"

His words were cut short was clawed like hand clasped over his throat. The gunfire stopped as their one hundred kilos boss was lifted in the air by the figure clad in black.

"You never learn do you?" Night Terror hissed clenching her hand around the crooks neck." No matter how much suffering you cause you never repent!"

With a sickening crunch, she snapped his neck throwing the body at his terrified comrades. With moves that none of them could follow she closed the gap between her soon to be victims and sealed their fate.

Every time her claws moved blood spluttered. Every time her fist connected the bones broke.

And the oh so thrilling screams of pain.

Not even a minute later the deed was over before the police even had a chance to catch a glimpse of her Kim was gone from the scene leaving only numerous bodies behind.

The gangs of Lowerton thought that gathering in groups numbering ten and more men would provide them security.

They couldn't be more mistaken as Kim did nothing else for the last few years than fight being outnumbered.

Not that she complained, it made her job easier than fishing for each one of them at the time.

Kim wondered how much of a better place the world would be if she started doing it from the very beginning? Villains do not change. No matter how many times you put them in prison they simply escape the faulty system and do it all over again.

Endless cycle…unless somebody was willing to break it!

Suddenly away too familiar hum of engines drew her attention. She instantly spotted Drakken's hovercraft.

"Wonder what nefarious deeds he's planning?" Legion suddenly appeared next to her.

"Drakken reformed he's been clean ever since the invasion." Kim instantly replied.

"Or he's just biding his time gnawing deeper into GJ organization." Legion supported.

"Drew Drakken Lipski…is playing GJ with Betty at the helm." She deadpanned.

"Ok…that might be a bit far fetched I agree but how about we see what he is up to?"

"Fine, I did my share of community service today."

In one smooth leap, she jumped from her post and tailed the ship. She followed it noticing that it flew to the still destroyed part of the time. The was a part of the district that was cleared from the rubble and was waiting to be reconstructed.

What perplexed Kim was the fact that Drakken was with someone else. She used her suit's abilities and zoomed to see who was the other person.

"Dr. Director?!" She gasped. She instantly noticed a rather nice dress on her along with Drakken wearing a pretty smart suit." They're on a date!?"

"Told ya" Legion sing-sang." Betty at the helm huh? Maybe it should be Betty at the top or do you think she's more submissive type?"

"Ok Woah! For starters Ew! Second EWWWWW, Third IT"S DRAKKEN! How possibly- " Her voice got stuck in her throat when suddenly the whole FOREST popped out from the ground all around them.

Her mouth hung open as this literal force of nature occurred right before her eyes.

"Hmmm, that is more than just controlling few flowers eh? " Legion uttered for the first time she has ever heard him he sounded less than absolutely confident. " Imagine the power of the very nature in the hands of a person like Dr. Drakken. He can level cities with this…"

Kim's mind was running a hundred kilometers per hour. How could she not think about it? He gained the power to control nature! In his hands that power would cause the same if not worse damage to the human race than Lorwardians!

'Did he drag Betty into that too?"

"If he kills her, he will cripple the entire GJ in one move," Legion stated folding his arms.

"Drakken would never kill her…" Kim protested weakly.

"Are you sure of that? Like Ron would never date Shego or abandon you?" He pressed with his eyes glowing." People change Kim…"

Suddenly her mind gained clarity. Drakken was a threat to world peace and needed to be removed.

He could not change, not with the power to rule the world in his palm. She needed to do what was necessary.

She leaps in the air straight into the forest with one goal in mind.

Kill Doctor Drakken.
