Chapter 20: Internal Battle Yet Again Part 2
xxXXxx
…
Hyper watched Zero pour his heart out for whatever reason he was yet to know. It wasn't quite clear but he could get the gist of it given the situation. A frozen Nana was crying. Her hands held Tsunayoshi's gloves. And parallel to her was a picture of the said person. "Zero, nothing will happen if you keep crying..!"He weakly said, "Tell me what happened here..!" He placed his hand on Zero's head.
Zero slapped away Hyper's hand, also making his hand frozen in the process. "You can tell by looking…" He dangerously hissed. "Dame-Tsuna is dead, and I'm the reason for it."
SLAP!
"Stop this nonsense, Zero." Hyper sternly said. He grabbed Zero's arms and locked them together in order to prevent him from freezing other things around him. "Take a good look around you then tell me what you see."
Zero did as told and looked around him, "I see ice. Sawada is dead, I am dead and you are dead… I see..!" He stared right back at hyper with a frightened face, "This is the afterlife and we are going to suffer—AAUUGH!" Hyper head-butted Zero.
"Do it seriously, Zero!"
Zero gave a dark chuckle, "I AM doing it seriously, Hyper… but no one really believes me." Ice formed at Zero's hand, engulfing Hyper's own hands in the process. Zero was able to get his hands out of the ice then went to freezing Hyper's feet, "You never took my words seriously." He glared at Hyper, "And you're not even the boss of me."
Hyper returned the glare, "What are you trying to say?"
Zero just gave the coldest smile he could give then placed his hand on Hyper's face…
"Die."
…
…
…
Drip… drip… drip…
"Oh! It's suddenly raining..!" Tsuna said to himself. "Ahhh..! What am I going to do..? There's no shelter here..!" He frantically looked side to side in hopes of finding shelter from the rain.
Shaking his head, he chose to run forward just in case he finds one in the future. The place gradually turned gray as he ran towards whatever. He took notice of the fact that his footsteps weren't grass anymore but murky mud, "What going on exactly..?"
The rain poured harder, making his field of vision blurry but he still ran nonetheless. There was something in his senses that was telling him that something was wrong and it had something to do with his two missing personalities. Along those lines, he was thinking that perhaps the two of them got split again just like that time when he was unconscious and was wandering inside his mind…
Tsuna suddenly stopped in his tracks, "Wandering in my mind…" He suddenly remembered that he was shot by some sort of bullet that he can't bring himself to remember. "Then is this… huh..?" The brunet felt how his hands turn incredibly cold then incredibly hot then back to normal "Why..?"
He suddenly had a brain freeze then to a painful headache then back to normal, "What is happening..?" Tsuna fell on his back then found himself unable to move. A few moments later, he was able to move again. He felt something dribble down his face.
It was blood.
A nosebleed to be exact.
He suddenly clutched his eyes the moment he felt like it was being gouged then forcefully shut his eyes the moment it felt like it was going to melt.
Then it was back to normal again.
As he opened his eyes, he found himself infront of his frozen house. He suddenly felt a burning sensation on his right arm then went back to normal. He opened the door unexpectedly easier than he thought it would be. The ice surrounding the door knob melted upon contact with his hand. It opened with an eerie creak. The sound of cracking ice could be heard. It was like hearing joint being popped.
A faceless snowman—no. it wasn't Olaf—greeted Tsuna at the front door. It looked so adorable and harmless if it weren't for those suspicious-looking spiked bats for an arm attached to him. Tsuna just stared at it with a skeptical face, "Uhh…" 'What do I do..? I seriously don't know how to deal with this…' He internally said. The brunet raised his hand to test how this little guy would react.
The faceless snowman took an offensive stance making Tsuna back away, "WHOA! WHOA!" He raised his hands defensively. A sweat rolled down his cheek, "I'm not a bad person… I live here..!" He tried to reason—which just made the snowman to grow more alert of him. Tsuna turned around then clutched his head as he crouched down, "I own this place, so WHY?!"
Tsuna turned around to see if the faceless snowman was gone.
Shockingly, they became three.
The brunet rubbed his eyes to see if he was just hallucinating or something… Unfortunately, they became nine. He carefully back-pedaled away from the exponentially increasing number of faceless snowman. "I really wish you were Olaf instead…" He commented as he just stared in awe at those snowmen.
One of the snowmen took initiative of attacking by running (not really) to Tsuna. His spiked hand was up, ready to attack.
Tsuna, who was confused of what the snowman was doing, carelessly dodged the attack—which he didn't know it to be one. The other snowmen saw it as a provoking action so they also attacked (we all know that a running snowman with Olaf's height isn't really seen as hostile). Tsuna, still confused as fuck, just dodged the spiked arms of the snowmen then found his way going inside the house, locking the faceless snowmen outside.
Right after locking, Tsuna heard weak tapping sounds… probably the faceless snowmen. Still confused, the brunet opened the door (WHY TSUNA? WHY?!) for them only to see three monster-sized snowmen.
Close.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
"HIIEEEE!" Tsuna ran away from the entrance and went wherever his feet would take him.
He suddenly felt his thighs go numb making his fall face first. He waited for a few moments for the numbness to go away then continued with running away. It was the only option he was left since he actually can't enter his mode. The feeling made him miserable but what made him feel much of that was the fact that he evolved into the type to fight back.
Shaking the thought away, Tsuna ran to the other room then locked it just in case the ice monsters made their way inside. The place covered in ice slowly melted the moment he set his eyes upon it. The place looked like it was ransacked. The furniture was tipped. The tatami mats were somewhat burnt. The sliding door was broken. And, he saw his mother holding his gloves while crying.
"K… Kaa-chan!" The brunet went to her side and tried to have her in his arms. He failed miserably as his hands just went past her. If anything, his world seemed to instantly crumble into tiny bits of pieces. The color of his eyes kept changing from dull brown to bright orange. The veins on his head were starting to show up. His head felt like bursting because of that sight.
The room temperature kept shifting from freezing cold to burning hell. Tsuna's eyes couldn't believe what he was seeing and he couldn't believe that he couldn't touch Nana. "Calm down, Tsuna! Calm down!" He shouted to himself. He curled into fetal position and tried to rationalize everything that has happened since the beginning.
He started to bang his head against the floor as he kept rationalizing to no ends—there was nothing registering in his mind. Only the crying face of his mother kept emerging. His eyes widened in disbelief…
"AAAAAAHHHHH!" The world suddenly crumbled into nothingness. Like a fragile glass, the scene was reduced to shards.
Hyper and Zero found themselves re-warped into the world Tsuna created.
"Tsunayoshi!"
"Don't come any closer!"
The two didn't get what Tsuna meant.
Their world suddenly felt a strong earthquake. "What was that?!" Zero shouted. He took a step then fell into an endless pit. "AAAAHH!"
"ZERO!" Hyper retrieved Zero only to feel the hard ground blocking his way. "WHAT IS THIS?!" Hyper tried to break the ground before Zero was completely out of sight.
There was an explosion at the bottom of that pit then the world that was all black turned snow white. Zero fell from the sky. His complexion was paler compared to the last time. Zero hugged himself, "Why does it feel so cold..?" He was shivering like a wet chick.
"Z… Zero…" Hyper said rather disbelievingly. "You shouldn't feel cold..! You control the ice!" He tried to Zero only to be strongly repelled by his cold temperature. "Oi… Tsuna—Wha?!"
Tsuna's eyes were dull and lifeless. Recalling, that guy DID say not to come closer. Zero took a step closer and fell deep into a pit… then landed in something—a strike of lightning caught him realizing something. It may be stupid but what if this imaginary space was designed with Tsunayoshi's anatomy..? Wouldn't that mean that Zero fell down and froze Tsuna's heart? But how did he fell from the sky? How was that possible?
Tsuna moved closer to Hyper, forcefully shoving the shivering cold Zero aside, not caring whether he was hurt or not. Hyper moved on step back, "Tsunayoshi… I'm begging you, come back to your senses..!"
"I cannot comprehend." The brunet boringly replied. He stuck out a hand, as if waiting for Hyper to reach out to it. Tsuna suddenly fell unconscious. The white world suddenly returned to total nothingness.
Zero returned to normal as if nothing had happened to him. "Dame-Tsuna is being an ass… really." He commented. He turned his head to the dumbstruck Hyper, "Aren't you thinking of the same thing..?"
Hyper immediately rejected the thought, "I never thought of him that way… for you perhaps but not Tsunayoshi."
Zero just replied with a skeptical look, "Whatever…" He slyly placed his hand Hyper's shoulder then took the chance to freeze him starting from there.
"What the?!" Hyper slapped the hand away and returned Zero with a fiery punch. "What are you trying to pull?!"
"I'm taking this body!"

"Say… Is it really alright to let Tsuna move on his own..?" Yamamoto slowly asked, watching the unconscious Tsuna say incoherent words while throwing deadly punch and kicks.
Reborn sip on his espresso, "Think of it as training."
"I don't think that's a good point, Reborn-san—Waah!" Gokudera added, dodging a sharp kick from the unconscious brunet. A sweat rolled down his cheek, "We'll probably get killed if one of those sharp kicks land on us!"
"Ou! THIS IS EXTREMELY EXTREME!" Ryohei enthusiastically shouted as he dodged some of Tsuna's killer moves (even he knows when to stop throwing punches). "SLEEPING SAWADA IS ALSO EXTREME!" The sun guardian dared to try and neutralize the kick with his punch—only to be blown away. His left hand was instantly covered with ice.
"Fucking IDIOT!" Gokudera shouted. He forgot that instance that there was an unconscious Tsuna on the loose. A punch managed to graze his cheek—freezing it in the process. "Tch."
"We need to immobilize him somehow or else he might create damage to the plane!" Yamamoto shouted.
"I know that full well baseball idiot! But we also can't afford to strain Juudaime while he's still fighting inside!"

"HIEEEE! WHAT'S GOING ON THIS TIME?!" Tsuna ran like his life depended on it as multiple attacks headed his way. He looked back while endlessly dodging the attacks, "YOU GUYS HAVEN'T EXPLAINED ANYTHING TO ME YET!"
"SHUT UP DAME-TSUNA!" Zero exclaimed as he threw a large icicle towards Tsuna and Hyper.
The icicle that was headed towards Tsuna was somehow reduced to nothing the moment it was supposed to come in contact with him. Hyper, on the other hand, melted his icicle with his flame. "Tsunayoshi, hurry and find somewhere you can be safe!" Hyper instructed as he created a great wall of flame that separated him from Zero and his attacks.
"I'm not going anywhere!" Tsuna shouted, negating Hyper's flames in the process. "I may not be the strongest one out there, but I also have my place in this body!" Their world slowly turned into a place they called as home. It returned to the scene where Nana was crying her heart out while holding on to Tsuna's gloves.
Zero and Hyper found themselves unable to use their powers the moment they went back to that scene. "Tell me." Tsuna started, "What happened and why is Kaa-chan crying?"
"It was already like that when I came to."
"Same here."
"Why were you guys fighting?"
"It seemed to be my fault that she was crying so I wanted to take responsibility by somehow making things better for her…" Zero clicked his tongue, "Why am I reporting this to you?"
Tsuna threw himself to Zero, his eyes were as wide as they can possibly be and stared at the ice manipulator like a madman, "It's because I am the owner of this body." He pressed Zero harder on to the ground and gripped his shoulders, "If there is anything that I don't want to see, it would be seeing my mom cry so much as shed a tear." He pressed his forehead against Zero—creating a very intimidating stare, "That is why you have every right to say everything to me."
Tsuna got up and helped Zero sit. The latter clicked his tongue in annoyance since Dame-Tsuna was being an ass again—a yandere ass to be honest. Tsuna directed his gaze to Hyper who was dumbstruck for the second time today, "Do you have an idea..?"
Hyper unconsciously straightened his back, "None whatsoever but I'm guessing that the structure of this illusion is based from your body anatomy…" He looked around as if checking some things to show some sort of proof only to find none.
"Hmmm… so how do we get out..?"
Zero threw a pillow at Tsuna's face, "I think it's obvious that two needs to be unconscious so one can emerge." Cue the questioning faces from the remaining two. A sweat rolled down Zero's cheek, "I was the last one standing during the last battle so…" He created spikes made of ice and attacked Tsuna and Hyper.
Tsuna managed to dodge at the right moment and Hyper was able to deflect it with his flames, "Why are you so hung-up on winning, Zero!"
"I DON'T KNOW!" Zero shouted. The created scene crumbled into nothingness again then it became a scene with tons of nature. The other two didn't know what else to do other than to stop and contemplate. Zero grabbed his own wrist and fell on his knees. "I don't know, goddammit." He pressed his head to the ground as if pressing his head to squeeze out some sort of answer, "It's just that she was crying and it felt like it was my fault to begin with..!" He started to release a freezing fog, "All I know is that she is Sawada's mother…" The sky in that world started to turn dark. "And I'm the reason that she's crying like that." It started to snow.
Not before long, the place was already freezing cold.
"Z-Z-Ze-Zero..! I-I-I th-think that you're feeling guilty..!" Tsuna started. "And s-she's not just my mother..! She's also your mother and Hyper's too!"He gave a small smile—forced yet sincere, "We just share the same f-fear!"
"What the hell are you saying, Dame-Tsuna?!" Zero exclaimed. The simple snow became a storm, "MOTHER? SAME FEAR? Don't mess with me! I don't know the feeling of having a mother so why should I hold that kind of fear?!"
A huge fireball went to Zero's way, "You reside in this body, Zero! It's impossible for you not to know it!" Hyper reprimanded.
"But I woke up not too long ago!" Zero hissed, "I don't have the slightest idea of how it would feel to have a mother loving you!" He begrudgingly added. Zero threw a large ice at Hyper's direction only to be effortlessly dodges by the flame user.
"Waaahh~! They're fighting again..!—Achoo!" Tsuna commented. "It must be hard for Zero to accept everything…" He added. "Hmm?" Tsuna noticed how he wasn't shivering from the cold anymore. A random idea crossed his mind as he touched the snowy ground.
It melted.
Tsuna giggled at himself, "I didn't know it was this simple..!" He scratched the back of his head, "I guess I really am stupid at some point…" He sighed at his own stupidity. He walked into the middle of the two then did something to them. Zero couldn't feel the ice as Hyper couldn't feel the flame. Tsuna tugged the two the moment they were in range with his arms.
"Zero is more on sensitivity that's why it's you have ice. Cracks develop the moment you feel something wrong. Hyper holds the comprehension, that's why the strength of the flame contains the resolution. It burns in passion…" Tsuna tightened his embrace, as if saying that everything is all right. "I am here to create balance. That's why I am the neutral part." Zero and Hyper were slowly losing their vision and balance.
As Tsuna reopened his eyes, the left part was dull and cold and the right part was burning orange. The remaining two finally went blank.
"Good night…"

…
…
"Eh..?" The first thing Tsuna saw was his fist landing a solid punch on Gokudera's face, sending him to the end of the plane. "HIIIEEE! GOKUDERA-KUN! ARE YOU ALRIGHT?!" He ran to the fallen right hand man.
"Ju… Juudaime, I am happy to see that you are back unharmed..!"
"Whawawawa..! Don't say something so wrong!"
"Tsuna!"
"Sawada!"
Tsuna looked at the two people calling him. Much to his heart, they were covered in bruise just like the person he was holding. "What happened… really?" He wearily asked.
Yamamoto scratched the back of his head, "It's a long story…hmm?" The rain guardian took a closer look at Tsuna, "Say… what happened to your eyes..?"
"My eyes!?" Tsuna frantically shouted, "Don't tell me they look weird now!" He self-examined his eyes (but he doesn't really know what he's doing).
"No, no… it's just that… A-re..?" Yamamoto watched how Tsuna's eyes reverted to its normal chocolate brown state. "Nevermind, it's back to normal."
"Oh… ok…"
Reborn got off of the leather seat and landed just beside Tsuna, "In any case, what happened, Tsuna?"
The brunet let a dead tired exasperated sigh,
"Haha… ugh. Fire and Ice."
